Glen Edwin Kimes, 85, of Parkersburg, passed
away Oct. 22, 2012, at his home unexpectedly.
He was born Dec. 27, 1926 at Belleville,
W.Va., a son of the late Herschel E. Kimes Sr.
and Oma E. Smith Kimes. He was a 1945 graduate
of Parkersburg High School and the Cincinnati
(Ohio) College of Mortuary Science. He was a
licensed West Virginia funeral director since
1950, and was co-owner and operator of Kimes
Funeral Home with his brother, Herschel Jr.
for many years. He was a long time member of
Trinity U.M. Church, having attended there
since the age of five, a member of the
Goodwill Sunday School Class and the United
Methodist Men. He was a former member of the
West Virginia and the Little Kanawha Funeral
Director's Associations and had served in the
U.S. Army Peacekeeping Forces at the end of
World War II. He enjoyed traveling and
spending winter months at their home in
DeLand, Fla. He also enjoyed going out to eat
with friends and family and talking and joking
with people.
Surviving are three sons, Larry G. (Peggy)
Kimes, Steven H. (Debby) Kimes and David A.
Kimes and one daughter, Janet L. Kimes, all of
Parkersburg; one step-son, Steve (Linda) Perry
of Washington; four step-daughters, Carolyn
(Bob) Bernosky of Reynoldsburg, Ohio, Marty
(Fred) Hamilton of Washington, Pam Perry of
Parkersburg and Sandy (Garry) Murray of
Parkersburg; grandchildren, D. Bradley
(Kristy) Kimes, Robert C. (Randi Lea) Kimes,
Jenifer (Brian) Ault, Angela (Tony) Mohwish,
Amy (Philip) Newbanks and April (Jay)
Shreeves, Andy (Lenee) Hartleben, Kerri

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in
death by his loving wife of 36 years, Juanita
F. Parsons Perry Kimes in 2011; three sisters,
Jenoise Kimes Pratt, Joyce Kimes Wilson and
Joanna Kimes.
The funeral service will be conducted at 11
a.m. Friday at Trinity U.M. Church, 10th
Avenue and Thomas Street in south Parkersburg.
Rev. David Stilgenbauer will officiate and
burial will follow at Evergreen South
Cemetery. The visitation will be from 2-8 p.m.
Thursday at Kimes Funeral Home, 521 5th St.,
Parkersburg, and at the church one hour prior
to the service on Friday.
William Michael (Bill) Brannon
Parkersburg, WV
William Michael "Bill" Brannon, 68, of
Parkersburg, passed away Oct. 20, 2012, at
Camden Clark Medical Center, Memorial Campus.
He was born Oct. 16, 1944, at Camden, N.J., a
son of the late William Ernest and Janie
Geraldine Baker Brannon.
Bill had worked as an operating engineer and
had served two tours of duty in the Vietnam
War. He was a member of the VFW, the DAV and he
enjoyed singing karaoke.
Surviving are two sons, Michael E. Brannon of
Elizabeth and Captain John Gregory "Greg"
Brannon, serving with the U.S. Army in
Afghanistan; a daughter, Jennifer Brannon of
Parkersburg; two grandchildren, Emily Brannon
and Alexandria Brannon; and two brothers, David
R. Brannon and Ronald L. Brannon, both of
Parkersburg.
There will be no services and no visitation.

William Parren (Bill) Pierce
Vienna, WV
William Parren "Bill" Pierce, 74, of Vienna,
passed away Oct. 17, 2012, at the Marietta
Care and Rehabilitation Center.
He was born Dec. 6, 1937, in Wood County, a
son of the late Harold and Oddie Bibbee Pierce.
He retired from DuPont with 34 years of
service. He enjoyed bluegrass music, his farm,
hunting and fishing and was a Mountaineer
Football fan.
Surviving is his wife of 54 years, Dorothy
Barker Pierce, one son, Timothy D. (Penny)
Pierce of Mineral Wells; one brother, Rodger
(Jane) Pierce of Townville, S.C. He is also
survived by several nieces and nephews; many
good friends and his grand puppy whom he
loved, Bodie.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in
death by an infant sister; and two half-
brothers, Charles Bibbee and Junior Bibbee.
The funeral service will be 11 a.m. Saturday
at Kimes Funeral Home, 521 Fifth Street,
Parkersburg. Rev. Brian Long will officiate
and burial will follow at the Pond Creek
Baptist Church Cemetery. The visitation will
be from 4-8 p.m. today.
Mary Virginia Schultz Bibbee
Hope Hill, Parkersburg, WV
Mary Virginia Schultz Bibbee, 75, of Hope Hill
Road passed away Oct. 17, 2012, at her home.
She was born June 19, 1937 in Wood County, a
daughter of the late Harold Alva (Harry)
Schultz and Clara Pearl Marty Schultz.
She was a member of the 36th Street Church of
Christ and was a former employee with G.E.
Plastics.
She was a homemaker and enjoyed sewing,
cooking, gardening and canning.
She is survived by two sons, Mark A. (Marsha)
Roberts of Vienna and Steven E. (Rhonda)
Roberts of Ravenswood; two daughters, Brenda
J. (Scott) Smith of Catawba, N.C. and Rebecca
Ann (Brian) Pasch of Sunrise, Fla.; a stepson,
Evangelist Kevin (Kamy) Bibbee of Hickory,
N.C. and a stepdaughter, Pamela (Rick) Kellar
of Williamstown; three grandchildren, Paul
Roberts, Jasmine Roberts and Timothy Roberts;
four stepgrandchildren, Christopher Kellar,
Megan, Kaylan, and Morgan Bibbee; three great
grandchildren, Blake, Vicky and Kensen
Roberts; one brother, Jack (Myrna) Schultz of

in death by her husbands, Raymond Eugene
Dowler and Charles E. "Chuck" Bibbee; two
sisters, Ora Belle Bosley Powell and Laura
Jean Cooper.

Kimes Funeral Home, 521 Fifth Street,
Parkersburg, Evangelist Mark Mason will
officiate. Burial will follow at the Pleasant
Hill Cemetery. The visitation will be from 4-8

Dwindola P. (Dwin) Prunty Metz
Parkersburg, WV
Dwindola P. "Dwin" Prunty Metz, 83, of
Parkersburg, passed away Oct. 14, 2012, at her
home.
She was born May 26, 1929 in Ritchie County, a
daughter of the late Paul Prunty and Maude
Rexroad Frederick. She was a member of the
Apostolic Pentecostal Church and was a
homemaker who loved spending time with her
family, especially her grandchildren.
Surviving are two sons, Bruce (Marcia) Metz of
Belpre and Barry (Lori) Metz of Danbury,
Conn.; two daughters, Blossom (George) Davis
of Virginia Beach, Va. and Robin (Wendell)
Flowers of St. Marys; daughter-in-law,
Virginia Metz of Middletown, Pa.; eight
grandchildren, Patrick Metz, Tyler Metz,
Justin Bocksnick, Jason Bocksnick, Kimberly
Gandee, Jodie Mullins, Amanda Davis and Emily
Metz; nine great-grandchildren, Bryan, Adam,
Bryce, Brett, Evan, Jacob, Carson, Allison and
Saraya; four brothers, Charles Prunty of
Williamstown, Okey "Bud" Prunty and Jack
Prunty, both in Ohio and Michael Frederick in
Florida; three sisters, Clara Crum in Ohio,
Patty Amos of Parkersburg and Sue Renforth of
Washington, W.Va.; and many nieces and
nephews. In addition to her parents, she was
preceded in death by her husband, Donald G.
Metz; and two sons, Steven Metz and Don C.
Metz.

Street, Parkersburg; her nephew, Pastor
Phillip Prunty will officiate and burial will
follow at Mt. Olivet Cemetery. The visitation
will be from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. today.

Madge Lee Gilmore
Belleville, WV
Madge Lee Gilmore, 78, of the Pond Creek
community of Belleville, passed away Oct. 12,
2012, at her daughter's home, where she had
been residing.
She was born July 12, 1934, at Ellenboro, a
daughter of the late Knolls and Alma Lucinda
Wince Brooks. She was a homemaker and enjoyed
spending time with her family.
Surviving are three sons, Edward Curtis
Gilmore of Pennsboro, Jonathan Richard
(Marianne) Gilmore of Norfolk, Va. and Gary
Randall (Lois) Gilmore of Harrisville; five
daughters, Lisa (Mark) Townsend of Pond Creek,
Deborah (Tom) Leggett of Harrisville, Barbara
Jean (John) Stephens of Glen St. Mary, Fla.,
Tina (Gordon) Huffman of King, N.C. and Trudy
(Tim) Lindow of Pullman, W.Va.; and numerous
grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-
great-grandchildren. She was the last
surviving member of her immediate family. In
addition to her parents, she was preceded in
death by her husband, Russell E. Gilmore; a
son, Terry Lynn Gilmore; a daughter, Peggy
Darlene Keith; a grandson, Aaron Michael
Gilmore; and a granddaughter, Abigail Hodge.
A private memorial service will be held at the
convenience of the family.
