Ralph B. Seese
PENNSBORO -- Ralph B. Seese, 80, of Ellenboro, died Thursday, July 15, 1999, in Ellenboro.
He was born Nov. 6, 1918, in Lost Run, near Ellenboro, a son of James B. and Eva Gay Layfield Seese.
His wife of 58 years, Beaulah M. Griffith Seese, survives.
Also surviving are four daughters and sons-in-law, Shirley and Jim Smith, Ellenboro, Ona and Billy McDonald, Harrisville, Marcia and Mick Richards, Ellenboro, and Robin and Fred Lambert, St. Marys; one son and daughter-in-law, Randy and Ruthie Seese, Ellenboro; three brothers, Hayward Seese, Ellenboro, Orval Seese, Harrisville, and Wesley Seese, Pennsboro; three sisters, Mona Martin and Thelma Jones, both of Ellenboro, and Martha Cowell, Cairo; 13 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
He was also preceded in death by two brothers, Harley "Cy" Seese and Roy Seese; four sisters, Eva Nichols, Ruth Monroe, and infant sisters, Edith and Opal Seese.
Mr. Seese was a retired employee of the Mid-Atlantic Glass Co. of Ellenboro with 35 years of service.
He was a veteran of World War II with the 2nd Armored Division in the Asiatic-Pacific and the European Theaters as a medic.
Mr. Seese was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 3554 of Harrisville, and a member for many years of the Wilson Memorial United Methodist Church, where he had served as Lay Speaker, Trustee, and Sunday School Teacher.

Mary L. Anderson
BUCKHANNON -- Mary L. Anderson, 72, of Route 1, French Creek, died Thursday, July 15, 1999, at St. Joseph's Hospital.
She was born May 1, 1927, in Parkersburg, a daughter of the late Edgar and Ruby Stevens Starr.
Her husband, Harold V. Anderson, survives.
Also surviving are one daughter, Mrs. David (Helen) Egeler, Alabama; one son, Thomas V. Anderson, St. Cloud, Fla.; one sister, Loretta Pinkston, Parkersburg; nine grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Anderson was Methodist.
At the request of the family, Mrs. Anderson was cremated.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that contributions be made to a church of your choice.
Heavner & Cutright Funeral Chapel, Buckhannon, is in charge of the arrangements.

Kenny Campbell
SHINNSTON -- Kenny Campbell, 66, of Nutter Fort, formerly of Martinsburg, died Friday, July 16, 1999, in a local nursing home.
He was born Feb. 21, 1933, in Owings, a son of the late Alston Hobert and Carmen Faye Swiger Campbell.
Surviving are two daughters, Chaleese Brown, Tennessee, and Charla Beth Campbell, North Carolina; one son, David Campbell, North Carolina; four brothers, Shirley Swiger, Lumberport, Hobert Campbell, Clarksburg, and William Campbell and John Campbell, both of Fairmont; two sisters, Doris Swiger, Bridgeport, and Mary Heston, Fairmont; and two grandchildren.
Mr. Campbell had retired from Bell Atlantic with over 20 years of service.
He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy, having served from 1952-1956.
Mr. Campbell was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars and the American Veterans.
Arrangements are incomplete at this time.
Harmer Funeral Home, Shinnston, is in charge of the arrangements.

Alden H. Dorsey
Alden Hawkins Dorsey, 84, of Franklin, died Friday, July 16, 1999, in the Grant Memorial Hospital in Petersburg following an extended illness.
He was born April 6, 1915, in Fowler Knob, Nicholas County, a son of the late John and Margaret Jane O'Dell Dorsey.
His wife, Orland Rose Ruddle Dorsey, whom he married on Dec. 21, 1946, survives.
Also surviving are two sons and one daughter-in-law, John P. Dorsey, Franklin, and William O. and Linda Dorsey, Clarksburg; three daughters, Mrs. Danny (Mary Rose) Junkins, Arthur, Mrs. Greg (Sherry) Chambers, Franklin, and Mrs. Randy (Angie) Donlin, Fairmont; one stepson, James R. Smith, Hanceville, Ala.; one sister, Velma Hughes, Mt. Nebo; six grandchildren, Jennifer E. Dorsey, Abby Junkins, Christopher Donlin, Heather Donlin, Emily Chambers, and Allison Chambers; and two stepgrandchildren, Kristine Smith and Michael Smith.
He was preceded in death by one infant son, Reginald Dorsey; and one brother, Charles Dorsey, Harrisburg.
Mr. Dorsey was a member of the Franklin Presbyterian Church for over 50 years where he had served as elder and many other offices of the church.
He attended Nicholas County High School, graduated from Morgantown High School in 1938, and graduated from West Virginia University in 1942.
Mr. Dorsey was a well known teacher in Franklin. Starting his career in teaching at Circleville High School in Circleville in Jan. 1943, he moved to Franklin in 1946. Teaching at Franklin High School, he taught biology, science, vocational agriculture, industrial arts, and farm mechanics shop. He retired in 1980 with 37 1/2 years of service.
Friends will be received at the Kimble Funeral Home, South Main Street, Franklin, from 6-9-p.m. today. A funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Monday in the Franklin Presbyterian Church with the Rev. Dr. Brian D. Weger presiding. Interment will follow in the Cedar Hill cemetery in Franklin.
Davis-Weaver Funeral Home, Clarksburg, is in charge of the arrangements.

Harold E. Flanagan
Harold E. Flanagan, 73, of Route 1, Spring Hill Chapel Addition, Clarksburg, died Friday, July 16, 1999, in the Ruby Memorial Hospital following an extended illness.
He was born Nov. 20, 1925, in Parsons, a son of the late McClellan and Clara Cosner Flanagan.
Twice married, his first wife, Ruth Jean Mick Flanagan, preceded him in death in 1992. His second wife, Joyce Runion Flanagan, whom he married on Feb. 18, 1995, survives.
Also surviving are one daughter and son-in-law, Janet and Jim Wilson, Clarksburg; four granddaughters and grandsons-in-law, Amy and Jeff Strange, Plymouth, Mich., Lisa and Eric Leibering, Charlotte, N.C., Rebecca and Steve George and Sarah and Scott Weese, all of Pittsburgh, Pa.; and two great-grandchildren.
Mr. Flanagan was a retired school teacher with the United Technical Center with over 20 years of service.
He was a U.S. Air Force veteran, having served during World War II.
Mr. Flanagan was a member of the Clarksburg Lodge No. 52 Loyal Order of Moose.
He was Protestant.
Friends will be received at the Davis Funeral Home, 443 W. Pike St., Clarksburg, from 4-8 p.m. Monday. A funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday in the funeral home chapel with the Rev. Dr. Eric Faust officiating. Interment will follow in the Sunset Memorial Park.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to the Harrison County American Heart Association, P.O. Box 12110, Charleston, WV 25302.

Carl E. Harper
BUCKHANNON -- Carl E. Harper, 76, of Grafton, formerly of Buckhannon, died Friday, July 16, 1999, in the Grafton City Hospital.
He was born Dec. 28, 1922, in Dryfork, a son of the late Fred and Cynthia Judy Harper.
His wife, Thelma Snyder Harper, whom he married Sept. 23, 1945, survives.
Also surviving are two daughters and sons-in-law, Janet and Jim Overfield, and Margie and Dennie Caynor, all of Buckhannon; two sons and daughters-in-law, Fred and Carol Harper, Biloxi, Miss., and Terry and Anna Mae Harper, Grafton; one sister, Kathleen Wade, Belpre, Ohio; one brother, Khlar Harper, Norton; 11 grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
He was also preceded in death by three grandsons.
Mr. Harper was an auctioneer for 30 years.
He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II.
Friends will be received at the Poling-St. Clair Funeral Home, 95 S. Kanawha St., Buckhannon, from 4-9 p.m. today. A funeral service will be held 2 p.m. Monday in the funeral home chapel with the Rev. Donald Butcher officiating. Interment will follow in the Sand Run Baptist Church cemetery. The Buckhannon Veterans of Foreign Wars Post No. 3663 and Frank B. Barlett Post No. 7 American Legion will conduct military honors consisting of honor guard, firing squad and flag presentation.

Sherman B. Lewis Sr.
SALEM -- Sherman B. "Fuzz" Lewis Sr., 60, of Route 19, Hepzibah community, Clarksburg, died at 9:40 p.m. Friday, July 16, 1999, at his son's residence in Dobson, N.C., following an extended illness.
He was born Oct. 5, 1938, in Clarksburg, a son of the late Clarence and Ethel Murphy Lewis.
Surviving are two daughters, Vennessa J. Myers and Joy L. (Jeffrey) Clayton, both of Clarksburg; three sons, Robert D. (Ronda) Lewis, Dobson, Sherman B. Lewis Jr., and Dale E. (Darnell) Lewis, both of Clarksburg; two sisters, Ruby Mayle and Francis Webb, both of Salem; three brothers, Argyle Lewis, Salem, Earnest "Buck" Lewis, Florida, and Kenneth Lewis, Clarksburg; five grandchildren, Brandon Lewis, Shinnston, Amie Myers, Devin Lewis, Sydney Lewis, and David Clayton, all of Clarksburg; and several nieces and nephews.
Mr. Lewis had formerly been employed as a roofer with the Sutter's Roofing and Sheet Metal Company of Clarksburg.
He was Methodist.
Friends will be received at the Harbert Funeral Home, Inc., 287 W. Main St., Salem, from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. Monday. A funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday in the funeral home chapel with the Rev. David Cook officiating. Interment will follow in the Floral Hills Memorial Gardens in Quiet Dell.

Mary S. Mawyer
Mary S. Mawyer, 89, of Hamill Avenue, Clarksburg, died Saturday, July 17, 1999, at her residence following a brief illness.
She was born May 15, 1910, in Aviles, Spain, a daughter of the late Manuel and Sabina Rodriguez Fernandez.
Her husband, Charles Mawyer, preceded her in death on April 30, 1985.
Surviving are two twin daughters, Sabina Mawyer, Clarksburg, and Mrs. Michael (Trena) Kirk, Clarksburg; five grandchildren, Mrs. Shane (Jennifer) Wilhelm, Mrs. Michael (Michelle) Fincham, Mrs. Joseph (Bridget) Sugars, Robert Kirk, and Patricia Kirk; three sisters, Mrs. Nieves Gonzalez, Clarksburg, Mrs. Eleina Cistaro, Clarksburg, and Mrs. Josephine Fernandez, Clarksburg; and four great-grandsons.
She was also preceded in death by four brothers.
Mrs. Mawyer was a past state president of the Letter Carriers Ladies Auxiliary, past local president of Letter Carriers Ladies Auxiliary, was a member of the Hispanic Club, and a member of the St. James Catholic Church, where she was also a member of the St. James Altar Rosary Society.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions be made to People's Hospice, P.O. Box 1680, Clarksburg, WV 26302-1680 or Boys Town.

Lilyan McGee
FAIRMONT-- Lilyan McGee, 89, of Newton Street, Fairmont, died Friday, July 16, 1999, at her residence.
She was born Oct. 26, 1909, in Upshur County, a daughter of the late Elza and Ettie Ann Goodwin Simmons.
Her husband, Omar Dentis McGee, preceded her in death in 1986.
Surviving are three daughters and sons-in-law, Judith Marilyn and Andrew J. Mullins and Joan Ruth and Gary D. Michael, all of Fairmont, and Janet Anne and David S. Elder, Barrackville; one brother, Willard Simmons, Elkins; seven grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
She was also preceded in death by two brothers and four sisters.
Mrs. McGee was Protestant.
She was a member of the Eastern Star Chapter 34.
There will be no visitation. A memorial service will be held at Ford Funeral Home, Ford Chapel, 201 Columbia St., Fairmont, at 7 p.m. today. Interment will follow at a later date in the Woodlawn cemetery in Fairmont.

William A. Randolph
BUCKHANNON - William Andrew Randolph, of Buckhannon, died Friday, July 16, 1999, in the St. Joseph's Hospital.
He was born July 16, 1999, in Buckhannon, the son of Michael Scott Randolph and Heather Jo Queen, both of Buckhannon.
Surviving are his paternal grandparents, Valeri and Roy Randolph, Buckhannon; his maternal grandfather, Joseph Queen, Vernal, Utah; and his great-grandmother, Joann McCue, Buckhannon.
There will be no visitation. A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday in the Mt. Union Church cemetery with the Rev. Roger Beckner officiating.
Poling-St. Clair Funeral Home, 95 S. Kanawha St., Buckhannon, is in charge of the arrangements.
