Bianca Nadine "Beezer" Jackson, 2, of Belpre
passed away Oct. 18, 2010, at her home.
She was born Dec. 5, 2007 in Charleston, a
daughter of James Edward "Butch" Jackson and
Chrystal Dillon of Belpre.
In addition to her parents, she is survived by
her maternal grandparents, Ron and Freda
Hartsborn of Belleville and Lawrence Edward II
and Connie Dillon of Parkersburg; paternal
grandparents, James Sr. and Deloris Jackson of
Belpre; maternal great-grandfather, Raymond
Bennett of Parkersburg; maternal great-
grandparents, Matt and Edwanna Dillon of
Parkersburg; her brother, Joshua McCulloris at
home; sisters, Angel Jackson of Marietta,
Sabrina Jackson and Christina Jackson of
Belpre; aunts and uncles, Beverly Mason, Larry
Jackson, George Casto, Sarah Dillon, David
Bennett and many cousins. Also surviving are
special family friends, Shawna Christy, Grace
Tucker, Brittany Christy and Kathy McCulloris.
The funeral service will be held 11 a.m.
Friday at Kimes Funeral Home, 521 Fifth St.,
Parkersburg. Rev. Kenneth Nolan will officiate
and burial will follow at Sunset Memory
Gardens.
The visitation will be on from 5-8 p.m.
Thursday at the funeral home.
Ira Clayton Young
Parkersburg, WV
Ira Clayton Young, 76, of Parkersburg passed
away Oct. 17, 2010, at his home.
He was born Dec. 13, 1933 at Harrison, W.Va.,
a son of the late Theodore Clinton and Velma
Marie Taylor Young. Clayton is retired from
Walker Systems with nearly 30 years of
service, and he was a member of the
Blennerhassett Nazarene Church. He enjoyed
hunting, fishing and camping.
Surviving is a son, Brian K. Young (Brenda
Kay) of Parkersburg; a daughter, Sandy Bailey
(Steve) of Parkersburg; five grandchildren; 11
great-grandchildren; three brothers, Delmas
Young (Loretta) of St. Albans, Dillon Young
(Getsell) of Charleston, and Mark Young
(Sheila) of Belleville and several nieces and
nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in
death by his wife, Marjorie Province Young in
1988 and a son, David T. Young.
The funeral service will be 1 p.m. Wednesday
at Kimes Funeral Home, 521 Fifth St.,
Parkersburg, with Pastor Jerry Caplinger
officiating. Burial will follow at Sunset
Memory Gardens. Visitation will be from 2-4
and 6-8 p.m. Tuesday.
Hazel Audrey Richmond
Williamstown, WV
Hazel Audrey Richmond, 85, of Williamstown,
W.Va., passed away Oct. 14, 2010, at the Eagle
Pointe Nursing Home.
She was born Aug. 23, 1925 in Wood County, a
daughter of the late Otto and Ora Lafferre.
Hazel was a member of the New England Baptist
Church and had been employed at GC Murphy's and
Dils Department Store. She enjoyed working
crosswords, cross stitching and word search.
Surviving are two sons, Michael Ackerman
(Dolores) of Augusta, Ga. and Dale Ackerman
(Debbie Randolph) of Williamstown; two
stepsons, Hal Richmond (Linda) and Ronnie
Richmond (Karen) all of Parkersburg; a
stepdaughter, Leola Moore of Barberton, Ohio;
seven grandchildren; and 14 great-
grandchildren; two brothers, Ernest Lafferre of
Washington, W.Va. and Harry Lafferre of
Coshocton, Ohio and several nieces and nephews
including those special to her, Dean Lafferre
of Washington, Shirley Tennant and Ruth King
both of New England.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in
death by her first husband, Sherman Ackerman;
her second husband, Harry Eugene Richmond;
brothers, Lewis, Cecil and Dale Lafferre and a
sister, Violet Moore.
The funeral service will be held 2 p.m. Sunday
at Kimes Funeral Home, 521 Fifth St., Pastor
Gene Hutton will officiate and burial will
follow at the New England Cemetery. The
visitation will be on Saturday from 4-8 p.m.
Florence Elizabeth Barker
Lubeck, WV
Florence Elizabeth Barker, 83, of Lubeck,
passed away Oct. 11, 2010 at Camden-Clark
Memorial Hospital.
She was born Jan. 16, 1927 in Parkersburg, a
daughter of the late David and Violet Wilson
Bartlett.
Florence had been a longtime member of the
Liberty Street Church of God and was a current
member of the Broadway Nazarene Church. She had
worked as a nurse's aide at Camden-Clark
Memorial Hospital where she was also a
volunteer with the ladies auxiliary. She
enjoyed crafting, crochet, reading her Bible
and enjoyed her grandchildren.
Surviving are two sons, Pastor John D. Barker
(Marilyn) of Parkersburg and Carl "Skip" Barker
(Cathy) of Pettyville; two daughters, Debra
L. "Debbie" Belt (Roger) of Larkmead and Joyce
Diane Harrison of Lubeck; eight grandchildren;
12 great-grandchildren; one sister, Gladys
Alvis (George) of Parkersburg; several nieces
and nephews, and special friend and caregiver,
Anita Burdette.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in
death by her husband, Elmer Ross Barker in
1979; a brother, David Bartlett and a sister,
Mickey Collins.
Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Wednesday
at Kimes Funeral Home, 521 5th Street,
Parkersburg, with her son John officiating.
Burial will follow at Northview Cemetery at New
Martinsville.
The visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. today and
an hour prior to the service on Wednesday.
Erma Anderson
Parkersburg, WV
Erma Anderson, 90, of the Wyngate Assisted
Living Facility, passed away Oct. 6, 2010, at
Wyngate.
She was born Nov. 2, 1919, at Royal, Iowa, a
daughter of the late Grover and Gladys
Anderson.
Erma was a 1937 graduate of Parkersburg High
School and a lifelong member of St. Andrews
United Methodist Church where she had been a
member and chairman of the board and member
and past president of the United Methodist
Women.
She had worked as secretary to Mr. Dwight
Conner, long-time principal of Parkersburg
High School, and also was secretary for the
Wood County Board of Education and a secretary
at the American Viscose plant. Erma received a
bachelor of science from Ohio University at
Athens and her master of science from Syracuse
(N.Y.) University. She was also an
administrator in student personnel service at
Ohio University and the University of Denver
in Colorado to end her career. Erma was also a
member of the PEO sisterhood, Altrusa
International, Delta Kappa Gamma Society,
University Women, and Women Marine Chapter of
West Virginia having enlisted in the United
States Marine Corps in 1943 and serving during
World War II.
She is survived by her sister, Mary Jane
Glenn; her niece Christine (Thomas) Penland
and their daughter Kelly (Tracey) Holmes and
their children, Timothy, Mary and Tracey
Holmes; her nephew Jack Glenn and his
daughters Jill and Leigh and their sons,
Conner and Gavin, all of Florida; also many
cousins throughout the United States. She is
also survived by her good friends and
caregivers, Pete and Winnie Bailey, who were
the Angels in her life.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded
in death by her brother-in-law, Jack O. Glenn.
There will be a private memorial service at
Mt. Olivet Cemetery.

Lawrence (Red) Brown
Parkersburg, WV
Lawrence "Red" Brown, of Parkersburg, passed
away Sept. 27, 2010, at Camden-Clark Memorial
Hospital.
He was born March 27, 1925 at Advent, W.Va., a
son of the late Charles E. and Ida Asbury Brown.
Red was affiliated with the Labor'ers With
Christ Church at Waverly and was a local
longtime barber for 60 plus years and he was a
U.S. Army veteran having served in Europe
during World War II.
Surviving is a son, Cameron Brown of
Parkersburg; four daughters, Carolyn (David)
Summers of Parkersburg, Evelyn (Arthur) Garcia
in Texas, Kimberly (Greg) Jeffers of
Parkersburg and Melanie Springer of Marietta;
and a grandson that he raised, Craig (Darlene)
Brown of Parkersburg; nine additional
grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren;
two brothers, Howard Brown in Charleston and
Walter Brown in Spencer; two sisters, Irene
Wheeler in Charleston and Hazel Gouldsburry in
Arizona and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in
death by his wife, Gaythalee Ann Coffman Brown
in 1982; a brother, Harry Brown and a sister,
Margaret Brown.
The funeral service will be held 11 a.m.
Thursday at Kimes Funeral Home, 521 Fifth
Street, Parkersburg. Pastor Victor Carsey will
officiate and burial will follow at Sunset
Memory Gardens. The visitation will be from 2-4
and 6-8 p.m. today.
