Keith Wayne Barton

Keith Wayne Barton, 58, of Hugheston, passed away after a short illness on August 11, 2006, at his home surrounded by his family and friends.

He was born in Hugheston on December 11, 1947, on his mother's birthday, and remained a lifelong resident.

Keith proudly served his country during the Vietnam War in the Army. He was a coal miner for American Electric Power and grounds crew operator for WVU Tech.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Emmarilla Barton Proctor; and father, Leo Harold Proctor.

He is survived by his devoted wife of 25 years, Patricia Jones Barton; daughter and son-in-law, Christina Barton Holliday and Shawn Holliday; grandson, Parker Wayne Holliday, all of Alta; sister and brother-in-law, Karen Proctor Sankoff and Merrel Sankoff; niece and nephew, Lindsay and Nolan Sankoff, all of Pinch. He is also survived by many cousins and dear friends.

We want to extend our thanks and appreciation to his lifelong friend, Larry Rapp. We want to thank our cousin Doug Snyder and his girlfriend Lori Morgan for their devotion and love during his illness.

We also want to thank Diane Wilson for her kindness, love and wit, and Ed Young for his dear friendship.

Special appreciation is sent to Dr. F.E. Jugo and his staff. At Keith's request, he will be cremated and no service will be held.

Ella Lucille Fugate

Ella Lucille Fugate, 83, of Sharon, went home to the arms of her Lord and Savior Sunday, August 13, 2006, after a long illness.

Sis Fugate dedicated her life to God and to winning souls for Christ. She leaves a legacy of faith with her children and with those whom were saved under her ministry.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Troy Fugate; and son, Ronald Lee Fugate, both of Sharon. She was also preceded in death by her father and mother, Bert and Beulah Hudson; and sister, Audrey King, all of Florida.

She is survived by daughters, Linda McQuabbie of Charleston, Brenda Dickens of Sharon, Joann Kelly-Drummond of Nitro and Regina Fugate of Ronda; son, Jerry Fugate; and daughter-in-law, Nita Fugate of Giles. She is also survived by her special grandson, Jason Ronald Fugate, whom she called her “love bug”. She is also survived by 11 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.

The Fugate family would like to extend special thanks to Brenda “BK” Green, of Ronda for all of her help during these trying times.

Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. on Tuesday, August 15, at the church, and one hour prior to the services on Wednesday.

Claude D. Lyons

Claude David Lyons, 58, of Charleston, passed away August 15th, at home after a long illness.

David was an avid hunter, a U.S. Army Veteran of the Vietnam War, and a section boss at several coal mines in the Kanawha Valley with many years of service at Valley Camp Coal Company.

David was a loving husband, father, brother, and friend.

David was preceded in death by his father Claude B. Lyons.

He is survived by wife Jeanie; son, Christopher; daughter, Angela Snyder and husband Matt; sisters, Deanna Lyons of St. Albans, Gail Summers and husband Donald of Pond Gap, Paula Lyons of St. Albans, Judy Taylor and husband Robert of Belle; plus many nieces, nephews, and Heather Stokes, Julie Chander Lyons, and Gerald Sigmon.

There will be Military Graveside Rites at the Cemetery by the Gauley Bridge VFW.

Memorials: In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to Kanawha Hospice Care, Inc. 1143 Dunbar Avenue, Dunbar, WV 25064.

Matthew Humphreys

Matthew “Matt” Humphreys, 18, of Mammoth died Sunday, August 6th, 2006 as a result from injuries in an auto accident.

He was a life long resident of Mammoth and a graduate of Riverside High School. He was a high school football player for Riverside High and was selected to play in the North & South football game. He was a protestant.

He is survived by his father, Wilbert “Moose” Humphreys & mother, Sara Daniels Humphreys of Mammoth; grandmothers, Anna Humphreys of Mammoth, Wanda Daniels of Ward; brothers, Ryan & Koty Humphreys of Mammoth; and a host of aunts, uncles, and friends.

Marvin H. Eller

Marvin H. “Earl” Eller of Mount Nebo passed away Sunday, Aug. 13, 2006.

He was a crane operator for U.M.W. Construction. He was a U.S. Army veteran of the Vietnam War. He was a member of the Christ Temple in Winifrede.

He was a loving husband, a tender father, and an extraordinary grandfather.

He was preceded in death by his father, Earl Eller; mother, Lois Rouse; daughter, Michelle McKinney; son, David Seargent; and twin brother, Melvin “George” Eller.

He is survived by his wife, Vivian R. Massy Eller; son, Marvin H. Eller II of Mount Nebo; daughters, Kellie A. Frame of Birch River, Natalie Hall of Mount Nebo; brothers, Jack E. Brown of Chelyan, Gary Eller of Alum Creek; and granddaughters, Katie Dorsey, Britney Hall, Stephanie Thompson, Brandy Hall, Sarah Frame, and Alexis Frame.

Susan Little

Susan Little, 58, of Cross Lanes passed away Aug. 16, 2006, after a long illness.

She was a former waitress who worked in the food service industry.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Ronnie A. Childress and Irma Nell Rife.

She is survived by her husband, Earl Little of Cross Lanes; son, Robert Hesson, his wife, Kim, and their children, Kiera, Adam and Sandi; son, Jerry Hesson, his wife, Teresa, and their children, Jerica and Cailyn; son, Mark Hesson, his wife, Laura, and their children, Jacey, Derick and Skylar; and sisters, Brenda Childress and Marie Childress.

Memorials: In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to HospiceCare, 1143 Dunbar Ave., Dunbar, WV 25064.

Mary V. Lytton

Mary Virginia Johnson Lytton, 88 formally of Nitro, died Tuesday, March 25th, 2008 in Ozark MO. Where she had spent the last few years living with her daughter.

Mary was born March 16th, 1920 in Jackson Co. WV, but spent most of her adult life in the Kanawha and Putnam area. She was a full time mother and homemaker. Before moving to Missouri, Mary was for many years a member of the St. Paul’s United Methodist Church in Nitro, an active member of the Methodist Women’s Circle #5 and a homeroom mother every year while her children were in school and a Brownie Scout leader. She was one of the founding members of the Nitro Women’s Club and active member of the Putnam County Republican Club in the 1960s.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 49 years Carroll M. Lytton; her parents Otis Johnson and Georgia Baker Johnson Hudson; her brothers, Clarence and Carl Johnson; her sisters, Gladys Caplinger, Eulah Baumel and Vera Kelbaugh; and her son in law Louis S. DiCastri.

Mary is survived by her daughters: Nancy Carol and husband Gus Coats of Ponte Vedra Beach Fl., Sandra Sue DiCastri of Sarasota, Fl. Mary Katherine and husband James Roberts of Ozark, MO., Wilma Jean and husband Donald Pitzer of Nitro. 7-Grandchildren and 16- Great Grandchildren.

Mary Ann Campbell

Mary Ann Eberbaugh Campbell, 84, of South Charleston passed away Sunday April 6, 2008, at CAMC Memorial Hospital, Charleston.

Mary Ann was a longtime resident of Kanawha City and a retired registered nurse for the Kanawha Charleston Health Department. She was a graduate of the University of Louisville School of Nursing and of Charleston High School.

She was a member of Village Chapel Presbyterian Church for over 50 years where she was a member of Ladies Circle 2 of the Church. She was also a member of the John Young Chapter of the DAR, the Grandparents Club, the Rug Hookers Club and various bridge clubs in the Charleston area.

Her husband, Robert Campbell Sr., preceded her in death.

Surviving: son, Dr. Robert “Bob” Campbell and his wife, Nancy, of Charleston; daughters, Julia Campbell of Charleston, Sue Dolphin and her husband, Daniel, of Bethlehem, Pa., Patricia Campbell of Charleston and Mary Melissa “Missy” France and her husband, John, of South Charleston; grandchildren, Bryan DiVita and his wife, Amanda, of Woodstock, Ga., Robert DiVita of Charleston, Matthew Guerrero of Charleston, Dr. Brooke Fox and her husband, Andrew, of Columbus, Ohio, Clark Campbell of Rockville, Md., Joshua and Tyler Dolphin, both of Bethlehem, Pa., Jason Campbell of Allentown, Pa., and Carter, Meredith and Julia France, all of South Charleston; and one great-grandchild, Isabella DiVita of Woodstock, Ga.

Memorials: In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Village Chapel Presbyterian Church, 3818 Venable Ave., Charleston, WV 25304, the Union Mission or The Salvation Army.

Oleta C. Cumbridge

Oleta C. Hall Cumbridge, 93, of Glasgow, passed away Saturday May 17, 2008, at Montgomery General hospital after a short illness.

Oleta lived most of her life in Glasgow and was a homemaker. She was a member of the Glasgow United Methodist Church, Glasgow.

Oleta was preceded in death by her husband, Emmons Cumbridge.

Surviving are son, Leonard Cumbridge of Glasgow; daughters, Naomi Davis of Baldwin, Mich., and Judy Buckley of Glasgow; brother, Charles Hall of Akron, Ohio; sisters, Lola Byard of Akron, Ohio, Helen Mollohan of Phoenix, Ariz., Virginia McGraw of Beckley, Norma Sizemore of Glasgow and Jessie Maiuri of Summersville; six grandsons; six great-granddaughters; one great-grandson; and one great-great-grandson.

Randall J. Saunders

Randall J. Saunders, 49, of Nitro, passed away Tuesday, May 20, 2008, at Thomas Memorial Hospital after a short illness.

He was a service manager for Brandywine Homes. He was a longtime resident of the Nitro and Cross Lanes area. Randall was a Christian and attended Cross Lanes Bible Church. He will be missed by many friends and family. Randy's saying was, “he was jack of all trades and master of none.”

He was preceded in death by his parents, Herbert Saunders and Mary Maynard Saunders.

Surviving are his wife, Sandra Saunders; son, Jesse Saunders of Raleigh N.C.; daughter, Erin Saunders of Nitro; brothers, Herb Saunders of Logan, Michael Saunders of Charlotte, John Saunders of Logan, Mark Saunders of Jacksonville, Fla.; sister, Shelia Rowell of Jacksonville, Fla.

Memorials: In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the American Diabetes Association.

Wilma Ferrari

Wilma Moore Ferrari, 85, of Charleston, passed away Friday, May 23, 2008, after a short illness.

Wilma had many achievements throughout her life and was a true role model for her family and her students. She was well ahead of her time by receiving her teaching degree from Morris Harvey College in 1956 and a Master's degree from West Virginia University in 1959. Wilma worked hard and valued education for her students as a fifth grade teacher at Cross Lanes Elementary for 28 years.

In retirement, she was always an avid follower of current events and she enjoyed working on craft projects by making little baskets and snowflakes for family and friends who helped her. Wilma overcame many things in her life and even after becoming handicapped, she attended multiple athletic events, anything from t-ball, junior high school sports or college sports, throughout the state of West Virginia and the United States to watch her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She will be sadly missed by all family and friends.

Wilma was preceded in death by her husband, Stanley Stafford Ferrari; and her son, Victor Ferrari.

Surviving are son, Edward R. Ferrari of Nitro; daughters, Patsy Ferrari Berry of Charleston, and Judy Ferrari Locke of Nitro; eight grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; a loving sister-in-law, Wanda Parrish of Las Vegas, Nev.; and many nieces and nephews.

The family would like to give special thanks to Candi Alqutub and Karen Glover.

Memorials: In lieu of flowers, the family has asked for donations to be made to the Buffalo High School Athletic Department where her son, Vic Ferrari, dedicated many years of service as a teacher and coach.

Charles R. Agee

Charles Robert Agee, “Bobby” as he was known to friends and family, went home to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on May 24, 2008.

Bobby was many things to many people-husband, father, grandfather, son, brother, friend, Sunday school teacher, lay leader of his church, WVU fan, but most of all he was loved and cherished by all that knew him.

Bobby always had a smile on his face, a laugh in his heart, and a twinkle in his eye. He touched many lives and will be missed by all. Bobby was a poet and a great philosopher. He always would be quick to offer help, advice, or a shoulder on which to cry. Bobby attended St. Paul's United Methodist Church in Nitro. He worked at Bayer Crop Science for 23 years. He was a great Christian man who relied on the Lord in good times and bad. Bobby loved WVU and was an avid Mountaineer fan. He loved to golf, read, go to movies with his wife, and play with his grandchildren. Bobby passed away at his favorite place- the ocean. He was 56.

Bobby is survived by his loving wife and best friend of 36 years, Nancy Agee; children, Josh Agee and Tiffani Smith; their spouses, Allison Agee and Bub Smith; grandchildren, Caitlyn and Mackenzie Smith; parents, Charlie and Eileen Agee; sisters, Kay Mikeal and Terri Markham; his church family; and his bible study group, 'The Crackpots.'
