Cecil Forest Sellers, 85, of Parkersburg
passed away Monday, Dec. 12, 2005, at his
home.
Cecil was born Feb. 23, 1920, at Wadesville, a
son of the late John and Georgia Wigal
Sellers. He was an active member of the
Wadesville Church of Christ and was a World
War II U.S. Army veteran, having served from
1942-1945. He was employed by Miller and Ruth
Furniture Co. for 22 years and retired from
the Wood County Board of Education maintenance
department in 1982 with 11 years of service.
He lived in the Wadesville area until 1977
when they moved to Parkersburg.
Surviving are his wife of 59 years, Sarah
Eloise Sellers, whom he married June 12, 1946;
three children, Connie Lemley and her husband,
Phil, of Rockport, Tim Sellers and his wife,
Gloria, and Terry Sellers and his wife, Anita,
all of Parkersburg; six grandchildren, Eric
Lemley and wife, Kim, Jennifer Simmons and
husband, Jim, T.J. Sellers and wife, Amber,
Bryan Sellers and wife, Ashley, Amber Walker
and husband, Bub, and Josh Sellers; and one
great-grandson, Koen Sellers.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in
death by an infant son, Kevin Ray Sellers; and
four brothers, Floyd, Ed, Okey and Don Sellers.
The funeral service will be 3 p.m. Thursday at
Kimes Funeral Home, 521 Fifth St.,
Parkersburg, with Evangelist David Newberry
officiating. Burial will follow at the
Wadesville Cemetery. Friends may call from 2-8
p.m. today and from noon to 2 p.m. Thursday at
the funeral home.
Emmitt A. Dowler, 82, of Parkersburg passed
away Dec. 11, 2005, at his home following an
extended illness.
He was born March 11, 1923, at Rockport, a son
of the late David Andrew and Chloe Ruble
Dowler. Emmitt attended the Camden Temple and
formerly attended the Rockport Tri-County
Worship Center. He was a 27-year employee at
Penn Metal and a 15-year employee at the
DeSales Heights Academy. His hobbies included
hunting and fishing.
Surviving is his wife of 56 years, Sarah E.
Kerr Dowler; seven sons and their wives,
Darrell and Shirley Dowler of Spencer, Ohio,
Samuel and Pam Dowler of Parkersburg, Tommy
and Cindy Dowler of Wadesville, Emmitt and
Brenda Dowler, Billy Joe and Terry Dowler,
Danny and Ginger Dowler and Bradford and Angie
Dowler, all of Parkersburg; six daughters and
their husband, Linda and Jim Fought of
Elizabeth, Ellen and Larry Stewart of
Rockport, Emily and Allen Nelson of
Washington, Sandra and Terry Lockhart of
Mineral Wells, Jone and James Hendershot and
Debra and Dave Monroe, all of Parkersburg; 23
grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a daughter, Angela
Dowler; a grandson, Douglas Alan Stewart;
three brothers, Floyd, James and June Dowler;
and four sisters, Eve Burchard, Mary Jones,
Evelyn Johnson and Dorothy Flinn.
The funeral service will be 2:30 p.m. Tuesday
at Kimes Funeral Home, 521 Fifth St.,
Parkersburg, with Pastor Everett Snyder
officiating. Burial will follow at Sunset
Memory Gardens. Friends may call from 2-4 and
6-8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
Marilyn Lucille Furner Blair, 43, of
Parkersburg passed away Dec. 9, 2005, at her
home.
Marilyn was born May 13, 1962, in Parkersburg,
a daughter of Betty Lucille Flinn Furner of
Parkersburg and the late Dempsey Lee Furner
Sr. She was a former employee of Schott
Scientific Glass.
Surviving is her daughter, Kristi Blair of
Parkersburg; her grandson, Kristofer Dylan
Furner; special pet, "Jake"; and three
brothers, Dean Furner of Williamstown and
David Furner and Mark Furner, both of
Parkersburg.
She was preceded in death by a brother,
Dempsey Lee Furner Jr.
The funeral service will be 11 a.m. Wednesday
at Kimes Funeral Home, 521 Fifth St.,
Parkersburg, with the Rev. Jeff Nolte
officiating. Burial will follow at the Pond
Creek Baptist Church Cemetery in the
Belleville-Rockport area. Friends may call
from 5-8 p.m. today and from 9 a.m. until
service time Wednesday at the funeral home.
Sharon Gean Lemley Watters, 57, of Parkersburg
passed away Dec. 9, 2005, at St. Joseph's
Hospital following an extended illness.
Sharon was born May 5, 1948, in Parkersburg, a
daughter of the late Walter L. "Shorty" Lemley
and Linnie Townsend Lemley. She was a member
of the Lubeck Church of Christ. She was a
former employee of Dairy Queen on south side
and had worked as a product demonstrator at
Wal-Mart. She baby sat for several children
over the years and enjoyed bowling, cards
games and long telephone conversations with
friends and relatives.
Surviving are her husband, Don Watters; two
stepsons, John Watters of Beaver Creek, Ohio,
and Donald Waters II of Cocoa, Fla.; three
stepdaughters, Dona Lynn Giddings of Lubeck,
Linda Milhoan of Belpre and Tina Louise
Watters of Vienna; six step grandchildren; two
brothers, Larry "Butch" Lemley and his wife,
Doris, and Bill Lemley and his wife, Mary, all
of Parkersburg; two sisters, Kathy Ingram and
her husband, Tim, and Shirley Hunt and her
husband, Camden, all of Washington, W.Va.; two
aunts, Edna Hively of Parkersburg and
Geraldine Eaton of Belleville; a special
cousin, Linda Lemley Baker of Parkersburg; and
several other cousins, nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by a step
grandchild.
The funeral service will be 11 a.m. Monday at
the Lubeck Church of Christ, with Evangelist
David Newberry and Jason Thompson officiating.
Entombment will follow at Sunset Memory
Gardens. Friends may call from 7-9 p.m. today
and from 1-9 p.m. Sunday at the Kimes Funeral
Home, 521 Fifth St., Parkersburg, and also one
hour prior to service Monday at the church.
Kenny Ray Barker III, two months, of Junction
City, Kan., died Dec. 4, 2005, at home.
He was born Sept. 26, 2005, at Fort Riley,
Kan.
Surviving are his parents, Kenny Ray Barker
Jr. and Therese Snyder Barker and one half
sister, Natasha Jo Elizabeth Ott. Also
surviving are paternal grandparents, Kenny and
Lori Barker; maternal grandparents, Margaret
S. Davidson and Daniel Ray Snyder; and
paternal great-grandparents, Linda Kyer and
Veryl Wayne Blackwell.
Visitation will be 6-8 p.m. Monday at Kimes
Funeral Home. Services will be 1 p.m. Tuesday
at the funeral home, with Pastor David Owens
officiating. Burial will follow in the Shiloh
Cemetery, Laurel Creek Road, Wood County.
