Inez Billups Keefer
Mrs. Inez Billups Keefer, 88, of Westchester Manor of High Point, N.C. and formerly of Culloden, went home to be with her Lord, Dec. 26, 2005, at High Point Regional Hospital. Funeral services were conducted Friday, Dec. 30, 2005, at Heck Funeral Home, Milton, with the Rev. Art Hage officiating. Burial in Milton Cemetery. Mrs. Keefer was born May 22, 1917, in Putnam County, W.Va., a daughter of the late Wilbur and Ada Bell Billups. She was a homemaker. She was a very active member of Hurricane Bible Church in Hurricane and attended First Wesleyan Church when she moved to High Point. In addition to her parents, and stepmother Margaret Billups, she was also preceded in death by her husband of 60 years, Leroy Keefer; infant “twin” son, Dwight Keefer; sister, Belva Cooper; two brothers, Harley Billups and Milford Billups. She is survived by one son, Gary Keefer of Dover, Tenn.; two daughters Marsha Black of Culloden and, Sharon Wood and her husband Jay, of High Point; brother, Wilbur Edward Billups Jr. and his wife Carol of Houston, Texas ; three grandsons, Gary Dwight Keefer of Goldsboro, N.C., Gregory Dean Keefer of Michigan, and Jason Andrew Horton of Greensboro, N.C.; great-granddaughter, Aereal Keefer of Michigan; two great-grandsons, Aaron Dwight Keefer and Chad Andrew Keefer of Goldsboro, N.C.
The family wishes to thank the staff of Westchester Manor Skilled Nursing Center, her two special angels, Abraham and Administrator Felton Wooten, and the visitation Pastors of First Wesleyan Church for the special care shown to Mrs. Keefer. Also, the family wishes to thank Pastor Art Hage and family of Hurricane Bible Church for the love and devotion shown over the years as well as the many visits to High Point, calls and letters.

Richard Lee McClellan
Richard Lee McClellan, 74, of Barboursville, beloved husband of 50 and a half years to Patricia Sue McClellan, died at his residence on Dec. 28, 2005, with family. Funeral services were conducted Friday, Dec. 30, 2005 at the Wallace Funeral Home & Chapel, Barboursville, with the Rev. Toney Smith officiating. Burial in Woodmere Memorial Park, Huntington. He was born Dec. 1, 1931, in Cabell County, a son of the late Cloid and Sadie McClellan. He was a member of VFW Post 9738, a veteran serving in the United States Army, the Korean Conflict. He retired from Connors Steel Mill. He was preceded in death by three brothers, Ray McClellan, Raymond McClellan, and Charles McClellan. Survivors include two daughters and sons-in-law, Tammy and George Green of Huntington, and Sandy, and Cliff Jeffers of Myrtle Beach, S.C.; three sisters, Mrs. Paul Hardesty (Orpha); Mrs. Chester Nutter (Alma), and Dorthy Allen; four grandchildren, Christopher Green of Los Angeles; Matthew Jeffers, Marybeth Adkins, and Tara Davis; four great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. A special thank you to Gentiva Health, Hospice, and Dr. Dawn McFarland and staff.

Carl L. Campbell
Carl L. Campbell of Barboursville, husband of Fern McCormick Campbell, died Thursday, Feb. 16, 2006, in St. Mary’s Medical Center. He was a shoe cutter for Perry Norvell Shoe Co. In addition to his wife, he is survived by son, Larry A. Campbell of Maryland; daughter, Joyce Lytton of Charleston, W.Va., stepson, French McCormick of Huntington; stepdaughter, Phyllis Tolle of Otway, Ohio, and sister, Eva Turner of Huntington. Funeral services were conducted Monday, February 20, 2006 at Henson Mortuary; burial in White Chapel Memorial Gardens.

Robert Wesley Geer
Robert Wesley Geer, 27, of Barboursville, passed away Wednesday, Feb. 15, 2006. Funeral services were conducted Monday, Feb. 20, 2006, at the Wallace Funeral Home & Chapel, Barboursville, by the Rev. Johnny Harris. Burial in White Chapel Memorial Garden’s. He was born Oct. 6, 1978, in Huntington, a son of Wesley and Lynell Bailey Geer of Barboursville. He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Odie and Fay Geer. Also surviving are his wife, Deanna Kolb Geer; two sons, Bradley and Brenton Geer; stepdaughter, Carley Flora; maternal grandparents, Robert and Thelma Rutherford Bailey of Barboursville; one aunt, Dana Skaggs of Barboursville; great-aunt and uncle, May and Newton Crockett; great uncle, Larry Rutherford and family; great uncle, Lindsey “Bubby” Rutherford; special cousin Mart D. Lane; cousins, Jason and Amy Milton and family, Jeremy and Jessica Skaggs, and Tonya and Donnie Jones and family.

Paul M. Marcum
Paul M. Marcum, 63, of Culloden, passed away Feb. 17, 2006, at his residence. Funeral services were conducted Tuesday, February 21, 2006 at the Wallace Funeral Home, Milton, by the Rev. Junior Stewart and Pastor Darrell Wooten. Burial in Forest Memorial Park, Milton. He was born March 4, 1942, in Wayne County, a son of the late Sollie and Virgie Lowe Marcum. He was preceded in death by one daughter, Roshell Fadlevich. He is survived by his wife, Linda Salmons Marcum; three daughters, Jacqueline Mahan of Columbus, Ohio, Virgie Edgell of Lake Wales, Fla., and Melissa Harmon of Culloden; one son, Paul Marcum Jr. of Culloden; two sisters, Pauline Sperry of South Webster, Ohio, and Rosetta Chapman of Cincinnati, Ohio; one brother, Frank Marcum of Dunlow, W.Va.; 14 grandchildren and one great-grandchild. Wallace Funeral Home, Milton, was in charge of arrangements.

Benjamin Norman Farley
Benjamin Norman Farley, 79, of Barboursville, went home to be with the Lord, Thursday, February 16, 2006, from his residence. Funeral services were conducted Sunday, February 19, 2006, at the Gethsemane United Baptist Church, where he was a member and served as a trustee. Rev. Robert Burns and Rev. Steve Nida officiated. Burial in the Luther Adkins Cemetery, Beech Fork, W.Va. Ben was born June 15, 1926, in Logan, W.Va., a son of the late George W. Farley and Pearley Booth Farley. He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Estelle Bills Farley; a daughter, Sharon Kay Lucas; two granddaughters, Malisa K. Adkins and infant Miranda Lucas; four brothers, Bobby Farley, Kyle Farley, Cleve Farley, and Troy Farley; and three sisters, Lillian “Bug” Kinser, Mary Farley and Marie Farley. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy serving in World War II. Survivors include one son and daughter-in-law, Gary and Diana Parley of Chandler, Ariz.; one daughter and son-in-law, Sandra and John Gilkerson of Barboursville; three brothers, Charlie Farley of Harts, W.Va., George Farley Jr. of Harts, W.Va., and William Farley of Detroit, Mich.; one sister, Janice Farley of Adrian, Mich.; four grandchildren, Gary Farley Jr. of Dunbar, W.Va., Valerie Weaver of Petal, Miss., James “Jim” Gilkerson and his wife, Jeanna of Bickmore, W.Va., and SRA Jeremy Gilkerson of Mountain Home AFB, Idaho; two great-grandchildren, Kiersten Farley and Elijah Gilkerson; and a very special friend, Glen “Slatts” Robertson of Barboursville, along with a host of other relatives and friends. Ben will be sadly missed by his community as well as many relatives and friends.

Winnie Nelson
Winnie Nelson, 81, was born Sept. 23, 1924, and raised in Salt Rock, W.Va. She married and lived in Barboursville. After a long illness she passed away Feb. 14, 2006, in Yulee, Fla. She was preceded in death by her husband Howard L. Nelson, her brother John Frye and sister Mary Frye of Salt Rock. Survived by her son Howard Lee Nelson, Jr. and daughter Tamara Joy Nelson Thompson. Also surviving are her brothers and sisters-in-law, Homer Burl Frye, Sherman and Winnie Frye, and Robert and Kathleen Frye of Salt Rock. She was also survived by three grandchildren, granddaughters Rochelle Lee Nelson, Jessica Lee Nelson of Merritt Island, Fla. and grandson Jonathan Lee Nelson of Portland, Ore. God bless her soul and may she rest in peace. Funeral services were conducted Tuesday, Feb. 21, 2006, at the Wallace Funeral Home & Chapel, Barboursville. by the Rev. James Jobe and the Rev. Richard Black. Burial in Frye Cemetery, Salt Rock.

Harry A. Willis
Harry A. Willis, 60, of Culloden, husband of Betty Willis, died Wednesday, February 15, 2006 in Kanawha County. He was owner and operator of W/W Towing Inc., of Charleston. Funeral services were conducted Sunday, February 19, 2006 at Valley View Memorial Park Mausoleum Chapel, Hurricane, burial followed. Chapman Funeral Home, Hurricane, was in charge of arrangements. Memorials may be made to First Baptist Church of St. Albans, Weekday Preschool, 523 2nd St., St. Albans WV 25177.

Ruth Mary Keener Cremeans
Ruth Mary Keener Cremeans, 83, of Barboursville, passed away February 16, 2006. Graveside services were conducted at 11 a.m. Friday, February 17, 2006, at White Chapel Memorial Gardens. She was born April 21, 1923, in Huntington, a daughter of the late Isadore Harvey and Beatrice Marie Drane Weible. She was preceded in death by her husbands, Ernie Lee Keener and Thomas Cremeans. She was also preceded in death by her sisters, Thelma Marie Deitch, Louise Copely, Beatrice Marie Hineman and Harriett Leona Weible; brothers John Edward, James, Charles Harry, Leo and Isadore J. Weible. She is survived by her son, Robert Keener of Huntington; two grandchildren, Michael Lee Keener and J.R. Keener; one great-grandson, Tanner Justice Keener; one sister, Emma Josephine Newman; and several nieces and nephews and cousins including a special cousin, Catherine Keener Baughman. She was of a member of Farmdale Church of Christ. Wallace Funeral Home, Barboursville, was in charge of arrangements.

Harold Bruce Jones
Harold Bruce Jones, 54, of Franklin Furnace, Ohio, died February 10, 2006. Born in Cairo, Ill., he was a retired heavy equipment operator. Son of Helen Jones and the late Charles E. Jones Sr. Also preceded in death by sister, Teddy Beadles. Survived by Jane, the love of his life, whom he married in 1989; daughter, Amy Saunders; grandsons Justin and Zach Saunders; sister, Sharon Boyer; brothers and best friends Charles E. Jones II, Richard C Jones, and David L. Jones; and special nephew, Travis Jones. Memorial services were conducted at 3 p.m. on Sunday February 19, 2006 at Wallace Funeral Home and Chapel, Barboursville.

Charles Labe “Chock” Brown
Charles Labe "Chock” Brown, 57, of Barboursville, passed away Tuesday, February 14, 2006. Funeral services were conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday, February 18, 2006, at the Wallace Funeral Home and Chapel by the Rev. David Cardwell and the Rev. James Jobe. Burial in Brown Cemetery. He was born March 13,1948, in Huntington, W.Va., a son of the late Labe and Betty Edwards Brown. He was also preceded in death by a brother, Joseph Brown. He was an employee of Barboursville Block Company and a veteran of the Vietnam War serving in the U.S. Army.
He is survived by one daughter and son-in-law, Sarah and Wes Henderson of Florida; one son, Joe Brown of Salt Rock; three grandchildren, Jacob, Dakota and Destiny Henderson; four brothers, Jim Brown, John Brown, Carroll Perry and Alan Brown, all of Barboursville; and several nieces and nephews. Wallace Funeral Home, Barboursville, was in charge of arrangements.

Laurance Maxwell Breedlove
Laurance Maxwell Breedlove, 78, of Culloden went home to be with his Lord, Tuesday, February 14, 2006, at his residence. Funeral services were conducted 2 p.m. Friday, February 17, 2006, at Heck Funeral Home, Milton, with Pastor Bill Davis officiating. Burial and military graveside rights followed in White Chapel Memorial Gardens, Barboursville. Max was born October 7, 1927, in Lincoln County, West Virginia, a son of the late Lavie Mont and Bertie Angus Breedlove. He is also preceded in death by one brother, Carl Breedlove. Max served his country in the United States Navy. At the end of World War II, he was on the USS Haven testing the atomic bomb on Bikini Atoll. Max is survived by his loving wife of 57 years, Rose Smith Breedlove; three daughters, Patty Breedlove, Bonita Mills and Diane Pierson; two grandchildren, Nathan Smith and Erica Pierson Jude; four sisters, Maurine McKimmy, Joann Stephens, Ginny Rowsey and Sybil Edwards; one brother, Jerry Breedlove. Charles Labe Brown, 57, of Barboursville died Tuesday. Funeral service were held 11 a.m. Saturday at Wallace Funeral Home and Chapel, Barboursville; burial in Brown Cemetery.

Ralph Howard Garlick, Sr.
Ralph Howard Garlick, Sr., 69, of Huntington, beloved husband and friend of Dolly J. Garlick, went to be with his Lord Tuesday, February 14, 2006, in St. Mary’s Medical Center. Funeral services were conducted at 3 p.m. Friday, February 17, 2006, at the Wallace Funeral Home and Chapel, Barboursville, by the Rev. Greg Creasey. Burial in White Chapel Memorial Gardens, Barboursville. He was preceded in death by his mother, father and daughter, Debbie. He was born October 29, 1936, in Cumberland, Maryland, a son of the late Margaret Fisher. He is survived by his loving wife, Dolly; four sons and daughters-in-law, Ralph Jr. and Deborah Garlick of Florida, Kenny and Peggy Williams, James Williams, Wesley and Cathy Williams, all of Huntington; four daughters and two sons-in-law, Sherry Tassen, Carol Walls, Tammy and Doug Hager, all of Huntington, Ann and Jay Cremeans of Florida; nine grandchildren, Carla and Michael Martin, Kenny Jr. Williams, Jaymi Williams, Jeremy Walls, Stephanie Salyers, Joshua Williams, Trisha Williams, all of Huntington, Michelle and Shawn Cremeans of Florida; 10 great-grandchildren; a special niece, Debby Genito, loving friends Charolette and Helen Adkins, Danise Niday, Doris James. Wallace Funeral Home and Chapel, Barboursville, was in charge of arrangements.

Mary K. Clark
Mary K. Clark, 80, of Barboursville died Saturday, Feb. 11, 2006 in St. Mary’s Medical Center. Funeral services were held at Henson Mortuary. Burial in Maupin Cemetery, Ona. She is survived by sisters Linnie Cremeans, Mabel Edmonds Mosurick, both of Barboursville, and Fern Cherivassi of Winter Park, Fla.
