Geraldine M. Morrison
Geraldine M. Morrison, 88, of Airport Road Sutton, WV. passed away Friday March 9, 2012 at Braxton Health Care Center after a short illness.
She was born on Dec. 2, 1923 a daughter of the late William A. and Ora Baker Means. She was a graduate of Sutton High School and was retired from the U.S. Corps of Engineers at Sutton Dam. She was a member of Morrison United Methodist Church.
She is proceeded in death by her parents, husband Earle Morrison Jr. brother, William G. Means.
Gerri is survived by son, John G. Morrison (Linda) of Sutton, WV. Daughter, Linda L. (Jerry) Jackson of Sutton. Brother, Roger L. (Janet) Means of Florida and sister, Carolyn S. (Arthur) Robinson of Florida. Five grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Wednesday March 14, 2012 at Morrison United Methodist Church on Airport Road Sutton, WV. with Rev. Harley Scalf officiating. Friends may call from noon until service time at the church. In lieu of flowers the family suggests contributions to Morrison United Methodist Church, 325 McCoy Drive Sutton, WV 26601. Stockert-Sizemore Funeral Home in Flatwoods, WV is charge of the arrangements.

Glennis H. Cunningham
Glennis H. Cunningham, 86, of Brooksville, Florida, formerly of St. Petersburg, passed away Monday, March 5, 2012, at Sturgill Hospice Care Center. Born in Gassaway, WV, She moved to St. Petersburg in 1983 from Morgantown, WV. She graduated from Glenville State College and she later earned her Masters and Ph.D. from West Virginia University. As a teacher for 59 years she helped implement the first state (WV) funded early education program for five year olds “Head Start” and served as Director of Early and Elementary Education for West Virginia State Department of Education. She also was a member of The Eastern Star, N.E.A (National Education Association), AARP, Phi Delta Kappa, and Delta Kappa Gamma. She was Methodist and was a member of Allendale United Methodist in St. Petersburg and First United Methodist in Brooksville. She was in the Gulf Coast chapter of United Methodist Women. She was preceded in death by her husband William Cunningham; parents Wirt and Ruby Utt Hudkins; siblings Phyllis Hudkins Murphy and Merlin Hudkins. She is survived by her children Mary J. Cunningham and John M. Cunningham; grandchildren Zachery and Kayleigh Maines, Reilly and Evan Cunningham. There was a visitation on Wednesday, March 7, 2012 from 4 until 7pm.

Dottie Ann Kidwell
Dottie Ann Kidwell, 67 years old, entered into eternal rest March 3, 2012 at her residence in Manassas, VA.
She was born March 18, 1944 in Nicholas County, WV the daughter of the late Royal J. & Sarah Virginia Smallwood King.
Dottie was a member of The Living Faith Church and retired as a employee of Fairfax County, VA Public Schools.
Preceding her in death was her parents; son John Arthur Kidwell, Jr.; sisters, Patsy Davis, Sharon Rogers, Audrey King; Nephew Delmus King, II and Niece Angel Davis.
Surviving her are her loving sons Earl Andrew King & wife Donna of Silver Springs, MD,C. David Kidwell and Martin A. Kidwell both from Manassas, VA, brother; Delmus King of
Birch River, WV; grandchildren David Allen Casey, James Matthew Kidwell, Joseph Hummer, Jesicca Kidwell and great-granddaughter; Khloe Kidwell.
Services were held 6 p.m. Friday March 9, 2012 at Greene-Robertson Funeral Home,Sutton, WV with the Rev. J.R. Judd
officiating. Friends called two hours prior to service timeat the funeral home.
Family suggests donations to: American Cancer Society, 1700 McCorkle Ave. S.E., Charleston, WV 25314

Ronald Jay Dittman
Ronald Jay “Ron” Dittman, 68, of Stonewood, WV, died on Wednesday, March 7, 2012, after a sudden illness. Ron was born on May 23, 1943, the son of William J. and Wilma H. Dittman, who both preceded him in death.
Raised in Michigan, Ron served as a medic in the Air Force and most recently worked at the FBI in Clarksburg. He was a Mason and a member of the Scottish Rite.
Ron very much enjoyed his Sunday evening group meetings with members of his church. His greatest joy was his family, and he enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and watching them in their activities.
Surviving are his wife, Kimberly Rollins, of Stonewood; daughter, Ronna Jane Dittman, of Gassaway; sons Jonathan Eric Dittman, and his wife, Maria, of Dallas, TX; William Jay Dittman, II, and his wife, Lori, of Gassaway; Matthew Joel Dittman, and his wife, Melissa, of Gassaway; and three grandchildren, Brent James Dittman, Hannah Louise Dittman and Elizabeth Jane Dittman; and family and friends too numerous to count.
Ron will be truly missed by those who knew and loved him.
A memorial service was held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, March 10, 2012, at First United Methodist Church, on the corner of Pike and Second streets, Clarksburg, WV. The family received visitors at the church at 10:00 a.m. Ron has donated his body to the WVU Human Gift Registry.
In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that donations be made to the Braxton County Middle School Athletic Dept. in Ron’s name, as one of his greatest enjoyments was watching his grandchildren play sports at the school. Gifts may be sent to Braxton County Middle School, 100 Carter Braxton Drive, Sutton, WV, 26601.

Florence Jane Marlow
Florence Jane Marlow, 80, of Newville Road Sutton, WV passed away Friday March 9, 2012 at Braxton
Memorial Hospital, Gassaway.
She was born July 4th, 1931 in Palmer, WV the daughter of the late Ernie George & Louise Paul Luzader.
Florence was a member of the Newville Methodist Church and a homemaker.
She is survived by her loving husband, Jack Marlow; son, Jon Marlow of Newville, WV; daughters, Dee Dee Gokey of Newville, WV, Rhonda Gail Williams of Heaters, WV, Genelda Dennison of Newville, WV; brother; Rondal Luzader of AZ; sister, Daphine Quigby of AZ; 6 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren.
A private family graveside service was held upon her request. Greene-Robertson Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

Brenda J. Richardson
Brenda J. Richardson, 59, of Little Birch, passed away March 11, 2012 at home.
She was born January 6, 1953 in Lorain, OH a daughter of the late Ernest and Glenna Crislip Stump.
Brenda was a CNA and a caregiver. She attended the Big Union Baptist Church, Dille. She loved to travel especially out west; she loved taking care of animals and was a really good cook.
Surviving; son, Teddy J. Richardson
and wife, Gina of Little Birch; grandson, Teddy Russell Richardson; brother, Ernie Lee Stump of Nebo.
In addition to her parents she was also preceded in death by son Ernest Richardson.
Service was 11 a.m. Tuesday, March 13 at Richard M. Roach Funeral Home, Gassaway with Rev.Danny Richardson officiating. Burial was in the Elmira Cemetery.
Friends called from 6 to 9 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.

Grace D. Gerwig
Grace D. Gerwig, age 104, passed away at her residence at Exchange on Tuesday, March 20, 2012.
She was born at Morris, West Virginia on August 1, 1907, one of ten children of the late Emmett and Doria Bail.
She married Laco Gerwig in 1931 and was preceded in death by her husband, Laco and son, Samuel Roland Gerwig.
She is survived by daughter, Patricia Gerwig Schlosser and husband, Ronald Schlosser of King of Prussia, PA; daughter-in-law, Mary Ellen McCauley Gerwig of Malvern, PA; grandsons, Robert Gerwig of Downingtown, PA and Paul Gerwig and wife, Donna of Kennett Square, PA; three great granddaughters, Molly and Megan Gerwig of Downingtown, PA, Jessica Gerwig Moore and husband, Tom Moore, Jr. of Smyrna, DE; two great grandsons, Charlie and Cody Moore. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Grace graduated from Glenville College during World War II. She taught in a one room school. When roads became impassible by car, she rode a horse. Grace was always active in her community, churches, especially the Clarksburg Baptist Church where she has been a member for more than fifty years. She and her husband lived in Clarksburg for more than fifty years and following his retirement, they moved back to the farm near Exchange.
Service was 11 a.m. Saturday, March 24 at Richard M. Roach Funeral Home, Gassaway with Rev. Bryon Bukovesky officiating. Interment was in the Frederick Gerwig Memorial Cemetery on Toms Run, Chapel, WV.
Friends called from 6 to 9 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that contributions be made to the Clarksburg Baptist Church, P.O. Box 327, Clarksburg, WV 26301-0327 or Hospice Care, P.O. Box 323, Burnsville, WV 26335.

George William Sergent
George William Sergent passed away at his home on Tuesday March 20, 2012. He was born to the late Farrell and Ova Sergent. George was preceded in death by his wife of 42 years, Mary Carter Sergent. He leaves behind daughter Marsha Ann Gaskins and husband Kenneth, daughter Donna Kay Dobbins and husband Brian, son Michael William Sergent and wife Courtney, and fiancé Roberta Kuhl. George graduated from Gassaway High School, class of 1962 and attended Fairmont State College. He achieved the rank of Staff Sargent within the West Virginia Army National Guard. George continued his life’s work and dedication at Allegheny Energy, from which he retired. George enjoyed spending time on his farm, hunting, supporting West Virginia Sports, and a good cup of coffee. He was a beloved husband, father, and friend to many.
Service was 2 p.m. Sunday, March 25, 2012 at Richard M. Roach Funeral Home, Gassaway with Elder Larry Fisher officiating. Burial was in the David Hamric Memorial Cemetery on Tate Creek.
Friends called from 6 to 9 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.

Roger Lee Flint
Roger Lee Flint, 58, of Little Birch,WV died on March 24, 2012 in Nicholas Co. Nursing and Rehab Center.
He was born on June 30, 1953 in Braxton County to Polly Bowers Flint and the late Hobert Ray Flint.
Roger was a caregiver for his mother and a Baptist by faith. He was preceded in death by his Father.
Roger is survived by his loving mother, which was by his side to the end, Polly Bowers Flint, and his loving caregiver Sandy Jones.
Funeral services were held at 1:00 pm on Monday March 26, 2012, at Greene- Robertson Funeral Home with Rev. Tom Propst officiating. Visitation will be two hours before the service, burial will follow in the Sugar Creek Cemetery.
