Robert “Bob” Eugene Allen, Sr
Robert “Bob” Eugene Allen, Sr., beloved husband and father, 68, died Saturday, Feb. 27, 2015, from injuries sustained in a construction accident.
A native of Frametown, WV, Robert was born on Nov. 15, 1947, to the late Harry F. Allen and ErmaLee Smith Allen.
In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by a son, Jonathan Allen, and a granddaughter, Megan Nicole Allen.
Robert was employed as a construction superintendent for Blythe Development. A veteran of the U.S. Air Force, he also was a licensed Baptist minister. His life-long love for nature and the outdoors made hunting and fishing natural hobbies. A special interest in trees drew him to wood-working and saw-milling.
Survivors include his wife of 45 years, Carol Anderson Allen; three sons, Robert E. Allen, Jr. (Cindy), Phillip S. Allen, and Matthew T. Allen (Jessica); two brothers, Richard Lee Allen (Christine) of Gassaway, and Steven Mark Allen (Laura) of Frametown; and five grandchildren, Robert E. Allen, III, Jacob Alexander Allen, Elizabeth Ann Allen, Matthew T. Allen, Jr., and Benjamin James Allen, also by several nieces and nephews.
A celebration of Robert’s life will begin at 11 a.m. Friday, March 4, at Richard M. Roach Funeral Home, Gassaway. Burial with military rites will follow in the Sugar Creek Cemetery, Gassaway. Visitation will be from 6 to 8pm Thursday, March 3, at the funeral home, Gassaway.

Samuel E. Given
There will be a graveside memorial service for Samuel E. Given on Saturday, March 12 at the Rosedale Baptist Church Cemetery beginning at 1:00 p.m. A reception honoring his life will follow at the Hope Baptist Church in Frametown. All family and friends are invited to attend.

Charlotte Diane Pitts
Charlotte Diane Pitts, 59, of Sutton, passed away Feb. 28, 2016 at Braxton County Memorial Hosp_ital.Charlotte loved animals and birds. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother.
Preceding her in death were her father, Vernon Burdette; father-in-law, Donald Pitts; and grandmother, Geneva Hively.
Survivors include her husband of 46 years, Dennis A. Pitts; daughter, Tara Fields and her husband, Joshua, and son, Brooks Pitts, all of Sutton; mother, Margaret Burdette of Sutton; mother-in-law, Geraldine Pitts of Charleston; brother, Tony Burdette of Sutton; and grandchildren, Brittany Kelley and Dalton Fields.
Funeral service will be 1 p.m. Saturday, March 5, at Cunningham-Parker-Johnson Funeral Home, Charleston, with Pastor David McCormick officiating. Burial will follow in Tyler Mountain Memory Gardens, Cross Lanes. Visitation with the family will be one hour prior to the service on Saturday. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations to Kanawha-Charleston Humane Association, 1248 Greenbrier St., Charleston, WV 25311. Cunningham-Parker-Johnson Funeral Home is serving the Pitts family.

Bradley Allen Brady
Bradley Allen Brady, 55, of Duck, passed away October 12, 2015 at home.
He was born November 27, 1959 at Sutton.
He was a tree climber and foreman for many years, having worked for Asplundh and Penn Line Tree services.
He was preceded in death by his father, James Edmund Brady; son, Jeremy Allen Brady; sister, Bonnie Faye Brady; brothers, William J. Brady and Alva Glenn Brady.
Bradley is survived by wife, Ann Lamb Brady; daughter, Jessica Ann Rogers and husband, Will of Duck; grandchildren, Keith Allen Brady, Margaret Ann Brady, Hailey Grace Rogers and Levi Price Rogers; mother, Dorothy Mae Dancy Brady of Frametown; brothers, James Ray Brady and Ronnie Dale Brady both of Duck; sisters, Barbara Brady of Hurricane, Sharon Brady of Beckley, Wilma Brady of Duck and Melissa Brooks of Virginia.
Service will be 12 p.m. Monday, October 19, 2015 at Richard M. Roach Funeral Home, Gassaway with Pastor Michael Rogers officiating. Interment will be in the Moore Fork Cemetery, Big Otter.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.

Alex Fominko, Sr
Alex Fominko, Sr., 87, of Jane Lew, went to be with his Lord on Friday, August 28, 2015 at his home. Born in Granville, W.Va. on Feb. 7, 1928, he was a son of the late Julia (Kovach) and Tony Fominko, Sr.
He, along with his wife, owned and operated Fominko’s General Store and Restaurant in Burnsville for many years. Alex served two terms as the Mayor of Burnsville, and for more than twenty years, he was a Little League Baseball Coach in Burnsville. He was a life-long avid fan of the West Virginia Mountaineers and the Pittsburgh Steelers.
Surviving are his four children and their spouses, Alex, Jr. and Brenda Fominko of Jane Lew; Debra and Butch Leonard of Mt. Clare, Sandra Fominko of Jane Lew, and Rosella and Bernard Rollyson of Burnsville; nine grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren; a brother Frank Fominko and a sister, Julia Christopher, both of Morgantown.
Deceased is his loving wife of 65 years, Ruby (Bolyard) Fominko, who passed away on Oct. 13, 2013. Also deceased are three brothers, Tony, George and Joseph Fominko.
Friends will be received at The Pat Boyle Funeral Home and Cremation Service of 144 Hackers Creek Rd. in Jane Lew, on Monday from 5 – 7 PM, where funeral services will be held Tuesday at 11:00 AM, with Pastor Ronnie Beeson officiating. Interment services will follow at Eden Cemetery, Stewartstown, W.Va. Tuesday at 2:00 PM.

Helen Irene Kelley
After a prolonged sickness on July 12, 2015, Helen Irene Kelley, age 90, was called home to be with the Lord. She will now rest in glory with her husband of 58 years, William Kelley Sr who went home March 8, 2013. Helen was one of three children to late Russel and Flodia Spicer Hosey. She has been preceded in death by an infant sister and a younger brother, Delbert Gene Hosey who passed in 2013.
Born October 14, 1924 in Copen, WV, she later married and moved to Burnsville, WV. Helen is survived by her four children, Roberta Riffle, Diana Lindsay who both reside in Florida, William “Bill” Kelley Jr. wife Terry of Grafton, WV, and Cindy Groves husband Gary of New York. God blessed Helen with 8 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren, all of which she loved dearly. One of her favorite past times was holding, rocking, and loving grand babies.
Some of her best smiles were captured while holding and delighting in little ones.
Helen was a hard worker and did her part during WWII by joining the other Rosy the Riveters in the Good year factory. She later worked for a cabinet factory in Sutton, WV. The Mountainlair in Morgantown, WV was a place of later employment that she enjoyed for a number of years. Ruby Hospital in Morgantown was her last place of employment as a cashier. She considered her positions more than just a job and loved the people. God blessed Helen with the gift of being a social butterfly and a desire to help in her own ways.
Most times, she could contribute some past story to the conversation that would make you laugh. Her last year of life was spent using her God given gifts bringing joy to those who lived in the Heritage of Morgantown. Over the years, she also showed love by cooking and feeding her family. Helen was known for her home grown canned green beans at every family function and made a killer chili dog sauce that no one will ever duplicate.
As long as she was able, Helen was a member and served our Lord at Rock Cave Baptist church in Rock Cave, WV. Pastor Jessie noted that both Bill and Helen were faithful members, always giving of themselves.
Helen spent a number of years taking care of refreshments for vacation bible school. They always helped where needed; “they were like family,” shared Pastor Jessie.
Friends will be received at the Heavner and Cutright Funeral Chapel on Saturday, July 18, 2015, from 9-11:00 AM, the funeral hour, with Pastor David Jessie officiating. Interment will follow in the Weston

Ethen Tyler Flint
Ethen Tyler Flint of Braxton County was born July 18, 1990 and died August 24, 2015.
He is loved by so many and he lived life to the fullest! Ethen will be missed by everyone but we know he would not want us to grieve for long because we can have the hope of seeing him again!
His spirit is finally free and his soul is at rest! Rest easy Big “E”.
There will be a bonfire in celebration of Ethen’s free spirit lifestyle Wednesday, September 2, 2015 at 6 p.m. at Flint Field in Sutton. Bring a chair and stories to share.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Belle Grove Springs Rehabilitation; please make check payable to Roger “Rob” or Melinda Flint and put Belle Grove Springs Rehabilitation in the memo. Decima “Jean”(Boggs) Baker
Decima “Jean” (Boggs) Baker, 87, passed peacefully on Sunday, August 9, 2015 with her loved ones by her side in Rochester, NY. She was born October 26, 1927 at Big Otter, WV to the late Walter Edgar and Minnie Olive (Delaney) Boggs. She was the widow of Harry Lee Baker, Jr. of Jacksonville, FL. Mrs. Baker leaves behind her two daughters: S. Gail Shreiner (Terry L.) of Great Mills, MD and Donna Loch Baker of Big Otter, WV.
Jean is survived by her two sisters and a brother: Leoma (Boggs) Short, widow of Ira Short of Athens, WV; Louetta (Boggs) Fields (Harald) of Big Otter, WV and Walter Alan Boggs (Leanna) of Athens, OH. She was preceded in death by two brothers: Darrell Delaney Boggs of Big Otter, WV and James Martin Boggs (Patricia) of Elyria, OH.
Jean’s grandchildren include: Lori (Miller) Short (Drexel) of Naples, FL; Melissa Miller-Ipsan (Matthew) of Pelham, AL; Angela (Butts) Wasserman (Jason) of Rochester, NY; Terry L. Shreiner, Jr. (Kristen) of Owings, MD. Jean’s step-grandchildren include: Donald Shreiner of Kemah, TX; and Tina (Shreiner) Blalock (Gary) of Pearland, TX;
Jean’s great-grandchildren are: Danielle R. Burris (deceased) of Channelview, TX; Christina Moore of Pearland, TX; Alex and Trent Wasserman of Rochester NY, Trace Short of Naples, FL, Olivia Ipsan of Birmingham, AL; Chase, Karly, and Lacey Shreiner of Owings, MD. Jean is also survived by five step great-grandchildren. They are: Alexandria Manzanares, Karissa Rickman, Kasey, Kaitlyn, and Brice Shreiner and four step great-great grandchild all of Texas.
Jean was 87 years old when she went home to be with our Lord and the rest of our family that have already made life’s greatest journey. She will be dearly missed by those of us left behind.
Jean was indeed a special woman and a credit to the Boggs’ family. She was an avid reader, skilled published poet and the writer of some children’s storybooks that may yet find themselves in print. She also was a retired educator at Frametown Elementary School in Braxton County. WV and had previously taught in Jacksonville, FL.
Funeral service will be held 2:00 P.M. Sunday, August 16, 2015 at Wilson-Shamblin-Smith Funeral Home, Clay. Jean was a native of West Virginia, born and raised at Big Otter and will find her final resting place at the Boggs Cemetery in Big Otter (Exit 40, I 79).
Friends may call 1 hour prior to the funeral service.
Wilson-Shamblin-Smith Funeral Home is honored to be serving the Baker family.

Thomas Mechling
Thomas Mechling, 63, of Sutton, passed away on Thursday July 30, 2015 at his residence.
He was born November 28, 1951 in Cleveland, OH the son of the late Thomas & Florence Druie Mechling.
Thomas is survived by his wife, Joyce Mosley Mechling, daughter, Melissa White of Burnsville, step daughters, Patricia Shephard of New London, OH, Caroline Swigger of Elyeria, OH, step son, Anthony Crigger of Savannah, OH, brothers, James, John, Paul, Mike, sisters, Marie, Bonnie, Mary, Fran, Linda, grandchildren, Autumn White, Allie White and Alisa White.
Viewing was held 1-2 p.m. Sunday August 2, 2015 at Greene-Robertson Funeral Home, Sutton, there will be no service.
Greene-Robertson Funeral Home is humbled to serve the Mechling family.

Earnest Glenn Williams
Earnest Glenn Williams, 70, of Cleveland, OH, passed away on July 17, 2015 at home. He was born on February 14, 1945 in Bulltown, WV to Dana and Mary (Conrad) Williams, who precede him in death.
He is also preceded in death by his brothers, Rubert D. Williams, Jim Williams and Dana Williams and sisters, Marge Myers, Louise Brown and Tutes Peter.
Those surviving left to honor his memory are his wife, Patricia Williams and son, Robert Williams, both of Cleveland, OH, along with several nieces and nephews.
Earnest worked as a machinery worker in an Aluminum Factory for many years. He enjoyed hunting and fishing, and will be deeply missed by his family.
Family will receive friends at the Stockert-Paletti Funeral Home, 378 Flatwoods Corner Road, Flatwoods, WV 26621 on Sunday, July 19, 2015 from 10:30 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. Funeral services will follow visitation with Pastor Delmas Singleton officiating. Interment will follow in the Little Kanawha Memorial Gardens in Heaters, WV.
The Stockert-Paletti Funeral Home of Flatwoods, WV is in charge of the arrangements for the Williams family.
