John Mckeever Wolf
Parkersburg, WV

John McKeever Wolf, 80, of Parkersburg, passed
away Aug. 28, 2012, at Camden Clark Medical
Center-Memorial Campus.

He was born Jan. 17, 1932 at Sewickley, Pa., a
son of the late John Edward Wolf and Sylvia
Lucille Finch Wolf. Before settling in
Parkersburg, he had lived in Freedom, Pa.,
Glenville, Weston, and Clarksburg, W.Va.

John retired from Storck Baking Company with
33 years of service as assistant manager of
sales and was a United States Army Veteran of
the Korean War; he also attended the
Washington United Methodist Church.

Surviving is his wife of 57 years, Priscilla
Sergeant Wolf; two sons, and daughters-in-law,
Brian and Nancy Riffle Wolf, John and Tammy
Sanders Wolf, of Parkersburg; one daughter,
Sylvia Wolf Munching of Parkersburg; two
brothers, William Wolf (Charlene) of Baton
Rouge, La. and Donald Wolf of Rochester, Pa.;
three granddaughters, Hollie Wolf of
Parkersburg, Christina Munchining Bollinger
(Ryan) of Leland, N.C., and Erica Wolf of
Parkersburg; four grandsons, Christopher Wolf
(Allison), of Huntington, John Andrew Wolf,
Aaron Munching and Mathew Munching of
Parkersburg; one great-granddaughter, Kylea
Dowler Bollinger, and one great-grandson,
Oliver Bollinger of Leland, N.C., and several
nieces and nephews.

Preceding him in death is his parents.

Funeral services will be held Saturday at
10:30 a.m. at Kimes Funeral Home, 521 Fifth
St., Parkersburg, with Pastor David Calvert
officiating, burial will follow at Evergreen
North Cemetery. The family will receive
visitors from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Friday at the
funeral home and one hour prior to the
services.

Bertha Watford
Parkersburg, WV

Bertha Watford, 95, of Parkersburg, passed
away Aug. 26, 2012, at her home.

She was born Feb. 18, 1917, at Pleasantville,
N.J. She was a Protestant and homemaker.

She is survived by a son-in-law, Robert Weimer
Jr.; three sons, Donald Raymond Jones, Walter
Donald Jones and William Watford Jr.; two
daughters, Cecilia Rund and Sharon Stephens;
and several grandchildren.

Preceding her in death was a husband, Raymond
Roy Stephens; and a daughter, Sheila Weimer.

Funeral services will be 2:30 p.m. Sunday at
Kimes Funeral Home, 521 Fifth St.,
Parkersburg, with Pastor Mike Towner
officiating. Burial will follow at Mt. Olivet
Cemetery. The family will receive visitors
from 5-7 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.

Lawrence V Burgy
Parkersburg, WV

Lawrence V. Burgy, 81, of Parkersburg, passed
away Aug. 25, 2012, at the Eagle Point Nursing
Facility, following a brief illness.

He was born in Wood County on May 18, 1931, a
son of the late Joseph C. and Lue Ella Yoho
Burgy. He retired from Eramet with over 25
years of service. He was a U.S. veteran of the
Korean War and he enjoyed hunting.

He is survived by four nieces, Deborah Burgy
of Columbus, Ohio, Diana Donohoe of Mt.
Sterling, Ohio, Candace Albright of Grove
City, Ohio and Cynthia Brigner of Grand
Junction, Colo.; and one nephew, Michael Burgy
of Columbus, Ohio. He is also survived by many
other relatives and friends including special
friends, Robert Hendricks and Mak and Joyce
Shupe. In addition to his parents, he was
preceded in death by a brother, Delbert Burgy.

The funeral service will be held at 2 p.m.
Saturday at Kimes Funeral Home, 521 Fifth
Street, Parkersburg. Burial will follow at the
Gates Ridge Cemetery with military rites
provided by the American Legion Post 15 of
Parkersburg. The visitation will be from noon
until service time on Saturday.

Memorial donations can be made to American
Legion Post 15.

Donald R Dawson
Parkersburg, WV

Donald R. "Don" Dawson, 81, of Parkersburg,
passed away Aug. 17, 2012, at Camden Clark
Medical Center, Memorial Campus.

He was born Dec. 22, 1930 in Wood County, a
son of the late Arza and Hallie Miller Dawson.
He attended Gates Ridge United Methodist
Church, where he had taught the adult Sunday
School Class and he retired from DuPont in
1992. He was known as a fix it man, being able
to repair most anything.

He is survived by his wife, Dora Thompson
Dawson; one son, Donald E. "Donnie" (Lois)
Dawson of Pettyville; one daughter, Linda D.
Province of Parkersburg; a step-son, Terry
(Marla) Life of Mineral Wells; son-in-law,
John E. Carder of Parkersburg; five
grandchildren, Eric (Amanda) Life, Tracie
(Hunter) Sams, Travis (Jenifer) Carder, Paul
(Ashley) Province and Adam (Sunni) Province;
and seven great-grandchildren, Noah Life,
Brantley Sams, Wyatt Province, Austin
Province, Peyton Province, Kelsey Eagle and
Kaylyn Wigal. He is also survived by a sister-
in-law, Dorothy Dawson; and several nieces and
nephews. In addition to his parents, he was
preceded in death by a step-daughter, Sheila
Carder; brothers, Carl (Dorothy) Dawson and
Herbert (Joan) Dawson; and a sister, Ethel
(Charles) McMurray.

The funeral service will be conducted at 2
p.m. Monday at Kimes Funeral Home and burial
will follow at Evergreen North Cemetery. The
visitation will be on Sunday from 2-8 p.m.

Memorial contributions may be made to the
Alzheimer's Association.

Charles Dixon Grady
Parkersburg, WV

Charles Dixon Grady, 82, of Parkersburg,
passed away Aug. 11, 2012, at Camden Clark
Medical Center, Memorial Campus.

He was born Nov. 12, 1929, at Spencer, W.Va.,
a son of the late Ronald Grady and Beatrice
Hicks Grady.

Charles retired from the West Virginia
Department of Highways as a supervisor and was
a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War.

Survivors include three sons, Charles D. Grady
Jr. of Parkersburg, Jeff (Tisha) Grady of New
Mexico and Richard "Rick" Schaffer of
Parkersburg; one daughter, Beatrice "Bea"
(Gary) Smith of Parkersburg; two brothers, Don
(Donna) Grady of Parkersburg and Kenny Grady
of Vienna; eight grandchildren; and 10 great-
grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in
death by his wife, Virginia Lamp Grady; one
son, Troy Grady; and a brother, Robert Grady.

The family will receive visitors Monday from 2-
8 p.m. at Kimes Funeral Home and Cremation
Services, 521 Fifth St., Parkersburg.

Lynda Carole Mills
parkersburg, WV

Lynda Carole Mills, 66, of Parkersburg,
departed this life on Aug. 7, 2012, following
a brave fight with cancer.

She was born in Wood County on April 9, 1946,
a daughter of Isabelle Rose Spence of
Parkersburg and the late George M. Spence.
Lynda was a 1964 graduate of Parkersburg High
School and she had worked at the Parkersburg
News and Sentinel and the Dils Brothers
Department Store. She was a member of the Lynn
Street Church of Christ.

Surviving is her husband of 40 years, Larry
Dean Mills; two sons, Douglas Dean (Alisha)
Mills and Jeffrey Todd (Jenny) Mills;
grandchildren, Carter and Jackson Mills and
Kali and Makensi Carole Mills; sisters, Joyce
(Mike) Bowser and Beverly Sue (Mike) Mollohan;
and brother-in-law, Larry Stoops. In addition
to her father, she was preceded in death by a
sister, Carolyn Stoops.

The funeral service will be held at 1 p.m.
Friday at Kimes Funeral Home, 521 Fifth St.,
Parkersburg. Evangelist Teddy Tackett will
officiate and burial will follow at Sunset
Memory Gardens. The visitation will be on
Thursday from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. and one
hour prior to the service on Friday.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Lynn
Street Church TV Ministry on Channel 2 at 10
a.m. on Sunday mornings or the Lynn Street
Church of Christ food pantry.
