Jean Long age 89 of Independence, WV passed away Wednesday, November 25, 2009 at her home. She was born February 24, 1921 in Pittsburgh, PA.
Jean loved crocheting, gardening, canning and helped her husband build the family home.
Jean is survived by her husband, Darl Long, her children, Jeanne Noble of McKeesport, PA, Edward Joseph Noble Jr. of North Carolina, James Edward Noble Sr. of McKeesport, PA, and Debra Ann Chuhta of Greenoak, PA, eight grandchildren and five great grandchildren.
Jean was preceded in death by two sisters.
Friends may call at the McCulla Funeral Home in Westover on Friday from 3-5 & 7-9 PM. And on Saturday from 10:00 AM until 11:00 AM. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM at the McCulla Funeral Home with Rev. Junior Koon officiating. Burial will follow at Beverly Hills Cemetery.

Tina Marie Long, age 92 of Cold Springs Road, Morgantown passed away Sunday, February 15, 2009 at Monongalia General Hospital. She was born May 13, 1916 in Dry Fork, WV a daughter of the late Eberry and Myrtle E. Mick Arbogast.
Tina had been employed by the Monongalia County Board of Education. She loved to collect dolls and was a Methodist by faith.
Tina is survived by three daughters, Dorothy Duelley of Morgantown, Patricia L. Tracy and husband William of Waynesburg, PA and Deborah G. Fox of Morgantown, two sons, Darl Long and wife Jean of Preston County, and Denver Long of Georgia, one sister Mabel Gank of Maryland and one brother, Roy Arbogast of Maryland, eighteen grandchildren and several great and great great grandchildren.
Her husband, Walter D. Long, one daughter, Toni M. York, three sons, Walter G. Long, Shirley K. Long, and Roger G. Long, three sisters and three brothers preceded Tina in death.
Friends may call from 3-5 & 7-9 PM Tuesday at the McCulla Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Wednesday at the McCulla Funeral Home with Pastor Paul W. Roofner officiating. Burial will follow at Beverly Hills Cemetery.

Larry Allen Loughry, age 54, of Morgantown passed away Wednesday, October 27, 2010 at his home. He was born March 3, 1956 in Morgantown a son of Arlie Mae Henry Moats of Morgantown and the late Richard J. Moats.
Larry was employed by WV University in facilities management at the downtown campus and was a former member of the River Road VFD.
In addition to his mother, Larry is survived by his wife, Veronica Lynn Lancaster Loughry, one daughter Michelle Clayton of Morgantown, two sons Douglas Brewer of Clarksburg and James Brewer and wife Christina of Morgantown, three brothers Earl Loughry of Morgantown, Donald Loughry and wife Sharon of Morgantown and David Loughry and wife Donna of South Carolina and six grandchildren.
Friends may call at the McCulla Funeral Home on Tuesday from 5:30 pm until the 7:30 pm memorial service with Rev. Larry Morgan officiating. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Larry’s memory to McCulla Funeral Home.

Frances Erma Long Lowther, 87, of Union Church Hollow, Morgantown passed away on Saturday, June 7, 2008 at home. She was born October 12, 1920 in Hundred, a daughter of the late Charles R. and Mae Hostutler Long.
Frances was a homemaker and had worked at the Department of the Interior in Washington, D.C. during WWII while her husband was in the service.
She is survived by her children, Robert L. Lowther at home, Donna S. Tennant and spouse Allen D. Tennant of Pentress, Wendy K. Jenkins and Danny Lipscomb, Cindy F. Schrout and spouse Ed Schrout, and Richard C. Lowther and spouse Cathy Lowther, all of Morgantown; daughter-in-law Brenda L. Lowther of Morgantown; nine grandchildren; and thirteen great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert N. Lowther, one son, James L. Lowther, and one grandson Jason Schrout.
Friends may call at the McCulla Funeral Home on Monday from 3-5 and 7-9 PM. Funeral services will be held at the funeral home on Tuesday at 11:00 AM with Rev. Betty McBee officiating. Burial will follow at Beverly Hills Cemetery.

Larry L. Lowther, age 63 of Kensington Avenue, Star City passed away Sunday, May 24, 2009 at Ruby Memorial Hospital. He was born May 26, 1945 in Morgantown and was the son of the late John and Hazel Arnett Olivito.
Larry had been employed as a glass worker for Davis-Lynch Glass Company and served with the WV National Guard. He loved his family and dogs and enjoyed being outdoors, gardening, fishing, and hunting.
Larry is survived by his wife of 37 years, Sandra Cost Lowther, one daughter, Beth Ann Sawyer and husband Sean of Independence, one son Eric L. Lowther of Morgantown, one sister and spouse, Sharon and Tony Polentes of Morgantown, one brother and spouse, John and Jean Olivito of Brookhaven, grandchildren, Zechariah M. Turner, Ryan M. Sawyer, Nicholas S. Sawyer, and his beloved dog, Max.
Friends may call at the McCulla Funeral Home from 7-9 PM Wednesday and on Thursday from 3-5 & 7-9 PM. Funeral services will be held on Friday at 10:30 AM with Rev. William Fichtner officiating. Burial will follow at Beverly Hills Cemetery.

Leah Katherine Lowther, age 81 of Booth passed away Sunday, September 26, 2010 at Mapleshire Nursing Home. She was born August 26, 1929 in Bretz a daughter of the late Howard and Mamie Martin Deavers.
Katherine loved people and her home was always a gathering place for family and friends. Her favorite pastimes were going out to eat, traveling to family reunions and always looking for the nearest bingo game. Katherine was a loving wife, mother, and grandma, who loved providing a special home for her grandchildren.
Katherine is survived by two daughters and spouses, Diana and Frank Carder of Canyon and Linda and Charles Carder of Booth, one son and spouse, Delmar J. and Sue Lowther Jr. of McHenry, MD, one sister, Pamela Deavers of Morgantown, five brothers, Robert Deavers of Woodland Terrace, Larry Deavers of Largo, FL, Danny Deavers of Chicago, IL, Roger Deavers of Booth, and Cecil Deavers of Fairmont, grandchildren, Charles Carder, Frank Carder Jr., Terry Carder, Steve Lowther, Mary Teets, Leah Lowther and Donald Lowther Jr., one daughter-in-law Barbara K. Turney of Booth, nine great grandchildren, and one great great grandson.
Katherine was preceded in death by her husband, Delmar D. Lowther, one son Donald R. Lowther, five brothers, Arthur Deavers, Allen Deavers, Jim Deavers, Howard Deavers Jr. and Carl Deavers, and one granddaughter, Stacy Boggs.
The family would like to extend a special thanks to Hospice and Mapleshire Nursing Home for their loving care of Katherine.

Bryan Paul Lucas, age 42 of Westover passed away Tuesday, February 02, 2010 at his home. He was born September 17, 1967 in Morgantown a son of Paul D. Lucas and wife Betty of Westover and the late Janice Bee Aiden.
Bryan was a 1985 graduate of UHS, a 2009 graduate of WVU with a BA Degree in Multidisciplinary Studies and had been employed at the Morgantown Utility Board for over 21 years.
Bryan’s greatest love was sports and coaching. He was the founder of the Westover Sluggerz Baseball team and for the past twelve years, Bryan could always be found patrolling the diamonds of the WesMon Baseball Association or the Granville Youth League where he coached for the past twelve years. A true outdoorsman, Bryan also enjoyed hunting, fishing, as well as playing softball.
In addition to his father Paul, Bryan is survived by his wife of fourteen years, Denise Coral Beisel Lucas, two sons, Nicholas Alexander Lucas and Tristan Michael Lucas, two sisters and spouses, Deanna and Charlie Rowan of Morgantown and Barbara and David Shaver of Fairmont, two brothers and spouses, Dean and Jackie Lucas of Morgantown and Rick and Heather Lucas of Morgantown, two step sisters and spouses, Melanie and James Host of Morgantown and Kelly and Michael Griffin of Maryland and two step-brothers and spouses, Jeff and Cheryl Poling of Morgantown and Timothy and Cheryl Poling of Morgantown.
Bryan was also preceded in death by his grandparents, Dave and Bertha Lucas and Henrietta Porter.
Friends may call at the Kingdom Evangelical Methodist Church, 540 Fairmont Road, Westover on Thursday from 3-5 & 7-9 PM. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Friday at the Kingdom Evangelical Methodist Church with Rev. Kevin Cain and Rev. David Hudson officiating. Burial will follow at East Oak Grove Cemetery. Because of Bryan’s love for youth sports the family requests that in lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Wesmon Youth Association, P.O. Box 1244, Westover, WV 26501. McCulla Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements

Herman Luhm age 91 of Claremont, CA formerly of Morgantown went to be with the Lord on Thursday, June 12, 2008. He was born July 27, 1916 in San Diego, one of five children born to Paul and Louisa Luhm, who passed away, before he was eight years old. He then lived with his aunt and uncle, where having 19 at the dinner table was a daily event.
Herman spent his early years in San Diego, and during that time he trusted the Lord Jesus as his Savior. Later, he enrolled in the Bible Institute of Los Angeles, and eventually graduated from Columbia Bible College in South Carolina, graduating with a BS in Bible Education. After graduation he taught Bible courses in the public schools in the Appalachia region of Kentucky and surrounding areas. His early pioneering days included riding horseback to visit many households in the Jackson, KY area. Herman enjoyed the work of visitation during the many years of his ministry.
His pioneering work led to the planting of local churches, including Riverview Chapel in Hinton, WV, Welton Bible Chapel in Mullins, WV and Crescent Hills Chapel in Westover, WV. Herman came to Morgantown in the late 50’s and served in a pastoral and teaching ministry at Crescent Hills Chapel for more than 40 years. He retired in 2004, spending his final years at the Western Assemblies Home in Claremont, California where he continued teaching the Bible until shortly before his death. Herman will be greatly missed by the many whose lives he touched for the Lord.
Three sisters, Sarah Luhm, Rachel Davidson and Eunice Rish and one brother, David Luhm, preceded Herman in death.
Friends may call from 6-9 PM Thursday at the McCulla Funeral Home and on Friday at the Crescent Hills Chapel from 11:00 AM until the 1:00 PM Funeral service with the men of the Chapel officiating. Burial will follow at East Oak Grove Cemetery.

Judy Main, age 56 of Alpine Street, Morgantown passed away Wednesday, September 30, 2009 at Monongalia General Hospital. She was born October 25, 1952 in McKeesport, PA a daughter of the late Kenneth and Rose Cardo Cashdollar.
Judy was a homemaker whose favorite pastime was playing bingo.
Her husband of thirty-five years, Russell L. Main and one son Kenneth C. Main survives Judy.
Friends may call at the McCulla Funeral Home on Friday from 6-9 PM. Cremation services will be provided following the visitation

Robert R. Mankins, age 67 of the Fairmont Road, Westover passed away Thursday, May 1, 2008 at Ruby Memorial Hospital. He was born July 18, 1940 in Tunnelton, WV a son of the late Claude and Maxine Ennis Mankins.
Robert was a United States Air Force Veteran, serving with the Presidential Unit at Andrews Air Force Base. Following his military service, Robert was employed by the United States Postal service as a carrier and then as a security guard for Security Consulting Group at the Morgantown office. Robert was an outgoing person, who loved his friends and cared about them dearly. His hobbies were making his wonderful pumpkin pies and enjoying his friends.
Robert is survived by his wife of twenty-eight years Sandra Wood Mankins, three daughters, Debbie and Ronald Fetsch of Hereford, TX, Trinka and Gary Castle of Thayne WY, and Eliska Hahn of Morgantown, one son Danny Mankins of Boise City, OK, two sisters Mary Ellen Mankins and Ruth Ann Mankins both of Baltimore, MD, one brother, Richard and Betty Mankins of Morgantown, five grandchildren, Joshua Fetsch and wife Amy, Kyle Fetsch, Brandy Mankins, Steven Hahn, and Talia Betourney, and two great grandchildren, Jaxon Fetsch and Jayton Fetsch due June 22, one niece, Belinda Beers and husband Richard of Westover and William Mankins of Westover.
Two brothers, James Mankins and Claude Mankins Jr and one nephew, Greg Mankins preceded him in death.
Friends may call at the McCulla Funeral Home in Morgantown, WV on Sunday from 2-9 PM. Funeral services will be held on Monday at 11:00 AM at the McCulla Funeral Home with Rev. Robert Uphold officiating. Burial will follow at the WV National Cemetery in Pruntytown with military honors.

Julia Markland, age 90 of Granville passed away Thursday, July 10, 2008 at Sundale Nursing Home. She was born November 18, 1917 in Akron, OH a daughter of the late Louis and Julia Siga Vargo.
Julia had been employed at Goodyear Tire in Akron and had also been a cook for the Alpha Delta Phi Sorority. Her favorite hobbies were sewing and quilting.
Three sisters survive Julia, Elizabeth Riley of the Grafton Road, Esther Hiser of Westover and Lydia Hoffmeyer of Minerva, OH and several nieces and nephews.
Her husband, Arthur Homer Markland and two brothers, Louis Vargo and Paul Vargo preceded Julia in death.
Friends may call from 3-5 & 7-9 PM Sunday at the McCulla Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Monday at the McCulla Funeral Home with Rev. Paul Hoffmeyer officiating. Burial will follow at Bethel Cemetery.
