Garnet Louise "Meme" Sinnett
Parkersburg, West Virginia
Garnet Louise "Meme" Sinnett, 82, of
Parkersburg died Tuesday, May 25, 2010, at her
home.
She was born July 16, 1927 in Tariff, W.Va., a
daughter of the late John L. and Glada Brannon
Boggs.
Garnet graduated from Spencer High School in
1945 and attended Mountain State College. She
retired from Kaiser Aluminum in their
insurance office where she truly loved her
work. Garnet attended St. Frances Xavier
Catholic Church. She loved to travel to
Florida. Her hobby was plastic canvas. Her
family was truly blessed to have such a
wonderful lady in their lives.
Surviving is her husband of 63 years, Edward
Sinnett; one child, Ginger Brock and her
husband, Paul of Parkersburg; three
granddaughters, Tammi Boice Blakeney (Michael)
of Monroe, N.C., Tricia Boice Medley of Broken
Arrow, Okla. and Michelle "Missy" Boice
McFalling of Columbia, S.C.; eight great-
grandchildren, Janay Brown, Joshiah Blakeney,
Courtney Schommer, Jessica Schommer, Nicholas
Schommer, Tyler Schommer, Siera McFalling and
Blayney McFalling. She is also survived by a
sister, Freda Nicholson of Elizabeth; a sister-
in-law, Madeline Chichester of Parkersburg; a
brother and sister-in-law, Dick and Della
Sinnett of Dallas, Ga., and many nieces and
nephews.
The funeral service will be held noon Saturday
at Kimes Funeral Home, 521 Fifth St.,
Parkersburg. Father David Huffman will
officiate and burial will follow at Sunset
Memory Gardens.
The visitation will be from 1-8 p.m. Friday
and on Saturday one hour prior to the service.
The family would like to express thanks and
gratitude to the staff of the Ohio Valley
Health Care Center, to TLC in Home Services
and to Amedisys Hospice Services.
David C White
Parkersburg, WV
David C. White, 67, of Parkersburg, passed
away May 20, 2010, at Camden-Clark Memorial
Hospital.
He was born Jan. 20, 1943, at Grafton, W.Va.,
a son of the late Hoye Greg White Jr. and
Jessie Mildred Cole White. He was a graduate
of Parkersburg High School and was a member of
Trinity United Methodist Church.
He retired from BP Amaco with 37 years of
employment having first been hired by Union
Carbide on July 17, 1963, as an hourly worker.
In 1971, he was employed as a supervisor and
was involved in the start-up of the plant in
Puerto Rico. He was later promoted to
department head of the Compounding Unit when
Amaco purchased Union Carbide in 1986.
Surviving is his wife of 49 years, Sharon S.
Crawford White; son, David C. White II
(Regina) of Parkersburg; daughter, Julie
(Mike) Amos of Parkersburg; five
grandchildren, David Cole White III, Jason
Allen, Casey White, Jennifer Blankensop and
Katelyn White; two great-grandchildren,
Kiresten and Carly; and two sisters, Patty
(Bob) Jenkins of Belpre and Rose Lee (Bill)
Meredith of Hebron, Ohio.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in
death by a daughter, Deidre White; a brother,
Hoye Greg "Sonny" White III; and a sister,
June Janes.
There will be a memorial service at 11 a.m.
Tuesday at Trinity United Methodist Church, at
Tenth Avenue and Thomas Street in south
Parkersburg, with the Rev. David Stilgenbauer
officiating. The family will receive friends
at the church beginning at 10 a.m. Tuesday.
Following the service there will be a luncheon
provided for family and friends at Trinity's
Fellowship Hall located beside the church.
Kimes Funeral Home & Cremation Services is
assisting the family with the services.

Virginia J Pickering
Belpre, OH
Virginia J. Pickering, 64, of Belpre, passed
away May 17, 2010, at St. Joseph's Hospital in
Parkersburg.
She was born July 18, 1945, in Wood County, a
daughter of the late Pearl and Mary Louise
Nelson Mackey. She was of the Baptist faith
and had been employed with the Blennerhassett
Hotel and Arlington Health Care Center. She
enjoyed deer hunting and she enjoyed many
types of flowers, red and yellow were her
favorite.
Surviving is her husband, Earl R. "Pick"
Pickering; two sons, Earl R. Pickering Jr. and
Duane (Joann) Pickering, all of Parkersburg;
seven grandchildren; three great-
grandchildren; three brothers, David, Gary,
and Mike Mackey, all of Parkersburg; four
sisters, Mary Ann Miller, Carolyn Combs, Judy
Johnson, and Sharon Kelbaugh, all of
Parkersburg; several nieces, nephews and
cousins.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded
in death by a son, Donald Eugene Pickering in
1985; two brothers, Danny Joe and Dennis
Pickering; and a sister, Lilly Grant.
The funeral service will be 11 a.m. Wednesday
at Kimes Funeral Home, 521 Fifth Street,
Parkersburg. Pastor Charlene Spaur will
officiate and burial will follow at Fairview
Memory Gardens on State Route 339. The
visitation will be from 5-8 p.m. today.
Paul L Milhoam
St. Marys, WV
Paul L. Milhoan Sr., 83, of St. Marys, passed
away May 15, 2010, at Ohio Valley Health Care
Center.
He was born July 29, 1926, in Wood County, a
son of the late Richard A. and Lulu M.
McCullough Milhoan.
He was a graduate of Parkersburg High School
and was a U.S. Army veteran having served from
1944 to 1948. He was a member of First Baptist
Church of St. Marys, he enjoyed woodworking
and retired from Union Carbide as a pipefitter.
Surviving are two sons, Paul L. Milhoan Jr.
(Linda) of Vienna and Mark A. Milhoan (Joanne)
of Birmingham, Ala.; one daughter, Rebecca L.
(Jack) Spicer of Cumming, Ga.; eight
grandchildren, Jasen Milhoan, Michelle Leeson,
Stewart Milhoan, Patrick Milhoan, Sarah Hall,
Ethan Cunningham, Kristen Pack and Brittany
Milhoan; eight great-grandchildren; one
brother, Bill (Wilda) Milhoan of Williamstown;
one sister, Ila Nutter of Parkersburg; two
nieces; and four nephews.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in
death by his wife, Juanita M. Naylor Milhoan
in December of 2009; an infant brother; and
two sisters, Ruth Grimm and Lois Milhoan.
The funeral service will be 11 a.m. Tuesday at
Kimes Funeral Home, 521 Fifth St.,
Parkersburg. Pastor John Strimer will
officiate and burial will follow at Sunset
Memory Gardens with military rites conducted
by American Legion Post 15. The visitation
will be from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Monday.
Freddie Scott Sr.
Parkersburg, WV
Freddie Scott Sr., 76, of Parkersburg, passed
away May 10, 2010, at the Arbors of Marietta
following a short illness.
He was born June 9, 1933 at Braeholm, W.Va., a
son of the late Samuel and Sallie Banks Scott.
Freddie was a United States Army Veteran and
retired from Walker-Parkersburg. He was a
Christian and baptized at the Christian Life
Center, south Parkersburg. He was known to his
friends as "Scottie" and Family as "Gramps".
His wonderful sense of humor and strong willed
personality will be greatly missed by all.
Preceding him in death was his brothers,
Robert L. Scott and Samuel Scott, and sisters,
Nazarene Scott and Mary "Maggie" Davis. Also
preceding in death were three children,
Jocelyn F. "Gidget" Scott, Jason L. Scott and
Robin Ranae Kelly; and one granddaughter,
Aneitra Kelly.
He is survived by sister, Ester Thompson of
Churchton, Md., his wife, Sally Scott and
daughter, Jemetta-Scott-Cornelison of
Jeffersonville, Ind. He is also survived by
six children from his previous marriage:
Michael J. Scott, Fred Scott Jr., Deitra H.
Glover, Denise M. Jones, Jessica C. Wilson and
Jackie J. Zeune; 11 grandchildren, Michael J.
Scott II, Jessica N. Scott, Briana Jones, Trey
Bell, Janene Kinnett, Alisha Martin, Garrett
Zuene, Enoch T. Cornelison, Ivan T.
Cornelison, Fredrick L. Scott, Cheryl E.
Scott; and seven great-grandchildren,
Alexandra R. Kinnett, D'Andre S. Kinnett,
Danica F. Kinnett, Anthony W. Martin, Tyler W.
Martin, Jaylynn R. Spier, and Adrian M. Kaba;
three nephews, Todd Thompson, Elliot Thompson
and Joshua Davis; two nieces, Mary D. Townsend
and Marinda O'Neal; and a great-niece Jalyah
Townsend.
The funeral seervice will be held 11 a.m.
Friday at Kimes Funeral home, 521 Fifth
Street, Parkersburg. Pastor Delton Smith will
officiate and burial will follow at the Spring
Grove Cemetery with military rites conducted
by the American Legion Post # 15. The
visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. today.
EllaMae Emily Richards
Charleston, WV
EllaMae Emily Richards, 79, of Charleston,
formerly of Parkersburg, passed away May 2,
2010, at the Valley Center Nursing Home in
Charleston.
She was born June 9, 1930 in Wood County, a
daughter of the late A. Paul Richards and
Tressie Duncan Richards.
EllaMae was a member of the Christ United
Methodist Church in Charleston. She had
attended college at Fishersville, Va. She had
been employed with Goodwill Industries. She had
been a member of the Indoor Sports Club of
Parkersburg and the NAPH Club of Charleston.
Survivors include two brothers, Bill L.
(Barbara) Richards of Parkersburg and Gary A.
(Kathy) Richards in Texas; one sister, Sharon
K. (Roger) Childress of Alum Creek; several
nieces, nephews and great-nieces and nephews.
There will be a graveside service held at the
convenience of the family. Burial will be at
Evergreen South Cemetery in Parkersburg. There
will be no funeral service or visitation.
Kimes Funeral Home is assisting the family with
the arrangements.
