Steve Miker, Sr. - On Saturday, September 11, 2010, Steve Miker, Sr. age 92 went to his heavenly home. He was born January 31, 1918 in Cleveland, Ohio a son of the late John and Catherine Nagy Miker.
Steve was retired from the South Union Coal Company. He was a member of the UMWA District 31, Laborers union 379, and the VFW. He was also an active member of the Booth-Union Methodist Church, where he taught Sunday school for many years.
Steve served in the US Army, Battery B, 541st Field Artillery Bn. From March 5, 1942 to November 6, 1944. Those who have tasted Steve’s cooking will not be surprised to learn that while serving in the Army, he attended Baker and Cooks School where he was the top honor graduate in the cooks course.
Steve loved to garden and share his fresh produce with family, friends, and neighbors. He thoroughly enjoyed fishing at the Opekiska Lock and Dam and enjoyed watching Mountaineer football and basketball.
Steve is survived by one son, Steve Miker, Jr. and wife Joyce of Shinnston, two daughters, Karen Nichols and husband Gary of Fairmont and Debra Cline of Westover, seven grandchildren, Melissa, Chrissy, Tiffany and Josh Nichols, Julie, Eric, and Donielle Miker.
Steve was preceded in death by his wife Evelyn, son-in-law Ronald Cline, brothers John Jr., Joseph, and George and sisters Rose, Elizabeth and Margaret.
The family would like to extend a special thanks to Dr. Brian Arthurs for his kindness and caring and to Mon General Hospital for their loving care and hospitality.
Friends may call at the McCulla Funeral Home, 770 Fairmont Road, Morgantown from 2-9 PM Tuesday and on Wednesday from 11:30-1:30 PM. Funeral services will be held at 1:30 PM Wednesday at the McCulla Funeral Home with Rev. Larry Peters officiating. Burial will follow at Beverly Hills Cemetery with graveside military services provided by the Westover VFW Post # 9916 and WVANG Military Funeral Honors, Camp Dawson. The family requests that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the Booth-Union Methodist Church, 94 Union Church Hollow Rd., Morgantown, WV 26501.

Anna L. Mayfield, 72 of Pixler Hill Road, Morgantown passed away Sunday, November 29, 2009 at Monongalia General Hospital. She was born February 8, 1937 in Morgantown a daughter of Bill Murray of Morgantown and the late Rachel McCrobie Murray.
Anna was an outgoing person who loved being with her family and friends and she also enjoyed reading. She was employed at various well known businesses in the Morgantown area. She worked at Morgan Shirt, Hills and Hecks department store and Century Cable. She later worked with her brother at Nationwide Insurance and lastly at Valley and Morgantown Mental Health.
In addition to her father, Anna is survived by one daughter and spouse, Charlotte and Howard “ Kirby” Anderson of Morgantown, one son and spouse, Mark and Beth Ann Mayfield of Morgantown, one sister and spouse, Lucille and Bob Cassino of Morgantown, three brothers and two spouses, Lorn and Kathy Murray of Morgantown, Art and Kay Murray of Morgantown, and Terry Murray of Morgantown, and two grandchildren, Stacy Boyce and Latashia Mayfield.
Anna was preceded in death by her husband, Edward E. “Sonny” Mayfield and one brother, Sam Murray.
Friends may call from 3-5 & 7-9 PM Tuesday at the McCulla Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Wednesday at the McCulla Funeral Home with Rev. Kevin Cain officiating. Burial will follow at Nicholson Chapel Cemetery.

Larry E. Mayle, age 65 of Morgantown passed away Friday, March 19, 2010 at his home. He was born March 8, 1945 in Granville a son of the late George Junior and Arlena Rogers Mayle.
Larry was the owner and operator of L & M Trucking of Youngstown, OH
Larry is survived by one daughter, Judy Lee Pizzini of Harrisonburg, VA, three sons Robert E. Carr of Elkton, VA, Larry E. Mayle Jr. of Maidsville and William J. Mayle of Elkton, VA, one sister Judy May Crislip of Maidsville, one brother, George E. Mayle of Morgantown, fourteen grandchildren and one great grandchild.
Friends may call at the McCulla Funeral Home on Tuesday from 11:00 AM until 1:00 PM. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM Tuesday at the McCulla Funeral Home with Rev. Sherman Riggleman officiating. Burial will follow at Greene County Memorial Park in Jefferson, PA.

John Robert McCoy II, 45, of Wisconsin Ave., passed away on Wednesday, August 19, 2009 at home following a valiant struggle with diabetes. John is the son of Mary Kirby of Morgantown and the late Robert McCoy.
In addition to his mother, his beloved wife Jacquelyn Mary Jane survives John. Also surviving are three uncles, Michael, Louris and Peter Thomas, his mother-in-law Angelina Ingram, and sisters-in-law, Allena, Wendy, Jennifer, and Beth.
Cremation services have been provided by McCulla Funeral Home. The family requests any donations be made in his memory to the Morgantown Hospice.

Mark Douglas McIntyre, 52, of Northwoods Avenue, Cheat Lake, departed this life on Monday, December 7, following a long battle with cancer.
Born June 3, 1957, in Morgantown, Mark was a 1975 graduate of Morgantown High School and a 1981 graduate of the WVU School of Pharmacy. He was employed as a nuclear pharmacist at IBA in Morgantown. Previously, he had worked for many years as a pharmacist at Kroger’s on Patteson Drive.
Mark is survived by his wife of 16 years, Mary Jo, and their three children, nine-year-old triplets, Michael, Angela, and Katelyn. He is also survived by his mother, Juanita Linger of Morgantown, and sister, Linda Seger of Littleton, N.C.
He was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Amy Teresa, by his father, Lee McIntyre of Morgantown, his stepfather, Bill Linger of Morgantown, and his stepmother, Wilma McIntyre of Morgantown.
A lifelong pinball enthusiast and expert, Mark was an acclaimed collector of pinball machines and an active participant in a national pinball newsgroup. He also loved travel, working on home improvement projects, and spending time with his family.
Friends may call at the McCulla Funeral Home from 3-5 & 7-9 PM Thursday and on Friday from 10:00 AM until 11:00 AM. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Friday at the McCulla Funeral Home with Rev. Tim Halloran officiating. Private interment will be held at St. Mary’s Peace Mausoleum at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that contributions be made to Hospice Care Corporation, 3363 University Ave., Morgantown, WV 26505,

John E. McKinney, age 59 of Riverview Avenue, Westover passed away Sunday, May 4, 2008 at Monongalia General Hospital. He was born November 9, 1948 in Morgantown a son of the late Dale and Virginia McKinney.
John was a longtime technician and sound engineer for WV Radio and Mountaineer Sports Network for nearly forty years. He enjoyed hunting and fishing and loved woodworking.
John is survived by his wife Pam Barnhouse McKinney, one son John A. Mckinney and companion Tracie of Morgantown, one step son Michael Tennant of Westover, one step daughter, Kim Yoney and husband Robby of Morgantown, two sisters, Shelia and Mike DuPlantis of Winchester, VA and Edith and Fred Vasco of Laurel, MD and one brother-in-law, Tom Barnhouse of Morgantown.
Friends may call at the McCulla Funeral Home on Tuesday from 7-9 PM and Wednesday from 3-5 & 7-9 PM. and at the Kingdom Evangelical Methodist church, 540 Fairmont Road, Westover on Thursday, May 8, 2008 from 1:00 PM until the 2:00 PM Funeral service with Pastor Kevin Cain officiating. Burial will follow at Bethel Cemetery. In lieu of flowers the family request that donations be made in John’s memory to SteppingStones, 400 Mylan Park Lane, Morgantown, WV 26501.

William Molla, Sr., 86, of Morgantown was surrounded by his loving family as he was ushered into the presence of the Lord on Monday, November 26, 2012 at Mon General Hospital. Bill was born on December 16, 1925 in Briar Hill, PA to the late Livio and Carmella Marie Spossey Molla.
Bill was a 1943 graduate of Morgantown High School and attended WVU where he studied pre-med. Bill was also a veteran of the United States Marine Corps, serving during the Korean War.
Bill was the owner of Independent Dressed Beef and Molla’s Banquet Center in Westover. He was a natural leader and worked hard to contribute to society in his working and civic career. Bill was a charter member of the Westover Rotary Club where he served as President and was a Paul Harris Fellow. He was a kind and generous man who spent many years at Christmas time opening his banquet center for the Westover Rotary club’s grade school Christmas party. He was also a member of the Knights of Columbus, Elks, Moose, and the American Legion. One of Bill’s favorite past times was collecting antique cars. He was also a member of St. John’s University Parish in Morgantown.
Bill is survived by his loving wife of 66 years, Dixie Jean McConnaughey Molla; his son and daughter-in-law, Mr. & Mrs. William D. and Jill Molla of Morgantown; two granddaughters and spouses, Mr. & Mrs. Kevin & Tara Tipton and spouse Dr. and Mrs. Thomas and Deidra Marhsall, all of Morgantown; great-grandchildren Karleigh and Jackson Tipton and Ava and Andrew Marshall. His siblings, Julie Archell, Louis Molla, Livio Molla, Jr., Adella Molla, John Molla, and Elvira Fablo.
In addition to his parents, Bill was preceded in death by four siblings; two infant brothers and sisters, Jean Spitznogle and Florence Paradise.
Friends may call at McCulla Funeral Home on Thursday, November 29, 2012 from 3-5 & 7-9 pm. Funeral services will be held at McCulla Funeral Home on Friday, November 30 at 11:00am with Richard Moore officiating. Burial will follow at Beverly Hills Cemetery.

Ellis L. Mitchell, 80, of Morgantown, passed away on November 22, 2010 at Rolling Meadows Nursing Home, in Waynesburg, PA. He was born to the late James E. and Margaret A. Kelly Mitchell on August 28, 1930 in Morgantown, WV.
Ellis was a retired health supervisor for MSHA District 3 and an avid Mountaineer and Steelers football fan. Ellis was a loving husband, father, and grandfather.
Ellis is survived by two sons Derris Mitchell of Bonita Springs, FL and Dennis Mitchell, of Morgantown; five grandchildren Patty Sines, Tressie Mitchell, James Mitchell, Alice Bartholomew, and Sheri Owens; and twelve great grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, Ellis was preceded in death by the love of his life, whom he was still deeply in love with, Eileen Phillips Mitchell, who died on September, 11, 2006; one daughter Deniece L. Mitchell; one sister, Pat Mitchell; and one brother Vick Mitchell.
As per Ellis’s reguest, McCulla Funeral Home has provided cremation services.

Glenn F. Miller Sr., 81 of Granville passed away Sunday, August 2, 2009 at his residence with family and friends by his side. He was born July 21, 1928 in Point Marion, PA a son of the late Jasper and Ida Woody Miller.
Glenn served over twenty years in the United States Air Force and was a veteran of the Korean and Vietnam wars. He was a member of Hagans Christian Church, the VFW, and also volunteered for several years at WNPB. Glenn loved making crafts and watching all sports. He had a collection of over one hundred unique wall clocks and was also known by his CB handle, “Little Brown Jug.”
Glenn is survived by two sons, Glenn Miller Jr. and his wife Joan of Rivesville, Gary Miller and his wife Barbara of Morgantown; two daughters, Vickey Miller Hoyle and husband Rodney of Granville, and Debra Miller Slagle and husband Howard of Granville; five grandchildren Brian Miller and wife JoBeth, Stephanie Miller, Tristan Miller Wierbonski, Makayla Hoyle, Kiana Hoyle, and one great grandson Bryce Miller, and one step granddaughter Braiden Slagle; brothers Dusty Miller and wife Marie of Morgantown, Bobby Miller and Renee of Crescent City, FL, sisters Pauline Morris of Jacksonville, FL and Rosalee “Poochie” Sawyer and husband Larry of Morgantown; a very special niece Carolyn Pyles and several additional nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, Glenn was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 33 years, Barbara A. Miller (1988), one son Kevin R. Miller (1983), two brothers-in-law Donald Morris and Melvin C. “Pluto” Lewis, and one niece, Diana Lewis.
The family would like to thank the wonderful people of Morgantown Hospice, Dr. Beall and his staff and the doctors at Monongalia General Hospital for their loving care and support of Glenn Sr. and his family. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his memory to Hagans Christian Church to support the food pantry, youth ministry, and church. c/o Loretta Davis, 10 Lee St., Westover, WV 26501.

A. Donham officiating. Burial will follow at Beverly Hills Cemetery with military graveside honors provided by the Westover VFW Post # 9916 and the WVANG Military Honors, Camp Dawson.

Randell L. Moore, age 62 of Alum Street, Morgantown passed away Friday, February 26, 2010 at Ruby Memorial Hospital. He was born August 20, 1947 in Manila, AR, a son of the late Virgil D. and Ardell Harris Moore.
Randell was a retired United States Navy serviceman, who had also served with the Marine Corps. He was a member of the Church of Christ on Madigan and Scott Ave and the Disabled American Veterans.
Randell loved being with his family especially his grandchildren and enjoyed teasing with them and watching westerns on the TV.
Randell is survived by his wife, Karen Moore, two local daughters, Devon Davis and Misty Davis, one son, David Davis all of Morgantown and two grandchildren, Lillian Davis and Layla Emerson.
McCulla Funeral Home provided cremation services and private burial services will be held at a later date.
