Robert L "Bob" Armour
Parkersburg, WV

Robert L. "Bob" Armour, 66, of Parkersburg,
passed away May 12, 2009, at Camden-Clark
Memorial Hospital.

He was born Jan. 8, 1943 in Wood County, a son
of the late James Joseph and Edith Gorman
Armour. Bob was affiliated with the
Blennerhassett Nazarene Church and retired
from Walker Systems with over 39 years of
service. When he was younger, he worked for
Coca-Cola Bottling and Nestlers Market. He was
a member of the American Legion of Parkersburg
where he enjoyed going to the dinners and
spending time with his friends there and was
an avid PHS sports fan.

Surviving is his wife, Sharon L. Midcap
Armour; one daughter, Brenda L. Hickman; and
two grandchildren, David M. Hickman and Briana
L. Hickman, all of Parkersburg; his brother,
William "Billy" Armour; and two sisters, Jo
Ann Keller and Donna Thorn (Bill), all of
Parkersburg. He is also survived by an
extended family of nieces, nephews, cousins,
in laws and friends.

The funeral service will be held 2 p.m. Sunday
at Kimes Funeral Home, 521 Fifth Street,
Parkersburg. Pastors Bob Kniley and Bob Alfred
will officiate and burial will follow at Mt.
Olivet Cemetery. The visitation will be on
Saturday from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. and on Sunday
one hour prior to the service.

Memorial contributions may be made to the
funeral and burial expenses fund in honor of
Bob, c/o the funeral home.

Edwin Ernst "Ed" Meisterhans
Parkersburg, WV

Edwin Ernst "Ed" Meisterhans Jr., 90, formerly
of Lewis Avenue, Parkersburg, passed away May
11, 2009, at the Parkersburg Care &
Rehabilitation Center, where he has been a
resident for the past few years.

He was born July 22, 1918, at Hamilton, Ohio,
the son of the late Edwin Ernest Meisterhans
Sr. and Ida Margaret Hintermeister Meisterhans.

Ed had formerly attended the First United
Methodist Church. He retired in March of 1984
with over 30 years of service as a sales
representative with the Embalmers Supply
Company in Westport, Conn. Ed had served in
the U.S. Navy during World War II having been
stationed in Sidney, Australia, and was a
graduate of the Cincinnati College of Mortuary
Science, where he later became a teaching
instructor and was a member of the Nemesis
Shrine.

He was an avid boater and fisherman, enjoyed
gardening and for many years enjoyed visiting
daily with his friends at the local Wendy's
Restaurant.

Surviving are his son, Edwin E. "Trip"
Meisterhans and his wife, Vicki, of
Washington, W.Va.; two daughters, Sharon
Perkins and her husband, Tim, in Middletown,
Ohio, and Sandy Martin and her husband, Bill,
of Parkersburg; six grandsons, John
Meisterhans and his wife, Melissa, of
Blanchester, Ohio, Adam Meisterhans of
Kearneysville, W.Va., Bob Martin of Athens,
Ohio, Eric Martin of Huntington, W.Va., Aaron
Perkins and his wife, Becky, of Monroe, Ohio,
and David Perkins of Trenton, Ohio; four great-
grandchildren, Sarah and Morgan Perkins and
Andrew and Brooklyn; one niece; and one nephew.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in
death by his wife, Inez Maxine "Mickey"
Cattell Meisterhans in 1994; and a sister,
Lillian Schul.

There will be a graveside service at 11 a.m.
Thursday in the Mt. Olivet Cemetery in
Parkersburg. The Rev. Dr. Timothy Allen will
officiate and burial will follow. There will
be visitation from 5-8 p.m. today at Kimes
Funeral Home, 521 Fifth Street, Parkersburg.

Frederick H. "Freddy" "Junior" Mayle
Vienna, WV

Frederick H. "Freddy" "Junior" Mayle, 69, of
Vienna, passed away May 10, 2009, at the
O'Bleness Memorial Hospital in Athens, Ohio.

He was born Feb. 29, 1940, in Parkersburg, the
son of the late Frederick H. Mayle Sr. and
Juanita Violet Stephens Mayle.

He retired from Tri-State Roofing with 35
years of service, served in the U.S. Army
during the Vietnam War era, had been a member
of the American Legion Post 15, was a member
of the Local Labor Union 242 and enjoyed
hunting and fishing.

Surviving is his wife, Joan Edgell Lemasters
Mayle; several stepchildren and
stepgrandchildren; several nieces and nephews,
including a special nephew, Michael K. Martin
of Vienna; and one sister, Cherie Shields
(William) of Vienna.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in
death by a sister, Judy Randolph from Belpre.

The funeral service will be 1 p.m. Thursday at
the Kimes Funeral Home, 521 Fifth Street,
Parkersburg. Pastor Wesley Vernatter will
officiate and burial will follow at
Parkersburg Memorial Gardens with military
rites conducted by the American Legion Post
15. The visitation will be from 2-4 and 6-8
p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.

Virginia Geraldine Pickens
Parkersburg, WV

Virginia Geraldine Pickens, 90, formerly of
Unity Plaza, passed away May 10, 2009, at
Worthington Manor Nursing Home.

She was born in Jackson County, a daughter of
the late Clifford and Lillie Boso Milhoan.

Virginia was a member of the Lauckport Baptist
Church and was a homemaker.

Surviving are two sons, Harold Pickens (Melva)
of Parkersburg and Ronald Pickens (Tink) of
Powhatan, Va.; and several grandchildren and
great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband,
Roscoe Pickens; a son, Clarence Pickens; a
brother, Ira Milhoan; and a sister, Merle
Shafer.

The funeral service will be 1 p.m. today at
Kimes Funeral Home, 521 Fifth St.,
Parkersburg, with Pastor Joe Ward officiating.
Burial will follow at the Ravenswood Cemetery.

Jack E. Shively, 79, of Parkersburg, went home
to be with his Lord and Savior on Monday,
Sept. 28, 2009. He passed away at Thomas
Memorial Hospital in Charleston.

He was born May 23, 1930, in Parkersburg, a
son of the late Benjamin F. Shively Sr. and
Lulu Harteben Shively.

Jack had formerly attended the Landmark
Baptist Church and he had last owned and
operated a Deli, Bakery and Candy Store in
Kenneth City, Fla. He was a U.S. Air Force
veteran, having served during the Korean War
and was a member of the VFW.

Jack was a very caring husband, father,
grandfather and friend and will be missed
dearly.

Surviving are five children, Gina, Craig,
Brent, Lisa and Tracey; 14 grandchildren; two
brothers, Marge Shively-Parker and Betty
Shively-Richmond; and several nieces and
nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in
death by 11 brothers and sisters.

The funeral service will be 2 p.m. Friday at
Kimes Funeral Home, 521 Fifth St.,
Parkersburg. Burial will follow at Mt. Olivet
Cemetery with military rites conducted by the
American Legion Post 15 of Parkersburg. The
visitation will be from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m.
Thursday at the funeral home.

Lois IleneMilhoan
Parkersburg, WV

Lois Ilene Milhoan, 81, of Parkersburg passed
away Sunday morning, Sept. 27, 2009, at Camden-
Clark Memorial Hospital.

She was born in Vienna, a daughter of the late
Richard Albert and Lulu McCullough Milhoan.

Lois was a member of the Camden Avenue Church
of Christ. She retired from Universal Glass
(Diamond Bathhurst) with 29 years of service
and was a former employee of the American
Viscose, Johns Manville and the Ideal Box
Factory.

Surviving are two brothers, Paul Milhoan of
Belmont and Bill Milhoan of Williamstown; a
sister, Ila May Nutter of Parkersburg; and
several nieces and nephews.

She is also survived by special long time
friends, Robert Gragg Sr. and his son, Bobby
Gragg Jr., Kathy Taylor, Connie Asbury, Maxine
Ayers and Jane Morris.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded
in death by a sister, Ruth Grimm; and an
infant brother.

The funeral service will be 11 a.m. Tuesday at
Kimes Funeral Home, 521 Fifth St.,
Parkersburg, with Evangelist Andy Robison
officiating. Burial will follow at Evergreen
South Cemetery. The visitation will be from 2-
4 and 6-8 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Bryan Scott "Scotty" Pittman
Parkersburg, WV

Bryan Scott "Scotty" Pittman, 40, of
Parkersburg, formerly of the Waverly area,
passed away Tuesday, Sept. 22, 2009, at the
University of Pittsburgh Medical Center-
Presbyterian Hospital.

He was born Oct. 21, 1968, in Marietta, Ohio,
a son of Frances Drennen Pittman of
Williamstown and the late Donald Gene Pittman
Sr.

Bryan had formerly attended the Red Hill
United Methodist Church and had worked as a
city/county Asphalt Inspector with the Carl
Kelly Paving Company. He was a graduate of
Parkersburg High School and music was his
greatest love.

In addition to his mother, he is survived by
his stepmother, Judith M. Pittman of Waverly;
three brothers, Donald Gene Pittman Jr. (Tina)
of Lubeck, David R. Cunningham (Stacey) of
Waverly and Timothy H. Pittman of Waverly; two
sisters, Donna M. Pittman-Knapp of Waverly and
Alicia A. Seese (Paul) of Parkersburg; 11
nieces and nephews, Candice Knapp, Ryan
Pittman, Renee Cunningham, Jacob Cunningham,
Nathaniel Pittman, Chelsea Knapp, Bree
Pittman, Braden Pittman, Marissa Seese, Lexi
McAtee and Treyton Cunningham; three great-
nieces and nephews, Owen Thompson, Rylee
Cunningham, Riley Pittman and one expected
niece; and several aunts, uncles and cousins.
He is also survived by his fiancee, Penny
Caplinger of Parkersburg and her children,
Victoria Wade and Jacob Wade.

In addition to his father, he was preceded in
death by all of his grandparents; and a great-
nephew, Eddie Thompson.

The funeral service will be 11:30 a.m. Friday
at Kimes Funeral Home, 521 Fifth St.,
Parkersburg, with the Rev. Mary Zimmer
officiating. Burial will follow at the
Riverview Cemetery in Williamstown. The
visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. today and an
hour prior to the service Friday at the
funeral home.
