He was preceded in death by his father,
Charles Still; and mother, Blondenia Still. He
is survived by his sister, Patricia Ann Casto
and Wallace her husband of Spencer, W.Va.;
nephew, Buddy Wilson; and nieces, Becky Wilson
and Sonya Dejesus.
Thomas attended Williamstown High School. He
was a veteran. He worked at Shoney's as a cook
for 17 years, and with those skills he opened
up his home for Thanksgiving and Christmas
meals to those who had no place to go. He
always had a smile and loved life. He is
celebrating life now at home, with the Lord
Jesus in Heaven.
A memorial service will be held 11 a.m. on
Oct. 27, at Word of Faith Fellowship Church in
Spencer, W.Va.
Donations will be given to the Kenya Missions
program at Word of Faith Church.
Elton Edward Jones
Parkersburg, WV
Elton Edward Jones, 73, of Parkersburg, passed
away peacefully Tuesday, Oct. 9, 2012, after a
courageous battle at Riverside Hospital in
Columbus, Ohio, surrounded by his family.
He was born Feb. 29, 1939 in Rawlins County,
Kansas, a son to Vernon Jones and the late
Fern Andrews Jones.
He was a graduate from Jennings High School in
Jennings, Kansas in 1958. He served in the
Army part of the elite (STRAC-Strategic Army
Corps) in the first Howitzer Battalion, 30th
Artillery, Company B, 4th Infantry Division at
Fort Lewis, Washington. From the time he was a
little boy, he was a farmer and helped his
father out on the farm in Kansas. After his
move to Texas, he became a truck driver for
several years. He then spent the majority of
his working years as a diesel mechanic and
business owner. After he retired, he enjoyed
spending time with his family and watching his
granddaughters play soccer. He volunteered as
the groundskeeper for Tri-C Soccer for several
years, ensuring all the kids had a great place
to play the game he grew to love. He was the
true definition of a survivor and an
inspiration of how the human spirit can
overcome almost anything.
He was preceded in death in 1996 by his wife,
Mary Etta (Chenoweth) Jones after they enjoyed
nearly 32 years of marriage. He was also
preceded by his mother, Fern Jones and one
sister-in-law Beulah Jones.
He is survived by one son, Russell (Brenda)
Jones of Lubeck, W.Va.; two daughters, Mary
Jane Jones of Washington, W.Va., Kristal
(Marc) Velazquez of Asheboro, N.C.; his
father, Vernon Jones of Norton, Kansas;
brother George Jones of Norton, Kansas; two
sisters, Judy Jones of Norton, Kansas, Mary
Katherine (Kenny) Campbell of Dearing, Kansas
and one brother-in-law, Robert Lee Chenoweth
of Morris Plains, N.J.
He is also survived by seven grandchildren,
Kirsten Jones of Lubeck, Allison Jones of
Lubeck, James (Crystal) Montgomery of
Parkersburg, Rachael Montgomery of
Parkersburg, Josh, Sandi, and Joey Velazquez
of Asheboro, N.C.; four great-grandchildren,
Blake Montgomery, Skyler Montgomery, Natalie
Williams, and Nathan Montgomery, all of
Parkersburg, and several nieces and nephews.
The family would like to thank the entire
Lubeck community that took him in and helped
him get through his daily life. He was really
appreciative of all your compassion and always
spoke kindly about all of you.
A military service will be Friday, Oct. 12, at
11 a.m. at Kimes Funeral Home, 521 Fifth
Street, Parkersburg, with Pastor Mike
Broadwater of Bethany United Methodist
officiating. Burial will follow at the Mount
Olivet Cemetery. The visitation will be from 2-
4 and 6-8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
Linda Lee Midcap Rader
Parkersburg, WV
Linda Lee Midcap Rader, 65, of Parkersburg,
W.Va., passed away after a long illness on
Oct. 5, 2012, at the Cleveland Clinic.
She was born Nov. 1, 1946, in Parkersburg, a
daughter of the late Clarence and Roxie Elson
Midcap.
She was a graduate of Parkersburg High School
and was a member of Boaz Baptist Church. Her
favorite pasttimes were going to the Big Red
football games, spending time with her two
granddaughters, Lindsey and Megan, and her
great-nephew, Austin, and getting together
with family.
Surviving is her son, Greg (Lisa) Midcap of
Vienna; her granddaughters, Lindsey and Megan
Midcap of Vienna; her sister, Sharon Armour of
Parkersburg; and several nieces, nephews and
cousins.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded
in death by her husband, Richard (Dick) Rader;
sisters, Zelma Haught and Garnet DeLancey
James; and her brothers, Paul Midcap and
Delbert (Bob) Midcap.
The family would like to express gratitude for
the dedication and compassionate care provided
by Dr. William Tomlinson and the staff and
physicians at the Cleveland Clinic; the
support from Bill Marshall in getting her to
many appointments; the support from the Rev.
Bob Alfred and the Boaz Baptist congregation;
and the support and prayers of family and
friends.
The funeral service will be 2 p.m. Tuesday at
Kimes Funeral Home, 521 Fifth St.,
Parkersburg. Pastor Bob Alfred will officiate
and burial will follow at Mt. Olivet Cemetery.
The visitation will be 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m.
Monday and one hour prior to the service on
Tuesday.
Devin Neil Kays
Parkersburg, WV
Devin Neil Kays, 3, of Parkersburg, passed
away Oct. 3, 2012, at Ruby Memorial Hospital
in Morgantown.
He was born July 13, 2009, in Parkersburg, the
son of Jessy Thomas Kays and Natisha Dawn
Stephens Kays.
Surviving are his parents; a brother, Nathan
Kays, and a sister, Kimberly Kays, both of
Parkersburg; maternal grandparents, Edward
Stephens of Parkersburg and Mylitta White of
North Carolina; paternal grandparents, Thomas
Kays and Gwen Spoto, both of Parkersburg;
paternal great-grandmother, Ethel Kays of
Washington state; and several aunts, uncles
and cousins.
He was preceded in death by a cousin, Shawna
Lemon.
Devin was a typical 3-year-old boy, with a
wonderful smile and beautiful blue eyes. He
enjoyed books and having books read to him,
playing with cars, action figures, blocks,
pounding on the piano, running around the
house and yard, laughing and playing with his
brother and sister. He loved peanut butter and
hot dogs, and made such a mess eating his
first ice cream cone! He enjoyed riding some
rides at this summer's Parkersburg Homecoming
Carnival. He was loved by many and will be
greatly missed.
The funeral service for Devin will be 11 a.m.
Tuesday at Kimes Funeral Home, 521 Fifth St.,
Parkersburg. Burial will follow at Evergreen
South Cemetery. The visitation will be 2-8
p.m. Monday.

Robert "Bob" Arthur Kiester
St. Marys, WV
Robert "Bob" Arthur Kiester, 85, of St. Marys,
(Grape Island), died at the home of his
daughter, Renee, following a battle with
cancer.
Bob, born at Grape Island, was the son of the
late Arthur and Mabel Steere Kiester. He
graduated from St. Marys High School in 1945.
Following high school Bob enlisted in the U.S.
Navy, serving on the USS Mount McKinley, which
participated in the testing for the atomic
bomb. After the war, he worked at American
Cyanamid and Consolidated Aluminum (Ormet).
Bob was a member of Dewey Avenue Church of
Christ, serving as a songleader for 63 years.
He enjoyed playing the baritone in the St.
Marys Community Band. His favorite Friday
night activity was going to sings held at
different churches of Christ throughout the
Mid-Ohio Valley.
He is survived by his wife of over 63 years,
Colleen; one daughter, Renee (John) Buckley
Rockhold; two grandsons, Kane Kiester and Alex
Buckley; one sister, Ruth (Phil) Bayer;
brother-in-law, Maurice (Barbara) Smith; and
sister-in-law, Barbara (Jim) Cox. Preceding
him in death, besides his parents, is his son,
Rodney Kiester; son-in-law, Marvin Buckley;
and a niece, Crista Eldredge.
Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Friday at
Dewey Avenue Church of Christ, 701 Dewey Ave.,
St. Marys, WV 26170. Burial to follow at
I.O.O.F. Cemetery in St. Marys. Visitation is
2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. Thursday at the Dewey
Avenue church building and one hour prior to
the service on Friday.
