Lanta E. Rader
GASSAWAY -- Lanta E. Rader, 91, of Gassaway, died Tuesday, Sept. 21, 1999, at Braxton County Memorial Hospital.
He was born Feb. 26, 1908, in West Virginia, a son of the late John and Rosie Simmons Rader.
Surviving are one son, John F. Rader, Gassaway; three grandchildren, Johnna Stalnaker, Jack Rader and Woody Rader; four great-grandchildren, Brittany, Courtney, Cordel and Mackenzie; and two sisters, Marie Costello and Juanita Tanner, both of Ringgold, Ga.
Mr. Rader was Methodist, worked for the B&O Railroad as a car inspector, and was a car dealer in Gassaway.

Jessie M. Connor
Jessie Murhl Connor, 77, of 307 Gordon St., Stonewood, died Friday, Sept. 17, 1999, at her residence following a sudden illness.
She was born Sept. 19, 1921, in Harrison County, a daughter of the late Thomas Cropp and Audrey Brown Cropp.
Surviving is one niece, Barbara Wright, Anchorage, Ala.
She was also preceded in death by one son, James "Jimmy" Cropp.
Mrs. Connor was a homemaker.
Friends will be received at the Davis-Weaver Funeral Home, 329 E. Main St., from 1-3 p.m. Wednesday, where a funeral service will be held at 3 p.m. Wednesday with the Rev. David L. Hulme presiding. Interment will be in the Middleville cemetery, Taylor County.

Virginia G. Garrett
SHINNSTON -- Virginia G. Garrett, 82, of Stewart Street, Shinnston, died at 6:32 a.m., Monday, Sept. 20, 1999, at Hardesty Quality Living, Joetown.
She was born Sept. 21, 1916, in Marion County, a daughter of the late James and Gertrude West Hearn.
Surviving are one son and daughter-in-law, Donald and Ruth Garrett, Enterprise; one daughter and son-in-law, Virginia and Paul Butler, Shinnston; one daughter-in-law, Joy Garrett, Bemus Point, N.Y.; one sister, Evelyn Williams, Shinnston; one sister-in-law, Jane Hearn, Shinnston; 10 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren.
She was also preceded in death by five brothers, two sisters, one daughter and one son.
Mrs. Garrett was employed at the Glass Shanty, Shinnston, for many years. She was Methodist.
A private viewing and funeral service will be held at the convenience of the family with Pastor Darren Powell officiating. Interment will follow in the IOOF cemetery, Enterprise. Harmer Funeral Home, Shinnston, is in charge of the arrangements.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Peoples Hospice, 3 Hospital Plaza, Clarksburg, WV 26301.

William B. George
PINE GROVE -- William Brooks George, 83, of Pine Grove, died Monday Sept. 20, 1999, at Sunrise Center, New Martinsville.
He was a son of the late William A. and Nellie Bailey George.
His wife, Sarah Geneva Miller George, survives.
Also surviving are one son, Robert Brooks George, Lumberport; one daughter, Carolyn Martin, Pine Grove; one brother, Fred George, Columbia, Mo.; one sister, Mary Hewitt, Rockville, Neb.; three grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
He was also preceded in death by two brothers, Max and Joe George and one sister, Emma Still.
Mr. George was a member of the Church of Christ, Pine Grove.
He was retired from Consolidated Natural Gas Supply Corporation, Hastings. He was an Air Force veteran of World War II.

Ella W. Gonzalez
BRIDGEPORT -- Ella W. Gonzalez, 89, of East Main Street, Clarksburg, died Sunday, Sept. 19, 1999, in United Hospital Center, Clarksburg.
She was born Aug. 2, 1910, in Gilmer County, a daughter of the late William and Susan Helmick Wiant.
Her husband, Jake Gonzalez, preceded her in death on Dec. 4, 1985.
Surviving are four daughters and two sons-in-law, Jackalee Wagner, Fayetteville, N.C., Anna and Ronald Elder, Greensboro, N.C., Karen and Lloyd Nestor, Clarksburg, and Rosella Gonzalez, with whom she made her home; two sisters, Thelma Willoughby and Hallie Oxley, both of Akron, Ohio; eight grandchildren,17 great-grandchildren and six great-great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
She was also preceded in death by one son, William Antonio Gonzalez and 10 brothers and sisters.
Mrs. Gonzalez was a homemaker. She was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church.
Friends will be received at the Burnside Funeral Home, 607 S. Virginia Ave., Bridgeport, from 9 a.m.-9 p.m. today, where a funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday with Father Cesidio Federico presiding. Interment will follow in Holy Cross cemetery. A vigil service will be held at 7:30 p.m. today.

Jimmie Kittle
BUCKHANNON -- Jimmie Kittle, 72, of Nella's Nursing Home, Crystal Springs, died Sunday, Sept. 19, 1999, in Davis Memorial Hospital.
He was born Aug. 26, 1927, in Sand Run, a son of the late Jesse A. and Ina Rowan Kittle.
Surviving are three sisters, Grace, Elnora and Delph, all of Texas.
Mr. Kittle served in the Army during the Korean Conflict.

Phillip D. Kniceley
FLATWOODS -- Phillip D. Kniceley Sr., 59, of Flatwoods, died Sunday, Sept. 19, 1999, at his home after a short illness.
He was born July 10, 1940, at Beech Grove, Braxton County, a son of the late Mona Kniceley Brown.
On Dec. 23, 1966, he married Carolyn Reip Kniceley, who survives.
Also surviving are one son, Denver Kniceley, Heaters; two daughters, Crystal Kniceley, Flatwoods, and Charity Woods, Strange Creek; two sisters, Loraaine Shaver, Horner, and Wanda Snyder, Weston; one brother, Austin Bleigh, Rivesville; and three grandchildren, Phillip Denver Kniceley III, Stephanie Kniceley and Braylee Woods.
He was also preceded in death by one daughter, Mary Anita Kniceley, on Jan. 14, 1988.
Mr. Kniceley was the owner of the Phillip Kniceley Trucking Co., Flatwoods.
He was a member of the Lighthouse of Christ Church, president of the Flatwoods Park and Recreation Board, a member of the Flatwoods-Heaters Lions Club and the Gideons International.
He was a former mayor for the Town of Flatwoods. He was an Army veteran and a member of the West Virginia Farm Bureau.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations may be made to the Anita Kniceley Scholarship Fund, c/o City National Bank, P.O. Box 367, Sutton, WV, 26601

Hope R. Louden
SHINNSTON -- Hope Renee Louden, 26, of Shenandoah Junction, died Friday, Sept. 17, 1999, in the University of Missouri Hospital, Columbia, Mo., as a result of injuries sustained in an automobile accident.
She was born Sept. 25, 1972, in Springfield, Ohio, a daughter of Randall Paul Louden, Shenandoah Junction, and Barbara Profitt Louden, Bayonne, N.J.
Also surviving are one son, Michael Francis Neill; one brother, Douglas Paul Louden, Shenandoah Junction; her paternal grandparents, Paul S. and Beatrice L. Louden, Lumberport; one aunt, Linda Campbell, West Palm Beach, Fla.; and her fiance, Frank Neill.
Ms. Louden was a secretary for Airborne Freight in Chantilly, Va. She attended the Tri-State Baptist Church, Charles Town.
Friends will be received at the Dorsey Funeral Home, Shinnston, from 7-9 p.m. Wednesday, where a funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday with Dr. Ray T. Love officiating. Interment will be in the Shinnston Masonic cemetery.

Leanda B. Martin
FAIRMONT -- Leanda Belle Martin, 69, of Four States, died Monday, Sept. 20, 1999, in Fairmont General Hospital.
She was born Sept. 15, 1930, at Four States, a daughter of the late Herman B. and Delphia M. Jones Martin.
Surviving are two brothers and one sister-in-law, Harold Martin, Mannington, and James and Carrie Martin, Monongah; four sisters and one brother-in-law, Betty Flint, Bridgeport, Alice Martin, June and Ronald Miller, and Goldie Martin, all of Four States; one brother-in-law, Myron Vincent, Fairmont; one aunt and uncle, Hazel and Thomas Peters, Rural Valley, Pa.; several nieces and nephews.
She was also preceded in death by one sister, Rebecca Vincent; one sister-in-law, Virginia Martin; and one brother-in-law, Edward Flint.
Ms. Martin worked at Hando's Restaurant in Fairmont for over 20 years as a cook. Prior to that she had worked at the Winter Garden Restaurant in Mannington.
She was Methodist and attended the Teverbaugh United Methodist Church, Four States.

Edith M. Myers
Edith M. Myers, 85, of 130 Washington Ave., Mason House, Clarksburg, died Sunday, Sept. 19, 1999, at her residence.
She was born Sept. 11, 1914, in Doddridge County, a daughter of the late Franklin M. and Nellie Jane Thompson Elder.
On April 2, 1943, she married Jesse Kay Myers, who preceded her in death on May 10, 1956.
Surviving are two sons and daughters-in-law, Franklin M. and Sharon Myers, Gillette, Wyo., and Thomas D. and Thelma Myers, Kindwood; one daughter, Mrs. Regenia K. Ancell, Hepzibah; one stepson, Jackson Woodrow Myers, Kansas City, Mo.; one stepdaughter, Doreatha Ringer, Terra Alta; 11 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren and one great-great-granddaughterl and one niece.
She was also preceded in death by one son, Larry Myers, on July 1, 1992; one brother, Howard Andrew Elder; one stepson, Jesse Bennett Myers; and one stepdaughter, Bernice Elder.
Mrs. Myers attended several churches in the area, including the Full Gospel Barn on Route 33. She was a member of the Harrison County Senior Citizens Center and the WMU Ladies Group. She was a homemaker.
Friends will be received at the Davis-Weaver Funeral Home, 329 E. Main St., Clarksburg, from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. today, where a funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday with Pastor George Jenkins and Jim Davis conducting the service. Interment will follow in Coplin cemetery.

Edna M. Nutter
Edna M. Habeb Nutter, 85, of Meadowview Manor, formerly of 410 Tuna St., Clarksburg, died Sunday evening, Sept. 19, 1999, at Meadowview Manor Nursing Care Home.
She was born June 9, 1914, in Clarksburg, a daughter of the late Maroon and Mary Hikel Habeb.
Her husband, James C. Nutter, preceded her in death in 1953.
Surviving are two sisters, Mrs. John (Grace) Habeb Harding, Aliquippa, Pa., and Mrs. Philip "Pudge" (Eugenia) Habeb Bryan, Clarksburg; several nieces and nephews.
She was also preceded in death by four sisters, Mrs. Mary Habeb Joseph, Wheeling, Mrs. George (Ida) Habeb Hikel, Mrs. Thomas (Rose) Habeb Ayoob and Mrs. Carl (Sophia) Habeb Coberly, all of Clarksburg; and two brothers, Thomas J. Habeb and Wilson W. "Shine" Habeb, both of Clarksburg.
Mrs. Nutter was a member of the Harrison County Senior Citizens and a former member of the St. Toby's Society. She operated a family business know as Broadway Confectionery prior to retirement.
She was a lifetime member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Clarksburg.
Friends will be received at the Bartolo Funeral Home, 515 W. Pike St., Clarksburg, from 1-9 p.m. today. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at noon Wednesday at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, with Father Cesidio J. Federico as celebrant. A scriptural wake service will be held at 3 p.m. today in the funeral home chapel. Interment will take place in the Elkview Masonic cemetery.

William E. Shinn
William E. Shinn, 87, of 138 Winding Way, Clarksburg, died at 9:58 a.m. Monday, Sept. 20, 1999, at United Hospital Center, Clarksburg, following a brief illness.
He was born in Clarksburg, Aug. 25, 1912, a son of the late Charles H. Shinn and Margaret Jane Faulkneer Shinn.
His wife, Charlotte Ann Martin Shinn, preceded him in death on Sept. 24, 1987.
Surviving are two sons, Charles H. Shinn and Richard A. Shinn, both of Clarksburg; five daughters, Shirley A. Quertinmont and Virginia R. Marshall, both of Clarksburg, Betty J. Gallo, Jane Lew, and Margaret A. Bennett and Patricia J. Harris, both of Clarksburg; one brother, Paul Shinn, Connecticut; 19 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren.
He was also preceded in death by one son, Thomas William Shinn; one granddaughter, Cynthia Louise Warthan; four brothers and six sisters.
Mr. Shinn was Methodist. He was a bricklayer for Burton Lance Contracting in previous years.
Friends will be received at the Davis-Weaver Funeral Home, 329 East Main St., from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Wednesday. The funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday with the Rev. Olen Robertson presiding. Interment will be in the Hepzibah cemetery.
