William S. Stanley
William S. "Bill" Stanley, 79, of Belpre
passed away May 8, 2005, at Camden-Clark
Memorial Hospital.
He was born Sept. 30, 1925, at Bridgeport,
W.Va., a son of the late Van and Fannie Taylor
Stanley. Bill was a member of the Winding Road
Church of Christ and was a retired carpenter
being a member of the local labor union. He
was a U.S. Air Force veteran of World War II.
Surviving are his wife, Dorcas J. Shutts
Balderson Stanley; one daughter, Janice Haas
of Sarasota, Fla., two sons, Steven L. Yoho of
Parkersburg and David R. Yoho of Walker; one
stepdaughter, Sarah Hinzman of Parkersburg;
two stepsons, Roy Balderson and David
Balderson, both of Parkersburg; 15
grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; and one
brother, Victor Stanley of Winter Haven, Fla.
He was preceded in death by his second wife,
D. Irene Stanley; and a daughter, Lynn
Peterson.
The funeral service will be 1 p.m. Wednesday
at Kimes Funeral Home, 521 Fifth Street,
Parkersburg, with Evangelist Keith Malone
officiating. Burial will follow at Evergreen
South Cemetery with military rites conducted
by the American Legion Post 15. The family
will be receiving friends from 2-4 and 6-8
p.m. today at the funeral home.
Crystal I. Whiting
Crystal Ilene Sunya Whiting, 28, of Vienna
died Wednesday, May 4, 2005, at Camden-Clark
Memorial Hospital.
She was born Feb. 12, 1977, in Parkersburg, a
daughter of Yon Im "Suzy" Lynch and husband,
Delbert Jr., of Waverly, and Robert James
Whiting and wife, Mary, of Sandyville, W.Va.
Miss Whiting had served as a volunteer at the
St. Joseph's Hospital for many years, was an
avid reader and swimmer and enjoyed spending
time and working with children.
She is survived by her parents; one brother,
Robert Whiting II and wife, Theresa, of
Loraine, Ohio; three sisters, Alicia Whiting-
Bozich and husband, Neal, of Loraine, Ohio,
Jennifer Lynch of Parkersburg and Christi
Lynch of Columbus, Ohio; one aunt, Diann
Capocasa of Amherst, Ohio; one niece, Taylor
Whiting of Loraine, Ohio; a special friend and
caregiver, Lester Stewart of Vienna; and her
two pet cats, Roshi and Fluffy.
She was preceded in death by her paternal
grandparents, Robert and Ilene Whiting, and
maternal grandparents.
A celebration of life funeral service will be
11 a.m. Saturday at Kimes Funeral Home, 521
Fifth St., Parkersburg, with Evangelist Keith
Kress officiating. Burial will follow in the
Sunset Memory Gardens. Family will receive
friends 2-8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
Clinton W. Reeder
Clinton Woodrow Reeder, 87, of Marrtown Road,
Parkersburg, and a current resident of
Ravenswood Care Center, passed away May 3,
2005, at Jackson General Hospital in Ripley.
He was born June 25, 1917, in Parkersburg, a
son of the late Clayton Garfield Reeder and
Bessie Jackson Reeder Canary. Clinton retired
from the AB Chance Co., was a U.S. Army
veteran of World War II, had bowled on many
leagues at Ren-Dor Lanes, had been a softball
team manager and was affiliated with the
Church of Christ.
Surviving is one son, Randy Reeder and his
wife, Missy, of Parkersburg; a daughter, Nancy
Tackett and her husband, Bill, of Ripley;
daughter-in-law, Pat Reeder of Newport, Ohio;
six grandchildren, Angie Price and husband,
Trevor, Carrie Reeder Bays and husband,
Anthony, Jason Reeder and fiance, Andrea
Conover, Sara West, Michael West and Brandi
Staats; five step grandchildren, JR Tackett,
Kristen Tackett, David Tustin, Sadona
Schofield and Eric Tustin; eight great-
grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his wife,
Geraldine "Jerry" Reeder; a son, Rick Reeder;
six brothers, Harry, Raymond, Robert, Harvey,
Jimmy and George "Tiny" Reeder; and two
sisters, Minnie Robinson and Ruth Reed.
The funeral service will be 11 a.m. Friday at
Kimes Funeral Home, 521 Fifth Street,
Parkersburg, with Evangelist Daniel Ruegg
officiating. Burial will follow at Evergreen
South Cemetery with military rites conducted
by the American Legion Post 15 of Parkersburg.
The family will be receiving friends from 2-8
p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
William H. Flinn
William Howard "Bill" Flinn, 78, of
Parkersburg died Tuesday, April 27, 2005, at
his residence.
He was born Dec. 1, 1926, in Parkersburg, a
son of Iva C. Flinn of Parkersburg and the
late E. Paul Flinn.
Mr. Flinn was the former owner and operator,
agent and appraiser of Flinn Realty, where he
retired in the early 1980s. He is a World War
II United States Army veteran; is a member of
Masonic Lodge 169 of Parkersburg; American
Legion Post 15 of Parkersburg; and Nemesis
Shrine. He was a Protestant by faith.
He is survived by his wife, Lea (Vocat) Flinn
of Parkersburg; one sister, Phyllis Rogers of
Panama City, Fla.; one aunt, Myrtle Burdette
of Parkersburg; one uncle, Earl P. King and
wife, Mary, of Parkersburg; several nephews;
and several great-nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by one brother, Edwin
Flinn.
Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Saturday at
the Kimes Funeral Home, 521 Fifth St.,
Parkersburg, with Pastor Bernard Thrash
officiating. Burial will follow in the Mount
Olivet Cemetery. Family will receive friends
from 4-8 p.m. Friday and 9 a.m. until service
time Saturday at the funeral home.
Helen S. Coffman
Helen S. (Nannie) Coffman of Parkersburg,
passed away April 26, 2005, at her residence.
Helen was born at Strasburg, Va., a daughter
of the late Guy I. and Annie M. (Snarr)
Stickley.
She was a member of the First Christian Church
and member of the Women of the Moose.
Surviving are her daughter, Jeanette Rhodes of
Parkersburg; three grandchildren, Janice
Midcap, Jay Hammock, and Jon Hammock; four
great-grandchildren; four nieces and nephews;
and many dedicated caregivers.
She was preceded in death by her husband,
Jacob Stanley Coffman; and a sister, Addie
Gale Ramey.
There will be a memorial service 3 p.m.
Friday, at Kimes Funeral Home, 521 Fifth St.,
Parkersburg. Pastor Mike Goff will officiate.
There will be a graveside service 11 a.m.
Saturday at the Riverview Cemetery at
Strasburg, Va. The family will be receiving
friends at Kimes Funeral Home beginning at 2
p.m. Friday.
