Carmen Hernandez
WAUKESHA- Carmen Hernandez, 82, died Saturday, Nov. 18, 2000, at The Virginia Health and Rehab Center. She was born in St. Paul, Minn. on Feb. 12, 1918, to Joseph and Antonia (nee Don Diego) Melendes. She was employed for many years at La Casa de Esperanza where she worked in the day care, taking care of children. She was a faithful member of St. Joseph Catholic Church.

She will be sadly missed by her children, Victor (Susan) Hernandez of Virginia, Cecelia (Kenneth) Stair of Waukesha, Carrie (John) Dries of Georgia and Nancy Hernandez of Waukesha; seven grandchildren, Timothy (Debra) Hernandez of North Carolina, Troy Hernandez of Virginia, Jill (Gary) Layne of Virginia, Christopher and Elizabeth Hernandez of Waukesha and Kimberly and Kiley Stair, both of Waukesha; and five great-grandchildren, Taylor, Kyle, Jillian, McKenzie and Victor.

She is further survived by her brothers, Alex (Genevieve) Melendes of Kelly Lake, David (Susan) Melendes of Colorado; sister-in-law Dorothy Melendes of Waukesha and a special aunt, Mary Hernandez of Waukesha; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband Perfecto Hernandez, son Richard Hernandez, and her brother, Leonard Melendes.

Friends may call from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. today at Randle-Dable Funeral Home, 1110 S. Grand Ave., Waukesha. According to Mrs. Hernandez’s wishes, cremation has taken place.

Memorials to La Casa de Esperanza, 405 Arcadian Ave., Waukesha, WI 53716, are appreciated.

Margaret R. ‘Peggy’ Lee
MILWAUKEE - Margaret R. "Peggy" Lee, formerly of Waukesha, was born to eternal life Friday, Nov. 17, 2000, at the age of 52. She was preceded in death by her parents, Margaret and William.

She is survived by her brothers, Larry (Roberta), Bill (Gail) and Jim Lee. She is further survived by other relatives and friends.

Visitation will be held from 5 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 22, in the Gathering Room of the Cathedral of St. John the Evangelist, 802 N. Jackson St. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 6:30 p.m.

Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.

Tom McGregor
WAUKESHA - Tom McGregor of Waukesha, born on Nov. 21, 1930, in Rhinelander, the son of Thomas Jr. and Margaret (nee Rice) McGregor, died Thursday, Nov. 16, 2000, following open heart surgery at Waukesha Memorial Hospital at the age of 69 years.

Tom was co-owner of the Moreland Plaza Pharmacy, Gray Terrace Pharmacy and the Moreland Medical Center Pharmacy. He graduated from the University of Wisconsin School of Pharmacy in Madison with a MBA. He taught pharmacy management at the school for 30 years. He was awarded the Bowl of Hygeia, a University of Wisconsin citation, an American Dental Association citation and the Pharmacy Achievement Award. He served on the Pharmacy Examining Board and the Pharmacy Internship Board. He also authored numerous articles on oral health and independent pharmacy practice. Tom was a past member of the Waukesha School Board and was a Korean War veteran.

Tom is survived by his wife, Elaine; his children, Todd (Vickie) McGregor of St. Paul, Minn., Philip McGregor of Minnetonka, Minn., and Sara (Patrick) Adams, of Rochester, Minn.; his grandchildren, Erica and Lauren McGregor and Aaron and Samuel Adams.

Memorial services for Tom will be held today at 2 p.m. at the Elmbrook Church, 777 S. Barker Rd., Brookfield. The Rev. Dick Robinson will officiate. Friends may call today at the church from noon until the time of the service at 2 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to the Missions Ministry at Elmbrook Church, the Prison Fellowship, P.O. Box 18646, Milwaukee, WI 53218, or the Salvation Army. Cesarz, Charapata & Zinnecker Funeral Home on Moreland Boulevard, 542-6609, is serving the family.

Erwin ‘Erv’ Martin
FORT ATKINSON - Erwin "Erv" Martin of Fort Atkinson, formerly of Big Bend, died Saturday, Nov. 18, 2000, at the age of 87. He was the husband of the late Wilmetta (nee Kaska). He was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Lois Louisa; a sister, Dorothy (Arthur) Hartmann; a brother, Herbert; and sisters-in-law, Wilma Martin and Lucille Kaska.

He is survived by a brother, Alfred Martin of Fort Atkinson; a sister, Lydia (Louie) Sievert of Burlington; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Erwin retired from farming in 1968, worked at Big Bend Lumber for four years and worked for 16 years at Boldt Egg Farm. Erv was very active in Christ Evangelical Lutheran Church and served 10 years for the town of Vernon Zoning Board.

Funeral services will be held at 7 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 21, at Christ Evangelical Lutheran Church, S89-W22970 Maple Ave., Big Bend, with visitation from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the church. Interment will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 22, at St. Paul Ev. Lutheran cemetery in Tess Corners.

In lieu of flowers, memorials to Christ Ev. Lutheran School are appreciated.

Holly B. Wild
NEW BERLIN - Holly B. Wild, of New Berlin, died unexpectedly on Sunday, Nov. 19, 2000, at St. Mary’s Hospital in Rochester, Minn. She was born in Waukesha on Dec. 1, 1954, to Gloria (nee Zindars) Greene and the late James Greene. For the past two years she owned and operated the Holly B. Wild American Family Insurance Agency in Milwaukee. Holly was the membership coordinator for the Kettle Moraine Chapter of HOG and was a member of Ladies of Harley.

She is loved and will be deeply missed by her mother, Gloria Greene of Waukesha; her five children, Jeffry Anderson of New Berlin, Stacy (Brian) Tarnowski of Waukesha, Donald Anderson Jr. of Madison, Racquel Estrada of Kansas City, Kan., and Joshua Wild of North Vernon, Ind.; and two grandchildren, Rianna Seidens and Brady Tarnowski. Hollly is further survived by her brothers and sisters, James (Judy) Greene, John (Cheryl) Greene and Steve (Pam) Greene, all of Waukesha, Marnee (William) Leonard of Pewaukee, Wendy (Tony) Bacon of Waukesha and Scott (Pam) Greene of Waukesha; and a special friend, Donald Bucy of Waukesha. Many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends also survive. Preceding her in death was her husband, Donald J. Wild, and her father, James Greene.

Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 22, at St. Luke’s Lutheran Church, 300 Carroll St., Waukesha. Friends may call from 4 p.m. until 9 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 21, at Randle-Dable Funeral Home, 1110 S. Grand Ave., and at church on Wednesday from noon until the 1:30 p.m. services. The Rev. Rod Resheske is officiating. Interment at Prairie Home cemetery will follow the services

Harriet Cecelia Peters
HOULTON - Harriet Cecelia Peters, 71, of Houlton, died early Sunday morning, Nov. 19, 2000, at Lakeview Hospital in Stillwater following an illness with cancer. Harriet was born on Sept. 28, 1929, in Wauwatosa, the daughter of David and Cora (Collins) Dugan. She attended elementary school at St. Bernard’s Catholic School in Wauwatosa and graduated from Wauwatosa High School in 1948. On Feb. 3, 1951, she was united in marriage to Jim Peters at St. Dominic’s Catholic Church in Marcy (now Brookfield). This union would be blessed with six children. Harriet was a homemaker while her children grew up. She also performed clerical duties for various businesses on the side. The couple lived in Waukesha for many years, Minnesota and Georgia prior to making Houlton their home five years ago.

She enjoyed watching tennis on television, skiing, square dancing, playing bridge, sewing and knitting. She also volunteered for Lakeview Hospital and was a member of the church bell choir in Edina. Her greatest love came from raising and spending time with her children. She enjoyed sewing their clothes and would travel great distances to watch her children participate in sporting events. She also held a special place in her heart for her grandchildren.

She is survived by her husband, Jim Peters of Houlton; her sons, Col. Michael (Aggie) Peters of Edwards Air Force Base in Calif., Patrick (Mary Jo) Peters of Hudson, Terry (Deanna) Peters of Eden Prairie, Minn., and Sean Peters of Houlton; her daughters, Peggy (Charlie Sherman) Peters of Avon, Colo., and Kelly (Roger) Mitchell of Avon, Colo.; 11 grandchildren; and her sister, Katie (Ted) Schmidt of Brookfield. She is preceded in death by her parents; her brothers, Paul and Kevin Dugan; and her sisters, Mary Dugan and Margaret Schaefer.

Visitation was held from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. Monday, Nov. 20, at the O’Connell Family Funeral Home in Hudson. The Mass of Christian Burial was held at 10 a.m. today, Nov. 21, at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Hudson. The Rev. James Dabruzzi officiated, music was provided by Sister Yvonne Roscoe and Cheryl Forester, and Harriet’s six children served as casketbearers. Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 22, at the Wolf River cemetery in Langlade.

Memorials in Harriet’s name will be used to help treat cancer through Lakeview Hospital in Stillwater.

Ida Sitzberger
MILWAUKEE - Ida Sitzberger (nee Meyer) fell asleep in Jesus’ arms Saturday, Nov. 18, 2000, at the age of 86.

She was the beloved wife of the late Walter; loving mother of Robert (Carol), Paul, Carol (Raymond) Brase, Virginia (David) Howard, David (Kathleen), Cynthia (Gregory) Williamson and Rudoph (Roxanne); and dear sister of Evelyn (Robert) Hanafan and Ralph (Marion) Meyer. She was preceded in death by her sister, Marie Peterson, and grandson, Jason Sitzberger. She is further survived by 13 grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, other relatives and friends.

Ida was a former employee of J. C. Penney and a volunteer at Luther Manor Nursing Home and Laubach Literacy Center.

Visitation will be held from 4 p.m. until 7 p.m today, Nov. 21, at the Schramka Herrick Funeral Home, W164-N9034 Water St., Menomonee Falls; funeral services will follow at 7 p.m. A second visitation will be held from 9 a.m. to 10 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 22, at the funeral home with prayers at 10 a.m. Interment will be at Immanuel cemetery.

Memorials to The American Heart Association or Reformation Lutheran Church are appreciated.

Robert Gazinski
WAUKESHA - Waukesha resident Robert Gazinski, 74, died Monday, Nov. 20, 2000, at Waukesha Memorial Hospital. He was born May 31, 1926, in Waukesha to Peter and Ruth (nee Wolfe) Gazinski. On Feb. 11, 1950, he married Bernice (nee Humphrey) in Waukesha. Mr. Gazinski proudly served his country in the U.S. Army during World War II. He had been a member of the Military Order of Purple Heart and a member of St. Mark’s Lutheran Church for 11 years. He was an avid walker; people would remember seeing him walking around Waukesha. He was very well-known and loved by the many friends and staff of Oak Hill Terrace for the last six years and will be sadly missed.

He was the dear father of David (Edith) Gazinski of Waukesha; beloved grandfather of Rachel (Dean) Lemke, Laura and Diana Gazinski, all of Waukesha; and proud great-grandfather of Michael Lemke and Justin Gazinski. He is further survived by his stepbrother, Jack Brown of Waukesha; other relatives and friends. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Bernice, on July 23, 1989, and his stepdaughter, Carol Sizonen.

Friends may call from 4 p.m. until the 6:30 p.m. funeral service Friday, Nov. 24, at St. Mark’s Evangelical Lutheran Church, 424 Hyde Park Ave., Waukesha, with the Rev. James Wilch officiating. Graveside services will take place at 10 a.m. Monday, Nov. 27, at Prairie Home cemetery; please meet at the cemetery chapel.

Norman E. Heiden
MONTELLO - Norman E. Heiden of Montello, formerly of Waukesha, died Nov. 20, 2000, at age 60.

He was the beloved husband of Claudia (nee Sprague); loving father of Deborah (Steven) Banz and Jeffrey (Tonya) Heiden; proud grandpa of Emily, Joey, Bethany, Sydnee and Mason; stepson of Chester Hermann; and brother of Alfred (Jane) Heiden. He is further survived by other relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be held at 11:30 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 25, at the Harder Funeral Home, 18700 W. Capitol Drive, Brookfield. Visitation will be held Saturday from 9 a.m. until the time of the service. Interment will be at Highland Memorial Park.

Norman was a retiree of Harley Davidson.

If desired, memorials may be made to the American Diabetes Association or the American Heart Association.

Rena C. Carter
WAUKESHA - Rena C. Carter died Monday evening, Nov. 20, 2000, at Waukesha Memorial Hospital at the age of 107. She was born Oct. 4, 1893, the daughter of Oliver and Kathryn (nee Tipton) Hackett.

In her younger years, Rena taught Sunday School at her church. More recently, she taught crafts to senior citizens and counseled elderly people who lived nearby.

She is the beloved mother of Don (Mickey) Carter of Mesa, Ariz., and Mary Kiphart of Waukesha. She will be missed by nine grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren. Rena was preceded in death by her husband, Floyd, in 1966; an infant daughter, Elsie Mildred; and her sons, Robert and William.

Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 26, at Cesarz, Charapata & Zinnecker Funeral Home on Moreland Boulevard. Rev. Warren Bitzer and Rev. Elbert Ison will officiate. Friends may call Sunday from 2 p.m. until the 3 p.m. services. Interment will be in Prairie Home cemetery.

Allen C. ‘Al’ Albrecht
PEWAUKEE - Allen C. "Al" Albrecht, of Pewaukee, died Monday, Nov. 20, 2000, at the age of 64.

He is the beloved husband of 41 years to Marge (nee Scholl); cherished dad and grandpa to Karla Albrecht and her children, Alexander and Athenia Mrotek, Lori (Jeff) Mrotek and their children, Nathan, Danielle and Adam Mrotek; brother of Dean (Evelyn) Albrecht; brother-in-law of Donna Ranney, MaryAnn Genovese and Hannelore Scholl-Merrill. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

The Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 7:30 p.m. Friday, Nov. 24, at Queen of Apostles Catholic Church, N35-W23360 W. Capitol Drive, Pewaukee. Visitation will be held on Friday at the church from 5:30 p.m. until the time of the service.

Al served in the United States Marine Corps. He was the retired business manager of MPI Graphics and past president of the fraternal order of Eagles, Waukesha Aerie 453. He will be lovingly remembered and will always hold a special place in our hearts.

George Remley Hulen
WAUKESHA - George Remley Hulen, DDS, MSD, found peace on Wednesday, Nov. 22, 2000, at the age of 79. George was born in Milwaukee on Feb. 8, 1921, to the late Rev. and Mrs. William Perry Hulen. He was a graduate of Marquette and Northwestern universities. His dental/orthodontic practice spanned 35 years.

George is survived by his loving friend and companion, LaRaine Hulen, and his children, Jim (Colleen) Hulen of Hartland and Lynn (Terry) Bright of Denver, Colo. He is further survived by his grandchildren, Jim and Kerri Hulen and Whitney and Will Bright.

A private memorial service was held at Wisconsin Memorial Park in Brookfield.

Memorials may be made to Cedar Lake Health Care Center, 5595 Highway. Z, West Bend, WI 53095, the nursing home where he was cared for for over 20 years by a loving and compassionate staff.

Brian R. Adamec
NEW BERLIN - New Berlin resident Brian R. Adamec, 24, died unexpectedly Thursday, Nov. 23, 2000.

He was the dear son of Randall (Robin) Adamec and Joanne Adamec. He is survived by his sisters, Dawn and Joanne, and his grandparents, Helen Kastello and Delores (Robert) Curro. He is also survived by other relatives and friends.

Visitation will be held after 11 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 29, at Wisconsin Memorial Park Chapel of the Chimes, with funeral services at 1 p.m. Interment will follow.

He is loved and will be missed by all who knew him.

SEATTLE - Katherine L. Csabai died Friday, Nov. 24, 2000, at her home in Seattle.

Graveside services are planned for 2:45 p.m. Monday, Dec. 4, at Prairie Home cemetery.

Donald L. ‘Doatz’ Franzen
WAUKESHA - Waukesha resident Donald L. "Doatz" Franzen, 54, died Friday, Nov. 24, 2000, at Waukesha Memorial Hospital. He was born June 12, 1946, in Clinton, Iowa, the son of Adolph and Lucille (nee Sullivan) Franzen.

Mr. Franzen was a member of St. William Catholic Church in Waukesha. He was also a member of the Wisconsin Trappers Association and the Wisconsin House Outdoorsman. He was a hunter education teacher and was an avid collector of toy farm equipment. Franzen worked as a loader-operator for Franklin Aggregate Corporation.

Don is the beloved husband of Marlees (nee Turks), whom he married on April 24, 1976, in Waukesha. He is the dear father of Chad and Jaime, both of Waukesha. He is the beloved son of Lucille Franzen of Preston, Iowa. He is also survived by his pal, Buddy, and his sisters and brother, Mary Ann Scheckel of Preston, Iowa, Beverly (Larry) Clasen of Bellevue, Iowa, and Darwin (Delores) Franzen of Preston, Iowa. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Don was preceded in death by his father, Adolph; his brothers, Richard and William; and his brother-in-law, Robert Scheckel.

Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 28, at St. William’s Catholic Church in Waukesha; the Rev. Leonard Barbian will celebrate Mass. Friends may call from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Monday, Nov. 27, at the Cesarz, Charapata and Zinnecker Funeral Home on Moreland Boulevard in Waukesha; a parish vigil will be held at 7 p.m. A second visitation will be held from 8 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 28, at the funeral home. Interment will be held at Prairie Home cemetery.

Memorials to Don’s family would be appreciated.
