Donna M. Williams
BRIDGEPORT -- Donna Michelle Dye Williams, 34, of Clarksburg, died Saturday, July 3, 1999, in Clarksburg.
She was born Oct. 31, 1964, a daughter of Carol Binegar, Laurel Valley, and Homer Dye, Wallace.
Aslo surviving are one son, Chad Michael Williams, Laurel Valley; one sister, Jami Binegar, Clarksburg; two brothers, Mark Dye, Laurel Valley, and Michael Dye, Lost Creek; her grandmother, Hazel Dye, Wallace; her fiance, Jack McClung, Clarksburg; several nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be announced at a later date. Burnside Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
Virginia A. Barnard
Virginia Anne Barnard, 71, of Illinois Avenue, Nutter Fort, died Monday, July 5, 1999, at her home following an extended illness.
She was born in Sutton on April 7, 1928, a daughter of the late Roy C. and Lena Adaline Bennett Miller.
Surviving is her husband, Chesley "Chet" Barnard, whom she married on July 29, 1950.
Also surviving are two daughters, Judith Anne Bennett, White Oak, and Celeste Lynne Perri, Weston; one son, Chesley "Barney" Barnard Jr., Abingdon, Va.; six grandchildren; three brothers, Don Bell, Clarksburg, Harold Miller, Woodbridge, Va., and Hale Miller, Windham, Ohio.
She was also preceded in death by four brothers, Carl, Golden, Bob and Calvin Miller.
Mrs. Barnard was formerly employed in the clerical department with Eagle Convex Glass Co. and was a homemaker.
She was a member and former Sunday school teacher at the First Baptist Church in Nutter Fort.
A service of remembrance will be conducted at 11 a.m. Friday at the First Baptist Church in Nutter Fort, with the Rev. Greg Blevins officiating. Interment will be in Floral Hills Memorial Gardens.
Christine A. Bostick
GRAFTON -- Christine Ann Bostick, 64, of Sanders Street, Hope Mills, N.C., died Sunday, July 4, 1999, at her residence.
She was born Aug. 31, 1934, in Grafton, a daughter of Alice Elizabeth Bond Watson, Wisconsin, and the late Arthur Paul Watson.
Surviving are one son, Thomas Bostick, Hope Mills; two daughters, Virginia Williams, Parkton, N.C., and Vanessa Bostick, Hope Mills; one stepdaughter, Joan Hicks, Jacksonville, Fla.; two sisters, Nancy Williams, Plymouth, and Melinda Randolph, Memphis, Tenn.; one brother, John Watson, New Market, Va., and two grandchildren.
Ms. Bostick was a homemaker.
A private graveside service will be conducted at the Bluemont cemetery.
Bartlett Funeral Home, 202 McGraw Ave., Grafton, is in charge of the arrangements.
Marilyn R. Elswick
GLENVILLE -- Marilyn Ruth Elswick, 31, of Youngstown, Ohio, died at 9:40 a.m. Monday, July 5, 1999, at her residence following an extended illness.
She was born Nov. 24, 1967, in Youngstown, a daughter of Naomi Ruth Thompson Elswick, Youngstown, and the late Millard Hensley Elswick.
Also surviving are two brothers, Hensley Lee and David Elswick, both of Seminole, Fla., and one sister, Glenda Darlene Elswick, Youngstown.
Miss Elswick had previously attended Leonard Kirtz School in Austintown, Ohio, and the First Free Methodist Church in Canfield, Ohio.
Evelyn G. Hamby
BANNER ELK, N.C. -- Evelyn Gay Hamby, 89, a long-time resident of Parsons, died Tuesday, July 6, 1999, in a Banner Elk hospital following a brief illness.
She was born May 8, 1910, in Buckhannon, a daughter of the late Henry Reeves and Mable Bird Gay.
Her husband, William Stine Hamby, whom she married in 1937, preceded her in death in 1984.
Surviving are two sons, William C. Hamby, Mt. Juliet, Tenn., and Harper G. Hamby, Montrose; one daughter, Mary Hamby Shaffer, Charlotte, N.C.; 11 grandchildren, and 12 great-grandchildren.
She was also preceded in death by two brothers, George K. Gay and Henry R. Gay II, and one sister, Mary Alice Robertson.
Mrs. Hamby taught mathematics and French during a 26-year career at Parsons and Mountaineer High schools. She later served 13 years as a social worker and job development coordinator with the West Virginia Department of Public Welfare. At the time of her retirement in 1979, her territory included Tucker, Randolph and Pocahontas counties. She taught French at Buckhannon High School until 1937.
She was a graduate of Buckhannon High School and a 1932 graduate of West Virginia Wesleyan College, where she earned an A.B. degree in French.
Mrs. Hamby moved to North Carolina in 1996 to be near her daughter.
She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Parsons, where she was an elder and a deacon. She was a past worthy matron and past grand officer of Parsons Chapter No. 91 of the Order of Eastern Star, a past president of the Parsons Women's Club, a past president of the Central District of the West Virginia Federation of Women's Clubs, a member of the American Association of University Women, and served several years as a director of the North Central West Virginia Community Action Program.
James E. Huff
James Enoch Huff, 82, of Anmoore died at 1:43 p.m. Tuesday, July 6, 1999, in Clarksburg Continuous Care Center following an extended illness.
He was born Dec. 31, 1916, in Jarvisville, a son of the late Enoch Jackson and Elizabeth Ellen Longenette Huff.
His wife, Kathyrn Belle Morrison Huff, whom he married on Nov. 5, 1944, preceded him in death on April 23, 1996.
Surviving are two sons and daughters-in-law, Larry E. and Debbie Huff, Stonewood, and James E. and Pat Huff, West Milford; one daughter, Mrs. David (Londa) McVaney, Stonewood; four granddaughters; three stepgrandsons, and several nieces and nephews.
He was also preceded in death by one stepson, Jack Morrison, and three sisters, Artie, Millie and Lena.
Mr. Huff was Baptist.
He was a veteran of World War II, having served in the U.S. Army, First Armored Regiment, in North Africa.
Mr. Huff was a welder and machinist and retired from Lang Brothers Construction Company.
Friends will be received at the Davis-Weaver Funeral Home, 329 E. Main St., from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. today. A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday in the funeral home chapel, with the Rev. O.D. Harman conducting the service. Entombment will follow in the Floral Hills Last Supper Mausoleum. Military graveside rites will be accorded by the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 573 and American Legion Post 13 Honor Guard.
Charles Delbert Loar
PHILIPPI -- Charles Delbert Loar, 98, of 624 Peidmont Street, Grafton, died Wednesday, July 7, 1999, in Grafton City Hospital following an extended illness.
He was born Aug. 13, 1900, in Moatsville, Barbour County, a son of the late Abraham and Mary Stewart Loar.
Twice married, his first wife, the former Carrie Blanch Bolyard, preceded him in death. His second wife, the former Dona V. Coffman, also preceded him in death.
Surviving are three grandchildren, Pamela Douglas, Eddie Loar and Douglas Loar, all of Haywood; one stepson, Doyne Runner, Belington; one brother-in-law, Willis Coffman, Grafton, and several great-grandchildren.
He was also preceded in death by one son, Warren Glenn Loar, and one daughter, Lucille Loar.
Mr. Loar was a retired farmer.
He was a member of the Shiloh Church of the Brethren.
Thelma M. Mann
Thelma M. Street Mann, 91, of Danville, formerly of Clarksburg, died Tuesday, July 6, 1999, in the Boone County Nursing and Rehab Center.
She was born Sept. 12, 1905, a daughter of the late James and Damie Street.
Her husband, Mack Ray Mann, preceded her in death in February 1974.
Surviving are one son, Russell Mann; one daughter, Ruth Crouser, Etna, Pa.; two sisters, Mayola Cook, St. Charles, Ill., and Madeline Cook, Chicago, Ill.; two nieces, Gladys Harrah, Crab Orchard, and Jean Cook, and one great-niece, Marjorie Hedrick.
She was also preceded in death by one son, Mack Mann Jr.; two brothers, Park and Bill Street, and one sister, Sybil Tilson.
Doris T. Mayle
GRAFTON -- Doris Parsons Thorn Mayle, 62, of Route 1, Thornton, died Tuesday, July 6, 1999, in Grafton City Hospital.
She was born June 14, 1937, in Cecil, a daughter of the late Clyde B. and Lottie M. Mayle Parsons.
Twice married, her first husband, Harry Homer Thorn, preceded her in death on April 28, 1988. Her second husband, Bernard Mayle, also preceded her in death.
Surviving are one daughter and son-in-law, Anna M. and Brad Barrett, Route 1, Thornton; two sons and daughters-in-law, Ronald M. and Bunny Thorn, and Michael D. "Yogi" and Tina Thorn, all of Route 1, Thornton; four grandchildren, Kelly and Steven Barrett, and Katrina and Courtney Thorn; four sisters, Elizabeth Mayle, Grafton, formerly of Route 1, Knottsville, Rhoda Mayle, North Benton, Ohio, Glenna Dalton, East Canton, Ohio, and Barbara Matthews, Wheeling, and several nieces and nephews.
She was also preceded in death by two sisters, Launa Parsons and Lillian Mayle, and one half-brother, John Parsons.
Mrs. Mayle was a member of the First Grace Brethren Church of Grafton.
She was a homemaker.
Katherine McClain
FLATWOODS -- Katherine McClain, 83, of Ireland died Monday, July 5, 1999, at Braxton County Memorial Hospital following an extended illness.
She was born Sept. 2, 1915, in Erie, a daughter of the late John Fletcher Wright and Etta May Ash Wright.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Jesse McClain, on July 12, 1972.
Surviving are one daughter, Betty R. Dye, Glenville; one son, Destin McClain, Mullica, N.J.; her caregiver, Carolyn Cunningham, Ireland; one granddaughter, Darlene Hardman, Roanoke, and one great-granddaughter, Kimberly Herron, North Carolina.
Victor M. Scott
BELINGTON -- Victor M. Scott, 46, a resident of Route 1, Box 143, Belington, was pronounced dead on arrival at 12:45 p.m. Tuesday, July 6, 1999, at Stonewall Jackson Memorial Hospital, Weston, from injuries sustained in a logging accident while working near Weston.
He was born Aug. 11, 1952, in Tunnelton, a son of the late Robert Melvin and Alice Arminta Cox Scott.
He was twice married, first in 1971 to Anna M. Scott, who survives, and on Dec. 21, 1981, to Bessie Lee Summerfield Scott, who survives.
Also surviving are two daughters, Anita Scott and Tracey Simmons, both of Belington; four stepdaughters, Janie Muncy and Lisa Jeffers, both of Salt Rock, Mary Merrit, Elkins, and Pam Silcox, Belington; five sisters, Velma Johnson, Tunnelton, Myrtle Weidow and Bonnie Helmick, both of Sebring, Ohio, Wilma Hupp, Canton, Ohio, and Dianne Phillips, Grafton; 13 grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
He was also preceded in death by one son, Victor M. Scott Jr.; three brothers, Robert, Dale and Herbert Scott; one sister, Carolyn Bulatko, and one grandson, David John Rosier.
Mr. Scott attended the schools of Barbour County, was an employee of the Lawrence Logging Co. of Belington, and was Methodist.

Pauline M. Conrad
FLATWOODS -- Pauline M. Conrad, 71, of Orlando, Braxton County, died Thursday, July 8, 1999, in the Ruby Memorial Hospital, Morgantown, following a brief illness. She was born March 26, 1928, in Braxton County, a daughter of the late Emmett and Retha Vankirk Conrad. Her husband, Henry G. Conrad, whom she married on Oct. 29, 1946, survives. Also surviving are one daughter, Patty S. Bragg, Orlando; one sister, Beulah Ford, New Middletown, Ohio; four brothers, Lloyd Junior Conrad, Gassaway, Bill Conrad, Aurora, Lane Conrad, Martinez, Ga., and Johnny Conrad, Orlando; three granddaughters, Sheila Butler, Grafton, and Wanda Bender and Danielle Bragg, both of Orlando; and four great-grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by two brothers, Raymond and Eugene Conrad. Mrs. Conrad was a former employee of the Weston State Hospital.
