Philip Brantner Tedrick, 65, of Parkersburg
passed away Dec. 1, 2009, at the Pittsburgh
Veterans Hospital.
He was born July 10, 1944, in Parkersburg, a
son of Rose L. Pavlick and the late Robert B.
Tedrick I.
Mr. Tedrick was a 1962 graduate of Parkersburg
High School and attended Glenville State
College and West Virginia University. He was a
Disabled American Veteran, having served with
the U.S. Marine Corps during the Vietnam era.
He had worked with Bow Valley Petroleum and
Quaker State and special analytical services.
He was a member of the American Legion Post 15
of Parkersburg and the VFW Post 1212.
In addition to his mother, he is survived by
his wife, Roberta J. Cheatham Tedrick; one
daughter, Katherine Ellis (Tom) of Dayton,
Ohio; a stepson, Kirk R. Mills (Tammy) of
Parkersburg; one brother, David H. Tedrick
(Jackie) of Parkersburg; a sister, Laura Jane
Starr (Bill) of Louisville, Ky.; and his
beloved dog, Beau.
In addition to his father, he was preceded in
death by a brother, Robert B. Tedrick II.
There will be a memorial service at 3 p.m.
Saturday at Kimes Funeral Home, 521 Fifth St.,
Parkersburg, with Pastor Robert Farrar
officiating. There will be a gathering of
friends and relatives one hour prior to the
service Saturday at the funeral home.
Doris J Varner
Vienna, WV
Doris J. Varner, 80, of Vienna passed away Nov. 29, 2009, at the Parkersburg Health &
Rehabilitation Center.
She was born July 9, 1929, in Parkersburg, a
daughter of the late Elwood D. and Madaline R.
Biddle Barnett.
Doris was a member of the Church of Christ and
was a homemaker.
Surviving are sons, Robert Lemon of
Parkersburg and Larry Lemon of Bluefield,
W.Va.; daughters, Wanda Dix (Greg) of Tempe,
Ariz., Linda Lemon Williams (Terrance) and
Nancy Lemon Allen of Parkersburg;
stepdaughters, Betty Holmes and Lela Vasquez,
both of Parkersburg; 24 grandchildren; several
great-grandchildren; a sister, Dorothy Barnett
Stoops of Parkersburg; one niece; and two
nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded
in death by her husband, Homer Lee Varner; a
son, Ricky Varner; an infant brother, Kenneth
Barnett; and a sister, Joan Barnett Thornock.
A private funeral service was held Saturday
morning at Kimes Funeral Home in Parkersburg.
Pastor Bernard Dobby Thrash officiated and
burial followed at Evergreen North Cemetery.
Susan Lynn Burns
Marietta, OH
Susan Lynn Burns, 50, of the Marietta Care &
Rehabilitation Center passed away Saturday
evening, Nov. 28, 2009, at the center.
She was born Sept. 18, 1959, in Marietta, the
daughter of the late Robert Burns and Sharon
Lemley Burns Pfost. She was a graduate of
Williamstown High School and the Nursing
Program at Parkersburg Community College (WVU-
P). Susan had attended the Methodist Church in
Waverly, had worked as a registered nurse at
the St. Joseph's Hospital Psychiatric Unit and
enjoyed photography.
Survivors include aunts, Sue Lemley of
Davisville and Johnnie Lee Smith in Tennessee;
uncle, Jack Lemley of Parkersburg; and
cousins, Ruth Ann Exline, Charles Exline and
Jackie Criss, all of Wood County.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded
in death by an aunt, Carolyn Lemley Briggs;
and her grandparents, John T. Lemley and
Roberta Powell Lemley.
The funeral service will be 2:30 p.m. Tuesday
at Kimes Funeral Home, 521 Fifth St.,
Parkersburg, with Pastor Kenneth Calebaugh
officiating. Burial will follow at the
Riverview Cemetery at Williamstown. The
visitation will be from 1:30 p.m. until
service time Tuesday at the funeral home.
Annie Catherine Rowley
Waverly, WV
Annie Catherine Rowley, 96, of Waverly passed
away Nov. 27, 2009, at Camden-Clark Memorial
Hospital.
She was born May 2, 1913, a daughter of the
late John Wilbur Roberts and Alice Lemley
Roberts. She was a lifetime member of the
Middle Ridge Baptist Church, was a cook at the
Pleasant Valley School for 21 years and was a
50-plus year member of the Pleasant Hill
Homemakers Club.
She is survived by one son, Orva Rowley and
his wife, Jean; one daughter, Ruby Louise
Metz; and one daughter-in-law, Ada Rowley.
Also surviving are 10 grandchildren, Lee,
Roger, Alan, Bruce, Dennis, Darrel, Denver and
Darlene Rowley and Timothy and Jill Metz; 17
great-grandchildren; several great-great-
grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded
in death by her husband, Warren Rowley on Feb.
3, 1999; one son, Glen Rowley; two brothers,
Gordon and Denver Roberts; three sisters,
Ethel Stoops, Pauline Edwards and Helen
Newland; and one grandson, Douglas Rowley.
Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Monday at
Kimes Funeral Home, 521 Fifth St.,
Parkersburg, with Pastors John Barker and Doug
Guinn officiating. Burial will follow at the
Mt. Olivet Cemetery. Friends may call from 2-4
and 6-8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
Ernest Camden Hunt
Washinton, WV
Ernest Camden Hunt, 69, of Washington, W.Va.,
went home to be with the Lord on Nov. 23,
2009, at the Ohio State University Hospital in
Columbus following a brief illness.
He was born April 25, 1940, a son of the late
Walter and Eulah Sayre Hunt.
Camden was a 43-year member of the Lubeck
Church of Christ. He retired after 30 years of
teaching with the Wood County School System
and was working on his "PHD" for the last 15
years as Pizza Hut Delivery on southside.
He was a loyal West Virginia Mountaineer fan
and enjoyed following all of the local sports
teams. He also enjoyed bowling on the
Wednesday Senior League at Pike Street Lanes
for the last 15 years.
Surviving is his wife of 43 years, Shirley Kay
Lemley Hunt; two daughters, Rebecca (Becky)
Gallagher (Roy) of Pataskala, Ohio, and Lisa
Regester (Jeremy) of Erwin, Pa.; two
grandchildren who were his pride and joy,
Chase and Kaylynn Regester; one brother, Clair
Fisher Hunt (Shirley) of Ripley; one sister,
Nadine Tucker (Floyd) in Florida; a sister-in-
law, Evelyn Hunt of Evans, W.Va.; and several
nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in
death by two brothers, Carl and Robert Hunt,
both of Evans; and three sisters, Agnes
Morrison of Bremen, Ohio, Garnett Hunt of
Evans and Mate Shinn of McCutchenville, Ohio.
The funeral service will be 2 p.m. Saturday at
the Lubeck Church of Christ. Evangelists David
Newberry and Steve Fuchs will officiate and
burial will follow at Sunset Memory Gardens.
The visitation will be from 2-8 p.m. Friday at
Kimes Funeral Home, 521 Fifth Street,
Parkersburg, and one hour prior to the service
Saturday at the church.
Memorial contributions may be made to the
Erickson All Sports Facility in memory of
Ernest Camden Hunt.
