Louis J. Robey, 80, formerly of Clarksburg, died Wednesday, March 31, 1999, in a local nursing home following an extended illness. He was born in Wendel, Taylor County, May 18, 1918, a son of the late Louis Roberti and Anna Audia Roberti Veneziano.
Surviving are one sister, Florence Burnett, Clarksburg; three half brothers, Rocco Veneziano, Delaware, Ohio, Theodore Veneziano, Las Vegas, Nev., and Peter Beneziano, Springfield, Ohio; several nieces and nephews.
He was also preceded in death by one brother, Carmen "Rube" Roberti and one sister, Kathryn Roberti Hartman.
Mr. Robey was Catholic.
A service of remembrance will be conducted at the convenience of the family. Davis Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Olive C. Britton
BUCKHANNON -- Olive Charlotte Britton, 71, of P.O. Box 12, Middletown, Va., died Wednesday, April 7, 1999, at Winchester Medical Center. She was born March 13, 1928, in Stillwater, Ohio, a daughter of the late Pirl Stanley and Grace Cline Stanley. Her husband, Dale Britton, whom she married in 1957, preceded her in death in 1995.
Surviving are one daughter, Marsha J. Koon, Middletown; two sisters, Mildred Kendrew, New Brighton, Pa., and Patricia Bowker, New Waterford, Ohio; three brothers, Ronald Stanley, Columbiana, Ohio, David Stanley, Buckhannon, and Denzil Stanley; and three grandsons, Dale Young, Abilene, Texas, Ronald Young, Buckhannon, and John Young, French Creek.
She was also preceded in death by four brothers, Jerry, John R., Maynard and James Stanley.
Mrs. Britton owned the Club 33. She was a member of Fairview United Methodist Church and the Upshur County EMS.
Elizabeth Bunnell
Elizabeth "Lizzie" Flint Bunnell, 80, of 916 Washburn St., Clarksburg, died at 12:06 a.m. Thursday, April 8, 1999, at United Hospital Center following a brief illness. She was born Dec. 1, 1918, in Clarksburg, a daughter of the late Frank Bryan and Myrtle Davis Bryan. Her husband, Dorsey Bunnell, preceded her in death.
Surviving are one son, Jerry Lee Flint; one daughter, Gloria Snodgrass, Clarksburg; four grandchildren, Elizabeth Allen Meade, J.R. Allen, Richard and Micky Snodgrass and one great-grandchild.
She was the last surviving member of her immediate family, having also been preceded in death by one daughter, Nancy L. Allen, three brothers, Charles, Frank and John Bryan, two sisters, Helen Clausson and Margaret Menendez and one grandson, Bryan Scott Dalton. Mrs. Bunnell was a homemaker and Protestant.
Friends may call at McGlumphy Funeral Home, 260 E. Main St., Clarksburg, from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. today and 9-11 a.m. Saturday. The funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday in the funeral home chapel with the Rev. Hayward Minear officiating. Interment will follow in the Greenlawn cemetery.
Pearl T. Crew
PENNSBORO -- Pearl T. "Tip" Crew, 84, of Pennsboro, died Thursday, April 8, 1999, at Parkersburg. She was born Feb. 16, 1915, in Slate, Wood County, a daughter of the late Sherman and Alma L. Clegg Tippens. Her husband, the Rev. Noble L. Crew, preceded her in death.
Surviving are her caregiver, the Rev. Gene Kerby, Pennsboro; her adopted grandchildren, Randy Kerby, Pennsboro, Sharlene Bailey, Harrogate, Tenn., and Darlene Phillips, Vienna; several cousins.
Mrs. Crew had been a homemaker and a former president of the Minister's Wives Organization of three districts, Bluefield, Weston and Parkersburg.
She had been a teacher trainer for both the district and annual conference of the United Methodist Church for Vacation Church School Leaders.
She was a Youth Camp dietician for 10 years and a member of the Order of the Eastern Star, Chapter 26 of Pennsboro and the Senior Citizens.
Mabel M. Donaldson
WESTON -- Mabel McLaughlin Donaldson, 72, of 401 John St., formerly of 292 South River Ave., died at 12:25 p.m. Wednesday, April 7, 1999, in Stonewall Jackson Memorial Hospital, Weston, following an extended illness.
She was born Dec. 6, 1926, in Lewis County, a daughter of the late Marion E. West and Alta Simons West.
Her first husband, Joseph E. McLaughlin and second husband, William Donaldson, both preceded her in death.
Surviving are two daughters, Mary Margaret McLaughlin and Jacqueline McLaughlin and two sons, John and Joseph McLaughlin, all of Weston; and two grandchildren, Jesika and Joseph McLaughlin. She was also preceded in death by two brothers and one sister.
Mrs. Donaldson was formerly employed at the Weston State Hospital. She was a member of the St. Patrick's Catholic Church, Weston.
Friends may call at Boyle Funeral Home, 322 Main Ave., Weston, from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. today. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 9 a.m. Saturday at the St. Patrick's Catholic Church with the Rev. Father James Murphy as celebrant. Interment will follow in the Weston Masonic cemetery.
A rosary service will be held at 3 p.m. today at the funeral home chapel.
Alfred E. Ford
WESTON -- Alfred E. Ford, 84, of Route 3, Weston, died Wednesday, April 7, 1999, in Stonewall Jackson Memorial Hospital, Weston, following a brief illness. He was born July 1, 1914, in Gilmer County, a son of the late Charles Ford and Claudia Yates Ford. On July 9, 1938, he married the former Margaret Jane Thompson, who survives.
Also surviving are two daughters, Sharon Moore, Woodbridge, Va., and Janet Flesher, Weston; five grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren; two brothers, Earl Ford, Shippensburg, Pa., and Billy Ford, Florida; several nieces and nephews.
He was also preceded in death by four brothers and one sister.
Mr. Ford was a retired pricing clerk and bookkeeper for Danser's Hardware of Weston. He was Methodist.

Dewey N. Husk
GRANTSVILLE -- Dewey N. Husk, 93, of Jane Lew, Lewis County, died Thursday, April 8, 1999, at Stonewall Jackson Memorial Hospital, Weston. He was born in Calhoun County, a son of the late Isaac C. and Rebecca Carpenter Husk.
His wife, Bessie Bower Husk, survives.
Also surviving are three daughters, Gertrude Welsh and Sharon Titus, both of Jane Lew, and Madeline Lamp, Weston; three sons, Charles Husk, Tempe, Ariz., Pete Husk, Parkersburg, and Foster Husk, Richmond, Va.; 28 grandchildren.
Mr. Husk was a member of the Mt. Lebanon Church at Kincheloe and a retired farmer.
Cleo D. Lantz
PHILIPPI -- Cleo D. Lantz, 83, a resident of 212 Chestnut Street, died at 8:15 a.m. Thursday, April 8, 1999, in Broaddus Hospital Long Term Care following an extended illness.
She was born March 13, 1916, in Barbour County, a daughter of the late W. Howard and Audrey Post Chapman.
Her husband, Paul Lantz, whom she married in October 1937, preceded her in death on March 1, 1957.
Surviving are three daughters and sons-in-law, Roberta and Cecil Everson, Atwater, Ohio, Constance and Randel Booth, Randolph, Ohio, and Rebecca and Dennis Bednar, Pittsburgh, Pa.; one son and daughter-in-law, John and Janet Lantz, Fredericktown, Ohio; two sisters, Maxine Bennett, Buckhannon, and Clarice Konstant, White Marsh, Md.; 10 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Lantz was a homemaker and a member of the Belington Church of Christ.
John W. Orr
WESTON -- John Warren Orr, 82, of 464 Main Ave., died at 1:45 a.m. Wednesday, April 7, 1999, at the home of his daughter following a brief illness.
He was born Aug. 15, 1916, in Weston, a son of the late Cecil L. Orr and Elise Warren Orr. On June 7, 1945, he married the former Virginia Lough, who survives.
Also surviving are one daughter, Patty Graham, Huntington; and two grandchildren, Bradley Harrison Graham and Ashley Meredith Graham. He was also preceded in death by one sister, Mary Orr Bodkin.
Mr. Orr was retired from the Columbia Gas Co. as a pipeline welder with several years of service. He was a World War II U.S. Army veteran.
He was a member of the Weston Masonic Lodge No. 10, A.F.&A.M., Nemesis Shrine Temple of Parkersburg, Scottish Rite, Weston Moose Lodge No. 1376, Elks, and the American Legion Post No. 4.
Mr. Orr was inducted into the Wesleyan College Hall of Fame with the college football team of 1936. He was also a member of the Emeritus Club of Wesleyan College and the St. Paul Episcopal Church in Weston.
Friends will be received from 2-2:30 p.m. today at St. Paul Episcopal Church in Weston. The funeral service will be held at 2:30 p.m. today at the church with the Rev. Father Marian Mazgaj officiating. Interment will follow in the Weston Masonic cemetery. Weston Lodge No. 10, A.F.&A.M. will be in charge of grave rites.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the St. Paul Episcopal Church.
Andrew Singletary
Andrew Singletary, 90, of 135 First St., Clarksburg, died at 8:40 p.m. Tuesday, April 6, 1999, in Heartland of Clarksburg following an extended illness.
He was born Nov. 12, 1908, in St. Stephens, S.C., a son of the late Sam Singletary and Ida Addison Singletary.
His wife, Nellie Moon Singletary, whom he married April 1, 1933, survives.
Also surviving are several nieces and nephews. He was also preceded in death by four brothers, Sam, James, Primes and John Singletary and two sisters, Janie Sumpter and Pearl Johnson.
Mr. Singletary had been a member of the Mt. Zion Missionary Baptist Church since 1933, where he also served as a trustee. He was especially known for his unselfish contribution of time and talent in maintaining his church.
He was retired after having been employed as chauffeur for the late Mrs. Lynn Hornor and earlier he had worked in the Norfolk Naval Yard, Norfolk, Va.
Mr. Singletary was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II, a member of Beulah Masonic Lodge No. 15 and Mountain State Elks Lodge No. 117, Clarksburg.
Friends will be received at Davis-Weaver Funeral Home, 329 E. Main St., Clarksburg, from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. today. The funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at Mt. Zion Missionary Baptist Church with the Rev. David Kates presiding. The Promise Keepers will serve as casket bearers.
His body will lie in state in the church for one hour prior to the 11 a.m. service. Interment will be in Elk View Masonic cemetery. Mountain State Elks Lodge No. 117 will hold a memorial service in the funeral home at 8 p.m. Friday.
Elva G. Smyth
SUTTON -- Elva Gay Smyth, 92, of Conroe, Texas, died Monday, April 5, 1999, in Woodland Manor Nursing Home, Conroe, following an extended illness. She was born April 16, 1906, in Braxton County. Her husband, Eolen Smyth, preceded her in death.
Surviving are two grandsons, Randy Smyth and wife, Elayne, The Woodlands, Texas, and Bradley Smyth, Austin, Texas; two sisters, Minnie "Dick¨ Singleton, Exchange, and Dae Luzader, Newville; and two great-grandchildren, Nicole Smyth and Kimberlee Smyth, both of The Woodlands.
She was also preceded in death by one son, Jack Smyth and five sisters, Bertha Self, Lina Hacker, Lea Hacker, Mamie Ward and Lottie Singleton.
