Catherine H. Bruwelhide
Silver Spring, MD

Catherine H. Bruwelheide, 80, of Silver
Spring, Md., passed away Nov. 15, 2010, at the
Arbors of Marietta, Ohio.

She was born Aug. 1, 1930 at Pittsburgh, Pa.,
daughter of the late John C. and Catherine
Downes Hanson.

She was a member of the Resurrection Lutheran
Church at Silver Spring and had been employed
as an Administrative Assistant with the
Smithsonian Institute in Washington, D.C.

Surviving is her son, Kurt A. (Karin)
Bruwelheide of Silver Spring and her daughter,
Janice Pyatt (Fred) of Washington, W.Va.; four
grandchildren, Melissa Pyatt, Matthew Pyatt,
Beret K. Bruwelheide and Calvin D. Bruwelheide.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Fred
W. Bruwelheide.

A memorial service and open house will be
observed in December in Maryland and inurnment
will be in the Parklawn Cemetery at Rockville,
Md.

Memorial contributions may be directed to the
Humane Society of Parkersburg or to any local
Hospice Association.

Kimes Funeral Home & Cremation Services of
Parkersburg is assisting the family with the
arrangements.

Beva McPeek Rhodes
Parkersburg, WV

Beva McPeek Rhodes, 91, passed away Wednesday
morning Nov. 3, 2010, at Camden-Clark Memorial
Hospital.

She was born March 18, 1919 at Rockport,
W.Va., a daughter of the late Charles and
Elizabeth Stukey McPeek.

Beva lived 57 years of her life with her late
husband, George Rhodes, at their farm at New
England, W.Va. She lived the last 12 years of
her life in south Parkersburg.

Beva worked with the West Virginia Interstate
Fair for 38 years as a charter board member
and continued as a board member until the time
of her death and she was awarded a lifetime
member of the West Virginia Interstate Fair
and Exposition. She was active with the Wood
County and West Virginia Farm Bureau for the
past 53 years, 26 of which she was regional
Women's Chairman. She received the
distinguished service award for women with WV
Farm Bureau in 1993. Beva was an active member
of the Ohio Valley Homemakers for over 50
years. She was active with the Wood County
Senior Citizens. Beva was an active member of
the Bethany Christian Church for 65 years,
where she taught Sunday School for many years.
She was Treasurer of the Bethany Cemetery Fund
for about 40 years. Beva was a member of the
WV Artist and Craftsmen for many years. She
had her WV Artist & Craftsmen Seal of Quality
on her Quilting and Crochet.

Beva loved Gardening, Flowers, Quilting,
Crochet, and helping others.

She is survived by her son, Ralph Rhodes
(Christine) of Grand Rapids, Mich.; her
daughter, Vicki Rhodes of Parkersburg; three
granddaughters, Sarah Rhodes of Detroit,
Mich., Megan Ryan (William) of Washington,
D.C. and Emily Rhodes of East Lansing, Mich.;
one brother-in-law, Charles Rhodes (Dorothy)
of Washington, W.Va.; one stepsister, Florence
Poling of Parkersburg and numerous nieces,
nephews and great-nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, Beva was preceded
in death by her husband, George Rhodes;
brother, Jacob McPeek; sisters, Geneva Wigal
and Catherine McPeek.

The funeral service will be conducted at 2
p.m. Sunday at the Bethany Christian Church on
New England Ridge, Rev. Charles Eaton Jr. and
Tom Abbott will officiate and burial will
follow at Sunset Memory Gardens.

The visitation will be at the Kimes Funeral
Home, 521 Fifth Street, Parkersburg on
Saturday from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. and at the
church one hour prior to the service on Sunday.

There will be a gathering of friends and
family at Beva's home, 2302 Gihon Road,
Parkersburg, following the interment.

Memorial contributions may be directed to the
American Heart Association or to the American
Cancer Society.

Harriet Jean Carey
Vincent, Ohio

Harriet Jean Carey, 79, of Vincent, Ohio,
passed away Nov. 3, 2010, at her home.

She was born Oct. 22, 1931 at Moundsville,
W.Va., a daughter of the late Harry E. Sr. and
Nellie Mae Nice Warrick. Harriet was of the
Methodist Faith. She was a homemaker and she
worked as a waitress for 16 years for various
businesses in West Virginia including Red's
Truck Stop in Moundsville which was owned by
her father. She also enjoyed hunting and
bowling.

Surviving is her daughter, Lee Ann Piggott
(Robert) of Vincent; two grandchildren, Lisa
Williams of Waverly and John Tennant of
Parkersburg; four stepgrandsons, Eddie
Piggott, Robert Piggott, Tim Piggott and Steve
Piggott, all of the Parkersburg area; 19 great-
grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded
in death by her husband, John D. Carey; an
infant daughter, Mona Jane Carey; a brother,
Harry E. Warrick Jr.; a sister, Colleen
Warrick; and nephew, Nick LeMay.

The funeral service will be held 2 p.m. Friday
at Kimes Funeral Home, 521 Fifth St.,
Parkersburg, with the Rev. Kenneth Reynolds
officiating. Burial will follow at Evergreen
North Cemetery.

The visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. today.

Patricia May (Pat) Sole
Parkersburg, WV

Patricia May "Pat" Sole, 86, of Parkersburg,
passed away Nov. 1, 2010, at the Willows
Nursing Center.

Prior to her stay at the Willows, she was a
resident of the Wyngate Assisted Living
Facility.

She was born Feb. 3, 1924, in London, England,
a daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Charles
Green.

Mrs. Sole had been affiliated with Baptist
Temple Church and had worked at Sears
Department Store as cashier in the payroll
department. She was a member of the Sears
Retirees Association.

Surviving is her son and daughter-in-law,
Charles Woodrow Jr. and Margarita Sole of
Annondale, Va.; and a nephew, Clifford Green
of Scotland.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded
in death by her husband, Charles Woodrow Sole
Sr.; and a brother, Charles Green.

The funeral service will be 11 a.m. Friday at
Kimes Funeral Home, 521 Fifth St.,
Parkersburg. Doug Deem, deacon of St. Francis
Xavier Catholic Church, will officiate and
burial will follow at Pleasant View Cemetery.
Visitation will be 6-8 p.m. Thursday.

MarKeysha Leandra Williams
Little Hocking, OH

MarKeysha Leandra Williams, two-and-a-half
months old, daughter of Sir Williams and
Kasandra Hall of Little Hocking, passed away
Oct. 30, 2010, at home.

She was born Aug. 11, 2010 in Parkersburg and
she attended the Little Hocking Church of
Christ.

In addition to her parents, she is survived by
a brother MarShawn Hall at home; maternal
grandparents Stephanie Hall of Parkersburg and
Myron Waderker of Belpre; maternal great-
grandparents, Sandra Hall and Dee and Myron
Waderker of Little Hocking; maternal great-
great-grandparents, Ruth Kerrigan of Little
Hocking and Genny Harris of Columbus; paternal
grandmother, Sherilen Coles of Columbus.

She was preceded in death by maternal great-
grandfather, Brian Hall Sr.; paternal
grandfather, Orville Sharp II and cousin Byron
Coles.

The funeral service will be held 11 a.m.
Wednesday at Kimes Funeral Home, 521 Fifth
St., Parkersburg. Evangelist Matt Lowe will
officiate and burial will follow at the
Newberry Cemetery at Little Hocking. The
visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. today at the
funeral home.

Joyce Ann Sims
Parkersburg, WV

Joyce Ann Sims, 75, of Parkersburg, passed
away Oct. 24, 2010, at the Willows Nursing
Center where she had been a resident for the
past four years.

She was born Dec. 6, 1934 in Parkersburg, a
daughter of the late Clyde and Anna J. Fisher
Pence.

Joyce graduated from DeSales Heights Acadamy
and was a member of the St. Francis Xavier
Catholic Church. She worked as an LPN doing
private duty nursing. She was a member of the
Red Hat Society and enjoyed stamp collecting
and collecting buttons.

Surviving are four sons, James R. (Lisa) Sims
of Vienna, Douglas E. Sims of Parkersburg,
Steven W. (Jana) Sims of Vienna and David A.
Sims of Elkins; two daughters, Lizabeth
Lowther DeLong of Vienna and April Starkey
(John) of Lake Wales, Fla.; grandchildren,
Julie Payne, Billy Lowther, Laura Lowther,
Adam Sims, Angela Sims, Dorsey Shreve, Shannon
Langford, Amanda Starkey, Jonathan Starkey,
Brittany Sims, Brooke Sims, Megan Coss, Abby
Sims, Marissa Sims, Morgan Plummer, Tristan
Plummer, Joseph Sims and Sara Sims; and seven
great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded
in death by her husband, James Everett Sims; a
daughter, Julie Sims and her brother,
Richard "Dick" Pence.

The funeral service will be held 11 a.m.
Wednesday at Kimes Funeral Home, 521 Fifth
St., Parkersburg with Father Yesu Golla
officiating. Burial will follow at Parkersburg
Memorial Gardens with Rev. Bill Auxier
officiating the gravesite committal service.
The visitation will be from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m.
today.
