Dorthy “Dee” Ann Meadows

Dorthy “Dee” Ann Meadows, of Exchange, WV died December 7, 2008 at her home. She was born April 3, 1968 in New Jersey, a daughter of Rita Ruth Fero Floyd and the late Lester Robert Floyd.

Dorthy graduated from Braxton County High School and was a stay-at-home mom. She loved her children, her granddaughter and her unborn granddaughter; and was anxious to move into a new home they had just bought.

She is survived by companion, Rusty Carpenter; 1 son J. D. Cutlip of Exchange; 2 daughters Brandy Gillispie & husband Billy and Michelle Cutlip both of Exchange; granddaughter Mariah Gillespie; unborn granddaughter Alexis Gillispie; 3 brothers Robert Lee Floyd, Robert George Floyd, and Wayne Lester Floyd; 2 sisters Anita Marie Woods and Rebecca Lee Reaves;

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, December 11, 2008 at Greene-Robertson Funeral Home, Sutton, with Rev. Mike Sisson officiating. Friends may call one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.

Funeral arrangements are by Greene-Robertson Funeral Home, Sutton, WV.

Lock Casey Barbe

Lock Casey Barbe, 79, of Heaters, WV went home to be with the Lord on November28, 2008. He was born June 21, 1929 in Holley, WV, a son of the late Christopher Columbus and Viola Ruth Green Barbe. Also preceding him in death were son Thomas Ray Barbe three sisters and one brother.

He worked in the timber and saw mill industry working for the Lloyd family. He was a protestant by faith and a U.S. Army veteran.

Casey is survived by his daughter and her husband Ann and Jim Cook of Sutton, son and wife Benjiman Lee and Crystal Barbe of South Carolina his companion of many years Wanda Helmick Barbe Kitchen. Also surviving are his sister Dolly Burroughs of Heaters, and Half-brother Ralph Evans of Ohio, 10 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren.

Funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, December 3, 2008 at Greene-Robertson Funeral Home with Rev. Mike Sisson officiating. Friends may call one hour prior to the service. Burial will be in Lakelane Cemetery, Heaters, WV with military graveside rites with American Legion post #33.

Greene-Robertson Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Dessie Criss

Dessie Criss, 95, of Brooksville, OH, formerly of Birch River, WV, died November 27, 2008. She was born October 28, 1913 in Birch River, WV a daughter of the late Andy and Allie Jackson Frame. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Ray Criss.

She was a member of Birch River Baptist Church, Birch River, WV and was a homemaker.

She is survived by Son Delmas Criss and wife Jean of Birch River, WV; her daughters Norma Criss and Carolyn Johnson both of Cleveland, OH; her brother Don Frame of Burnsville, WV and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Funeral service will be held 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, December 2, 2008 at Greene-Robertson Funeral Home, Sutton, WV with Rev. Linn Schiefer officiating. Friends may call from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. on Monday, December 1, 2008 at the funeral home.

Arrangements are by Greene-Robertson Funeral Home, Sutton, WV.

Debbie Piggott Jarrell

Debbie Piggott Jarrell, 51, of Sutton, WV died November 27, 2008 at Braxton Co. Hospital in Gassaway, WV. She was born January 3, 1957 in Parkersburg, WV a daughter of Phyllis Eagle Piggott of Frametown, WV and the late Stewart Francis Piggott. She was a loving wife, mother, daughter, and grandmother.

Debbie is survived by her husband Richard L. Jarrell; her children Heather Tanner and husband Jason , Holly Doyle, Eddie Doyle and wife Serena all of Sutton. She is also survived by her mother Phyllis Piggott of Frametown; three sisters Linda Widener of Servia,WV, Janice Hefner of Frametown, WV, Ione Perrine of Gassaway, WV and her five grandchildren, Austin, Jaylie, Caden, Jazzy, Kiiran.

Friends may call from 1-2 p.m. Sunday at Greene-Robertson Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, November 30, 2008 at Greene-Robertson Funeral Home, Sutton, WV with Rev. Rodney England officiating. Burial was in the Eagle Cemetery, near Servia, WV.

Ray Ernie Knight
Ray Ernie Knight, age 80, of Oak Grove, MO, passed away Monday, July 27, 2015, at his home.
He was born January 25, 1935, in Flatwoods, WV, the son of Roy E. and Mabel (Hamilton) Knight.
On May 6, 1955, he was united in marriage to Mary Josephine Chick in Knob Noster, MO. She preceded him in death on December 30, 2011.
Ray worked as a manager at the General Motors Leeds Plant in Kansas City, MO, for many years until his retirement. He loved farming and working with cattle. Ray also enjoyed working in his garden, being outside and eating watermelon. He loved spending time with his family, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Ray was a member of the Community of Christ Church in Oak Grove, MO, where he was also a deacon.
Ray is survived by his son, David Knight and his fiancé Missy of Oak Grove, MO; two granddaughters, Megan Schwartze and husband Bryan of Odessa, MO, and Heather Elliott and husband Justin of Oak Grove, MO; one brother, Jim Ocheltree of Sutton, WV; sister in-law, Mary Knight of Weston, WV; and four great-grandchildren, Bryce Schwartze, Bridyn Elliott, Natalie Schwartze and Alayah Elliott.
He was also preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Raymond B. Knight.
Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Thursday, July 30, 2015, at the Community of Christ Church in Warrensburg, MO, with Pastor Robin Dyer and Pastor Bob Barrett officiating and visitation services began at 10 a.m. Pallbearers were Bud Weisz, Cody Abel, Justin Elliott, Mark Franks, Aaron Franks and Adam Barrett.
Interment followed at Warrensburg Memorial Gardens Cemetery.

Ronald Irvin Drake
Ronald Irvin Drake, 72, of Frametown, went home to be with the Lord on Monday, July 27, 2015.
He was born July 3, 1943 a son of the late Thirl and Maysel Hall Drake.
He was a retired engineer for Norfolk Southern Railroad. He attended the Spruce Grove United Methodist Church and was a member of the New Life Chapel.
He was preceded in death by infant sister, Tena Rae Drake.
He is survived by his wife of 52 years Nellie Sparks Drake; son, Ronald Irvin Drake II and wife, Diana of Harker Heights, TX; daughter, Christi Ann Drake living at home in Frametown; three grandchildren, Ronnie III of Ft. Worth, TX, Brandon of Louisville, KY and Kaitlyn of Harker Heights, TX; sister, Colleen Brammer of Parkersburg.
Services were held at 1 p.m. Thursday, July 30, 2015 at Richard M. Roach Funeral Home, Gassaway.
Visitation was from 6 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
Arrangements by Richard M. Roach Funeral Home, Gassaway.

Fred L. Morgan
Fred L. Morgan, 69, of Frametown, passed away July 26, 2015.
He was born March 8, 1946 in Charleston a son of the late Fred Lewis and Clementine Pring Morgan.
Fred was a graduate of South Charleston High School. He served in the US Army from 1964 to 1967. Fred retired from the West Virginia State Police. He was a master taxidermist, loved to fish and hunt, and was a talented artist.
He is survived by his wife of 28 years, Bobbi Reip Morgan; children, Matthew White and wife, Amanda and Kasi Price and husband, Matt; sisters, Nancy Young, Ruth Eitel and husband, Larry and Mary Lou Lauryssens; grandsons, Cole Elliott White and Brayden Matthew Price.
Service was at 1 p.m. Friday, July 31, 2015 at Richard M. Roach Funeral Home, Gassaway with the Rev. Johnny Conrad officiating. Interment will be in the Reip-Shawver Cemetery, Frametown.
Visitation was three hours prior to service at the funeral home.

Audra B. Harper
Audra B. Harper, 86, of Heaters, passed away on July 30, 2015 at United Hospital Center, Clarksburg.
She was born February 25, 1929 the daughter of the late A Davis and Carrie G Veith Krafft. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Charles Dale Harper, her daughter, Alice Carol, her brother, Sam Krafft, and granddaughter, Rhonda Riffle.
Audra was a caretaker for the Braxton County Senior Citizens Center, a homemaker, and a born again Christian.
She is survived by her sons, Charles Davis Harper (Karen) of Napier, Michael L. Harper (Bonnie) and Ronnie K Harper (Helen) all of Heaters, one brother, Audie Krafft of Parkersburg, Barbara Claypoole who was like a sister to Audra, grandchildren, Michelle, Danelle, Danny, Dawn, Amber, Paige, great grandchildren, Ashley, Michael B., Logan, Camden, Jocelyn, Hannah, Elizabeth, Alec, Emma, Chloe, Michael, and Trevor.
Upon families request, the body will be cremated. There will be no service.
Greene-Robertson Funeral Home is honored to be serving the Harper family.

Mr. Shirley Cobb
Mr. Shirley Lee Cobb, Sr., 83 of Liberty passed from this life into the arms of his Heavenly Father on May 28, 2014.
Shirley was born on September 14, 1930 to the late Ivan and Sylvia Cobb. He retired from Union Boiler and was a member of Teamsters Local # 175 and Operators Union # 132. Shirley was a Christian.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his sister Arbutus Cochran and grandchildren Shonn and Abigail Cobb.
He is survived by his loving wife, Mrs. Roselee Marcella Spradling Cobb of 63 years; brothers and sisters, Brady "Andrew" and wife Juanita Cobb of Liberty, Maxine Bordenet of Hometown, Phyllis Wickline of New Mexico, Patsy Hill of Bancroft, Mayford Cobb of Liberty, Betty Shaffer of Eleanor, Ivan Cobb, Jr. and wife Sue of Leon, Harold and wife Lorene Cobb of Liberty and Ralph and wife Patty Cobb of Ohio; son and daughters, Chuck and wife Kathy Cobb of Liberty, Charlotte and husband John Hilton of Red House, Diana and husband Bob Withrow of Cross Lanes, David and wife Kathy Cobb of Grove City, OH and Jim and wife Reba Cobb of Cross Lanes; 12 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren.
Homegoing services will be Noon on Saturday May 31, 2014 at the Cobb Family Farm, 2683 Bowles Ridge Road, Liberty with Pastor Delbert Hawley officiating. Burial will follow in Cobb Family Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the family farm.

Joe McCourt
Joe McCourt, 63, of Burnsville, passed away July 29, 2015 at his residence.
He was born in Sutton on February 9, 1952 the son of the late Warren McCourt & Agatha Clutter McCourt Corbett. Joe was a self employed mechanic.
Joe is survived by his loving wife, “Sissy” Mace McCourt, sons, TJ McCourt (Andrea), Ethan McCourt all of Burnsville, Joey McCourt of Ohio, daughters, Kaylee McCourt of Burnsville, Karen Morris (Ronnie) of Servia, WV, sister, Karen Holcomb of Gassaway, brothers, Ed McCourt of New York, Sonny McCourt of Heaters, Tom McCourt of Sutton, grandchildren, Honesty McCourt, Bailey McCourt, Casey McCourt and Josie Morris.
Graveside services were held 1 pm Saturday August 1, 2015 at Little Kanawha Memorial Gardens, Heaters with Rev. Eddie Barker officiating. Family received friends 12:00 pm Saturday, at Greene-Robertson Funeral Home, Sutton.
Greene-Robertson Funeral Home is humbled to be serving the McCourt family.

Roy Ray Hawkins
Roy Ray Hawkins, 89, of Exchange Rd. Sutton, WV, went home to be with the Lord on Monday, July 27, 2015 from his home, after a long illness. He was born September 27, 1925 at Belfont, WV, a son of the late George Everett Hawkins and Dallie Elizabeth Moyers Hawkins. He is preceded in death by his wife Imogene Mae Shaver Hawkins and granddaughter, Amber Dawn Cogar. Mr. Hawkins is also preceded in death by brothers Glen, Clen, Guy, and Earl and Sisters Mary Lea and Mae Wimer. Mr. Hawkins was a devout Christian and a member of Shavers’ Fork Community Church.
Mr. Hawkins is survived by: Daughters Janet (Terry) Wine of Chapman Run R., Orlando, WV and Ruth (Tim) Cogar of Stone Run Rd., Flatwoods, WV, Sons, Roy L. (Alice) Hawkins, John W. (Elizabeth) Hawkins, David S. Hawkins and James E. (Lisa) Hawkins all of Exchange Rd, Sutton, WV, and Sisters, Pauline Moutoux and Dell Pfalzgraf both of Wooster, OH. Mr. Hawkins is also survived by 16 Grandchildren and 15 Great-Grandchildren.
Friends may call from 12:00 – 2:00 pm, Monday, August 3, 2015 at Stockert-Paletti Funeral Home, Flatwoods, WV. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm, Monday, August 3, 2015 at Stockert-Paletti Funeral Home, Flatwoods, WV, with the Reverend Lester Lemon officiating. Burial will follow at the Jacob Shaver Memorial Cemetery.
