Mr. Christian B. Hill, II
Christian Bradford Hill II passed away in Poca on May 24th at the very young age of 19.
Christian is predeceased by his great-grandparents Freddie and Katie Hill, Ruthann Bennett, Papa Jack (Juanita) Simeral, and Ruth Simeral and grandparents Joan and Larry Kirby.
Christian is survived by his loving parents Kami (Paul) Hill of Poca, and Christian (Tina) Hill of Poca.
Christian is lovingly remembered by his great-grandparents Alice Dolin, Denny Dolin (Bev) and Bob Bennett (Marion); grandparents Kim Dolin, (Papa) John Craddock and (Mimi) Sue Beth Craddock, Brad Hill; aunts and uncles John Dolin (Courtney), Heather Hill (Niko), Jeremy Hill (Liz), Kaci Dolin, and Eve Hill, brothers and sisters Griffin and Logan Holbert and Stanton Hill, several cousins and many other in his extended families. Christian was a kind hearted person who always put the feelings of others first. He leaves behind many, many friends and loved ones that will always cherish him.
Christian was born in South Charleston, WV in February 10, 1995. He graduated from Nitro High School in 2013. He was employed by Cunningham Energy.
Christian enjoyed the outdoors and physical fitness. During his time at Poca and Nitro High School, he was a standout football player and a student admired by his peers.
A tribute to the life of Christian will be 11:00 AM Thursday May 29, 2014 at Gatens-Harding Funeral Home Chapel with Mark Thaxton and Jody Pauley officitaing. Burial will follow in Cunningham Memorial Park. The family will receive friends 6 to 8 PM Wednesday at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations be made to Gatens-Harding Funeral Home PO Box 2 Poca, WV 25159.

Roger F. “Rabbit” Frame
Roger F. “Rabbit” Frame, 58, of Rosedale, passed away February 16, 2015 at home after a short battle with cancer.
He was born March 26, 1956 at Shock, WV. He is the son of the late William C. and Mary Lucille Lanham Frame.
He was preceded in death by sisters, Mary Iris Frame and Emma Karol Isenhart; brothers, William “Bill” and Harmey “Sam” Frame.
He loved to camp, read, and listen to classical music.
He is survived by sisters, Evelyn Spaur and husband, Rexell of Sand Fork and Betty Crutcher of Carlsbad, NM; brothers, Vernon Frame and wife, Barb of Vienna, Clelly “Tub” Frame and wife, Charlotte of Rosedale; several nieces and nephews.
He will be greatly missed.
A gathering of family and friends will held from 6 to 9 p.m. Thursday, February 19, 2015 at Richard M. Roach Funeral Home, Gassaway.
Per Mr. Frame’s request his body will be cremated following services.
A private memorial service will be held at a later date.
In lieu of flowers the family request donations be made toward the funeral expenses.

Robert Lee (Bob) Singleton
Robert Lee (Bob) Singleton, 79, formerly of Burnsville, West Virginia went home to be with his lord and savior after a short illness. He was reunited with his wife, Linda M. Singleton.
Robert is the son of the late Albert and Dorphuis Singleton.
Surviving are his three daughters: Kristy and Eric Veltre of Laurel Patch, Kelly and Johnny White of Frametown, and Kathi and Evan Carr of Exchange.
Robert Loved his grandchildren: Robert and Mike Blankenship, Shawn, Ryan, and Shane Hacker, Kaitlyn Kendra, Kailee, Eric, Ean, Emma and Ellie Veltre, as well as four great-grandchildren Payten and Nevaeh Blankenship, Jodi Blankenship, and Alice Katherine Hacker.
Robert is also survived by his three sisters: Virginia Parker, Nellie Cayton, and Carla Johnson, as well as one brother, William Singleton. One sister proceeded him in death, Thelma Singleton.
Robert worked for years for Asplin, T.A. Chapman, in addition to the many services for several individuals.
Our dad was an honest, hardworking, caring man who dedicated his life to his family and reading the bible.
Services will be Thursday, February 19, 2015 from 4-8 and the funeral will be Friday at 11:00 am at Stockert and Paletti Funeral Home in Flatwoods.

Stephen Jerold Putman
Stephen Jerod Putnam, 38, of Ireland, WV passed away on Tuesday, February 10, 2015 in Ireland, WV. He was born in Buckhannon on March 10, 1976: son of Stephen Leon Putnam and Beverley G. (Perrine) Putnam of Ireland, WV. On July 28, 2008, he married Shannon M. (Cross) Putnam, who survives.
Jerod is survived by two children: Twins Taylor and Benjermin Putnam at home. He is also survived by two brothers: Jason Putnam of Glenville and Kevin Putnam of Ireland, WV. Paternal grandmother: Flora Belle Putnam of Glenville, several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins. Jerod was preceded in death by Maternal grandparents: Rex and Madeline Perrine of Falls Mill and Paternal grandfather: Lester Putnam of Glenville.
Jerod owned and operated Jerod Enterprises and was a logger and heavy equipment operator. He was a graduate of Lewis County High School with the “Class of 1994.” He was active with Lewis County High School Football, played football from 1994-1997 at Glenville State Collage and in 1997 at Concord College. Jerod was a Methodist by faith.
Jerod was an avid boater, enjoyed skiing and was an all-around sportsman. He always made time for his family and friends and was loyal to his hometown of Ireland. There was not a thing he wouldn’t do for the ones he loved, especially his wife and children.
Jerod was one of the founders of Irish Road Bowling in West Virginia, playing in the first ever game in 1995 with Don’s (Stewart) Daredevils which became the Irish Road Bowlers. Jerod competed in Boston in the 2004 and 2005 North American Regional Championships Novice 2 leading in his first match in Boston after ½ mile, until the ”lofting leprechaun in the corner” caught him. In 2006 Jerod was West Virginia State champion, using his speed to win the WV Singles Championship Finals in Ireland, WV. Jerod represented the WVIRBA in the 2009 North American Regions Finals Novice 1.

Family and friends were received at the Hardman-Paletti Funeral Home 730 N. Main Avenue Weston on Friday, February 13, 2015 from 2-4 & 5-7 p.m. Funeral services were held on Saturday at 1 p.m. from the Hardman-Paletti Funeral Home chapel with Reverend Lonnie Ramsey and Reverend Jeff Ramsey officiating. Interment followed services in the Falls Mill Cemetery in Falls Mill, WV. A Dinner was served at the Ireland Community Building following the services.

Lois Rexroad
Lois L. Rexroad, 77, of Ravenna, Ohio, passed away at her home on Wed-nesday, February 11, 2015.
Lois was born in Gassaway, West Virginia on March 20, 1937 to parents Clarence and Daisy Duelley. Lois was retired but enjoyed her time working as a cook at Yesterday Bar and Grill and Eagle Truck Stop in Streetsboro. She had also worked at BF Goodrich and Kenney Shoe Factory when she was in West Virginia. Lois was a true sportsman. She loved fishing and hunting. She also enjoyed gardening. Lois enjoyed participating in the Streetsboro’s Gun Club Turkey Shoot and bowling at Twin Star.
Lois is survived by her husband of 57 years, Donald Rexroad and her children: Donald Lee Rexroad, Loretta (David Boggs) Kent and Ronald (Barbara) Rexroad. Surviving also are her grandchildren: Adam Rexroad, John McKelvey, Ashley (Matt) McKelvey-Mott, Vanessa (Matt Pidgeon) Horst, Tessa M. (Dan) Michaels, Corissa L Hurst, Jennifer Rexroad and 7 great-grandchildren. She also leaves special member of the family Christy Levering.
Lois was preceded in death by her parents, son Doran Jay Rexroad and her 5 brothers and 3 sisters.
Friends were received at the Wood-Kortright-Borkoski Funeral Home, 703 E. Main St., Ravenna on Sunday, February 15, 2015 from 2:00PM until 4:00PM where funeral services were held on Monday, February 16th at 11:00AM with Pastor David Ballert officiating. Burial at Maple Grove Cemetery took place at 11:00AM on Tuesday, February 17th.

Jerry Richard Duffield
Jerry Richard Duffield, 68, died February 13, 2015 at home in Strange Creek.
He was born June 19, 1946 at Elkridge, WV a son of the late Harold “Carol” and Madeliene Queen Duffield. He was preceded in death by one grandson, Samuel Adam McCoy and mother-in-law, Olga Ratliff.
Jerry is survived by his wife of 49 years, Connie Ratliff Duffield; son, Sam (Melissa) Duffield of Summersville; daughter, Becky Duffield McCoy of Duck; brother, Jimmy (Helen) Duffield of Clay; sister, Nancy Nichols of Martinsburg; father-in-law, Thurman Ratliff of Duck; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Phil and Shelley McKown of Frametown; grandchildren, Blane, Hannah, Seth, Gracie, Maddie, Tyler and Jace; special grandchildren, Carlie Rae McKown, Jackson and Chance Davis, Owen, Jack and Adeline Lowther, Aven Woods, Lucy Dennison, Ethan Moore, Dakota Hunt, Emily Carter, Hunter Hannah, Anne, Kate and Todd Spencer. nephew, Philip (Cassie) McKown; nieces, Belinda (David) Walker, Barbie (Steve) Morris, Amy Hunt and Tammy Duffield, Terri (Scott) Legg and Traci (Rick) Welch.
Jerry graduated from Clay County High School in 1964. His parents owned Kilroy’s Inn where he spent countless hours growing up.
He retired October 31, 2014 from the West Virginia Department of Natural Resources Wildlife Division where he served for 50 years, finally retiring after reaching his goal of harvesting over 100 bears. He enjoyed time spent with his coworkers, whom he counted as family, especially Mark Clark and Burnard Gibson.
An avid hunter and fisherman, Jerry enjoyed excursions from Alaska to Canada, New Foundland and all over the United States, but his favorite being the Elk River where he grew up.
He was devoted to his family, spending every spare minute with his grand kids. He was everybody’s “Papaw: and loved by so many. He will be remembered for his bear stories and backyard bonfires.
Jerry was an active member of the Villa Nova Missionary Baptist Church. He loved his church family and was always found helping someone in need.
He was an Army Veteran serving during the Vietnam War.
We, as his family, find words to be inadequate at this time to memorialize such a fun, giving, loving, patient, and selfless man. We are so thankful for the assurance of heaven, for without it, this separation would be unbearable.
Service will be 11 a.m. Tuesday, February 17, 2015 at the Gassaway Baptist Church with Pastors, Joe Bob Truman, Okey Short, and John Cole officiating. Burial will be in the Duffield Cemetery, Duck.
Friends may call from 6 to 9 p.m. Monday, February 16, at the Gassaway Baptist Church.
In lieu of flowers the family request that donations be sent to Villa Nova Missionary Baptist Church, P.O. Box 5, Duck, WV 25063.

Mr. Adam Shawver
Mr. Adam G. Shawver, 26 of Red House passed away October 13, 2014.
Adam was a wonderful husband, amazing father, loving son and brother. He is a 2006 graduate of Poca High School; member of the Carpenters Union # 1207 Charleston and a member of Lone Oak Church of God Mission.
He is preceded in death by his grandparents Earl and Anna Bell Carney and Frank and Edna Shawver; aunt Shirley J. Carney and uncle Gerrell Tucker.
Adam is survived by his wife, Mrs. Holly Shawver; son Jacob Levi Shawver; parents Frank and Gale Shawver of Red House; sister Laray and husband Matt Skidmore of Red House; nieces Ashton and Kallee Skidmore of Red House; uncles Ronald Carney of Red House, John Shawver of Buffalo and Gilbert Shawver of Buffalo and aunts Diane and husband Carl Fisher of Raymond City and Caroll Goodall Shawver of Charleston.
A tribute to the life of Mr. Adam Shawver will be 1:00 PM Thursday October 16, 2014 at Lone Oak Church of God Mission with Pastor Scott Casto officiating. Burial will follow in Haven of Rest Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends 6 to 8 PM Wednesday at the funeral home.

Cheryl Lynn Houghton
Cheryl Lynn Houghton, 67, of Sutton, passed away on February 15, 2015 at Hubbard Hospice House, Charleston.
She was born August 18, 1947 in Kanawha County, the daughter of the late Lester Wendel Williams and Mary Elizabeth Whitfield Williams. She was also preceded in death by her brother, Lester Lee Williams and her twin brother, Stephen Allen Williams.
Cheryl is survived by her daughters, Sara Marks and companion Cody McCartney of Tesla, Lisa Riffle and husband Tommy of Dodridge County, WV, and brother, Jim Williams of Sutton, grandchildren;Breanna Riffle, Ryan Riffle, and Bredyan Riffle.
At the families request services will be at a later date.
