Wilda Dianne Campbell Legg, 61, of Huntington, passed away Friday, March 10, 2006, at St. Mary’s Medical Center. Memorial services were conducted 2 p.m. Sunday, March 12, 2006, at the Wallace Funeral Home & Chapel, Barboursville, by Pastor Keith Waters of Christ Temple. She was born February 28, 1945, in Huntington, a daughter of Mary L. Moore Woodall of Barboursville, and the late L. Ray Woodall. She was preceded in death by one son, William “Scott” Campbell. Also surviving are her husband, Robert “Bob” Legg; two daughters, Mischelle Denise Campbell of Beckley and grandson, Dustin and granddaughter, Carrisa; Martha Ann Elliott and her husband, Jonathan; grandsons, Jacob and Josh, of Proctorville; one sister, Marsha Lovejoy Faulkner of Salt Rock; two brothers, Charles Doug Moore of Chesapeake, Ohio, and Danny Ray Woodall of Columbus, Ohio; and special pet Peepers. The family suggests that memorial contributions be made to Hospice of Huntington, Box 464, Huntington, WV, 25709.

May Marie Lowe
May Marie Lowe, 85, of Salt Rock, passed away Friday, March 10, 2006. Funeral services were conducted at 11 a.m. Monday, March 13, 2006, at Mt Calvary Church, Salt Rock by the Rev. Bob Dailey. Burial in Porter Cemetery. She was born Oct. 11, 1920, in Cabell County, a daughter of the late Elmer Gordon Sergent and Pearl Nida Sergent. She was preceded in death by her husband, Brady O. Lowe; two brothers, James and Leonard Sergent. She is survived by one daughter, Janie Lowe Riggs of Milton; three sons and daughters-in-law, Brady G. and Lanette Lowe of Florida, James E. “Bo” and Janet Lowe of Huntington, Wesley Allen “Pete” Lowe of Wayne County; one sister, Lavonia “Cricket” Porter Of Salt Rock, nine grandchildren, three step-grandchildren, and several great-grandchildren. Wallace Funeral Home & Chapel, Barboursville, was in charge of arrangements.

Ervin E. Alexander
Ervin E. “Boot Jack” Alexander, 59, of Buffalo passed away Friday, March 10, 2006, at CAMC General Hospital following a short illness.
He was a proud Navy veteran of the Vietnam War. He was employed as a truck driver at Valley Brook Concrete and Supply. Born Feb. 21, 1947, he was the son of the late Marion and Sylvia Casto Alexander. He was also preceded in death by one brother; and one daughter, Cheyenne.
Survivors include his wife, Martha Whittington Alexander of Buffalo; daughters, Johni Lynn of Buffalo, and Angie Snider of Ohio; sons, Joe Snider of Ohio, and Ervin E. Alexander II of California; sisters, Hazel Mash of Kentucky, and Ruby Clark of Leon; brothers, Charles F. Alexander of Ohio, Theodore Alexander of Ohio, Raymond Alexander of Ripley, and Melvin Alexander of Ohio; and a grandchild, Will Snider.
Funeral services were conducted Tuesday, March 14, 2006, at Raynes Funeral Home, Buffalo, with Pastor Mike Tucker officiating. Burial in Whittington family Cemetery, Buffalo.

Eileen Neal Holdren
Eileen Neal Holdren, 81, of Hurricane, passed away Thursday, March 9, 2006, after an apparent heart attack in Thomas Memorial Hospital.
She was retired from Shawnee Hills and a member of Forrest Burdette Memorial United Methodist Church.
Surviving are husband, Samuel; son, Sam Holdren Jr. and his wife, Michelle, of Hurricane; daughter, Barbara Adkins and her husband, Rick, of Charleston; grandchildren, Brian, Ben, Sarah, Heather, Jade, Brandon, Samuel, Chase, Joseph, Debbie, and J.T.; sister, Georgia Holcomb of Clay County.
Services were conducted Saturday, March 11, at Forrest Burdette Memorial United Methodist Church, Hurricane. Burial in Montgomery Memorial Park, London. Allen Funeral Home, Hurricane, was in charge of arrangements.

Edwin McCallister
Edwin McCallister, 56, of Scott Depot, died March 11, 2006, at Putnam General Hospital, Hurricane.
Born Aug. 9, 1949, in Scott Depot, he was a son of the late Woodrow and Opal Wick McCallister. He was also preceded in death by his sister, Cathy Jenkins.
He was a self-employed auto mechanic owning McCallister’s Garage, Scott Depot, and served his country with the United Slates Navy during the Vietnam Era.
Surviving are his brothers, Chuck and Mike McCallister, both of Scott Depot, and his companion, Phyllis Riddle of Culloden.
Services were conducted Monday, March 13, at Chapman Funeral Home, Hurricane, with the Rev. Fred McCallister officiating. Burial in Winfield Cemetery, Winfield.

James Thomas Brady Jr.
James Thomas “Chink/Jim” Brady Jr., passed away Tuesday, Feb. 28, 2006, in Oviedo, Fla., where he lived with his daughter, Carol Brady Tittle, and her husband Chuck. He suffered from Parkinson’s and emphysema. He was born Nov. 11, 1919, in Barboursville, and lived most of his life in Barboursville, where he and his family owned and operated Brady Hardware. He survived his beloved wife of 56 years, Betty Hall Brady, who passed away in 2004 from Alzheimer’s. He is the son of Anna Allen Brady and James Thomas Brady, Sr.
Chink, a nickname given to him at birth by his father, is survived by his daughter, Carol Tittle, of Oviedo, Fla.; sister Anne Turman of Barboursville; brother Robert (Bob) Brady of Scottsdale, Ariz.; sister B.J.. White of West Palm Beach, Fla.; granddaughter Ashley Snowden and her husband David, and their children, Libby and Brady, of Lemoore, Calif. Surviving nieces and nephews are: Cinda Hall Short of Plant City, Fla., Bill Pike of Jonesboro, Ga., Jed Daniels and Fred Daniels of Boynton Beach, Fla., Cathy Brady Knapp of Prescott, Ariz., Sherry White of Hilton Head, S.C., Becky White Minger of Shady Side, Ohio, Jane White Peters of Columbus, Ohio, Mary Jane Brumfield, of Ona, W.Va., Susan Gaynor, of Blacklick, Ohio, Joe Krieger of Tallahassee, Fla. and Tom Krieger of Huntington. He is also survived by his sisters-in-law, Carol Teagle, of Lakeland, Fla. and Virginia Krieger of Huntington. Predeceasing him are his sisters Thea Daniels and Mary Lou Brady.
Mr. Brady graduated from Barboursville High School at age 16 and attended Marshall University. He joined the Army Air Corps in WW II and was a flight simulator trainer stationed in California and Colorado. After the war, he became an apprentice surveyor before coming back to Barboursville to help run the family hardware store, opened in 1898, after the death of his father. He was a founder of KVD, a hardware buying cooperative for more than 13 regional hardware stores. He also was a co-owner, with his brother Bob, of two bathroom and kitchen stores. As a longtime member of Guyan Golf and Country Club he became a self-taught “scratch” golfer. He served many years on the Board of Directors and was a past President. He was made an Honorary member when he retired. After a serious illness in 1996, he and Betty moved to the Key Largo area in 2000 to live with his daughter and her husband. Mr. Brady was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Barboursville, where his family were founders.
He quietly helped many in the area through his businesses, a trait he inherited from his father during the Depression. He was an early supporter of the Barboursville Volunteer Fire Department and active in the Barboursville High School Booster Club. He was active in civic affairs, but declined to become involved in politics after the death of his father. His father, a former mayor of Barboursville, was then the youngest mayor in the state, and also served on the Cabell County Court and in the WV House of Delegates. Many will remember Chink’s generosity, great sense of humor and friendliness. He never met a stranger.
The family requests that anyone who knew him to write a small remembrance of him so it may be passed on to his great-grandson and namesake, James Brady Snowden, and great-granddaughter, Libby. Milton Lee Duke
Milton Lee Duke, 70 of Huntington, passed away Friday, March 3, 2006 at St Mary’s Medical Center. Funeral services were conducted at I p.m. Monday, March 6, 2006, at the Wallace Funeral Home and Chapel by the Rev. Tommy Jeffrey. Burial in White Chapel Memorial Gardens. He was born Oct 19, 1935, in Cabell County, a son of the late Milton R. and Ruth Miller Duke. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Joe Duke and Bill Duke, and one sister, Dorothy Jeffrey. He was a retired business owner. Survivors include his wife, Deloris Lycans Duke; a son, Lindell Duke of Kenova; daughters, Cinda Duke, also of Kenova, Sherry Murphy (Mike) of Huntington, and Glinda Murphy (Greg) of Wayne; six grandchildren, Justin, Adam, and Joshua Duke, Amber, Brock and Brooke Murphy; several nieces and nephews, and two very special nieces, Trina Lyon and Denise Smith. Wallace Funeral Home, Barboursville, was in charge of arrangements.

Leola Frennis Harbour
Leola Frennis Harbour, 93, of Barboursville, formerly of Huntington and Salt Rock, passed away Saturday, March 4, 2006, at her residence. Funeral services were conducted at 1 p.m. Tuesday, March 7, 2006, at the Wallace Funeral Home & Chapel by the Rev. James Jobe. Burial in Enon Cemetery. She was born Aug. 17, 1912, in Cabell County, a daughter of the late Curtis B. and Essie Lucas Harbour. She was also preceded in death by one sister, Arlene Johnson and her husband Robert; five brothers, Russell, Charles, James, Curtis Bill and Darrell Harbour and his wife Anna; and one niece, Emma Helen Stevens. She graduated from Morris Harvey College and Marshall College. She was a retired teacher with a career that spanned over a half of a century. She was a member of Cabell County Retired Teachers Association, the West Virginia Teachers Association, the Alpha Delta Kappa and was a Methodist by faith. She is survived by four sisters and their spouses, Fern and Leslie Maynard of Ravenswood, WVa., Juanita and Jack Adkins of Chesapeake, Va., Ouida and Emerson Pearson of Barboursville and Judith and Robert Loudermilk of Virginia Beach, Va.; two brothers and their spouses, Winston and Reba Harbour of Salt Rock, Edward and Rachel Harbour of Russell, Ky.; two sisters-in-law, Dessie Harbour and Dorothy Harbour, both of Salt Rock; 38 nieces and nephews and a host of loving great-nieces, great-nephews and friends. Wallace Funeral Home, Barboursville, was in charge of arrangement. She will be greatly missed by us all.

Albert Wesley Lucas
Albert Wesley Lucas, 69, of Culloden, W.Va., passed away Friday, March 3, 2006, at home. He was preceded in death by his wife of 27 years, Sharon Lucas; his parents, Madison and Lillie “Clark” Lucas. He is survived by his three daughters, Teresa (Todd) Remeur of Indian River, Mich., Tammy (Steve) Allen of Battle Creek, Mich., and Toni Lucas of Hamlin, W.Va.; nine grandchildren and one great-grandchild; a loving companion, Ledith Salmons of Culloden, W.Va., her daughter, Angie Edwards, who was very special to him, and her family, John, Wes and Amanda, all of .Hamlin, W.Va.; and a host of ,friends. Funeral services were held Tuesday, March 7, 2006, at Koontz Funeral Home, Hamlin, WV. Interment at White Chapel Memorial Gardens, Barboursville, with military graveside rites by American Legion Post #111 of Hamlin.

Mrs. Hallie Mae Hall
Mrs. Hallie Mae Hall, 94, of Barboursville, passed away Thursday, March 2, 2006, at Putnam General Hospital. Funeral services were conducted at 2 p.m. Sunday, March 5, 2006, at the Wallace Funeral Home, Milton, by the Rev. Craig Coster. Burial in Peach Ridge Cemetery. She was born February 2, 1912, in Putnam County, a daughter of the late Lewis and Ruby Scott Smith. She was preceded in death by her husband, Clinton Hall; two grandsons, Joseph and Gregory Hall. She is survived by three sons and a daughter-in-law, Billy and Phyllis Hall of Barboursville, Ted Hall of Hurricane, and Bobby Hall of Milton; six grandchildren and several great-grandchildren.

Caldwell Darrell Mays
Caldwell Darrell Mays, 59, of Prichard, WV, formerly of Huntington, went to be with the Lord Friday, March 3, 2006. Funeral services were conducted at 2 p.m. Wednesday, March 8, 2006, at the Wallace Funeral Home & Chapel by Pastor Elmer Armstrong. Burial in Forest Memorial Park, Milton. He was born May 29, 1946, in Cabell County, a son of the late Rosa V. Mays and Melvin J. Fetty. He was also preceded in death by his grandparents, Myrtle and Lafe Mays, and five brothers. He is survived by four brothers, Melvin Jr. Fetty of Blue Rock, Ohio, Dolford Petty of Ohio, Leonard Fetty of Phoenix, Ariz., and John Fetty of Alpena, Mich.; four sisters, Netta Clagg and Nila Beeler, both of Huntington, Nancy Armstrong of Prichard, W.Va., and Virginia Allen of Mason County; one special brother-in-law, Elmer Armstrong; one special aunt, Rena Peyton of Ona; one special uncle, Clifford Mays. of Huntington; and a host of nieces, nephews and friends. Wallace Funeral Home, Barboursville, was in charge of arrangements.

Carolyn “Sue” Pinson Mitchell
Carolyn “Sue” Pinson Mitchell, 56, of Barboursville, passed away March 3, 2006, in St. Mary’s Medical Center. Funeral services were conducted Monday, March 6, 2006 at 2 p.m. at the Wallace Funeral Home, Milton, by the Rev. Richard Black. Burial in White Chapel Memorial Gardens. She was born May 27, 1949, in Huntington, a daughter of Edythe Watson Pinson of Milton, and the late Otho Pinson. She was preceded in death by one brother, Danny Otho Pinson. She is survived by her husband, Bernard Mitchell; one daughter, Crystal Mitchell; one sister, Rosemary Perry of Milton; two brothers, Calvin Lee Pinson of Milton and Edward Evan Pinson of Virginia. Wallace Funeral Home, Milton, was in charge of arrangements.

Burgess Pack
Burgess Pack, 85, of Ona, died Saturday, March 4, 2006. Services were conducted at 11 a.m., Monday, March 6, 2006, at the White Chapel Memorial Gardens Mausoleum with the Rev. Craig Coster. He was born April 18, 1920, in Dunlow, W.Va.., a son of the late Jay and Hessie Meade Pack. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Ruth Pack. lie He was a veteran of World War II serving in the U.S. Army. He is survived by three stepdaughters, Deloris Hayner of Willow Wood, Ohio, Jane Geisler of Paris, Ky., and and Karol Rush of Winston Salem, N.C.; one stepson, James Smith of Huntington; and a very close friend, Don Brotherton of Ona. There was no visitation. Wallace Funeral Home, Barboursville, was in charge of arrangements.

Delilah Alice Sevy
Delilah Alice Sevy, 85, of Ona, passed away Friday, March 3, 2006, in Teays Valley Center, Hurricane. Funeral services were conducted 2 p.m. Tuesday at Heck Funeral Home with Pastor Paul Meadows officiating. Burial in Forest Memorial Park, Milton. Delilah was born Oct. 22, 1920, in Cabell County, a daughter of the late Henry and Garnet Floyd Colegrove. She is also preceded in death by her husband Leancie “Lee” Sevy and one son, John E. Sevy. She was a member of Beulah Ann Missionary Baptist Church. She is survived by one sister, Ruth Adkins Sevy; one niece, Carolyn Smith and her husband Barry; one nephew, Bill Sevy and his wife Nancy. Elizabeth J. McCurdy
Elizabeth J. McCurdy, 96, of Barboursville, formerly of Huntington, passed away Tuesday, February 28, 2006. She was preceded in death by her husband of 68 years, Okey I. McCurdy; her parents, James M. and Hester Rogers; a brother, Robert Rogers; a sister, Jessie Irwin and a daughter, Betty Ann Taylor. She is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Carl and Helen McCurdy of Roanoke, Va., and a very special son-in-law “her buddy,” Carl G. Taylor of Huntington; three grandsons, Kevin McCurdy and wife Leah of Charlottesville, Va., Keith McCurdy and wife Jacquelyn of Roanoke, Va., and Allen Taylor and wife Merrily of Milton; five granddaughters, Carla Bream and husband Mike, Susan Childs and husband Chris, Laura Moore and husband Paul, all of Roanoke, Va., Linda Dowdy and husband Doug of South Point, Ohio, Barbara Ball and husband Gary of Huntington and 11 great-grandchildren. Elizabeth was a member of Tucker Memorial Baptist Church for more than 65 years and Pastor Charles McCormick conducted the funeral service on Saturday, March 4, 2006, at Chapman’s Mortuary, Huntington. Interment followed at Greenbottom Cemetery where she was laid to rest beside her late husband.
