Denice Renee Sheppard, 26, of Parkersburg,
passed away Feb. 25, 2009, at the University
of Cincinnati Hospital following an extended
illness.
She was born in Parkersburg, July 4, 1982, the
daughter of Carolyn Gandee of Parkersburg and
the late Dennis Raymond Moore. She was a
member of the Davisville Community Chapel and
she enjoyed drawing and scrapbooking.
In addition to her mother, she is survived by
her stepfather, Larry Joseph Knight of
Parkersburg; one brother, Michael Ray Moore
(Amber) of Parkersburg; two sisters, Cheryl
Bazzell (Josh) of Parkersburg and Teresa
Gandee at home; two nieces; and five nephews.
The funeral service will be 1 p.m. Monday at
Kimes Funeral Home, 521 Fifth St.,
Parkersburg, with Pastor Ray Seebaugh and
Brothers Mike Dykes and Dannie Cunningham
speaking. Burial will follow at Evergreen
North Cemetery. The visitation will be from 4-
8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
Paul Gable Sandy, 74, of Parkersburg passed
away April 26, 2009, at Camden-Clark Memorial
Hospital.
He was born June 26, 1934, in Wood County, a
son of the late Neil Eugene and Nellie Joyce
Brown Sandy.
Paul retired from DuPont with many years of
service and had served in the United States
Navy.
He is survived by his daughter, Payge Renee
Clark; and his grandson, Justin Paul Wayne
Yocum, both of Sierra Vista, Ariz. He is also
survived by nieces, a nephew and cousins.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in
death by his wife, Patricia Ann Rader Sandy on
Feb. 10, 2007; and a brother, Merlin Sandy.
It was Paul's request to be cremated and that
there be no service or visitation.
Cards may be sent to the family residence.

William Thomas Knight
Parkersburg, WV
William Thomas Knight, 54, of Parkersburg died as a result of drowning during a boating
accident on the Ohio River on Saturday, April
25, 2009.
He was born Oct. 18, 1954, at Weston, W.Va., a
son of the late Darrell Knight and Betty Lou
Knight. He had formerly been employed with the
Greenbrier Apts. as maintenance man and had
served in the U.S. Army.
He is survived by his fiancee, Linda
Carpenter; one daughter, Amanda Knight and her
fiance, Dustin McDougal, and one son, William
Thomas Knight II, all of Weston; three
stepchildren; 18 grandchildren; two sisters,
Geneva Knight of Weston and Johnie Marie
McKinney of Dover, Del.; a nephew, Alexander
Capel of Webster Springs; and a niece,
Christina McKinney of Dover.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Charles
Glen McHenry.
The funeral service will be 11 a.m. Wednesday
at Kimes Funeral Home, 521 Fifth St.,
Parkersburg. Burial will follow at Evergreen
North Cemetery with military rites provided by
the American Legion Post 15 of Parkersburg.
The visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. Tuesday
at the funeral home.
Lucille Corlene Carmichael
Belpre, OH
Lucille Corlene Carmichael, 88, of Belpre
passed away Friday, April 24, 2009, at
Marietta Memorial Hospital.
She was born May 29, 1920, at Lamberton,
W.Va., the daughter of the late James Emory
Moore and Elva Mable Tate Moore Welling.
Lucille was of the Protestant faith and was
retired from Kaufman Lattimer Wholesale Drug
Co. She was a former employee of the West
Virginia Employment Services and was a former
member of the DAV Ladies Auxiliary Post 6 and
the AMVETS Ladies Auxiliary Post 34.
Surviving is a nephew, John (Cecelia) Wigal of
Chattanooga, Tenn.; a niece, Joy (Jonathan)
Wigal-French of Zanesville, Ohio; two great-
nieces, Janelle Wigal and Karis French; a
great-nephew, Joel French; one stepsister,
Edna (Roy) Wigal of Lebanon, Ohio; two
stepsons, William K. Carmichael of Vero Beach,
Fla., and Clyde Maynard Carmichael of
Appomattox, Va.; several stepgrandchildren;
and her special friends and caregivers, Dwayne
and Jennifer Daggett of Belpre.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded
in death by her husband, Clarence Carmichael
in January 1997; a stepdaughter, Ruth Jean
Gainer; and a brother, Bernard L. Moore.
The funeral service will be 3:30 p.m. Monday
at Kimes Funeral Home, 521 Fifth St.,
Parkersburg, with the Rev. Roy Wigal
officiating. Burial will follow at Evergreen
North Cemetery. The visitation will be from
1:30-3:30 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
Myrtle Bernadine Milburn
Vienna, WV
Myrtle Bernadine Milburn, 90, of Pleasant View
Towers, Vienna, passed away April 23, 2009, at
St. Joseph's Hospital.
She was born Dec. 30, 1918, at Waverly, a
daughter of the late Wade B. and Zena E.
Wilkinson Lowther.
Myrtle was a member of the Faith Baptist
Church in Vienna, where she had sung in the
choir. She was a member of the Pleasant View
Towers Association and had worked as a
caregiver to the elderly and also had worked
in childcare. She enjoyed working word search
puzzles.
Surviving are two sons, Kenneth Milburn (Rosa)
of Leesburg, Fla., and Robert Milburn of
Waverly; five daughters, Sharon Watkins of
Parkersburg, Donna Wilson (Roger) of Big Bend,
W.Va., Betty Leonard (Roger) of Reedsville,
Ohio, Barbara Lucas (Mike) of Parkersburg and
Karen Cunningham (Gary) of Elizabeth; a
stepson, Virgil Milburn of Martinsburg; a
stepdaughter, Teresa Fisher of Freeport, Ill.;
grandchildren, Mindy, Lisa, Melanie, Vernon,
Judith, Jessy, Jenny, Justin, Roger II,
Johnny, Michael II, Tonya, Robbie and Glendon;
several stepgrandchildren; 11 great-
grandchildren; several stepgreat-
grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded
in death by her husband, Harold V. Milburn; a
daughter, Carol Milburn; a stepson, Howard
Milburn; two brothers, Denzil and Lloyd
Lowther; and two sisters, Wilma Yoho and Opal
Shahan.
The funeral service will be 1:30 p.m. Monday
at Kimes Funeral Home, 521 Fifth St.,
Parkersburg, with Pastor Jim Yoak officiating.
Burial will follow at the Pleasant Grove
Cemetery on Bull Run Road near Waverly. The
visitation will be from 5-9 p.m. Sunday and
one hour prior to the service Monday at the
funeral home.
