Sharon L. Cremeans, 56, of Dutch Ridge Road,
Parkersburg, passed away May 6, 2008, at St.
Joseph’s Hospital.
She was born May 28, 1951, in Parkersburg, a
daughter of the late Alva Harold Sims and
Christina Ruth Vincent Sims.
Sharon had last been employed with City Perk
Cafe, was a 1969 graduate of Parkersburg High
School and had attended the First Baptist
Church of Middleton, Tenn.
Surviving are three daughters, Rhonda Casto
Modesitt (Mark) of Parkersburg, Amanda
Kennamore (Jeff) of Middleton, Tenn., and
Kennda Gorsky (Judd) of Mineral Wells; seven
grandchildren, C.J. Kennamore, Joshua
Kennamore, Kristina Dalton, Chelsey Dalton,
Alana Kennamore, Katie Kennamore and Judson
Gorsky; a stepbrother, Bill Sims, and a half-
sister, Sherry Sims, both of the Akron area;
her aunt and uncle, Walter and Emma Vincent of
Parkersburg; and her best friend, Judy Betts
of Parkersburg.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded
in death by a son, Michael Chad Cremeans.
There will be a memorial service at 11 a.m.
Saturday at Kimes Funeral Home, 521 Fifth St.,
Parkersburg. There will be a time of gathering
of friends and relatives beginning at 9 a.m.
Saturday at the funeral home. Cremations
services are being provided by Kimes Funeral
Home and Cremation Services.
Wanda Louise Braham Richards, 80, of Lubeck
and a long-time resident of Florida, passed
away Saturday, May 24, 2008, at home.
She was born Sept. 3, 1927, in Parkersburg, a
daughter of the late Walter R. and Lena L.
Hull Braham. Wanda was a member of the Lubeck
Church of Christ and worked as an office
manager with several different businesses in
Florida. She was a member of the Veterans
Ladies Auxiliary in Florida.
She is survived by her son, Timothy E.
Richards of Nashville, Tenn.; brother, Emmer
Braham and his wife, Jenoise, with whom she
resided in Lubeck; grandchildren, Nathan and
Dustin Richards; nieces and nephews, Lois Ann
Ripley and D.J. Morris and her husband, Rob,
Phillip Braham, Karl Braham and Angela Braham;
great nieces and nephews, Ryan and Kayla
Morris and Sarah and Suzzane Ripley; and
sister-in-law, Shirley Braham of Joliet, Ill.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded
in death by her husband, Floyd H. Richards;
and two brothers, Blaine Braham and Walter Ray
Braham.
Funeral services will be 2:30 p.m. Wednesday
at Kimes Funeral Home, Parkersburg, with
Evangelists David Newberry and Steve Fuchs
officiating. Burial will follow in the Foley
Section of Evergreen South Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. today
at the funeral home.
Ethel Louise Young, 83, of Bunker Road,
Walker, formerly of Williamstown, went to
sleep peacefully Aug. 26, 2008, to wake up in
the arms of her Lord. She had been a patient
at the Marietta Center.
She was born April 9, 1925, at the home place
in Williamstown, daughter of the late Henry
and Eva McElfresh Fischer. Ethel attended
Williamstown Schools and the First Baptist
Church of Williamstown. She was a member of
the Old Lightner Memorial Church, where
sometimes she would sing. She had worked at
the American Bisque Co., where she met her
late husband of 56 years, Eugene Young. Later,
she had two daughters and went to work at
Williamstown Grade School as a cook until she
retired in 1989.
Surviving are two daughters, Judy L. Young of
Walker and Connie L. Snyder and husband, Dave,
of Stockport, Ohio; two grandsons, Jamie A.
Snyder and wife, Michele, and Jonathan D.
Snyder and wife, Rhonda; two great-
grandchildren, Rebekah A. Snyder and Nathanael
D. Snyder; and also a grandson adopted by
love, Toby J. Miller.
In addition to her parents and husband, she
was preceded in death by a brother, Henry
Donald Fischer Jr.; and an infant brother.
The funeral service will be 11 a.m. Friday at
Kimes Funeral Home, 521 Fifth St.,
Parkersburg, with Pastor Tim Henson
officiating. Burial will follow at the
Skidmore Cemetery on Route 50 east of
Parkersburg. The visitation will be from 2-8
p.m. today at the funeral home.
Helen V Wilcoxen
Parkersburg, WV
Helen V. Wilcoxen, 74, of Parkersburg,
departed this life on Aug. 23, 2008, at Camden-
Clark Memorial Hospital.
She was born Dec. 24, 1933, in Sutton, W.Va.,
a daughter of the late Arlen and Ruth (Nutt)
Smyth. She was a graduate of Sutton High
School and attended Mountain State College,
was Baptist by faith and a former Girl Scout
leader. She was an excellent seamstress and
was employed by Betty Brite Cleaners for
several years.
Surviving is her husband of 56 years, James
Wilcoxen; three daughters and sons-in-law,
Tina and Randy Brannon of Washington, W.Va.,
Tia and Roger Brown of Parkersburg and Trina
and Jeff Crawford of Dacula, Ga.; five
grandchildren, Christie (Jeremy) Willis, Eric
(Cathey) Brown, Melody Brown and fiance, Mark
McLean, Kaitlyn Crawford and Lyndsey Crawford;
a brother, Jack Smyth (Ilene) of Bethesda,
Md.; sister-in-law, Ginny Smyth of Pensacola,
Fla.; aunts, Athlea Coulter of Weston, W.Va.,
and Ruby Ashley of Sutton, W.Va.; and several
nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded
in death by brothers, Arlen Joe, James Don and
William Steven Smyth.
A memorial service will be at a later date at
the convenience of the family. Kimes Funeral
Home & Cremation Services, Parkersburg, is
assisting the family with arrangements.
Memorial donations may be made in her memory
to the Parkersburg Humane Society or to the
Parsonage Improvement Fund at Trinity United
Methodist Church.
Anne L Belt
Vienna, WV
Anne L. Belt, 55, of Vienna passed away Monday, Aug. 18, 2008, at her home.
She was born Sept. 1, 1952, in Wirt County, a
daughter of the late Howard and Ruby Thompson
Hamrick. Anne was a graduate of Wirt County
High School, member of Kingdom Hall Jehovah's
Witness and was a homemaker.
Surviving is her husband, Ronald E. Belt of
Vienna; her son, Matthew B. Belt and his wife,
Sheena, of Marietta; four grandchildren,
Isaac, Cameron, Kyle and James Belt; one
brother, Ronald McDaniel of Parkersburg; three
sisters, Ruth Andrews of Roanoke, Va., Alice
Goldberg of Clearwater, Fla., and Betty Boice
of Mineral Wells; and several nieces and
nephews.
She was preceded in death by a sister, Mary
Woodyard.
There will be a visitation with viewing from 6-
8 p.m. today at Kimes Funeral Home, 521 Fifth
Street, Parkersburg. There will be no funeral
service.
Cremation services will be provided by Kimes
Funeral Home & Cremation Services.
