U.S., Social Security Death Index, 1935-2014

James Franklin Clark, 96, of California Ridge,
Belleville, passed away April 9, 2006, at his
home.
He was born April 12, 1909, at Belleville, a
son of the late James and Nora Smith Clark.
Jim attended Ford Chapel United Methodist
Church when he was younger. He retired from
Union Carbide and was a former employee of
Parkersburg Steel Mill. During construction of
the Belleville Dam, he worked at transporting
workers to the site. He was a U.S. Army
veteran of World War II. He enjoyed farming,
hunting and fishing.
Survivors include his wife, Maxine Board Smith
Clark; six sons, Nelson Smith and wife, Eva
Jean, of Belpre, Willie Clark and wife,
Bonnie, of Lancaster, Ohio, James G. Clark of
Columbus, Ga., Ron Clark and wife, Mary, of
Rockport, Dale Clark and wife, Sandy, of
Palestine and Bill Clark and wife, Kelly, of
Belleville; one daughter, Connie Anderson of
Vienna; two stepsons, Donald Smith and wife,
Connie, of Valley Mills and Carroll Smith and
wife, Melissa, of Davisville; several
grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-
great-grandchildren; and several nieces and
nephews.
He was preceded in death by a son,
Denver "Buck" Clark; an infant daughter,
Glenna Mae Clark; three brothers; and six
sisters.
The funeral service will be conducted at 2
p.m. Wednesday at Kimes Funeral Home, 521
Fifth St., Parkersburg, with Pastor Roger
Johnson officiating. Burial will follow at Mt.
Zion Cemetery at Belleville. Friends may call
from 2-4 and 5-8 p.m. Tuesday and until the
time of service Wednesday at the funeral home.

John C. Reynolds, 55, of the Sistersville Care
Center, formerly of Lexington Park in Vienna,
passed away April 8, 2006, at the Sistersville
Center.
He was born July 6, 1950, in West Virginia, a
son of the late Clinton and Ruth Flowers
Reynolds. John was of the Baptist faith.
Survivors include two brothers, Norman
Reynolds of Weston and Charles Reynolds of
Parkersburg.
The funeral service will be 2 p.m. Thursday at
Kimes Funeral Home, 521 Fifth St.,
Parkersburg, with Pastor Jerry Caplinger
officiating. Burial will follow at the Willow
Island Cemetery. Friends may call from noon
until service time Thursday at the funeral
home.

Amy Marie Parsons, 13, of Mineral Wells passed
away April 7, 2006, at St. Joseph’s Hospital.
She was born March 12, 1993, in West Virginia.
Her adopted parents are the Rev. Roger L.
Parsons and Beverly Moore Parsons of Mineral
Wells. She was a member of the Chesterville
United Methodist Church and she was enrolled
in the Special Needs Program at the Mineral
Wells School.
In addition to her parents, she is survived by
a brother, Benjamin Parsons, and a sister,
Megan Parsons, both at home; her paternal
grandparents, Lula and Charles Donalson of
Parkersburg; and maternal grandmother, Mary
Moore of Belleville.
The funeral service will be 11 a.m. Tuesday at
Kimes Funeral Home, 521 Fifth St.,
Parkersburg, with the Rev. Carlos Nutter and
the Rev. Ron Sommerville officiating. Burial
will follow at Pond Creek Baptist Church
Cemetery. Friends may call from 4-8 p.m. today
at the funeral home.

Jeanette Pryor Hickman, 82, of Parkersburg
went home to be with the Lord on April 7,
2006, at Camden-Clark Memorial Hospital.
She was born Aug. 31, 1923, at Wood County, a
daughter of the late John Raleigh Pryor and
the late Iva Beatrice Barnhart Pryor.
She was a member of the Beechwood Presbyterian
Church and a homemaker. She enjoyed auctions,
antiques and her grandchildren.
She is survived by her husband of 62 years,
Robert Joseph Hickman; two daughters, Sandra
Pettit and husband, Roger, of Little Hocking
and Christine Lowe of Vienna; one brother,
James Franklin Pryor of Vienna; three
grandchildren, Angela Sams and husband, Steve,
Jenny Baker and Robert Lowe; three great-
grandchildren, Shenae Logston, Chase Sams and
Lyndsay Baker; and one great-grandchild, Cade
Mulligan.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded
in death by a son-in-law, Charles Lowe Jr.;
eight sisters; and one brother.
Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Monday at
Kimes Funeral Home, Parkersburg, with the Rev.
John Koerner officiating. Friends may call
from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Sunday at the funeral
home.
The family requests that donations be sent to
the Beechwood Presbyterian Church “Sanctuary
House” fund, 703 30th St., Parkersburg, WV.

Howard Earl Guenther, 63, of Marietta died
April 6, 2006, at Parkersburg.
He was born July 11, 1942, at Cleveland, Ohio,
a son of Leonard Guenther of Florida and the
late Ruth Scheipner Guenther. He had been
employed by Thermoelectron as a technical
writer photographer, was a member of the Port
Clinton Yacht Club, past president of the Port
Clinton Kiwanis, was past governor of the Port
Clinton Moose Club, enjoyed golf and was of
the Baptist faith.
In addition to his father, he is survived by
his stepmother, Betty Guenther of Florida; a
cousin, Carol Ann Legan of Cleveland; and his
significant other, Patty Verderose of
Parkersburg.
Memorial services will be 5 p.m. Monday at
Kimes Funeral Home, 521 Fifth Street,
Parkersburg, with Pastor Bernard Thrash
officiating. Friends may call one hour prior
to services Monday at the funeral home.
The family requests that memorial donations be
made to the Scleroderma Foundation, 300
Rosewood Drive, Suite 105, Danvers, MA 01923.

Harold James Stoneking, 89, of Williamstown
passed away April 1, 2006, at his home
surrounded by his family and special friend
and caregiver, Betty Morris.
He was born March 22, 1917, in Braxton County,
a son of the late Forney Patrick and Edna
Lenore Rhoades Stoneking. Harold was a member
of the Sand Hill United Methodist Church and
was retired from Union Carbide. He was a U.S.
Army veteran of World War II. His past hobbies
include fishing, gardening, painting and
photography.
Survivors include his wife of nearly 65 years,
Freda Marie Johnson Stoneking; two sons,
Harold J. Stoneking Jr. and his wife, Shirley,
of Winchester, Ky., and William Patrick
Stoneking and his wife, Diana, of Reno, Ohio;
four daughters, Doris Mae Stoneking of
Parkersburg, Elaine Hannaman and husband, Don,
Jane Jurado and husband, Johnny, all of
Parkersburg, and Nancy Line and husband,
Richard, of Clifton, Va.; 12 grandchildren; 15
great-grandchildren; three brothers, Denzil
Stoneking and Dean Stoneking, both of
Parkersburg, and Paul Stoneking of
Nicholasville, Ky.
He was preceded in death by an infant
daughter, Roberta Marie Stoneking; a grandson,
Steven Patrick Stoneking; a brother, Victor
Stoneking; and a sister, Helen Kilgore.
The funeral services will be 2 p.m. Monday at
Kimes Funeral Home, 521 Fifth St.,
Parkersburg, with the Rev. Gene Eaton and the
Rev. Calvin McCutcheon officiating. Burial
will follow at the Mt. Olivet Cemetery, with
military rites conducted by the American
Legion Post 15. Friends may call from 2-8 p.m.
today at the funeral home.
