Robert Lee Greathouse
Parkersburg, WV
Robert Lee Greathouse, 62, of Parkersburg,
formerly of Boaz, went home to be with his
Lord on Feb. 12, 2008, from Camden-Clark
Memorial Hospital.
He was born Oct. 1, 1945, in Akron, Ohio, the
only son of Orville and Helen Dotson
Greathouse. He was a 1966 graduate of Calhoun
County High School. Robert was a devoted
member of the Grand Central Avenue Church of
Christ and member of the Prime Timers group of
the church. He was retired from the Wood
County Board of Education as custodian at
Jackson Junior High School. He was also a
graduate of the Charleston Barber College in
1967 and former employee of the W.Va.
Department of Highways.
Surviving is his wife, Phyllis Carol Hixson
Greathouse; two sons, Eric Robert Greathouse
and his wife, Erin, of Vienna and Mark Allen
Greathouse and his wife, Rachel, of
Parkersburg; and a brother-in-law, Paul Hixson
and his wife, Cindy, of Cambridge, Ohio. He
loved and truly enjoyed his grandchildren,
Destanie and Lauren Greathouse and Kierra,
Emily and Malachi Greathouse.
The funeral service will be 1 p.m. Saturday at
the Grand Central Avenue Church of Christ in
Vienna. Evangelist Joe Spivy will officiate
and burial will follow at Parkersburg Memorial
Gardens. The visitation will be from 2-4 and 6-
8 p.m. Friday at Kimes Funeral Home, 521 Fifth
St., Parkersburg, and from noon until service
time Saturday at the church.
The family prefers that memorial donations be
made to the End Stage Renal Disease (Kidney
Transplant) Association at CAMC in Charleston.
Envelopes will be available at the funeral
home, or to the Perpetual Care Fund at
Parkersburg Memorial Gardens for the
continuing upkeep of the cemetery
Edward A Haught
Parkersburg, WV
Edward A. Haught, 84, of Parkersburg, passed
away Feb. 2, 2008, at his home.
Ed was born March 18, 1923, at Hebron in
Pleasants County, the son of the late Edward
A. and Esther Smith Haught.
He was a member of the Winding Road Church of
Christ and had retired from Union Carbide
Sistersville Plant with 28 years of service.
Ed was also a U.S. Army veteran of World War
II, having served in the South Pacific.
He is survived by his wife, Mazie J. Villers
Haught, and many Christian friends, neighbors
and co-workers. In addition to his parents, he
was preceded in death by one son, Roger L.
Haught.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Tuesday at
Kimes Funeral Home, Parkersburg, with
Evangelist Keith Malone officiating. Burial will follow at the North View Cemetery, New
Martinsville. Visitation will be from 2-4 and
6-8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
Blondena Hartshorn Sutton
Parkersburg, WV
Blondena Hartshorn Sutton, 86, of Parkersburg
passed away Jan. 14, 2008, at her home.
She was born April 5, 1921, at Belleville, a
daughter of the late Jacob Mentor and Sarah
Straight Hartshorn. Blondena was of the
Methodist faith and was a member of the Order
of Eastern Star Chapter 14, Bethany White
Shrine, Ladies Oriental Shrine, Shrine Patrol,
the Clown Club and the Hillbillies Club.
Surviving is her daughter, Phyllis Hargreaves
and her husband, Tim, of Belpre; a grandson,
Mark Daggett and his wife, MaryAnne, of New
Milton, W.Va.; two great-grandchildren, Ian
Hissam of Zanesville and Captain Jacob Hina
stationed in Iraq; a great-great-
granddaughter, Audrianna Hissam; and several
nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded
in death by her husband, Harrison Sutton; and
two brothers, Glenn and Gail Hartshorn.
The funeral service will be 3 p.m. Friday at
Kimes Funeral Home, 521 Fifth St.,
Parkersburg, with Mr. Sterling Ball
officiating. Private burial will follow at
Evergreen South Cemetery. The visitation will
be from 4-7 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.

Isaac Ray "Bunt" Blair
Wadesville, WV
Isaac Ray “Bunt” Blair, 89, passed away at his
Wadesville residence on Jan. 9, 2008.
He was born in Wood County, on Oct. 1, 1918,
the last child of the late Isaac Ray and
Elizabeth Blair.
Bunt is survived by his wife of 66 years, Opal
June Blair; a son, Leo Blair and his wife,
Jane, of Morehead, Ky.; two daughters, Judy
Guinn and her husband, Paul, of Cleveland,
Ohio, and Robin Anthony and her husband, Mike,
of Wadesville; grandchildren, Eric (Deannie)
Blair, Jason (Tricia) Blair of Georgetown,
Ky., Nathan Anthony (a senior at West Virginia
University) and Craig Anthony (stationed with
the U.S. Army at Fort Jackson, S.C.); and
great-grandchildren, including twins, Jacob
Isaac and Jalynn Delaney Blair of Georgetown,
Ky., Erica Brooke and Lauren Taylor.
He was preceded in death by four brothers and
a sister.
Bunt was an employee of the Wood County Board
of Education for 34 years. The first 12 years
of service, Bunt drove school bus and was very
proud that in later years, he could remember
the names of his passengers when he
encountered them in Parkersburg. The remaining
years of his service were spent with the
maintenance department. Bunt retired from full-
time employment in December 1980. He continued
to work part-time for the Board of Education
and was particularly proud that he was
instrumental in teaching young employees of
the maintenance department about the heating
and cooling systems. His long retirement
included time spent chauffeuring and mentoring
his grandchildren, enjoying his pet cattle,
his beloved Belgian horse, Stainer, and a
Belgian Shepherd dog, Lako, a retirement gift
given to him by his children, and later
Bluebird, an Australian sheep dog.
Bunt was a member of the Wadesville Church of
Christ, belonged to the Woodmen of the World
Organization and a lifetime member of the West
Virginia Farm Bureau.
To those that knew him, Bunt will be
remembered for his wit, keen sense of humor,
encyclopedic memory, common sense, insight,
family values and his ever sharing love. He
took pride in voting at every election since
he was eligible to vote and knew all the names
of the presidents elected during his lifetime
and had received his graduate equivalent
degree.
The funeral service will be 2 p.m. Sunday at
Kimes Funeral Home, 521 Fifth St.,
Parkersburg, with Evangelist Andy Robison
officiating. Burial will follow at Sunset
Memory Gardens. The visitation will be from 2-
4 and 6-8 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
