Eugene Asbury, 80, of Bancroft died March 21, 2006, in Thomas Memorial Hospital.
He was a member of the Hometown Senior Citizens.
Surviving: wife, Mary Jane Asbury; children, Judy of Bancroft, Curtis Asbury of Poca, Elizabeth and Randy Cobb of Florida, Diana and Kenneth Burns of St. Albans, Jr. Asbury of South Charleston, Betty Workman of North Charleston, David and Tina Asbury of Poca; nine grandchildren; three great-grandchildren.
Service was held March 25, 2006 at Gatens-Harding Funeral Home, Poca. Burial was in Center Point Cemetery.

Muriel Briggs Childers
Muriel Briggs Childers, 92, of Poca died March 23, 2006, in Hubbard Hospice House.
She was a member of Poca United Methodist Church and the Eastern Star. She was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Arnold Childers, and daughter, Joan Elizabeth Woolsey.
Surviving: four grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren; other relatives and a host of friends.
Service was held March 25, 2006 at Poca United Methodist Church with Pastor Jonathan Nettles officiating. Burial was in Cunningham Memorial Park. Gatens-Harding Funeral Home, Poca, was in charge of arrangements.

Anna Laura Foster
Anna Laura Foster, 80, of Hurricane died March 23, 2006, at SunBridge of Putnam following a long illness.
Born August 23, 1925 in Crum, she was a daughter of the late John Warden and Laura Jane Rider Foster.
She was retired from C&P Telephone of Virginia and was a member of Covenant Presbyterian Church, Hurricane.
Surviving: sister, Emma Dillon of Hurricane; niece and nephews, Norma, Tony and Wayne.
Graveside service was held March 27, 2006 at Union Chapel Cemetery, Hot Springs, Virginia. Chapman Funeral Home, Teays Valley, was in charge of arrangements.

Clara Elizabeth Johnson
Clara Elizabeth Johnson, 74 of Milton, went home to be with her Lord, Tuesday, March 14, 2006, in St. Mary’s Medical Center. A memorial service was conducted 1 p.m. Friday, March 17, 2006, at the Chapel of Remembrance at Forest Memorial Park, Milton, with the Rev. Allen Stewart officiating. Clara was born February 13, 1932, in Cabell County, West Virginia, a daughter of the late Basil and Minnie Hatfield Bledsoe. She is also preceded in death by her husband, Lenville Johnson; one daughter, Michaela “Miki” Worley; one brother, Basil Bledsoe Jr. Clara worked for Cabell Huntington Hospital for more than 11 years then ventured in her own businesses. She spent the last few years as the manager of Blue Spruce Community Mobile Home Park. She is survived by one granddaughter, Lindsey Elizabeth Wallace and her fiancee’, Travis Reed; one grandson, Evan Todd Hinkle; three brothers, Darrell Bledsoe, Jarrell Bledsoe and David Bledsoe; five sisters, Hazel Clay, Thelma Martin, Joann Wheeler, Betty Testerman and Barbara Brooks. Family has requested donations be sent to the American Cancer Society for breast cancer awareness. Clara was so dearly loved and will be sadly missed by all who knew her. Heck Funeral Home, Milton, was in charge of arrangements. Online condolences may be sent through www.heckfuneralhome.net.

Mary Ann Adkins
Mary Ann Adkins, 8 of Ona, W.Va., died Saturday, March 18, 2006, in St. Mary’s Medical Center. Funeral services were conducted Thursday, March 23, 2006, at Mud River Baptist Church Ona, W.Va., by the Rev. Thorny Artrip. Interment White Chapel Memorial Gardens, Barboursville. She was born February 9, 1919, in Mingo County, West Virginia, daughter of the late Jesse and Louemma Williams Maynard. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Henry Adkins in 1993, and a brother, Emery Maynard. Mrs. Adkins was a member of Genoa United Baptist Church. She was an active member of the Democratic Women’s Club for 25 years, and was a life member of VFW #9796 Auxiliary, Milton. Surviving are six daughters and three sons-in-law, Janet and Jack Artrip of Ona, W.Va., Betty and Ted Trent of Huntington, Angie and Bob St. John of St. Louis, Mo., Hazel Little of California, Alta Adkins and Tilda Bowling, both of West Hamlin, W.Va.; two sons and daughters-in-law, Jesse and Helen Adkins of Cleveland, Ohio, and Robert H. Jr. and Marsha Adkins of Grand Rapids, Mich.; two sisters, Frankie Norris and her husband Joe of Pennsylvania , and Ollie West of South Carolina: brothers and sisters-in-law, Art and Flo Maynard of Pennsylvania , Crit and Selena Maynard of Shoals, W.Va., and Perry and Linda May of Florida; a sister-in-law, Leona Adkins of Ona; several nieces and nephews; 33 grandchildren and 60 great-grandchildren. Henson Mortuary was in charge of arrangements.

Fredrick William Hubner III
Fredrick William Hubner, III, age 34, passed away on Wednesday, March 15, 2006, at his rural New Harmony, Ind., residence from injuries received in a fire. He was born July 2, 1971 in LaPorte, Ind., the son of Fredrick William Hubner Jr. and DeAndrea Smith. He worked for Warehouse Services Inc., where he was Warehouse Manager. He was a member of the Mount Vernon Conservation Club and the Sons of the American Legion. He is preceded in death by his fraternal twin daughters, Hannah Renee and Madison Laura Hubner, who also lost their lives in the fire. Surviving is his wife of four .years, Angel Dawn (Dutton) Hubner of New Harmony, Ind.; his daughter, Ondrea Dezare Hubner of Evansville, Ind., his mother, De Smith of Mount Vernon, Ind., and his father Bud Hubner Jr. of Florida; his two sisters, Latisha Smith of Mount Vernon, Ind., and Amber Held of Boonville, Ind.; his uncle Emiel “Mo” Smith of Mount Vernon, Ind.; his niece Lindsey Simmons, his nephew Andrew Held, his cousins Brandon Smith and Stephanie Russell. Memorial services were held Saturday, March 25, 2006, at Heck Funeral Home, Milton, WV, with burial in Union Ridge Cemetery at Glenwood, W.Va. Memorial contributions can be made to the Angel Dawn Hubner Trust Fund in care of Pamela Gail Dutton, custodian.

Hannah Renee Hubner
Hannah Renee Hubner, age 3, passed away on Wednesday, March 15, 2006, at her rural New Harmony, Ind., residence from injuries received in a fire. She was born on December 21, 2002, in Evansville, Ind., the daughter of Fredrick William III and Angel Dawn (Dutton) Hubner. Hannah enjoyed swinging, riding her bike, and especially talking on the phone. She was preceded in death by her father and fraternal twin sister, Madison, who also lost their lives in the fire. She is survived by her mother Angel Dawn (Dutton) Hubner of New Harmony, Ind.; her sister Ondrea Dezare Hubner of Evansville Ind.; her maternal grandparents William Allen Jr. “Pawpaw” and Pamela Gail “Mimi” Dutton of Barboursville, W.Va.; her maternal great-grandmothers Laura “Mawmaw” Mount of Glenwood, W.Va., and Freda Annette Kuhn of Barboursville, W.Va.; her maternal great-grandparents Connie and Lloyd Morrison of Ona, W.Va., her paternal grandmother DeAndrea Smith of Mount Vernon, Ind.; her paternal grandfather Bud Hubner Jr. of Florida; her uncle William Allen “Alley” Dutton III; her uncle and aunt Robert and Kim Morrison; her aunts Latisha Smith and Amber Held, and cousins. Memorial services were held Saturday, March 25, 2006, at Heck Funeral Home, Milton, with burial in Union Ridge Cemetery at Glenwood, W.Va. Madison Laura Hubner
Madison Laura Hubner, age 3, passed away on Wednesday, March 15, 2006, at her rural New Harmony, Ind., residence from injuries received in a fire. Cora Jean Culver Chatterton
Cora Jean Culver Chatterton, 81, of Milton, formerly of Newark, Ohio, went home to be with the Lord Monday, March 21, 2006, in St. Mary’s Medical Center. A memorial service was held Sunday, March 26, 2006, at the Seventh Day Adventist Church, 701 Linville Road, Newark Ohio. She was born .Jan. 29,1925, in Zanesville, Ohio, a daughter of the late Granville A. and Nellie V. (Mason) Culver. She was also preceded in death by her son, Terrence Lee “Terry” Chatterton; three brothers, Paul, Jim, and Dick Culver; one sister, Aileen Sprecher. She is survived by her daughter, Gloria J. Adkins of Barboursville; one sister, Dorothy Gaskella of Martinsburg, Ohio; one brother, Douglas Culver of Newark, Ohio; two grandchildren and their spouses, Paul and Monica Adkins and Elizabeth and James Wilkinson; three great-grandchildren Alex and Sawyer Adkins and Ryan Wilkinson; special caregiver, Boyce T. Adkins. Cora was a graduate from Newark High School and a member of the Seventh Day Adventist Church, Newark.

Joseph Edward Martin
In loving memory of Joseph Edward Martin of Huntington, W.Va., who was taken home to God and his heavenly family on March 18, 2006. Joe was born December 11, 1938. He will be remembered for truly living and enjoying every moment of his life. He attended Georgia Tech and is a graduate of Marshall University. He retired from INCO, where he was a salesman based in Atlanta, Ga., for 26 years. He then worked in Chicago, Ill., for Gem Creations, another job he enjoyed. He was preceded in death by his wife, Judy Mould Martin; his parents, Adam and Vera Martin, and his sister, Mary Jane McColm. Joe is survived by two daughters and sons-in-law, Angela Dawn and Paul Harmon of Barboursville, W.Va., and Jo Allyson and Jeff Salmons of Salt Rock, WV. He is also survived by his brother and sister-in-law, Jim and Dorothy Martin of Summerfield, Fla.; a nephew, Nick Martin and Vivian, of New York City, and a niece Linda Martin Smith and her husband Steve of Atlanta; one great-niece, Nicole Martin Milton, and two great-nephews, Steven Andrew Smith and Adam Goldin Martin. He is also survived by a stepdaughter, Lisa and her husband Larry Gamby of Columbus, Ohio, and two stepsons, Michael and Karen Williams of Yakima, Wash., and Timothy and Maryann Williams of Tehaehapi, Calif. Joe has 11 wonderful grandchildren which he enjoyed, Emily, Sarah and Nicholas Harmon of Barboursville, W.Va., Brittney and Seth Gamby of Columbus, Ohio, Megan and Jeffrey Williams of Yakima, Wash., and Daniel, Ayla, Lee and Johnpaul Williams of Tehachapi, Calif.
Joe leaves behind many family and friends who will dearly miss him and special neighbors and friends, Keith and Katherine Ellis. A memorial service was held Saturday, March 25, 2006, at Wallace Funeral Home, Barboursville,.W.Va., officiated by Julia Bolling. Burial in Woodmere Memorial Park, Huntington.

Thelma Kathleen Allen
Thelma Kathleen Allen, 75, of Barboursville, formerly of Milton, went home to be with her Lord, Monday, March 13, 2006, peacefully in her sleep. Funeral services were conducted Thursday, March 16, 2006, at Heck Funeral Home, Milton, with the Rev. Charles Norris officiating. Burial in Bias Chapel Cemetery, Milton. Thelma was born November 3, 1930, in Cabell County, West Virginia, a daughter of the late Emory Weldon and Louise Anna Chapman Meadows. She is also preceded in death by her husband, Sherman Allen; one daughter, Rebecca Karen Arthur; two stepsons, Sidney Allen and Sampie Allen; three brothers, Denver Meadows, Lee Meadows and Luther Meadows. Thelma was a member of Mt. Olive United Methodist Church. She is survived by six daughters, Mary Louise Accord, Anna Christine Thomas, Joyce Marie Matthews, Barbara Pauley, Diana Faye Thomas and Regina Kay Waggoner; four sons, James D. Arthur, Frank E. Arthur, David L. Arthur and Johney Allen; five stepdaughters, Alma Cline, Pauline Garrison, Velda Ratcliffe, Drema Allen and Darlene Bonds; one stepson, Aldie Allen; three sisters, Martha Glover, Betty Neisess and Elta Mae Eckman; one brother, Delbert Meadows and a host of grandchildren.

Robbin Elaine King
Robbin Elaine King, 43, of Huntington, passed away Friday, March 10, 2006, in South Carolina. Funeral services were conducted Thursday, March 16, 2006, at the Wallace Funeral Home and Chapel by the Pastor John Wentz. Burial in Ridgelawn Memorial Park, Huntington. She was born May 5, 1962, in Huntington, a daughter of Mary Margaret Wentz Greenwood of Barboursville. She was preceded in death by one brother, Kenneth Murphy. She is survived by her husband, David A. King; one son, Joshua David Greenwood and his wife Dusty of Huntington; two grandsons, Joshua David Greenwood Jr. and Harlen Allen Greenwood; three sisters, Joeann Fakourey of Ranger, W.Va., Paula W. Clayton of Huntington and Margaret Ann Johnson of Chesapeake, Ohio; her father-in-law, Wesley King; one sister-in-law, Barbara Carter; several nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews and friends who she was very close to.

Kenneth McGinnis Qualls
Kenneth McGinnis Qualls, 79, of Ona, West Virginia, went home to be with his Lord Monday, March 13, 2006. He was born August 31, 1926. He was a member of Blue Sulphur UBI Church. Surviving are his wife, Ethel Mae Dennison Qualls; four children, Crystal Miller, Brenda Stubblefield, Dwight Qualls and Carla Erwin; three sons-in-law, Roger Miller, Sammie Stubblefield, and Rodney Erwin; three grandchildren, Christy (Alan) Gianettino, Holly (Rodney) Wilson and Contina (Bobby) Caldwell; three great-grandchildren, Kensey Gianettino, Hannah Wilson and Samuel Wilson. Kenneth was preceded in death by his parents, Charles Wesley Qualls and Clara McGinnis Qualls and a daughter-in-law, Helen Kincaid Qualls. He retired from Pritchard Electric Company, was a member of the IBEW Local 317, and served his country in World War II in the U.S. Army, and the Korean War in the U.S. Marine Corps. Mr. Qualls had also been employed by the C&O Railway and Hawes Electric. He was also a Master Mason of Minerva Lodge #13 AF&AM, Barboursville. Funeral services were conducted Thursday, March 16, 2006, at the Wallace Funeral Home and Chapel, Barboursville, by Pastor Leonard Spurlock. Burial in White Chapel Memorial Gardens.
