Jimmy Lee Cline

Jimmy Lee Cline, 61, of Iaeger, died Thursday, Nov. 20, 2003 at his home.

Funeral services were held at 1 p.m. Monday at the Jesus Church at Sandy Huff, Iaeger. Burial followed in Tom Sparks Cemetery, Paynesville.

The family received friends at the church after 6 p.m. Sunday where services will be held at 7 p.m.

Shortridge-Ramey Funeral Home of Grundy, Va. was in charge of arrangements.

Mary Catherine Spencer

Mary Catherine Spencer, 70, of Mohawk, died early Friday morning, Nov. 21, 2003 at Bluefield Regional Medical Center, Bluefield, following a long illness. Funeral services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Tuesday from the chapel of Fanning Funeral Home in Iaeger. Burial will follow in the Four Pole Cemetery, Mohawk.

Friends may call at the funeral home Sunday from 6-9 p.m.

Fanning Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

Roy Everett Hatfield

Roy Everett Hatfield, 80, of Princeton, formerly of Hanover, passed away Thursday, Nov. 20, 2003 at Princeton Community Hospital with his family holding his hands and whispering their love.

Funeral services were conducted at 1 p.m. Monday from the chapel of Fanning Funeral Home in Iaeger with the Rev. Sherwood Queen officiating.

Burial and military graveside rites followed at the Hatfield Cemetery, at North Spring in Little Cub

The family received friends at the funeral home Sunday from 6-9 p.m.

Fanning Funeral Home, Iaeger, was in charge of arrangements.

Bessie Ferrell

Bessie Ferrell, of Gilbert passed away Wednesday, December 30, 2003 at her residence.

Funeral services were conducted Saturday, January 3, 2004, at 2 p.m. from the Mounts Funeral Home Chapel with the Revs. Dennie May, Paul Ward, and Roger Endicott officiating. Burial followed in the Perry Family Cemetery at Baisden.

Friends called at the funeral home on Friday, January 2, from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m.

Mounts Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.

Wilma Lois Keyser

Wilma Lois Keyser, 89, of Iaeger, died Sunday, Dec. 28, 2003 in Bluefield.

Funeral services were conducted at 11 a.m. Friday at the Fanning Funeral Home Chapel, Iaeger. Burial followed in Roselawn Memorial Gardens, Princeton.

Friends called at the funeral home Thursday from 6-8 p.m.

Fanning Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.

Gracie Murphy

Gracie Murphy, 76, of Baisden passed away Sunday, December 28, 2003, at CAMC General Division, Charleston.

Born January 3, 1927, in Jamboree, Ky., she was the daughter of the late Ira and Emma Jane Lester Dotson.

Funeral services were conducted Wednesday, December 31, 2003 at 2 p.m. at the Mounts Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Jim Nagy officiating. Burial followed in the Lester Family Cemetery at Baisden.

Friends called at the funeral home Tuesday from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m.

Mounts Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Thelma Hunt

Thelma Hunt, 76, of Mohawk, passed away Monday, January 26, 2004, at CAMC Memorial in Charleston after a long illness.

She was born November 21, 1927, in Mohawk, to the late Shafter and Omi Lester Messer. She was preceded in death by two brothers, Jim Messer and Leroy Messer, and two sisters, Marion Cline and Audrey Krog.

Surviving are her husband of 61 years Thomas "Estil" Hunt; six sons Charles (Kathy) Hunt, Hubert (Gloria) Hunt, Shafter (Donna) Hunt, Hobert (Eva) Hunt, Frankie (Katrina) Hunt; four daughters Sherry Hunt, Gaye (Teddy) Johnson, Beatrice (Terry) Justus, Charlotte (Eddie) Liton; 23 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren; one brother, Vern Thomas Messer, and one sister, Jennifer Farmer.

Funeral services were held Friday, January 30 at 11 a.m., at Mt. Zion Old Baptist Church, of which she was a member, with Elders Curtis Crouse, Roscoe Crouse, Jerry Estep, Phillip Estep, George Baker, Hershel Hurley, John R. Justice, David Lester and Kermit Lester officiating. Burial followed in the Fred Lester Cemetery, Right Hand Fork, Bull Creek.

Friends may call Mt. Zion Old Regular Baptist Church Wednesday and Thursday at 6 p.m. She was a wonderful wife, a loving mother, a special grandmother and great grandmother. Family and friends served as pallbearers.

Sheldon Justice

Sheldon Todd Justice, 32, of Baisden died on Friday, Jan. 30, 2004, at Logan Regional Medical Center.

Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m., Tuesday, Feb. 3, at the Mounts Funeral Home in Gilbert with the Revs. Jonas Trent, Learmon Mounts and John Thompson officiating. Burial followed in the Phil Cline Cemetery in Baisden.

Friends called from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m., Monday, Feb. 2, at the funeral home.

Alice Riffe

Alice Riffe, 72, of Iaeger, died on Saturday, Jan. 31, 2004, at the Logan Regional Medical Center.

Funeral services will be conducted at 1 p.m., Wednesday, Feb. 4, at the Mounts Funeral Home in Gilbert with the Revs. Michael Browning and Lowell Walls officiating. Burial will follow in the Willard Riffe Family cemetery at Lower Muzzle Creek, Ikes Fork.

Visitation will be from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m., Tuesday, Feb. 3, at the funeral home.

Ethel Pierce

Ethel "Susann" Pierce, 83, of Gilbert, died on Saturday, at the Logan Regional Medical Center.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m., Tuesday, May 18, 2004, at the Baisden Community Church with the Rev. Clayton Cline officiating.

Friends may call at the church on Tuesday from noon until 2 p.m.

Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the Mounts Funeral Home in Gilbert.

Pearl Lester

Pearl J. Lester, 91, of Baisden, WV, passed away Thursday, July 15, 2004 at 7:08 p.m. at Williamson Memorial Hospital.

Born February 22, 1913 at War Eagle, WV, the daughter of the late Preston and Goldie Walls Johnson.

Mrs. Lester was a homemaker and a member of the Gilbert Church of Christ.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband; Lawson Lester, 2 infant children, 4 grandchildren; Eddie Mangus, Robert Trent, Timmy and Kenny Lester, 1 great grandchild; Brian Robinette.

Survivors include 4 daughters; Bertha Lester of Baisden, WV, Dorothy (Jennings) Mangus of Man, WV, Nadine (Charles) Mangus of Sunberry, OH, Phoebe (Doug) Spence of Hilliard, OH, 6 sons; Madison (Freda) Trent of the State of North Carolina, Thomas Ray (Alma) Trent of Baisden, WV, Nathaniel "JAB" Trent of Gilbert, WV, Ralph (Linda) Lester of Columbus, OH, Glen (Jan) Lester of North Spring, WV, Denny C. Lester of the home, 2 sisters; Bell Durham of Portsmouth, OH, Janice Bradford of Gilbert, WV, 1 special step daughter; Lorraine Lester of Isaban, WV, 33 grandchildren, 48 great grandchildren and numerous great great grandchildren.

Friends were able to call at the Mounts Funeral Home Chapel in Gilbert, WV, Saturday, July 17, 2004 from 6 to 9 p.m. Funeral services were conducted Sunday, July 18, 2004 at 2 p.m. at the chapel with Minister Jesse Spaulding officiating. Burial followed at the Highland Memory Gardens at (Godby Heights) Pecks Mill, WV

Olive Browning

Olive Browning, 73, of Gilbert, passed away Friday, September 10, 2004, at Williamson Memorial Hospital, Williamson, WV.

Born February 14, 1931, in Verner, WV, to the late Tilden and Drewsilla Kennedy Browning, she was a member of the Verner Community Church at Verner, for over 25 years.

Funeral services were held Monday, September 13, 2004, 1:00 p.m., at Verner Community Church at Verner, with Pastor Walter Grimmett officiating. Burial followed at Browning and Dye Cemetery, Verner.

Friends were able to call the Verner Community Church at Verner, Sunday, September 12, 2004, after 6:00 p.m.

Mounts Funeral Home of Gilbert was in charge of arrangements.

Georgie Blankenship

Georgie Marie Blankenship, the stillborn infant daughter of Ernest and Cristal Pennington Blankenship of North Spring, passed away Wednesday, September 15, 2004, at Logan Regional Medical Center, Logan.

Funeral services were held Friday, September 17, 2004, 11:00 a.m., at Mounts Funeral Home Chapel, Gilbert, with Rev. William Cook and Rev. Jerlene Cook officiating. Burial followed at Browning and Grimmett Cemetery, Bruno.

There was no visitation.

Dallas Carter

Dallas Carter, 46, of Justice, WV, passed away Wednesday, November 17, 2004 at 6 p.m. at Logan Regional Medical Center.

Born June 14, 1958 at Iaeger, WV, the son of Dorothy Davis Carter of Justice, WV, and the Late Ritz Carter.

Friends were able to call at the Justice Freewill Baptist Church at Justice, WV, Monday, November 22, 2004 after 6:00 p.m. Funeral services were conducted at the church Tuesday, November 23, 2004 at 1 p.m. with the Rev. Eddie Isom officiating. Burial followed at the Lester Cemetery at Neds Branch, (Gilbert) WV.

Mounts Funeral Home of Gilbert was in charge of arrangements.
