John Richard Acors, 62, of Parkersburg passed
away early Saturday morning, Nov. 7, 2009, in
the emergency department of Camden-Clark
Memorial Hospital.
He was born in Parkersburg, a son of the late
John Paul and Mary Lou Burdette Acors.
John was a member of St. Margaret Mary
Catholic Church and retired from Eramet with
30 years of service. He had served in the
United States Marine Corps and enjoyed
woodworking and the outdoors.
Surviving is his wife, Roxie Lowers Hutson
Acors; two sons, Chester Richard Acors in
Florida and Brian Scott Hornbeck of
Parkersburg; two daughters, Debra Sue Acors in
Florida and Becky Crites of Belpre; seven
stepchildren; several grandchildren and
stepgrandchildren; one brother, William
Michael Acors of Parkersburg; two sisters,
Mary Ann Acors Hornbeck of Parkersburg and
Susan Reed of Reedsville; and several nieces
and nephews.
The funeral service will be 1 p.m. Tuesday at
Kimes Funeral Home, 521 Fifth St.,
Parkersburg, with the Rev. Steven Reed
officiating. Burial will follow at the Mt.
Carmel Catholic Cemetery in Parkersburg. The
visitation will be from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m.
Monday at the funeral home.
Christina Marie Keffer
Vienna, WV
Christina Marie Keffer, 46, of Vienna, passed
away in a Pittsburgh Hospital on Nov. 2, 2009.
She was born Nov. 7, 1962, a daughter of Donna
Marie Berry Keffer of Vienna and the late
William Clifford Keffer.
Christina was a member of the Catholic Church,
had served in the United States Navy for six
years and had worked at Network Associates and
Wirefire.
She is also survived by a sister, Katherine
Keffer Reel Day of New Martinsville; and a
nephew, Alex Reel.
There will be no service or visitation.
Kimes Funeral Home and Cremation Services is
assisting the family with the cremation.
Billy L. Hutchinson
Parkersburg, WV
Billy L. Hutchinson, 70, of Parkersburg,
passed away Nov. 2, 2009, at The Willows
Nursing Home, where he had been a patient for
the past several months.
He was born Oct. 3, 1939 at Eastlynn, W.Va., a
son of the late William and Madge Hensley
Hutchinson. Billy retired from the Teamsters
Union 175.
Surviving is his loving wife, Iris Carolyn
Stover Hutchinson; one daughter, Sandra; two
stepsons, Ronnie James of Parkersburg and Alan
James of Ft. Bragg, N.C.; one stepdaughter,
Gina Martin of McConnelsville, Ohio; six
stepgrandchildren; three brothers, Beldon
Hutchinson and Donald Hutchinson, both of
Cleveland, and Kenneth Hutchinson of
Huntington; two sisters, Patricia Hodge of
Huntington and Mildred Sims of Proctorville,
Ohio; several nieces and nephews; and a
special friend, Ed Caplinger of Belpre.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in
death by a brother, Earl Hutchinson.
It was Billy's request that his body be
cremated and that there be no visitation or
services.

Leo C. West
Rockport, Wv
Leo C. West, 65, of Rockport, passed away Sunday, Nov. 1, 2009, at Camden-Clark Memorial
Hospital.
He was born July 23, 1944, at Rockport, a son
of the late Willie "Bud" West and Pet Carson
West.
Leo was a member of the Lowdell United
Methodist Church, retired from the O'Ames
Company with 31 years of service, a member of
the Steelworkers Union Local 1651, and a
member of the Belleville/Barlow Coon Hunters
Association. He enjoyed farming, gardening,
hunting and fishing, and treasured his family
and friends.
Surviving is his wife of 33 years, Cheryl
Hickman West; four sons and their wives, Brian
and Joni West of Stockport, Ohio, Rob and Amy
West of Belleville, Rick and Michelle West of
Rockport and Mike and Amy West of Rockport;
one daughter, Tami West and Josh Border of
Elizabeth; two brothers and their wives, Nile
and Jackie West of Parkersburg and Paul and
Rose West of Rockport; five grandchildren,
Danielle, Keith, Chelsie, Chad West and Issiah
Border; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Wednesday at
Kimes Funeral Home, 521 Fifth Street,
Parkersburg, with Pastor Vera Archer and the
Rev. Don Ankrom officiating. Burial will
follow in the Rockport section of the Big
Tygart Cemetery. The family will receive
friends from 2-8 p.m. today at the funeral
home.
Ruth Shaver
Parkersburg, WV
Ruth Shaver, 86, of Parkersburg passed away Oct. 30, 2009, at Parkersburg Care and
Rehabilitation.
She was born June 13, 1923, at Wadesville, a
daughter of the late Otto and Charlotte Eaton.
Ruth was a homemaker, she enjoyed sewing, was
a good cook and friend who cared about others
and was of the Baptist faith.
She is survived by five sons, Keith "Doug"
Shaver and wife, Maggie, of Killeen, Texas,
Lloyd "Larry" Shaver and wife, Helena, of
Parkersburg, Craig "Hank" Shaver and wife,
Serita, of Parkersburg, David "Kimbo" Shaver
of Davisville and Jeffery "Jeff" Shaver of
Parkersburg; and three daughters,
Rebecca "Becky" Shaver of Parkersburg,
Sherry "Mouse" Smith and husband, Roderick, of
Cutler, Ohio, and Bonita Kay Sayer and
husband, Bill, of Parkersburg. Also surviving
are two brothers, Samuel Howard "Dick" Eaton
of Norfolk, Va., and William "Buster" Eaton of
New York; two sisters, Bonnie Sams of
Pettyville and Wilma Starcher of Parkersburg;
six grandchildren, Cindy Shaver Tusman, Clint
Douglas Sayer, Isaac John Smith, Cassie Lynn
Smith, Travis C. Sayer and Steve L. Shaver;
several stepgrandchildren; one great-
grandchild, K.P. "Jake" Shaver; and several
nieces and nephews.
Preceding her in death is her husband, Lloyd
L. "Peck" Shaver; one daughter, Tina Denise
Shaver; three brothers, Chester Eaton, Denzil
Eaton and David Eaton; two sisters,
Doris "Sis" Hendrickson and Norma Oiler; one
grandson, Jason Shaver; and two stepgreat-
grandchildren, Evan Stephens and Mayan
Martinez.
Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Tuesday at
Kimes Funeral Home, 521 Fifth St.,
Parkersburg, with Pastor Larry Dale
officiating. Burial will follow at Sunset
Memory Gardens. The family will receive
visitors from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Monday at the
funeral home.
Nora Lucille (Nora Lou) Moncrief Florence, 79,
of State Route 339, Belpre, departed this
earthly life early Monday morning, Oct. 26,
2009, at Camden-Clark Memorial Hospital.
She was born July 29, 1930, in Parkersburg, a
daughter of the late Rosco Park and Beulah
Marie Griffin Moncrief. Nora was of the
Baptist Faith and had worked at Ralph's Market
as a clerk.
Surviving is her husband, Jack D. Florence and
their son, Steve (Marsha) Florence of Waverly;
three grandchildren, Joshua (Becky) Florence,
Stevie Florence and Savannah Brock; two great-
grandchildren, Jaylon Florence and Jaylin
Brock; one brother, Ronald Park (Linda)
Moncrief of Pettyville; two sisters, Loretta
Eddy (Ronald) of Leachtown and Sandra Feaster
(Boyd) of Sterling, Va.; an adopted sister,
Shelia Chapman (Joe); and several nieces and
nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded
in death by two infant sisters, Elizabeth Ann
Moncrief and Hilda Marie Moncrief.
The funeral service will be 10:30 a.m.
Thursday at the Gospel Baptist Church at
Torch, Ohio. Pastor Jay Hubbard will officiate
and burial will follow at Sunset Memory
Gardens. The visitation will be from 2-4 and 6-
8 p.m. Wednesday at Kimes Funeral Home, 521
Fifth Street, Parkersburg, and one hour prior
to the service Thursday at the church.
