Nellie DeProspero DeAntonis, age 95 of Westover passed away Wednesday, February 3, 2010 peacefully in her sleep. She was born April 18, 1914 in Bogonaturo, Italy the first child of Antonio and Angelina Masterogusippi DeProspero.
The family arrived in Morgantown, WV in 1929 and started the original Mona Supply Company Family business in Granville.
Nellie married Joseph DeAntonis in 1936 and together they owned and operated Jo’s Globe Distributing from 1956 to 1985.
She was a 1935 graduate of University High School and was a lifetime member of St. Theresa’s Catholic Church, St. Francis DeSales Catholic Church, and a lifetime member of the Catholic Daughters of America. Nellie was a loving outgoing lady, whose home was always open for family and friends to gather. She will always be remembered for her wonderful cooking and generous heart.
Nellie is survived by one son Raymond DeAntonis and wife Jean and one daughter JoAnn DeAntonis Gamble and husband Jack, two sisters, Ida DeCarlo and Jessie Volk, five grandchildren, six great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, Nellie was preceded in death by her husband of 51 years Joseph DeAntonis and brothers Dominic and Quinto DeProspero.
Friends may call at the McCulla Funeral Home on Thursday from 3-5 & 7-9 PM with a Vigil Service at 8:00 PM Thursday. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday at 10:00 AM at St. Francis DeSales Catholic Church with Father Leon Alexander as celebrant. Burial will follow at Beverly Hills Cemetery. The family requests that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to St. Francis DeSales Roman Catholic Church, One Guthrie Lane, Morgantown, WV 26508.

Marjorie E. Deavers, 80, of Woodland Terrace, Morgantown died Monday, May 3, 2010 at Monongalia General Hospital. She was born February 27, 1930 in Greenbrier County, WV, a daughter of the late James and Teresa Coughlin.
She had worked as a technician at the WVU Chemistry Building and loved spending time with her family.
She is survived by her husband, Robert E. Deavers Sr.; a daughter, Carrie Frances and her husband Herman Shough of VA; a step daughter, Tammy Arnes of Alabama; two step sons, Robert E. Deavers Jr and Richard A. Deavers, both of Morgantown; one sister, Sister Ellen Teresa of Mt. Saint Joseph CSJ of Wheeling; grandchildren Heather N. and husband Michael Jenkins of VA, and James D. Leach and fiancée Loren Delaney of WV; great-grandchildren Camden of Morgantown, Kailey and Sean of VA, Teresa, Andy, and Katlynn of AL, and Tommy, Robby, Richard and Rodney of WV; and 2 great-great grandchildren of AL.
She was preceded in death by a brother, James Coughlin.
Friends may call at the McCulla Funeral Home on Wednesday from3-5 and 7-9 pm and on Thursday from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday at the McCulla Funeral Home with Rev. Elmer Nicholson officiating. Burial will follow at Beverly Hills Cemetery.

Roy Kenneth Deavers, age 75 of Granville died Monday, September 21, 2009 at Ruby Memorial Hospital. He was born March 16, 1934 in Preston County a son of the late Kenneth Carl and Opha Ellen Weber Deavers.
Kenneth had been employed at WVU Physical Plant, served with the United States Air Force, and was a member of the Riverside Apostolic Church.
Kenneth is survived by his wife, Doris Eleanor Dulaney Deavers, two sisters and spouses, Nancy and Jim Bellis of Bobtown, and Janet and Tom Dalton of Morgantown, four brothers, Dennis Deavers and companion Helen of Florida, Lance Deavers and wife Diane, Tom Deavers and wife Terri and Bill Deavers and wife Terry all of Morgantown, several nieces and nephews.
One brother, Terry Lee Deavers, preceded Kenneth in death.
Friends may call at the McCulla Funeral Home from 3-5 & 7-9 PM Wednesday and on Thursday from 10:00 AM until 11:00 AM. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Thursday at McCulla Funeral Home with Rev. David Hudson officiating. Burial will follow at the Beverly Hills Mausoleum. The family requests that in lieu of flowers donations be made to McCulla Funeral Home.

Delores Ann Decker, age 59 of Rachel Road, Morgantown died Tuesday, April 28, 2009. She was born April 22, 1950 in Morgantown a daughter of Ruth Slaughter Robinson of Morgantown and the late Thomas W. Robinson.
Delores was employed as the assistant manager of Rite Aid Pharmacy on Patteson Drive. She was a hard worker and dedicated her life to her family. Delores loved being outdoors around water and enjoyed boating, swimming and the beach.
Delores is survived by three daughters, Patricia Ratliff and husband William of Morgantown, Teresa Jones and husband Russell of Morgantown and Alee Robins and husband Raymond Cook of Morgantown, two sons, Roger Decker Jr. and wife Sandra of Beaver, PA and Jesse Decker of Beaver, PA, one sister Janis Robinson of Easton Hill Road, her former husband, Roger Decker Sr. of Harrisburg, PA and four grandchildren, Tyler Decker, Forrest Ratliff, Samantha Jones, and Kayla Jones
One brother, William Lee Robinson, preceded Delores in death.
Friends may call from 3-5 & 7-9 PM Friday at the McCulla Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Saturday at the McCulla Funeral Home with Pastor Tim Slaughter officiating. Burial will follow at Beverly Hills Cemetery.

Margaret Baniak Deem, 85, of Cheat Lake, formerly of Westover, passed away quietly in her home surrounded by her family on Friday June 19, 2009. She was born February 19, 1924 in Morgantown, a daughter of the late Joseph and Mary Baniak.
Margaret was a member of Saint Mary Byzantine Catholic Church. She was also a past member and officer of the Fraternal Order of the Eagles, the Women of the Moose, and the Rebekah Lodge of WV.
Margaret is survived by her children, David Deem and wife Cindy, Sharon Toth and husband Bob all of Morgantown, and Dennis Deem and
wife, Michelle of Lakeport, CA; grandchildren Crystal Toth, Karyn Gross and husband Rob, Matthew Toth, Kane Deem and wife Jamie, and Carrie Deem; great grandchildren William Toth, Vinnie Swiger, and Morgan Gross; her brothers Henry Baniak and wife Darlene, Andy Baniak and wife Vivian, and Joseph Baniak and wife Mary; her sisters Joan Nabors, Carmella Urick and husband Bob, and Mary Ann Ruppert and husband Mike; and sister-in-laws Gloria Baniak and Jan Baniak.
She was preceded in death by her husband, William Franklin Deem on December 18, 1996; brothers John, Edmund, and Edward Baniak; and sisters Wanda Basinger and Phyllis Kostick.
Friends may call at the McCulla Funeral Home on Sunday from 6-9 p.m. with a Parastas Service beginning at 8:30 p.m. Friends may also call at McCulla Funeral Home on Monday from 11:30 a.m. until the 1:30 p.m. Panachida funeral service with Father Mike Huszti officiating. Burial will follow at Beverly Hills Cemetery.

Betty Jean DeProspero, 82, of Alicia Avenue, Westover passed away Saturday, July 3, 2010 at Monongalia General Hospital. She was born May 18, 1928 in Dunbar, PA a daughter of the late Samuel and Angela Padovini Bell.
Betty Jean and her late husband Herman were active members of St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church. She also had served as a Eucharist Minister at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church in Westover and was President of the Altar Society of St. Zita’s Catholic Church in Masontown, WV. She was a kind and loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother who will be dearly missed by all.
Betty Jean is survived by one daughter, Christal Nagy and husband Lewis of Westover; one son, Herman Anthony DeProspero and wife Patty of Hurricane, WV; six grandchildren, Herman Edward DeProspero and wife Nicole, Jeremy T. DeProspero and wife Tiffany, Derek J. DeProspero, Jared A. DeProspero, Lewis J. Nagy and Danielle Cordwell, and Angela A. Nagy; and three great-grandchildren, Herman Nicholas DeProspero, Jane Elizabeth DeProspero, and Boston A. DeProspero, and one brother, Father Ed Bell of Hilton Head, SC
Betty Jean was preceded in death by her husband of over 62 years, Herman J. DeProspero, who died May 20, 2010 and one sister, Frances Park.
Friends may call at the St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church on Monday from 6-8 p.m. with an 8 p.m. vigil service and on Tuesday from 10 AM until 11 AM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday at 11 AM at St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church with Father Ed Bell, Monsignor Don Horack, and Father Mark Ward as celebrants. Burial will follow at Beverly Hills Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made to Heartland of Preston County on behalf of Herman and Betty Jean DeProspero, 300 Miller Road, Kingwood, WV. 26537. McCulla Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Herman J. DeProspero, 83, of Alicia Avenue, Westover passed away Thursday, May 20, 2010 as the result of an automobile accident. He was born June 28, 1926 in Masontown, WV a son of the late Augustino and Anna Pasquale DeProspero.
Herman managed and devoted his life to A. DeProspero & Sons, a distributor for Austin Powder Company in Masontown. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather and was especially dedicated to daily visiting his wife Betty Jean and receiving his three kisses.
Herman served with the United States Army during World War II. He was an active member of St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church, the Knights of Columbus and in his younger days enjoyed playing golf.
Herman is survived by his wife of over 62 years, Betty Jean Bell DeProspero; one daughter, Christal Nagy and husband Louis of Westover; one son, Herman Anthony DeProspero and wife Patty of Hurricane, WV; six grandchildren, Herman Edward DeProspero and wife Nicole, Jeremy T. DePropsero and wife Tiffany, Derek J. DeProspero, Jared A. DeProspero, Louis J. Nagy, and Angela A. Nagy; and three great-grandchildren, Herman Nicholas DeProspero, Jane Elizabeth DeProspero, and Boston A. DeProspero.
In addition to his parents, Herman was preceded in death by one sister, Eleanor Hodak and one brother, Augustino DeProspero, Jr.
Friends may call from 6-8 PM Sunday at the McCulla Funeral Home and at St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church on Monday from 6-8 PM with an 8 PM vigil service. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday at 11 AM at St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church with Father Ed Bell, Father Leon Alexander, Father Colombo Bandiera, and Monsignor Don Horack as co-celebrants. Burial will follow at Beverly Hills Memorial Cemetery with graveside military services provided by the Westover VFW Post #9916 and WVANG Military Funeral Honors, Camp Dawson. In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made to Heartland of Preston County on behalf of Herman and Betty Jean DeProspero.

Benjamin Lee Dittman, age 30 of Jakes Run Road, Fairview passed away Monday, December 22, 2008 at Ruby Memorial Hospital. He was born August 4, 1978 in Morgantown a son of Terry Lee and Lois Marie Jones Dittman of Core.
Benjamin was a coal miner with Blacksville No. 2, was a member of the Dolls Run Christian Church and the UMWA. Ben enjoyed hunting, fishing, riding his motorcycle, but his greatest love was his children.
In addition to his parents, Ben is survived by his wife, of eight years, Danielle Moore Dittman, two daughters, Makenzie Nicole Dittman, and Breanna Leigh Dittman, and one son Tylor Edward Dittman all at home, one sister, Angela Marie Dittman of Morgantown, maternal grandparents, Bob and Marie Jones of Core and paternal grandfather, Charles Dittman of St. Petersburg, PA.
One brother, Chad Allen Dittman, preceded Ben in death.
Friends may call from 2-4 & 6-8 PM Friday at the McCulla Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Saturday at the McCulla Funeral Home with Pastor Jerry Teter officiating. Burial will follow at Olive Cemetery.

Shirley May Dittmer age 69 of Mt. Savage, MD passed away Saturday, January 31, 2009 at WMHS Memorial Hospital in Cumberland, MD. She was born June 22, 1939 in Rutan, PA a daughter of the late John and Mary Laura Boswell King.
Shirley was the owner and operator of Cumberland Hearing Aide Center in Maryland and was a Christian by faith. Shirley loved crafts, decorating and was very artistic.
Shirley is survived by two daughters, Sherry Conklin and companion Carol Patterson of Manassas Park, VA and Robin Falor and husband Stan of Morgantown, one son Michael Conklin and wife Jodie of Morgantown, one sister Margaret Harvey of Jefferson, PA, six step children, Mr. & Mrs. Doug Dillie of Pittsburgh, Mr. & Mrs. Richard Williams, Mr. and Mrs. Mark Mounts, and Mr. and Mrs. Don Davis, all of Washington, PA, Mr. and Mrs. Jeffrey Dittmer of Claysville, PA and Mr. and Mrs. James Dittmer of Mt. Savage, MD. six grandchildren, and fifteen step grandchildren.
Her husband, Albert Dittmer, one son Cary Conklin, two sisters, Helen Cumberledge and Elma King and two brothers, Ed Morris and Fred Morris preceded Shirley in death.
Friends may call at the Kingdom Evangelical Methodist Church, 540 Fairmont Road, Morgantown, WV on Tuesday from noon until the 2:00 PM Funeral Service with Rev. Kevin Cain officiating. Private burial will be in Frostburg Memorial Park in Frostburg, MD. McCulla Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements

Lucas Paul Donaldson, 42, of Albright, formerly of River Road, Morgantown passed away unexpectedly on Monday, June 22, 2009. He was born November 24, 1966 in Mountain Home, Idaho, a son of Raymond Paul and Jacqulyn June Donaldson of River Road, Morgantown.
Lucas worked in management at Wendys Corporation. He was a member of Booth-Union UMC and he loved country music, especially karoke. One of his greatest passions was photography and making family videos. Lucas had a special talent in interior designs. He will best be known for his great sense of humor and his love of life.
In addition to his parents, he is survived by two sisters, Beth Michael and spouse Rick of Rivesville, and Amy “Wilson” Miller and spouse Edward of Morgantown; nieces and nephews Robert Wilson, Richie Michael, Jacqulyn Wilson, and Amanda Riley; and great nieces and nephews Quentin Jordan, Peyton Wilson, Makayla Evans, and Madison Evans.
Friends may call Thursday from 3-5 and 7-9 p.m. at the McCulla Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday at McCulla Funeral Home with Rev. Betty McBee officiating. Burial will follow at Arnettsville Cemetery.
