Ruth Fischer
1934-2007
Ruth Fischer, 73, Wausau, died Wednesday, Nov. 28.
The former Ruth Klimeck was born October 15, 1934 in the Town of Deer Creek to the late Jacob and Clara (Olsen) Klimeck.
On October 9, 1951 in Medford, she married Marvin J. Fischer, who preceded her in death. She was a licensed cosmetologist and retired after 25 years.
She was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church.

Claude Fallos
1938-2007
Claude Jerome Fallos, 69, Rib Lake, died Monday, Dec. 17 at his home surrounded by his family and under the care of Hope Hospice and Palliative Care. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Friday, Dec. 21 at 11 a.m. at Good Shepherd Catholic Church in Rib Lake, with Father Bernie Byrne officiating. Interment will full military honors conducted the Lehman-Clendenning American Legion Post No. 274 of Rib Lake will take place at St. Ann's Cemetery in the Town of Greenwood. Pallbearers are Mark Fallos, Rodney Fallos, Richard Weinzatl, James Wellman, Joseph Ziembo, Robert Maxwell and Daniel Schneider.
Visitation will be held Thursday, Dec. 20 from 5 to 8 p.m. at Good Shepherd Catholic Church with a prayer service at 7:30 p.m., and at the church on Friday from 10 a.m. until the time of the service.
Dallmann-Kniewel Funeral Homes of Medford and Rib Lake assisted the family with arrangements.

Gerald Turner
(1942-2008)
Gerald Turner, 65, Stanley, died Tuesday, January 22 at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Marshfield. Services will be Saturday, January 26, 2008 at 11 a.m. at the Plombon Funeral Chapel in Stanley with Pastor Matt Miklasz officiating. Burial will follow in the Oakland Cemetery in StanleI. Visitation is Friday from 4 to 8 p.m. at the Plombon Funeral Chapel.

Lawrence Rudnick
Lawrence L. Rudnick, 83, Town of Taft, died Sunday, Jan. 20 at Our Lady of Victory Hospital in Stanley. Funeral services will be held Friday, Jan. 25 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Stanislaus Catholic Church in Lublin. Burial will be in the parish cemetery.
Visitation will be held Thursday, Jan. 24 from 4 to 8 p.m. at Thorp Funeral Home, with a 7:30 p.m. Knights of Columbus and parish rosary, and at the church on Friday from 9:30 a.m. until the time of the service.

Standish Price
1921-2008
Standish Chandler Lincoln Price, 86, Town of Hill, died Friday, Jan. 18 at Golden Living Center in Rib Lake. Funeral services were held Tuesday, Jan. 22 at Heindl Funeral Home in Prentice, with the F&AM Masonic Lodge No. 217 of Medford and Pastor David Ellemen officiating. Interment was at Garden of Memories Cemetery in the Town of Hill with military honors by Spirit American Legion Post presiding.

Velores Long
1928-2008
Velores A. Long, 79, Medford, was pronounced dead Thursday, Jan. 17 at her home. Funeral services were held Monday, Jan. 21 at Holy Rosary Catholic Church in Medford, with Father Gerard Willger, her son Father John Long and Deacon Joe Stefancin officiating. Interment was at Holy Rosary Catholic Cemetery in Medford. Pallbearers were Craig Lange, and Jeff, Chris, Tom, Nathan and Steve Long.

Julia Kopper
1920-2008
Julia Katherine Kopper, 87, Weyerhaeuser, died Saturday, Jan. 19 at her home. Funeral services were held Wednesday, Jan. 23 at Nash-Jackan Funeral Home in Bruce. Burial was in Weyerhaeuser Cemetery.

Ray Halopka
1926-2008
Ray R. Halopka, 81, Stetsonville, was pronounced dead Saturday, Jan. 19 at his home in the Town of Deer Creek. Funeral services were held Wednesday, Jan. 23 at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Medford, with Pastor Peter Warmanen officiating, and military rites performed by the Stetsonville American Legion military honors team. Interment will be at Medford Evergreen Cemetery II. Pallbearers were his grandchildren, Denise Carstensen, Heather Storch, Kurt Berry, Troy, David, Aaron and Sara Emmerich, and Jeridiah, Gabrielle and Katherine Halopka.
Hemer Funeral Service of Medford assisted the family with arrangements.

James Farkas
1949-2008
James Charles Farkas, 58, Medford, died Sunday, Jan. 20 at the VA Medical Center in Tomah. Funeral services will be held Thursday, Jan. 24 at 2 p.m. at Maurina Funeral Home in Abbotsford, with Rev. Robert Everhard officiating. Burial will be at Stetsonville Public Cemetery in the Town of Little Black, with full military rites conducted.
Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Thursday from 1 p.m. until the time of the service.

Alvina Emry
Alvina E. Emry, 82, Jump River, passed away peacefully Thursday, Jan. 17 at Our House Memory Care in Chippewa Falls, where she has resided for the past three years. Funeral services were held Monday, Jan. 21 at the Church of Christ in Sheldon, with Pastor Jeremy Scott Allard officiating. Burial was at Mount Nebo Cemetery in Jump River.

Dale Dray
1929-2008
Dale D. Dray, 78, Medford, was pronounced dead Wednesday, Jan. 16 at his home. A memorial service was held Sunday, Jan. 20 at the United Methodist Church in Medford, with Pastor Dennis Govier officiating, and military rites performed by the Medford military honors team. Interment was at Medford Evergreen Cemetery II.

Katherine Cattanach
1914-2008
Katherine "Kappy" M. Cattanach, 93, Owen, died Thursday, Jan. 10 at Golden Living Center/Continental Manor in Abbotsford. Funeral services were held Tuesday, Jan. 15 at Holy Rosary Catholic Church in Owen, with Father Benjamin Franklin officiating. Burial was at Riverside Cemetery in Withee. Pallbearers were James Riley, Tom Miller, Scott Dorn, Brian Dombroski, Tom Przybylski, Eric Cattanach, Wesley Cattanach and John Glenzer.
Maurina/Community Funeral Home assisted the family with arrangements.

Leon Werner
1926-2008
Leon E. Werner, 82, Medford, died Monday, Jan. 14 surrounded by his family at Aspirus Wausau Hospital, where he had been a patient for the past day. Funeral services will be held Saturday, Jan. 19 at 11 a.m. at Immanuel Evangelical Lutheran Church in Medford, with Rev. Paul Steinberg officiating. Interment will be at Medford Evergreen Cemetery II with graveside military rites performed by the Medford Military Honors Team. Pallbearers are Troy, Todd and Trent Gengler, Tasha, Jeff and Jerry Werner, Paul Michler and George Loock.
Visitation will be held Friday, Jan. 18 from 4 to 7 p.m. at Hemer Funeral Home in Medford, and at the church on Saturday from 10 a.m. until the time of the service.

Walter Welch
1942-2008
Former Gilman resident Walter W. Welch, 65, Lansing, Ill., passed away on Thursday, Jan. 3. Private services were held.

Gordon Thielke
1916-2008
Gordon G. Thielke, 91, Westboro, died Sunday, Jan. 13 at his home while under the care of his family and Hope Hospice. Funeral services were held Wednesday, Jan. 16 at The United Church of Christ in Medford, with Rev. Grant Brown and Rev. David McBride officiating. Interment was at Medford Evergreen Cemetery II. Pallbearers were Ian, Andy and Tom Thielke, Jeff Henrich, Donavon and Jeff Mitchell, Neil Spreen and Jack Smith.

Quinn Sommer
1982-2008
Quinn M. Sommer, 25, died Thursday, Jan. 10 at her home in Rib Lake after a 3 1/2 year long battle with cancer. A celebration of her life will take place at Dallmann-Kniewel Funeral Home in Rib Lake on Friday, Jan. 18 from 7 to 9 p.m.
