Frances V. Houtchens
WAUKESHA - Frances V. Houtchens, of Waukesha, died Saturday, Nov. 25, 2000, at Waukesha Memorial Hospital. She was 77.

Frances was born April 24, 1923, in Monmouth, Ill., to Verner and Ida (nee Olson) Peterson. On Sept. 5, 1948, she married James Harlan Houtchens in Monmouth. He preceded her in death in October 1975.

She was a 1945 registered nurse graduate of Galesburg Cottage Hospital. She was a member of Christ the Servant Lutheran Church in Waukesha since 1967.

Frances was an avid sports fan enjoying bowling, golf and fast-pitch softball. She was a pitcher for a team at the semi-pro level in Illinois. She also enjoyed crafting.

She will be sadly missed by her children: Dr. Nancy Houtchens of Kenosha and Karl Houtchens of Boscobel. Her sister, Mary Peterson, of Monmouth also survives.

Friends may call from 6 p.m. until the 8 p.m. funeral services on Tuesday, Nov. 28, at Randle-Dable Funeral Home, 1110 S. Grand Ave. The Rev. Richard Engen will officiate. Graveside services will take place at 11 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 30 at Monmouth cemetery in Monmouth.

The Randle-Dable Funeral Home, 547-4035, is serving the family.

Robert F. ‘Bob’ Olson
WAUKESHA - Waukesha resident Robert F. "Bob" Olson, 73, died Wednesday, Nov. 22, 2000, at his home. He was born on Nov. 19, 1927, in Chicago, to William and Viola (nee Weise) Olson. Bob was director of public relations and advertising for Rexford Inc. for 34 years.

Bob will be deeply missed by his wife, Patricia, whom he married in June of 1952; his children, Kenna (Mike) Greenmeier of Milwaukee, attorney Kelin (Anita) Olson of Waukesha and Bryke (Bill) Kandziora of Waukesha; and three grandchildren, Jordan, Kelin Jr. and Careg. Other relatives and friends, including L.O.B.S. Bob was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Bill.

A memorial service for Bob will be held at 6:30 p.m. today at the Cesarz, Charapata and Zinnecker Funeral Home, 237 Moreland Boulevard, Waukesha. Friends may pay their respects at the funeral home on today from 4 p.m. until the time of the service. Burial will be at St. Joseph’s Catholic cemetery in Waukesha.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are appreciated to St. William’s Catholic Church or the Rolland D. Nelson Crossroads Hospice.

Adam R. Parmentier
NORTH PRAIRIE - Adam R. Parmentier, born April 5, 1972, in Rhode Island, the son of Hilton Parmentier and Maureen Boylan, died Thursday, Nov. 23, 2000, at the age of 28.

He will be sadly missed by his wife, Sarah, whom he married on August 16, 1997; his son, Tanner Ryan; his step-parents, Phil and Berta Fahlman of Woodriver Junction, R.I.; his parents, Hilton Parmentier of Lakefield, R.I., and Maureen Boylan of Jupiter, Fla.; his brothers, Luc Parmentier, Eric Fahlman and Matt Boylan; and his grandmother, Mary Parmentier of Rhode Island. He will also be missed by other relatives and many friends.

Funeral services for Adam will be held at 7 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 28, at the Cesarz, Charapata & Zinnecker Funeral Home. Friends may call at the funeral home on Tuesday from 4 p.m. until the time of the service. Entombment will be in St. Joseph’s Catholic cemetery.

Memorials to the Waukesha Food Pantry are appreciated.

Russell Scheets
PALMYRA - Russell Scheets, age 84, of Palmyra, died Friday, Nov. 24, 2000, at Alden Meadow Park Health Care Center in Clinton.

He was born Nov. 29, 1915, in Waukesha to William and Elizabeth (nee Dewey) Scheets.

He had attended schools in Waukesha and in 1939 moved to Melendy’s Prairie. He married Bessie (nee Baumgartner) on July 6, 1940, and they lived in Palmyra their entire married life. Russell worked for Waukesha Foundry from 1937 to 1967 and then worked at the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater as a maintenance man until he retired in 1980. He was a member of the Palmyra Citizens Senior Club and was a member of the Palmyra United Methodist Church.

He is survived by his wife, Bessie; one son, Robert (Carol) Scheets of Clinton; one daughter, Suzanne Rudolph of Whitewater; one brother, Harold (Elvira) Scheets of San Diego, Calif.; six grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by four sisters and three brothers.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 28, at the Palmyra United Methodist Church. The Rev. Jerry Lipka will officiate. Visitation will be held from noon Tuesday until the time of the service at the church. Burial will be at Pleasant Valley cemetery.

Dorothy M. Schroeder
WAUKESHA - Dorothy M. Schroeder, age 81, formerly of Eagle, died Friday, Nov. 24, 2000, at Waukesha Memorial Hospital. She was born Aug. 31, 1919, in Elkhorn, the daughter of Clifford and Elizabeth (nee O’Regan) Conner.

Dorothy was a member of St. Theresa’s Catholic Church in Eagle.

She is survived by her husband, Richard, whom she married on Feb. 13, 1943, in Elkhorn; three sons, Robert, Paul (Wilma) and James (Rosie) all of Waukesha; one daughter, Joanne Schroeder of Renton, Wash., one grandson, Jamon; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by three brothers and one sister.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be said at 7 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 29, at St. Theresa’s Catholic Church in Eagle. The Rev. Michael Krejci will officiate. Visitation will be held at 4 p.m. Wednesday until the time of the services at the church. Cremation with burial of ashes will be at St. Theresa’s cemetery in Eagle.

Memorials to the St. Theresa’s Memorial Fund are appreciated.

Alfred Lincoln Stephenson
NEW BERLIN - Alfred Lincoln Stephenson, of New Berlin, went home to eternal life Thursday, Nov. 23, 2000, at the age of 92, surrounded by his loving family. He loved God, his wife, children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He was the beloved husband of 64 years to Gwen (nee Christison). Alfred was the loving father of Donna (Tom) Moore Sambs, Adelle (Al) Sanford and Janet (Bill) Weber. He was the proud grandfather of Dawn Martenet, Tracie (Steve) Brasch, Scott Moore, Bruce (Tammy) Moore, Brian (Tammi) Sanford, Mark (Sherry) Sanford, Dan (Karou) Sanford, Bill (Brenda) Weber, Wade (Tiffany) Weber and nine great-grandchildren. He is further survived by his brother, Willis; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Alfred was born May 14, 1908, in West Allis. He married Gwen Christison in a beautiful lawn wedding on Gwen’s parents’ farm Aug. 15, 1936. For many years they lived in New Berlin. Alfred was a lifetime member of Apostle Presbyterian Church. He played the flute, enjoyed dartball, golf and gardening. Gwen and Alfred had many great vacation travels around Wisconsin and the United States.

Visitation for this gentle and dignified man will be held at 5:30 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 28, at Apostle Presbyterian Church, 1509 S. 76th St., West Allis, followed by a celebration of his life at a memorial service at 7 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, memorials to Apostle Presbyterian Church are appreciated.

Jacqueline Marie Zoret
SEATTLE - Jacqueline Marie Zoret of Seattle, formerly of Waukesha, passed away Thursday, Nov. 23, 2000, at her residence. She was 34.

Jacqueline was born on April 2, 1966, to Thomas and Jeanne (nee Himmelwright) Jung. She attended Waukesha South High School until 1984 when she moved with her family to California.

She will be sadly missed by her children: Lindsey Marie Zoret and Jessica Ann Zoret, both of Livermore, Calif.; her parents, Thomas Jung of Whitefish Bay and Jeanne Jung of Waukesha; grandparents Al (Vivian) Jung of Port Washington and Theo Himmelwright of Waukesha; her sisters Keri (George) Myers of El Dorado, Kan., and Amy Jung of Waukesha. She is further survived by her niece, Grace Myers of El Dorado, Kan., other relatives and many friends.

Friends may call from 4 p.m. until the 7 p.m. funeral Mass on Wednesday, Nov. 29, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church at the corner of Newhall and Hartwell avenues. The Rev. Gordon Weber will officiate. A private family burial will take place at Prairie Home cemetery.

Brian R. Adamec
NEW BERLIN - New Berlin resident Brian R. Adamec, 24, died unexpectedly Thursday, Nov. 23, 2000.

He was the dear son of Randall (Robin) Adamec and Diane Adamec. He is survived by his sisters, Dawn and Joanne, and his grandparents, Helen Kastello and Delores (Robert) Curro. He is also survived by other relatives and friends.

Visitation will be held after 11 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 29, at Wisconsin Memorial Park Chapel of the Chimes, with funeral services at 1 p.m. Interment will follow.

He is loved and will be missed by all who knew him.

John W. Bos
EAGLE - John W. Bos, 76, of Eagle, went to be home with the Lord on Friday, Nov. 24, 2000, at Ruth Hospice in Milwaukee. He was born Nov. 6, 1924, in the Netherlands (Enschede) to Hendrik and Henderika (de Rijter) Bos.

John was a retired general contractor in the Genesee area. John and his late wife, Joyce, were formerly of Belleview, Fla., where they both had been active members of the Belleview First Baptist Church and sang in the choir. He served in the Queens Royal Army of the Netherlands from 1946 to 1949 in Indonesia, and was discharged with honors by the Minister of War.

He is survived by his son, Errol (Sherry) of Jacksonville, Fla.; his daughters, Esther (Patrick) Stapleton of Mukwonago and Penny Bos (Mark Houk) of Eagle; four grandchildren, Shannon (Dave), Jennie, Julian and Lauren; three sisters, Truss Vrielink of Australia, Clara Hazewinkel of the Netherlands and Jo Vander Straat; one brother, Willem Bos of the Netherlands; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his wife, Joyce, and his brother, Hank.

Memorial services will be held at 6 p.m. Friday, Dec. 1, at Mount Olive Evangelical Lutheran Church in Mukwonago. The Rev. Dr. Steven Kuhl will officiate. Cremation to follow.

In lieu of flowers, memorials to the charity of the donor’s choice are appreciated.

Henry C. Mulberger (Hank)
COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - Hank Mulberger passed away peacefully in his sleep Wednesday, Nov. 22, 2000. He was loved and admired by all who knew him and he will be missed.

Hank was born in Watertown, on Feb. 27, 1910, to Henry and Clarabel (Shurtleff) Mulberger. Henry Sr. was president of the Watertown Bank and was also the mayor. His son, Hank, earned a bachelor’s degree in psychology at the University of Wisconsin in 1932 and his postgraduate in 1933. He was proud of having played for the Wisconsin Badgers.

Hank started his own advertising agency in Milwaukee and was an advertising executive for Miller Brewing. During the same time, he encouraged the formation of the first Air Force Reserve Unit in Milwaukee. He served with distinction in the United States Air Corps in World War II flying troop carriers, and kept an extensive photographic record of his travels. After the war he moved to Colorado Springs and transferred to the Air Force Reserve, achieving the rank of major when he retired. He founded and served as president of Atomic Research Corporation, manufacturing Geiger counters during the uranium boom of the 1950s. He then founded and served as president of Alpine Labs Ltd., manufacturing and selling ultraviolet lights. He began working for Raytheon Corp. in 1959 as the regional corporate marketing manager for the western states until he retired in 1982. He lived for many years up Old Stage Road and loved the mountains of Colorado. He was an avid hunter, fisherman and collector. His thirst for knowledge was boundless and he was passionately interested in everything.

Hank was a member of the Order of Daedalians, the Reserve Officers Association, Church of Religious Science, the Air Force Association (served as national director 1946-1956), and was a lifelong Republican. He is listed in the Who’s Who of the West.

Hank was preceded in death by his wives, Lorraine (Mulberger), Margaret and Eleanor.

He is survived by his children, Karen Swanson (Dwight Jack) of Oconomowoc, Michael Mulberger of Scottsdale, Ariz., Diane Olsen of Ferndale, Wash., Sandy Munoz of Shawnigan Lake, British Columbia, Canada, Valerie Inmee of Whitefish, Mont., Peter Mulberger of Colorado Springs and Fella Mulberger of Colorado Springs. Hank also has numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Donations in his memory may be made to the Air Force Aid Society, 1745 Jefferson Davis Highway #202, Arlington, VA 22202.

A memorial service is planned at the Air Force Academy Chapel next weekend and details will be announced later.

Beatrice Schuetze
WAUKESHA - Beatrice Schuetze, 88, of Waukesha, died Monday, Nov. 27, 2000, at Woodland Health Care Center in Brookfield. Funeral arrangements are pending with Randle-Dable Funeral Home. Please call 547-4035 for further information.

Donald C. Smith
WALES - Answering the call of his Lord, Donald C. Smith, 54, died Friday, Nov. 24, 2000, at Waukesha Memorial Hospital, leaving Rosemary, his bride of 33 years; two daughters, Pamela (Rick) Ratcliffe of Germantown and Stephanie (Rob) Bartelt of Green Bay; two very special granddaughters, Kaelyn Rae and Rachel Rose Ratcliffe; his brother, Richard (Colette) Smith of Wauwatosa; his sister, Eileen (Dave) Zimmerman of Marshfield; and his mother, Genevieve Smith of Waukesha. He will be missed by a host of special children and friends whose lives have been changed by his love.

Don will be missed by his fellow employees of RTE/Cooper, where he was the senior facilities engineer. Don grew up in Waukesha and graduated from Waukesha High School and the University of Wisconsin-Madison. Don’s passions included short-term mission trips to many countries to build churches and schools, inner city ministry with children and churches in Milwaukee, and working with The Salvation Army of Waukesha. He was a very active member of the Kettle Moraine Evangelical Free Church.

Memorial funeral services for Don will be held at 7 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 30, at the Kettle Moraine Evangelical Free Church, Highway 83, Delafield, with the Rev. Bud Pederson officiating. Friends may call Thursday from 6 p.m. until 7 p.m.; Don’s family will also receive friends following the services on Thursday evening.

In lieu of flowers, memorials to The New Testament Church/Central City or The Salvation Army in Waukesha are appreciated.

Mildred H. Hillmer
WAUKESHA - Mildred H. Hillmer (nee Hamann) of The Waters of Westmoreland in Waukesha passed away Saturday, Nov. 25, 2000, at the age of 90.

She is the wife of the late John F.; loving mother of John W. (Beverly) of Waukesha and Roy W. Hillmer; sister of Lillian Koester; and sister-in-law of Evelyn Hamann. She is also loved by her eight grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren, nieces, nephew, other relatives and friends.

Memorial services for Mildred will be held at 7 p.m. Friday, Dec. 1, at Beautiful Savior Lutheran Church, 1205 S. East Ave., Waukesha, with the Rev. Peter A. Schmidt officiating. A private burial took place at Prairie Home cemetery in Waukesha.
