Betty L. Bowersock Thompson
Parkersburg, WV
Betty L. Bowersock Thompson, 76, of
Parkersburg and a one-year resident of
Sunbridge Health and Rehabilitation Center,
passed away April 2, 2008, at Sunbridge.
She was born Oct. 19, 1931, in Wood County, a
daughter of the late A.E. Bowersock and Inez
Staats Bowersock.
Betty had been baptized at Bethel Baptist
Church, retired from BB&T and was a former
employee of Parkersburg National Bank and
Parkersburg Savings & Loan. She had been a
member of the VFW, the American Legion and the
Eagles.
Surviving are two sons, Michael L. Thompson
and his fiancee, Ruby Harkness, of Parkersburg
and John H. Thompson and his wife, Sherra, of
Coolville, Ohio; one daughter, Linda Harper of
Parkersburg and her fiance, John W. Riggs of
St. Marys; four grandchildren, Stacy Wilkinson
and Kimberly Thompson of Parkersburg and
Jonathan and Tyler Thompson of Coolville; two
great-grandchildren, Lissi Grace Wilkinson and
Brooklyn Hambrick; one brother, Archie
Bowersock of Parkersburg; several nieces and
nephews; and special friend and former
daughter-in-law, Becky Thompson Nichols.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded
in death by her former husband, Howard J.
Thompson Jr.; a brother, Jake Bowersock and
his wife, Jean; and a sister, Loretta Haynes
and her husband, Howard.
The funeral service will be 11 a.m. Saturday
at Kimes Funeral Home, 521 Fifth St.,
Parkersburg, with the Rev. Clay Sloan
officiating. Burial will follow at Evergreen
South Cemetery. The visitation will be from 2-
4 and 6-8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
Lois D. Lyons Staats Lattea
Vienna, WV
Lois D. Lyons Staats Lattea, 76, of Hillview
Terrace, Vienna, passed away March 30, 2008,
at Camden-Clark Memorial Hospital.
She was born Jan. 10, 1932, in Parkersburg, a
daughter of the late F.T. (Ted) and Nora Elson
Lyons. Lois was a homemaker and of the
Protestant faith and had been a member of the
VFW, Eagles, Elks and the American Legion.
Surviving are four sons, Rick Matheny of
Belpre, Dale Matheny of Glendale, Ariz.,
Dwight Matheny of Clearwater, Fla., and Alan
Buckley of Parkersburg; a daughter, Robin
Reynolds of Ravenswood; one sister, Joyce
Wilson, a resident of Arcadia Nursing Home at
Coolville; eight grandchildren, Angela Bowers
of Belpre, Laura Matheny of Phoenix, Ariz.,
Mike Matheny and his wife, Ashley, of Little
Hocking, Billy Matheny and his wife, Darcy, of
Belpre, Tyson Matheny of Phoenix, Michelle
Barber of Belpre, Brian Matheny in Georgia and
Kevin Matheny of Georgia; several great-
grandchildren, including Taylor, Mason, Emma
and Evan who will miss her sadly; and several
nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded
in death by two brothers, Gifford and Robert
Lyons.
The funeral service will be 11 a.m. Wednesday
at Kimes Funeral Home, 521 Fifth St.,
Parkersburg, with Pastor Lloyd Winans
officiating. Burial will follow at Sunset
Memory Gardens. The visitation will be from 2-
4 and 6-8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
Doris Mae Stoneking
Boaz, WV
Doris Mae Stoneking, 62, of Boaz and
Parkersburg and had currently been living with
her caregivers, Don and Virginia Forren of
Elizabeth, passed away Monday, March 24, 2008,
at Camden-Clark Memorial Hospital.
Doris was born May 26, 1945, in Wood County, a
daughter of Freda Johnson Stoneking of
Parkersburg and the late Harold Stoneking Sr.,
who took loving care of her for the first 60
years of her life. Doris was a member of the
Freedom Freewill Baptist Church.
In addition to her mother, she is survived by
two brothers, Harold J. Stoneking Jr. and his
wife, Shirley, of Winchester, Ky., and William
Patrick Stoneking and his wife, Diana, of
Reno; three sisters, Elaine Hannaman and her
husband, Don, of Parkersburg, Jane Jurado and
her husband, Johnny, of Parkersburg and Nancy
Line and her husband, Richard, of Clifton,
Va.; several nieces and nephews; and her
special sister friend, Diana.
In addition to her father, she was preceded in
death by an infant sister, Roberta Stoneking.
The funeral service will be 1 p.m. Wednesday
at Kimes Funeral Home, 521 Fifth St.,
Parkersburg, with Pastor Robert Cornell
officiating. Burial will follow at Mt. Olivet
Cemetery in Parkersburg. The visitation will
be from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. today at the funeral
home.
Patricia Sue Frame
Parkersburg, WV
Patricia Sue Frame, 61, of Parkersburg passed
away March 23, 2008, at her home.
She was born March 31, 1946, in Parkersburg, a
daughter of Mary Elizabeth Roberts Richards, a
resident of Worthington Manor Nursing Home,
and the late Donald Richards.
Patricia was a member of St. Andrews United
Methodist Church, where she worked as
custodian for many years and enjoyed
collecting dolls.
Surviving is her companion of 23 years,
Benjamin Matthews of Parkersburg; her son,
Mark Frame of Belpre; her daughter, Linda
Hensley and her husband, Gregory Hensley, of
Tuppers Plains, Ohio; two grandsons, Tyler and
Nathan Hensley of Tuppers Plains; two
brothers, Mike Richards and his wife, Joyce,
of Belpre and Donald Richards and his wife,
Donna, of Parkersburg; and several nieces and
nephews.
In addition to her father, she was preceded in
death by her Uncle George and Aunt Lelia
Echols, who raised her.
The funeral service will be 1 p.m. Thursday at
Kimes Funeral Home, 521 Fifth St.,
Parkersburg, with the Rev. Dr. Thomas McDowell
officiating. Burial will follow at Sunset
Memory Gardens. The visitation will be from 6-
8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
Judity D (Judy) Heath
Vienna, WV
Judith D. (Judy) Biram Heath, 67, of Vienna,
went home to be with her Lord and Savior on
March 17, 1008. She was a patient at Camden-
Clark Memorial Hospital.
She was born June 23, 1940, in Parkersburg, a
daughter of the late Ross L. and Virginia
Norman Biram.
Judy was a member of the First Assembly of God
and was a homemaker. She enjoyed gardening and
decorating. She loved and enjoyed her
granddaughters and she loved dogs and animals.
Surviving is her husband, Donald E. Heath; her
daughter, Tracy L. Lynch and her husband, Guy
Lynch, of Parkersburg; two granddaughters,
Tara Lynch of Parkersburg and Nikki Lynch of
Summersville, W.Va.; her sister, Susan Biram
Hite and her husband, the late Randall Hite,
of Pittsburgh; her niece, Lisa Satterlee and
her husband, Chad, and their daughter,
Samantha of Punxsutawney, Pa.; Special
friends, Karen Hayhurst of Parkersburg and
Carol McIntyre in North Carolina; and her
faithful companion pet dog, Missy.
The funeral service will be 1 p.m. Friday at
the First Assembly of God near Marrtown Road.
Pastor Tony Raffa and Pastor Robert Holland
will officiate and burial will follow at
Evergreen North Cemetery. The visitation will
be from 2-8 p.m. Thursday at Kimes Funeral
Home, 521 Fifth St., Parkersburg. On Friday,
she will lie in state at the church from noon
until service time.
