Marie Willa Lambert, 92, of Washington, W.Va.,
passed away March 6, 2006, at her home.
She was born July 26, 1913, at Troy in Gilmer
County, a daughter of the late William and
Evelyn Frymier Knisley.
Marie was a long time member of South
Parkersburg Baptist Church and was retired
from Sears Department Store as department
manager. She was a member of the Sears
Retirees Club.
Surviving are her son, James W. (Jim) Lambert
and his wife, Helen, of Parkersburg; her
daughter, Jackie Huffman Turner and her
husband, Darrell Turner, of Washington; seven
grandchildren, Chris, Mike, Joy and James Lee
Lambert, Randall, Ronald and Richard Huffman;
and three great-grandchildren, Nicole,
Brittany and Ronald Huffman; and one sister,
Helen Greenlief of Wierton, W.Va.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Jack
Arnold Lambert; a son-in-law, Charles H.
Huffman; a great-granddaughter, Brandy
Huffman; a brother, William Knisley; and two
sisters, Mary Flowers and Alice Rowe.
The family would like to thank the Hospice
Association for the care and compassion shown
to Mrs. Lambert during her illness.

The funeral service will be conducted at 11
a.m. Saturday at Kimes Funeral Home, 521 Fifth
St., Parkersburg, with Pastor Joe Busch
officiating. Burial will follow at Sunset

Dayton James Bussey Sr., 78, of Parkersburg
passed away Feb. 28, 2006, at his residence.
He was born July 20, 1927, at Reedsville,
W.Va., a son of the late Jess and Emma Mary
Mathews Bussey. Dayton was retired from
Cardinal Construction of Ashland, Ky. He had
served on the Parkersburg Fire Department and
was the original owner of Bussey Plumbing. He
had served in the U.S. Armed Forces during
World War II. After his retirement, he enjoyed
hunting and fishing with his son, grandson and
son-in-law.
Surviving are his son, Dayton James Bussey Jr.
and wife, Carla, of Vienna; his daughter,
Linda Kay Lipson and husband, Stephen, of
Lilburn, Ga.; son-in-law, Bobby Jack Fowler of
Parkersburg; grandchildren, Jason Bussey and
wife, Stephanie, of Beckley and Eric and Ryan
Lipson of Lilburn; great-granddaughters, Emma
Marie and Ella Lindsey Bussey of Beckley;
brothers-in-law, Okey Phares and wife,
Theresa, and Roy Phares and wife, Karen;
stepsister, Wanda Graham; sisters-in-law, Lola
Bussey, Gloria Strawder, Helen Lambert and
Judy Phares; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Betty J.
Phares Bussey; a daughter, Margaret Ellen
(Marg) Fowler; a grandson, Okey Blaine Bussey;
brothers, Dale and Bobby Bussey; and sister,
Nellie Coleman.
The funeral service will be 11 a.m. Saturday
at Kimes Funeral Home, 521 Fifth Street,
Parkersburg, with Pastor Dave Ellenwood
officiating. Burial will follow at Sunset

James Dale Sampson, 81, of Parkersburg passed
away Feb. 28, 2006, at Camden-Clark Memorial
Hospital.
He was born Aug. 29, 1924, in Calhoun County,
a son of the late John Edward and Pearl
Craddock Sampson. Mr. Sampson retired from
Johns-Mansville with 38 years of service. He
was a member of the Lightner Memorial Church
and had served in the U.S. Army during World
War II.
Surviving are his daughter, Angelia and her
husband, Wilson “Billy” Matthey, of Walker;
three grandchildren, Josey Matthey and Minday
Matthey, both of Parkersburg, and Lacey de-
Guzman and husband, Ryan, of California; a
great-grandson, Braden de-Guzman; a special
aunt, Muriel Bassnett of Calhoun County;
nephew, Gary Sampson and wife, Chris, and
their daughter, Michelle, of Parkersburg; and
his life long close friend and soul mate,
Bernadine Ayers Evans of Grantsville.
He was preceded in death by his wife,
Geraldine Cunningham Sampson in 1987; his son,
Wayne Sampson in 1978; and a brother, Randall
Sampson.
The funeral service will be 11 a.m. Friday at
Kimes Funeral Home, 521 Fifth Street,
Parkersburg, with the Rev. Tim Henson
officiating. Burial will follow at the Gibson
Cemetery near Arnoldsburg in Calhoun County.
Friends may call from 2-6 p.m. today at the
funeral home.
Beverly Anne Berry, 69, of Parkersburg, more
recently a resident of the Arbors of Marietta,
passed away Feb. 27, 2006, in the emergency
room at Marietta Memorial Hospital.
She was born in Parkersburg, a daughter of the
late Edward Brannon and Wilma E. Williams
Amos. Beverly was a graduate of Parkersburg
High School and was a homemaker.
Surviving are two sons, Ross W. Berry and
wife, Pam, of Davidson, N.C., and Clifton B.
Berry and wife, Susan, of Parkersburg; a
daughter, Nancy L. Allen and husband, Brian,
of Elizabeth; three grandchildren, Heather,
Zachary and Tyler Berry; her aunt, Janice
Roberts of Parkersburg; and several cousins.
There will be a memorial service at 2 p.m.
Friday at Stephenson Memorial United Methodist
Church, 805 Liberty Street, Parkersburg, with
the Rev. Terry Alvarez officiating. Burial of
her cremated remains will follow at Evergreen
North Cemetery. The family will be receiving
friends from noon until time of service Friday
at the church.
Kimes Funeral Home and Cremation Service is
assisting the family with the arrangements.
Darwin T. Watson, 57, of Parkersburg passed
away Feb. 24, 2006, at Camden-Clark Memorial
Hospital.
He was born in Parkersburg, a son of Mary M.
Loy Watson of Parkersburg and the late Paul C.
Watson. Darwin was retired from Schott
Scientific and had served in the United States
Marines. When he was able, he enjoyed hunting
and fishing.
In addition to his mother, he is survived by
two brothers, Jerry C. Watson and Ronald L.
Watson, both of Parkersburg; his sister, Debra
G. Spears of Waterford, Ohio; several nieces
and nephews; two former wives, Estella Davis
Watson and Karen DeMoss Watson, both of
Parkersburg; and special friends, Dan Nutter
and Mike Abbott.
He was preceded in death by his son, Jeremy
Watson; his paternal grandparents, Cecil and
Edna Watson; and maternal grandparents, Lannes
and Nannie Loy.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Tuesday at
Kimes Funeral Home, 521 Fifth St.,
Parkersburg. Pastor Gene Waybright will
officiate and burial will follow at Mt. Olivet
Cemetery. Friends may call from 4-8 p.m.
Monday at the funeral home.
