David E. Menges, 65, of Washington, W.Va.,
passed away Sept. 12, 2012, at his home, under
the care of Housecalls Hospice.
He was born Dec. 12, 1946, at Sistersville,
W.Va., a son of the late Emuel W. and Mary E.
Wagner Menges.
David was a member of the Lauckport United
Methodist Church and was retired from DuPont
with 38 years of service. He was a U.S. Army
veteran of the Vietnam War, was a member of
the Disabled American Veterans, a devoted
family man and an avid equestrian.
He is survived by his wife, Nancy Hewitt
Menges, and their son, Scott (Cindie) Menges
of Washington, W.Va.; one granddaughter,
Abigail Menges; two brothers, Tom (Mary)
Menges of Norwood, Ohio and Jim (Sandy) Menges
of Friendly, W.Va.; one sister, Kathy (Gene)
Johnston of Fairview, W.Va., and several
nieces and nephews.
He is also survived by in-laws, Richard
(Donna) Hewitt, Ron Hewitt, and Ina V. (Butch)
Ellison, all of Parkersburg, Jim Hewitt of
Belpre, and Jenny (Bill) Lowers of Davisville.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in
death by his mother-in-law that he loved as
his own, Edna Hewitt.
The funeral service will be at 1 p.m. Saturday
at the Lauckport United Methodist Church on
Camden Avenue, Rev. Ken Nolan, Rev. Norman
Butler and Evangelist Tom Menges will
officiate and entombment will follow at Sunset
Memory Gardens with military rites provided by
American Legion Post #15. Escort will be
provided by The Patriot Guard Riders.
The visitation will be at Kimes Funeral Home,
521 Fifth St., today, from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m.
and one hour prior to the service at the
church on Saturday.
The family would like to thank the third floor
North Nursing Staff at CCMC-St. Joseph's
Campus for the care given to David.

Gordon Barrett Tracewell
Parkersburg, WV
Gordon Barrett Tracewell, 89, of Parkersburg,
passed away Sept. 11, 2012, at Camden Clark
Medical Center, Memorial Campus.
He was born May 21, 1923 in Parkersburg, a son
of the late Fred Lutellis Tracewell and Ethel
Hines Tracewell. Gordon was a member of St.
Paul United Methodist Church and was retired
from Ogden Newspapers as a production manager
with the Parkersburg Sentinel. He was a U.S.
Army veteran of World War II, having served
with the 10th Mountain Division. He was a
member of the American Legion, the Elks and
the Moose Lodge. He enjoyed woodworking and
delivering "Meals on Wheels".
Surviving is his wife, Lorraine "Irene" Neal
Tracewell; two daughters, Rebecca Kay "Becky"
Clinton of Tucson, Ariz. and Cathy Elaine
(Dan) Sullivan of Chapel Hill, N.C.; five
grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; one
brother, Steve (Patty) Tracewell of Torch,
Ohio; and several nieces and nephews. In
addition to his parents, he was preceded in
death by three brothers, Fred, Richard and
Larry Tracewell; and three sisters, Betty
Thrash, Frances McMillon and Enid Davis.
It was Mr. Tracewell's request to be cremated
with no service and no visitation. Burial of
his ashes will be at the convenience of the
family.

American Legion Post #15 of Parkersburg.

Lillian Lucille Coe Lemon
Williamstown, WV
Lillian Lucille Coe Lemon, 98, of Williamstown
Pike, passed away Sept. 2, 2012, at her home.
She was born March 14, 1914, at Rockport,
W.Va., a daughter of the late William and
Dixie Counts Coe.
She retired from Camden Clark Medical Center
as head of the housekeeping department and was
a member of the Executive Housekeeping
Association. She enjoyed reading, flowers,
walking and her grandchildren.
Survivors include her son, Leland L. (Betty
L.) Lemon of Williamstown; three
grandchildren, Mark (Edith) Lemon of
Williamstown, Dale (Jodi) Lemon of St. Marys
and Beth (Robert) Stanley of Parkersburg; six
great-grandchildren, LeAnn (Justin) Bennett of
Williamstown, Nicole Lemon of Vienna, Matthew
(Amy Grimm) Sexton of Pittsburgh, Pa., Marlee
Sexton of Morgantown, Shawn Lemon of
Huntington and Katie Lemon of St. Marys; one
great-great-grandchild, Jackson Bennett of
Williamstown; two brothers, Walter (Delores)
Coe of San Antonio, Texas, and Harry (Twila)
Coe of Belpre; one sister, Kathryn Tolley of
Chesapeake, Va.; and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded
in death by her husband, Gilbert E. Lemon in
1980; three brothers, Gerald Coe, Counts Coe
and Willard Coe; three sisters, Lenora Hansen,
Polly Bradley and Irene Johnson; two
stepbrothers; and three stepsisters.
The family would like to express their thanks
to her caregivers, Cathy Stanley and Jill Paul
for the wonderful care shown to her during her
illness.
There will be a graveside service at 2:30 p.m.
Tuesday at Evergreen North Cemetery. Pastor
Chad Mugrage will officiate and burial will
follow. The family will receive visitors at
Kimes Funeral Home, 521 Fifth St.,
Parkersburg, on Tuesday from 1-1:30 p.m.
before preceding to the cemetery.

Patricia Linn Toncray
Parkersburg, WV
Patricia Linn Toncray, 56, of Parkersburg,
passed away Aug. 29, 2012, at Camden Clark
Medical Center, St. Joseph's Campus.
She was born March 15, 1956 at Grantsville,
W.Va., a daughter of the late Lina Kersey
Blosser.
She is survived by two sons Richard and Robert
Toncray; three daughters Carla Wells, Crystal
Buskirk, and Vera Boyles; two brothers; 15
grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
Preceding her in death in addition to her
mother is her step father Okey H. Blosser.
Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Monday
at Kimes Funeral Home, 521 Fifth Street,
Parkersburg, with Pastor Randy Cox
officiating. The family will receive friends
from 6:30 until 8 p.m. Sunday at the funeral
home.
Dorothy Mae Smith
Parkersburg, WV
Dorothy Mae Smith, 96, of Parkersburg, passed
away Aug. 29, 2012, at Parkersburg Care and
Rehabilitation.
She was born March 7, 1916 at Belleville,
W.Va., a daughter of the late David
Walton "Babe" Sams and Mary Ruth Sellers Sams.
She was a longtime member of the Serepta
Baptist Church, had worked at the DuPont Cafe
and was a homemaker.
Survivors include three sons Dale Raymond
Smith of Wadesville, Gary Lee (Deanna) Smith
of Belleville, and Ronald E. (Claudia F.)
Smith of Rockport; one daughter Bertha E.
(Robert) Curfman of Rockport; two brothers,
Charles Sams of Vienna and Clarence Sams of
Stewart, Ohio; one sister, Lucille Mahaffey of
Parkersburg; 22 grandchildren; several great
and great-great-grandchildren and many nieces
and nephews.
In addition to her parents, preceding her
death are two husbands Elzie Smith and
Clarence Smith; four sons Edwin, Neal, Howard,
and Ronnie Smith; one daughter Betty Smith;
two grandchildren; nine brothers and sisters,
Vernice, Robert, Floyd, Leonard, Richard,
Blaine and Raynard Sams, Alice Mahaffey and
Pauline Bolin, and a daughter-in-law Shirley
Smith.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Monday
at Kimes Funeral Home, 521 Fifth Street,
Parkersburg, with Pastors Jim Eakle and Lloyd
Winans officiating. Burial will follow at the
Wigal Cemetery at Wadesville. The family will
receive visitors from 4-8 p.m. Sunday at the
funeral home and one hour prior to services on
Monday.
