Mary Juretta Eddy Mace
Wiliamstown, WV
Mary Juretta Eddy Mace, 94, of Waverly Road,
Williamstown, formerly of 10th Avenue in south
Parkersburg, passed away July 16, 2008, at
Heartland of Marietta, where she had been a
resident for the past year-and-a-half.
Mary was born May 18, 1914, at Greensboro,
Pa., a daughter of the late Dr. Alexander L.
and Emma Makinson Eddy. She was a member of
the Broadway Baptist Church, where she had
served as organist for over 60 years.
Mary was a 1936 graduate of Mountain State
College and had worked as a secretary for the
Monongahela Power Co., Fairplains School and
Rayon School and had also worked at B&M
Ceramics. She was a member of the American
Guild of Organists and was a past member and
past president of the South Parkersburg
Woman's Club.
Surviving is her son, Robert L. Mace II of
Beijing, China; former daughter-in-law,
Margaret Mace of Baltimore, Md.; her daughter,
Virginia Louise Law and her husband, Richard,
of Williamstown; seven grandsons, Greg Mace of
Westminster, Md., Robert Lee Mace III and
family of Glen Burnie, Md., William Mace and
family of Hanover, Pa., Jeffrey Mace and
family of Abita Springs, La., Brentyn Mace of
Baltimore, Md., Richard Brooks Law II and
family of Mineral Wells and Thomas Law of
Winchester, Va.; seven great-grandchildren;
one sister, Ms. Johanna Althea Eddy of
Parkersburg; two nieces, Laraine Metheny of
Elkins, W.Va., and Ellie Crowley of Little
Hocking, Ohio; and three nephews, Dan Crowley
of Odon, Ind., Bill Crowley of La Plata, Md.,
and John Eddy of Monroeville, Pa.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded
in death by her husband, the late Robert Lee
Mace whom she married Sept. 21, 1941; four
brothers, Clarence, Herschel, Raymond and
Sherwood Eddy; and a sister, Benitha (Mrs.
Thomas) Crowley.
The funeral service will be 1 p.m. Saturday at
Kimes Funeral Home, 521 Fifth St.,
Parkersburg, with Pastor Scott Morehead
officiating. Burial will follow at Mt. Olivet
Cemetery. The visitation will be from 5-8 p.m.
today and from noon until service time
Saturday at the funeral home.

Edna Eileen Barnett
Waverly, WV
Edna Eileen Barnett, 87, of Waverly passed
away July 9, 2008, at Camden-Clark Memorial
Hospital.
She was born June 8, 1921, at Waverly, a
daughter of Mary Kate Jackson.
Edna was a member of the Waverly Church of
Christ. She had been employed at the
Parkersburg Holiday Inn's Housekeeping
Department and enjoyed raising a garden.
Surviving is her son, Ira Barnett and his
wife, Melina, of Waverly; five grandchildren;
six great-grandchildren; a sister, Isa Peters
of Waverly, now residing at a care home in
Marietta.
In addition to her mother, she was preceded in
death by her husband, John Thomas Barnett; her
daughter, Betty Metz; and four brothers,
Lester, Franklin, Andrew and John Jackson.
The funeral service will be 2 p.m. Sunday at
Kimes Funeral Home, 521 Fifth Street,
Parkersburg, with Evangelist Bob Long
officiating. Burial will follow at Evergreen
North Cemetery. The visitation will be from 6-
8 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
John Wesley Kiger JR
Waverly, WV
John Wesley Kiger Jr., 50, of Waverly,
departed his earthly life on July 7, 2008, at
his home in Waverly.
He was born in Parkersburg, a son of Audra
Pearl Parsons Kiger of Vienna and the late
John Wesley Kiger Sr.
John was of the Christian faith and was
employed with Eramet as an auto diesel
mechanic and member of the Labor Union 1-00639-
01 of the United Steel, Paper & Forestry,
Rubber, Manufacturing, Energy, Allied
Industrial and Service Workers International.
He enjoyed the outdoors, spending time with
his children and family who considered him as
their hero. He also enjoyed spending time at
the family farm at Rockport, where he enjoyed
camping, fishing and four-wheeling with his
son and nephew.
In addition to his mother, he is survived by
his wife, Barbara Lee Henderson Kiger; one
son, Joseph Franklin Kiger at home; one
daughter, Whitney Renae Kiger at home; two
stepdaughters, Crystal Dawn Moore of Waverly
and Callie Louise Waldron of Marion, Ind.; one
granddaughter, Samantha Jayne Moore; two
sisters, Dr. Anna J. Kiger and her husband,
Earl Benzenhafer, of Dallas, Texas, and Linda
K. Kiger of Vienna; two sisters-in-law, Denny
M. Kiger of North Hills and Jan Kiger of
Vienna; brother-in-law, Mike Nixon of
Morgantown; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his father, he was preceded in
death by his brother, Parkersburg Attorney
William E. "Bill" Kiger; his paternal
grandparents, William R. and Lucy Geraldine
Kiger of Parkersburg; and his maternal
grandparents, Ernie and Etta Parsons of Gay,
W.Va.
The funeral service will be 11 a.m. Friday at
Kimes Funeral Home, 521 Fifth Street,
Parkersburg, with his cousin, Michael R.
Kiger, officiating. Burial will follow at
Parkersburg Memorial Gardens. The visitation
will be from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Thursday at the
funeral home.

Marlene Sue Snyder
Parkersburg, WV
Marlene Sue Snyder, 70, of Parkersburg passed
away July 5, 2008, at Camden-Clark Memorial
Hospital.
She was born March 13, 1938, in Kanawha
County, a daughter of the late William J. and
Lela McKeny. Marlene was a long time member of
Trinity United Methodist Church where she had
been a member of the adult choir and had also
taught Sunday School Class. She had worked as
a nurse's aide at Camden-Clark's Central
Supply Department and she was a local Avon
representative for many years.
Surviving is her husband, Kenneth L. Snyder;
daughter, Angela Snyder Hickel and her husband
Virgil of Parkersburg; her mother-in-law, Eula
Snyder of Parkersburg; a niece, Chantiel
McCormack; nephew, Trip McKeny; and five great-
nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded
in death by a brother, Eddy McKeny.
The funeral service will be 11 a.m. Tuesday at
Trinity United Methodist Church, 10th Avenue
and Thomas Street, Parkersburg, where the
Revs. James Burdette, Chuck Furbee and Dave
Stilgenbauer will officiate. Burial will
follow at Sunset Memory Gardens. The
visitation will be from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. today
at Kimes Funeral Home, 521 Fifth St.,
Parkersburg.
