Mary Sue Belknap Duckworth
Mary Sue Belknap Duckworth, 60, of Gassaway passed away, July 16, 2015 at home.
She was born November 14, 1954 in Braxton County a daughter of the late Hillard and Ethel Skidmore Belknap.
Mary worked for GTR Labs of Gassaway and was a homemaker. She loved to bowl.
Mary is survived by her husband, Craig Duckworth; son, CJ Duckworth; four brothers; three sisters and several nieces and nephews.
Per Mary’s request her body was cremated.
There will be no services.

William Butcher
William “Gail” Butcher, 73, of Mineral Wells, passed away Tuesday July 14, 2015 at Camden Clark Medical Center, Parkersburg.
He was born March 6, 1942 at Braxton County WV, a son of the late Pierson Butcher and Virginia Simmons Butcher.
He had been employed by Storcks Baking Co. was a U.S. Army Veteran and enjoyed reading and his rocking chair.
Survivors include his wife Patricia “Patty” Hoover Butcher, a daughter Angela (Luke Williamson) Butcher of Coolville, OH, a son Douglas (Crystal) Butcher of Mineral Wells; two brothers Donnie (Kathy) Butcher of Cumming, GA, and Pierson “Butch” Butcher of OH; two sisters Patricia “Patsy” (Dwaine) Shaver of Newark, DE, and Nancy Fowler of Gassaway, WV, and two grandchildren Willow and Silas Butcher.
Graveside services will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday July 18, 2015, at the Flatwoods Cemetery, Braxton County WV with the Pastor Linn Schiefer officiating, friends may call from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Friday July 17, 2015 at Kimes Funeral Home, 521 5th St. Parkersburg, WV.

Samuel A. Ramsey
Samuel A. Ramsey, Sr., 88, of 13178 US Highway 19 South Roanoke, West Virginia went to be with his Savior and beloved wife on Friday, May 8, 2015 at his home following an extended illness. He was born November 30, 1926 at Harrison in Clay County: youngest son of S.V. and Myrtle (Woods) Ramsey. On March 3, 1950, he married Cora Etta (Brady) Ramsey, who preceded him in death on November 2, 2014.In addition to his parents and wife, Cora Etta, Mr. Ramsey was preceded in death by one Brother: Carl and four sisters: Jayne, Ellie, Ruth and Naomi(Tootie).
Mr. Ramsey is survived by his four children: Jeanetta Mick of Roanoke, Roland (Sharon) Ramsey of Burnsville, Diana Somerville of Cross Lanes and Sam A. (Jackie) Ramsey, Jr. ,7 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren., He was much loved by three generations of nieces and nephews to whom he devoted many years of love, support and prayers. A special thanks for the love and support of Ray and Lou Ogden.
Mr. Ramsey worked many years as a coal miner. He retired in 1989 from Robinson Run Mine in Lumberport, WV. He sang in the Swisher Hill Union Mission choir at Worthington, WV. In 2004, he and his wife moved to Lewis County from Marion County and again joined and supported the Oil Creek United Methodist Church of Roanoke, WV. Mr. Ramsey was a veteran of the United States Army serving in Ital during WW II.
Mr. Ramsey loved to fish and hunt and could make any camping trip memorable. Each year he had a garden and loved to share with everyone.
Family and friends will be received at the Hardman-Paletti Funeral Home 730 N. Main Avenue Weston on Tuesday, May 12, 2015 from 2-8 p.m. Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday at 11 a.m. from the Oil Creek United Methodist Church of Roanoke with Reverend Lonnie Ramsey, Reverend Bob Mitchell and Reverend Sherman Goodwin officiating. Mr. Ramsey will lie in state at the church from 10 a.m. until 11 a.m. on Wednesday before services. Interment will follow services in the Peterson Siding Cemetery of Roanoke, WV. Full military honor will be conducted by the United States Arm and the Lewis County Honor Guard.

Lizzie Edith (McCauley) Cayton Conrad
Lizzie Edith (McCauley) Cayton Conrad, 98 of Ossia Road, Duck WV, went to be with the Lord, on May 5, 2015 in the Braxton County Memorial Hospital. Edith was born on September 28, 1916 in McCauleys Run and is the daughter. Of the late (Joe) McCauley and Mamie (Groff) McCauley. In addition to her parents she was also preceded in death by her husbands Dee Cayton and Jesse J. Conrad. Four sons Albert Dale Cayton, William Paul Cayton, Denzel Cayton, Eugen Conrad (Infant) one daughter Glenna Smith. One Brohter Delbert McCauley killed in WWII, and two sisters preceded her in death Louise (McCauley) Lamb and Veda (McCauley) Gum.
Suriving Edith are Sons Earl Cayton and wife Betty of Falls Mill, John Cayton and wife Debi of Annville, PA, Delbert Conrad of VA, and daughters Lela Blake and Husband Jessie whom she made her home with, Carolyn Riffle of Heaters, Brenda Conrad of Heaters. Also surviving is one sister Rena (McCauley) of Johnson, OH.
Edith had 11 Children and 149 Crandchildren, Great Grandchildren, Great-Great Grandchildren, and Great-Great-Great Grandchilidren.
Edith is a member of the Church of God of Burnsville. She was known and loved by many friends and relatives and will be deeply missed. Edith enjoyed Singing, Reading, Shopping, Going to Birthday parties. She also was a great cook and she loved to be around her large family.
Family and friends will be received at the Stockert-Paletti Funeral Home 378 Flatwoods, Corner Road, Flatwoods, WV 26621 on Thursday, May 7, 2015 from 4-8 pm. Funeral Services will be held on Friday, May 8, 2015 at the Stockert-Paletti Funeral Chapel at 11:00 am with Reverend Jessie Blake and Reverend Eddie Barker officiating.
Interment will be in the Quickle Cemetery where she will be laid to rest beside her husband Jesse Conrad.

Marvin Dean Conner
Marvin Dean Conner, 70, of Atwater, Ohio, lost his battle with cancer but won the war when God, the Father, took him home to be with Him through eternity on May 7, 2015.
Marvin was born in Burnwell, WV on February 9, 1945 the son of the late Isham and Irene Conner. He lived most of his life in Braxton County, enjoying hunting, fishing and raising and tending his garden every year.
He is survived by his brother; James (Mae) Conner of Atwater, Oh, sister; Helen Conner of Atwater, Oh, nephews; Michael (Shanna) Conner, Bryan Conner, Bruce (Michele) Conner all of Atwater, Oh, niece; Tracy (David) Stewart of Deerfield, Oh, great-nephews; Robert Conner, David Conner, Bruce Conner, II, Brandon Stewart and great- nieces; Jamie Stewart and Allison Conner.
Family will receive friends 11:30 am- 1:30 pm Wednesday May 13, 2015 at Greene-Robertson Funeral Home, Sutton. Graveside service will follow at 2:00 pm at Tinney Cemetery, near Canfield, WV. Greene-Robertson Funeral Home is humbled to be serving the Conner family.

Richard E. “Jr” Brady
MRichard E. “Jr.” Brady, 81, of Gassaway, passed away April 7, 2015 at Mon General Hospital, Morgantown.He was retired from the Army after serving 23 ½ years. He served in Vietnam and was a recipient of the Purple Heart. After his service he was employed as a security guard for Island Creek Coal Company. He loved to hunt, fish and play bingo. He was a Methodist by faith.
Richard was preceded in death by son, John Brady. He is survived by his wife of 39 years, Emma M. Brady; children, Pamela Armstrong of Jessup, GA, Jeff Brady and wife, Gail of Fayetteville, NC, Sandra Marsh of Norfolk, VA, Tim Brady of and wife, Patty of Fayetteville, NC and Kathy Wilson of California; 14 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren; sisters, Ruth Six of Gassaway and Bonnie Bender of Chapel.
Service will be 11 am Saturday, April 11, 2015 at Richard M. Roach Funeral Home, Gassaway, with Pastor Curtis Johnston officiating. Burial with military rites will be in the Jarvis Cemetery, Gassaway.
Friends may call from 6 to 9p.m. Friday, April 10, at the funeral home.

Maxine M. Gibson
Maxine M. Gibson, 89, of Gauley Bridge, loving mother and grandmother passed away Wed-nesday, April 8th at Hubbard Hospice House after a short illness.
She was born on June 22, 1925 in Tesla, WV and was preceded in death by her Mother, Delphia Carder Jackson and Father, Lloyd Jackson, formerly of Tesla and her sister Jennalea Hogan, formerly of Florida.
She is survived by her daughters, Sandra Taylor of Smithers, Susan McComas and husband Duke of Henderson, Linda Kiser of Gauley Bridge and Kathy Smith and husband Carl of Winfield; grandchildren, Will Taylor of Smithers, Cara Kuhlman and husband Ben of Parkersburg, Matt Kiser and wife Mary Ann of Summersville and Justin Kiser of Gauley Bridge; great-grandchildren Joseph Taylor and Abigail Kuhlman; and her sister, Joy Salisbury of Florida.
A graveside service will take place at 1 PM on Saturday, April 11, 2015 at Tesla Cemetery, Braxton County with the Minister Jim Waldeck officiating.
In leiu of flowers, donations may be made to Hubbard Hospice House, 1001 Kennawa Dr., Charleston, WV 25311.

Glenna Mae (Clayton) Smith
Glenna Mae (Cayton) Smith, 77, of Frametown, WV, went to be with the Lord on February 14, 2015. She was born on April 12, 1937 in Knowles Creek, Orlando, WV to the late Thadeus Darius Cayton and Lizzie Edith (McCauley) Cayton of Duck, WV, who survives her.
Glenna is preceded in death by her husband, Earl Smith, who passed away on March 6, 2007. She is also preceded in death by her son in law, Dale Eddie; brothers, Paul, Denzil, and Dale Cayton.
Those left to honor her memory are sons, Barry Williston and wife Judith of Elyria, OH, Eric Williston and wife Laureen of Sheffield Lake, OH; daughters, Leila Eddie of Frametown, WV, Joyce Stock, nee Williston and husband Daniel of Rocky River, OH, Andrea Bocard, nee Williston and significant other Dale Beetler of Lorain, OH. Also surviving are brothers, Earl Cayton, Delbert Conrad, and John Henry Cayton; sisters, Leila Gaye Blake, Carolyn Riffle, and Brenda Conrad; 10 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren.
Glenna enjoyed reading, quilting, playing bingo and bowling. She loved people, especially children. She had taken 13 foster children into her home over her lifetime, and always made time to spoil her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She lived in various places over her life, such as Ohio and South Carolina, but always found her way home to Braxton County. She loved to cook, hated to be tickled, and had a wonderful sense of humor. Glenna deeply loved her family, and will be missed by all.
The family will receive friends from 1:00 pm to 3:00 pm on Tuesday, February 17, 2015 at Stockert-Paletti Funeral Home at 378 Flatwoods Corner Rd. in Flatwoods, WV 26621. Funeral Services will follow visitation at 3:00p.m at Stockert-Paletti Funeral Home with Pastor Earl Cayton officiating.

Peggy Ann Wright
Peggy Ann Wright, 74, of Shinnston, passed away Wed-nesday, March 4, 2015 at her residence. She was born August 18, 1940 in Heaters, WV; daughter of the late Samuel D. and Mildred Bennett Riffle. Peggy is survived by three daughters, Vicky and Clarence Taylor, Kim Wright and companion Thomas, Megan Wright and companion Robbie all of Shinnston; two sons, John, Jr. and Mary Wright, of Reynoldsville, Terry and Frances Wright of Shinnston; five granddaughters, Amanda, Shannon, Brittany, Alicia, Rebecca; nine grandsons, Hughie, Marvin, David, Arthur, John II, Jeremy, Terry Jr., Randy, John, Tyler; several great grandchildren; three sisters, Nancy Norris of Little Rock Camp, Janet Riffle of Georgia, Kathy and Teddy Moore of Sarasota, FL; one brother, Richard Riffle of Clarksburg; several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, John Edward Wright; one daughter, Cheryl A. Wright; one son, Kevin Wright; two brothers, Robert Satterfield, Dave Riffle. Peggy worked for Bridgeport Trucking as a housekeeper. She enjoyed cooking, crocheting, playing games on the computer. Family will receive friends at Dorsey Funeral Home, 701 S. Pike Street Shinnston, from 3:00-8:00pm Friday, March 6, 2015; funeral service will be held Saturday, March 7, 2015 at 11:00am with Pastor Bob Ringer officiating. Interment will follow in K of P Cemetery in Braxton County. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to an American Heart Association of your choice.

Mae M. (McClain) Johnson
Mae M. (McClain) Johnson, 97, went to be with the Lord Wednesday, January 28, 2015. She was born on December 30, 1917 to the late Schuyler and Lovie (Greathouse) McClain. . Mae was retired from the UNINYS Corporation of Los Angeles, CA with 30 years of service. She is also preceded in death by her husband, Given Johnson, and brothers, Pat, Bert, Earl, Delbert, Roy and Steve McClain; sister, Glenda Conley.
She is survived by sister, Eleanor L. Reese of Burnsville; brother, Sammy (Betty) of Lakemore, OH; several nieces and nephews.
Mae was protestant by faith. She loved to travel, especially to Natural Bridge and Williamsburg, VA. She loved flowers; her favorite were Irises and Azaleas. She also loved to cook, sew, and enjoyed watching wildlife, especially birds and squirrels.
The family receive d friends from 12:00 pm to 2:00 pm on Saturday, January 31st, 2015 at Stockert-Paletti Funeral Home at 378 Flatwoods Corner Rd. in Flatwoods, WV 26621. Funeral Services followed visitation at 2:00p.m at Stockert-Paletti Funeral Home with Reverend Ronzel Roberts officiating. Interment followed in I.O.O.F. Cemetery in Burnsville, WV.

James E. Kelly
James E. Kelly, 70, went to be with the Lord on Friday, January 30, 2015. He was born on August 28, 1944 to the late Howard Kelly and Mildred (Bosley) Kelly in Baltimore, MD. He was a woodworker by trade and served in the Marine Corp.
James is also preceded in death by his brother, William Kelly; sisters, Shirley Kelly, Dolores Gines, and Doris Burlingame.
Family left to honor his memory is son, James Kelly Jr. of Corvallis, Oregon; several nieces, nephews, and great-nieces and great-nephews.
James enjoyed spending time with family and loved his dog, Philo. He also studied his ancestors and enjoyed searching through old cemeteries to locate family. He also spent time collecting coins.
The family will receive friends from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm on Tuesday, February 3rd, 2015 at Stockert-Paletti Funeral Home at 378 Flatwoods Corner Rd. in Flatwoods, WV 26621. Funeral Services will follow visitation at 1:00p.m at Stockert-Paletti Funeral Chapel with Pastor Paul Beatty officiating. Interment will follow in Pleasant Hill Cemetery in Exchange, WV.
