Myrtle S. Livingston
SHINNSTON -- Myrtle Shingleton Livingston, 83, of Enterprise, died Wednesday, July 14, 1999, in the Morgan Manor Nursing Center, Morgantown.
She was born Oct. 24, 1915, in Francis Mine, a daughter of the late Isaac and Nancy Jane Higgenbothem Hartzell.
Twice married, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Okey Delbert Shingleton, and her second husband, Lester Livingston.
Surviving are two daughters, Helen Saporito, Bethlehem, and Barbara Charlesworth, Millville, N.J.; two sons, Delbert "Joe Bill" Shingleton, Enterprise, and Thomas E. Shingleton, Spelter; one sister, Betty Fluharty, Ohio; 14 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren and several great-great-grandchildren.
She was also preceded in death by five brothers and three sisters.
Mrs. Livingston was a member of the Presbyterian Church in Bethlehem, and the Rebekah Lodge of Enterprise. She had been formerly employed at the Rockwell's Greenhouse.
Friends will be received at the Harmer Funeral Home, Shinnston, from 2-9 p.m. Friday. A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday in the funeral home chapel with the Rev. Max Palmer officiating. Interment will follow in the I.O.O.F. cemetery in Enterprise.

Mildred Simmons
GRAFTON -- Mildred Simmons, 78, of North Pike Street, Grafton, died Tuesday, July 13, 1999, at Ruby Memorial Hospital, Morgantown, following an extended illness.
She was born May 11, 1921, in Rosemont, the daughter of the late Ullie Clay and Myrtes Frances Moyer Brown Sr.
Her husband, Glenn Wilson Simmons, whom she married on April 11, 1946, preceded her in death on Jan. 29, 1972.
Surviving are three brothers and sisters-in-law, Robert Earl Sr. and Nadine Brown, Grafton, with whom she made her home, Ullie Clay Brown Jr., Michigan, and Donald Lee and Elaine Brown, Grafton; five nieces, four nephews, five great-nieces, 12 great-nephews and two great-great-nephews.
Friends will be recieved at the Bartlett Funeral Home, Grafton, from 7-9 p.m. today. A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Friday in the funeral home chapel with the Rev. Louis Staubs and the Rev. Richard McDonald officiating. Interment will follow in the I.O.O.F. cemetery in Flemington.

Gladys R. Barrett Alkire
JANE LEW -- Gladys R. Barrett Alkire, 85, of Holmen, Wis., died Monday, July 12, 1999.
She was born Feb. 18, 1914, in Braxton County.
She was twice married, first to Lee Alkire, who preceded her in death in 1992, and later to Delmar Bowyer, who survives.
Also surviving are one daughter, Mrs. Jerry (Wilma) Brown, LaCrosse, Wis.; one son and daughter-in-law, Robert and Michelle Alkire, San Jose, Calif.; two grandchildren, Stephanie Malay, Holmen, Wis., and Dr. Steven (Carol) Brown, Tuscola, Ill.; three grandchildren, Whitnie, Spenser and Nathanael.
She had resided in Holmen with her husband Delmar for the last 2 1/2 years. They were active members of Bethany Evangelic Free Church and active in other civic activities. She, along with her first husband, owned and operated a General Store in Brunsville for several years.
Friends will be received from 6-8 p.m. Saturday at the Morris Funeral Home in Jane Lew. The funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home with the Rev. William Hoover assisted by Rev. Carus Campbell officiating. Interment will follow in Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens.

Ella M. Hudkins
NUTTER FORT -- Ella Mae (Pug) Hudkins, 86, of Oakmound Drive, Clarksburg, died at 7:28 a.m. Thursday, July 15, 1999, at Meadowview Manor following an extended illness.
She was born May 25, 1913, in Harrison County, a daughter of the late David C. and Georgianna Smith Swick.
Her husband, Wesley P. Hudkins, preceded her in death on Oct. 20, 1967.
Surviving are one son, R. M. (Mickey) Swick, Grafton; two daughters, Mrs. Ella Louise Banquart, Columbia, S.C., and Mrs. David (Libby) Short, Stonewood; one nephew, Paul Wolfe, Lost Creek; seven grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
She was also preceded in death by three brothers and three sisters.
Mrs. Hudkins was a member of the Center Branch Baptist Church.
She was a former employee of the Mountaineer Laundry with 16 years of service.
Friends will be received at the Greathouse Funeral Home, Nutter Chapel, from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. Sunday. A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Monday in the funeral home chapel with the Rev. Leon Hevener conducting the service.
Interment will follow in the Mt. Olive cemetery near Philippi.

Irene M. Thompson Lawlis
Irene May Thompson Lawlis, 88, of Whiteway Road, Baltimore, Md., died Wednesday, July 14, 1999, in Baltimore.
She was born July 11, 1911, in Weston, a daughter of the late Clarence E. and Bertha M. Courtney Thompson.
Her husband, Thomas E. Lawlis, preceded her in death on May 26, 1960.
Surviving are one daughter, Kathryn A. Evans, Baltimore; one grandson, Zaghary E. Evans; and three sisters, Opal Bartlett, Florida, Helen Holliday and Esta Johnson, both of Clarksburg.
She was also preceded in death by two sisters, Eva Cunningham and Hazel Plaugher; and two brothers, Claude and Gene Thompson.
Mrs. Lawlis was a member of the Church of God in Edgemere, Md.
Friends will be received at the Davis Funeral Home, 443 W. Pike St., Clarksburg, from 10 a.m.-1 p.m. Saturday. A funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday in the funeral home chapel.
Interment will follow in the Floral Hills Memorial Gardens.

Mary H. Alltop
BELINGTON -- Mary H. Alltop, 81, of 207 Serpell Ave., Belington, died at 3:30 a.m. Friday, July 16, 1999, at the home of her daughter following an extended illness.
She was born July 2, 1918, in Gilmer County, a daughter of the late William Waugh and Alma Nora Reed James.
Her husband, the Rev. Harold Forrest Alltop, whom she married on May 7, 1952, preceded her in death on Feb. 25, 1968.
Surviving are one daughter and son-in-law, Saundra and Stanley Coontz, Talbott Community; three granddaughters, Kelly Coontz, Lori Wilson, and Devan Coontz; one sister, Nora Bliss Smith, a resident of Nella's Inc., Crystal Springs; three brothers, William Tell James, Ravenswood, Samuel James, Parkersburg, and Clark James, Glenville; and two great-grandchildren.
She was also preceded in death by one son, Gary James Alltop; one sister, Mildred White; and seven brothers, Parker James, Boyd James, David James, Justice James, John James, Butcher James, and an infant brother.
Mrs. Alltop was a homemaker.
She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Belington.

Paul E. Eisenman
BUCKHANNON -- Paul Edward Eisenman, 85, of 157 Pocahontas St., Buckhannon, died Thursday, July 15, 1999, at the St. Joseph's Hospital.
He was born Aug. 28, 1913, in Buckhannon, a son of the late Vincent and Eleanora Berg Eisenman.
His wife, Ruth Cochran Eisenman, whom he married on June 15, 1938, survives.
ALso surviving are one daughter, Carolyn Bradshaw, Springfield, Va.; three grandsons, Owen Bradshaw, Colorado Springs, Colo., Doug Bradshaw, Annandale, Va., and J.R. Davis, California; and three granddaughters, Kim Le-Compte, Texas, Karen Bradshaw, San Diego, Calif., and Becky Davis, Columbia, Md.
He was also preceded in death by one daughter, Nancy Reibsome; one brother, Thomas Eisenman; and six sisters, Clara Snyder, Catherine De-DeGolyer, Agnes Reynolds, Marie Klinkner, Genevieve Heyner, and Magdalene Barnett.
Mr. Eisenman was a member of the St. Patrick's Catholic Church of Weston.
He attended the St. Patricks Catholic School.

E. Mae Wehner Hayward
PLEASANT HILLS, PA. -- E. Mae Wehner Hayward, 87, of Castle Shannon, formerly of Bethel Park, died on Thursday, July 15, 1999.
Her husband, Roy E. Hayward, preceded her in death.
Surviving are two daughters, Donna (Shomo) Middleton and Barbara Baird, Lima, Ohio; two sons, Roy E. Hayward Jr. and Donald Hayward, Pensacola, Fla.; one sister, Lois Fassel, Lima; 10 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

Patricia L. Mathews
BARLOW, PA. -- Patricia "Pat" Lou Mathews, 55, of 718 Washington Ave., Lancaster, formerly of the Veto Lake Area, died at 12:20 a.m. Friday, July 16, 1999, at her residence following an extended illness.
She was born July 18, 1943, in Clarksburg, the daughter of Helen Hickman Davis and the late John Wilbert Davis.
Her husband, Edward Jaque Mathews Sr., whom she married on July 26, 1959, survives.
Also surviving are one daughter and son-in-law, Gwendolyn Dawn and Terry Barnes, Zanesville; three sons and daughters-in-law, Edward Jaque and Carmen Mathews Jr., Massillon, Timothy Loren and Terri Mathews, Veto Lake, and Michael Andrew Mathews, Lancaster; six grandchildren, Laura Elizabeth and Timothy James Barnes, Jonathan Tyler, Cody Michael, Chelsea Nicole, and Jacob Michael Mathews; one brother and sister-in-law, John Kenneth and Mimi Davis, Miletus; and two sisters and brothers-in-law, Carolyn and Ed Gorman, Bridgewater, Mass., and Mary and Clarence Mutschelknaus, Salem.
She was also preceded in death by an infant sister.
Mrs. Mathews had lived in Lancaster for about 10 years, moving there from the Veto Lake Area.
She was Methodist.
Mrs. Mathews attended the Veto Methodist Church.
She enjoyed flower gardening and doing various crafts.

Warren D. Richards
SALEM -- Warren Dewayne Richards, 45, of Water Street, died Friday, July 16, 1999, at the Ruby Memorial Hospital following a brief illness.
He was born Aug. 22, 1953, in Grafton, a son of Aubry Richards and the late Edna Ruth Fulton Richards.
Surviving are two brothers, John Neil Richards, Mt. Clare, and David Clyde Richards, Salem; one sister, Brenda Lynn Richards, Stonewood; one stepbrother, James L. Cummings, Philippi; one stepsister, Denise Karlen, Mt. Clare; and several nieces and nephews.
Mr. Richards was Protestant.
He was a former employee of R.G. Motors and Harry Green Chevrolet.
Friends will be received at the Greathouse Funeral Home, Salem Chapel, from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. Sunday. A funeral service will be held at 3 p.m. Monday in the funeral home chapel with the Rev. Paul Flanigan conducting the service. Interment will follow in the K.P. Memorial Park.

Mike Sconish Jr.
SHINNSTON -- Mike Sconish Jr., 95, of Jackson Street, Shinnston, died Thursday, July 15, 1999, in Meadowview Manor in Bridgeport.
He was born July 18, 1903, in Greensburg, Pa., a son of the late Mike and Anna Harki Sconish.
His wife, Adrian Courtney Sconish, preceded him in death on July 5, 1964.
Surviving are one daughter and son-in-law, Velma June and Carl Nuzum Jr., Shinnston; one brother, George Sconish, Francis Mine; four grandchildren, Roger, Randal, Kevin and Kent Nuzum; six great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.
He was also preceded in death by two grandchildren, Jennifer and Jeffrey Nuzum; two brothers, Charles and Perry Sconish; and four sisters, Anna Mullenax, Mary King Toothman, Eva Kropog, and Nellie Jones.
Mr. Sconish was a charter member of the Victor Chapel Church.
He worked in the coal mines for 20 years. He was a coal truck driver for 30 years, and a 55 year member of the United Mine Workers Association.
Friends will be received at the Harmer Funeral Home, Shinnston, from 1-9 p.m. Sunday. A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Monday in the funeral home chapel. Interment will follow in the Shinnston Masonic cemetery.
