Joyce Marie Adkins
Joyce Marie Adkins, 69, of Ona went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, February 25, 2006. Funeral services were conducted Wednesday, March 1, 2006, at the Wallace Funeral Home and Chapel, Barboursville, by the Rev. Paul Stevens and the Rev. Russell Donahue. Burial in Forest Memorial Park. She was born on May 4, 1936, in Branchland, W.Va., a daughter of the late Curtis and Arlie Lawson Jeffers. She was a former employee of INCO, Perry Norvell Shoe Factory and Corbin, Ltd. She was saved at Branchland Baptist Church and baptized in Four Mile Creek. She was a member of Midkiff United Methodist Church. She is survived by her husband, Louie H. Adkins; three daughters and sons-in-law, Kim Adkins, Angela and Bobby Rose and Amy and Randy McComas, all of Ona; two sons and daughters-in-law, David and Pam Adkins of Huntington and Ricky and Marsha Adkins of Ona; one brother, Herman Jeffers of Ona; five grandchildren, Chris Dennison, Matthew Adkins, Kayla McComas, Hanna McComas and Travis Rose; special niece, Sabrina Blankenship; special nephews, Barry and Herman Jr., Jeffers. The family would like to thank Hospice of Huntington and the Crisis Team for their care during Joyce’s illness.

Mary Margaret Perry
Mary Margaret Perry, 78, of Milton, W.Va., overcame her battle with Alzheimer’s disease and entered into the loving arms of her Heavenly Father on Sunday, February 26, 2006, at Morris Memorial Convalescent and Nursing Home. Funeral services were conducted Wednesday, March 1, 2006, at Heck Funeral Home, Milton, with the Rev. James Dailey officiating. Burial in Bicker Cemetery, Milton. She was a faithful member of Barker Ridge United Baptist Church and was a retiree of Cabell Huntington Hospital. She was born December 4, 1927 to the late James Ellsworth and Clara Ellen Melvin Langdon. Also preceding her in death were her stepfathers, Henry Jenkins and Wallace Hanson; a brother, Charles Franklin Langdon; three half sisters, Garnet Dailey, Ida Burcham and Marie Langdon; and a half brother, Kenneth A. Jenkins. She is survived by her husband of 63 years, Clifford “Gene” Perry; daughters and sons-in-laws, Carolyn and Curtis Roberts of Lesage, W.Va., Janice and. Henry Tschirhart of Fort Worth, Texas , and Melanie and Philip Stemmer of Catlettsburg, Ky.; sons and daughter-in-law, Vincent Eugene and Kathy Perry of Rome, Ohio and James Bradley and Sharon Perry of Clovis, N.M.; 10 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren. Pallbearers were her grandsons. In lieu of flowers, our family requests that you dedicate a portion of your time to support and encourage a caregiver of a sick or elderly loved one.

Denzil Ray Berry “School Teacher”
Denzil Ray Berry “School Teacher”, 78, of Lesage, W.Va., passed away Monday, February 27, 2006, in the Vineyards of St. Albans. Funeral services were conducted Thursday, March 2, 2006 at the Ferrell-Chambers Funeral Home with Pastor Jackie Clark officiating. Interment in White Chapel Memorial Gardens, Barboursville. Denzil was born June 13, 1927, in Lesage, W.Va., a son of the late Carl and Bertha Bailey Berry. He was a member of the American Legion Post 177 and the VFW Post 9738. Denzil was also a member of the Museum of Radio and Technology Club and The WV Steam and Gas Engine Association. He worked as a truck driver for many years, employed by the Linde division of Union Carbide. Denzil also served his country in the U.S. Army. He was preceded in death by one brother, Randall Berry. He is survived by his loving wife, Hazel Berry of Lesage, W.Va.; one daughter, Lynette Powell and her husband Butch of Kenova, W.Va.; three sons, Larry Berry and his wife Virginia of Lesage, W.Va., Ron Berry and his wife Lois of Huntington, W.Va., and Dr. Duane Berry and his wife Christy of St. Albans, W.Va.; one sister, Maxine Meadows of Lesage, W.Va.; eight grandchildren, Terry Berry (Susan) and Tabitha Snyder (J.J.), all of Lesage, W.Va., Sonya Neale of Barboursville, W.Va., Christine Smith (Joe) of Florida, Jason Bays of Culloden, W.Va., Emily Bays of Kenova, W.Va., Dana and Cassie Berry, both of St. Albans, W.Va.; and 5 great-grandchildren.

Linda Adkins Abel
Linda Adkins Abel, 49, of Council Bluffs, Iowa, formerly of Barboursville, W.Va., passed away Sunday, February 19, 2006, at home. She was born October 18, 1956, in Huntington, W.Va., a daughter of Betty Hastings Adkins of Barboursville and the late Jack Adkins. She was a member of New Horizon Presbyterian Church. In addition to her mother she is survived by her husband of 21 years, Mark Abel; a son, Mark; a daughter, Elizabeth, all of Council Bluffs; three sisters, Deborah Wigton and her husband Robert of Omaha, Neb., Vicky Adkins of Indianapolis, Ind., and Ruth Flint and her husband Jim of Bremerton, Wash.; two brothers, Jack Adkins of St. Petersburg, Fla., and Craig Adkins and his wife Valerie of Barboursville, W.Va.

Glen Tillman Lee
Glen Tillman Lee, 72, of Huntington went home to be with the Lord on Monday, February 27, 2006, at St. Mary’s Medical Center. Funeral services were conducted Thursday, March 2, 2006, at Henson Mortuary, with the Rev. Greg Creasy officiating. Interment in Woodmere Memorial Park, Huntington. He was born May 14, 1933, in Sikeston, Mo., son of the late Edward and Zelda Peyton Lee. He retired from INCO in 1996 with 33 years of service. He was owner of the U.S. Route 60 Texaco station and co-owner of Bolen and Lee Carpet Installation. He was a veteran of the Korean conflict and re-entered the U.S. Army in 1957, stationed at Fort Knox, Ky. He loved attending Marshall University football games. He was a friendly person and no one was a stranger to him. He was a member of American Legion Post 177, Barboursville, whose members served as pallbearers and conduct graveside services. He is survived by his wife, Thoris L. Lee; son Gregory Lee of Huntington; daughters Theresa Gooch of Huntington and Connie Zerkle of Letart, W.Va.; sisters Norma Baker of Sikeston, Mo., and Gladys DeLuca of Willowmatic, Conn.; an uncle, Tony Lee, and several nieces and nephews; grandchildren Justine and Ryan Fields, Jackie, Amanda and Jerod Gooch; and great-grandchildren, Skyler Gooch, Coltin Zerkle and Zack Fields. Mr. Lee’s family would like to express their thanks to Dr. Robert Turner, Dr. Peter Ottaviano, Dr. George Linsenmeyer and the staff of St. Mary’s Medical Center.

Lee Damron Kemp
Lee Damron Kemp, 76, of Barboursville, W.Va., and Port Charlotte, Fla., died Wednesday, February 15, 2006, at the Florida State Veteran’s Nursing Home. She was born October 12, 1929, in Pinsonfork, Ky., and died of lung cancer and Alzheimer’s Disease. She was a decorated United States Army veteran of the Korean War, and was a member of the American Legion and VFW. She owned an advertising firm in Florida. Surviving is her husband, Charles Bonn Kemp of Punta Gorda, Fla.; and a brother, Dannie Damron of Huntington.

Naomi Dunlap
Naomi Dunlap, 80, of Red House, went home to be with the Lord Feb. 27, 2006, at home.
Mrs. Dunlap is a former employee of Fletcher Enamel and West Virginia State College. She is a member of North Charleston Apostolic Church.
She is survived by her husband, Dewell B. Dunlap; five children, Robert and Brenda Dunlap of Red House; Wilma and Gary Smith of Sumerco; Brenda and David Good of Poca; Thomas and Marie Dunlap of Portsmouth, Va., and Douglas Dunlap; six brothers, James Comer of Sandyville; Ben Comer of Rocky Fork; Jackie Comer of Jackson County; Frank Comer of Sissonville; Robert Comer of Charleston, and Eugene Comer of Sissonville; four sisters, Myrle Skeens of Columbus, Ohio; Mary Brown of Alliance, Ohio; Lou Rice of Winfield, and Virgie Dawson of Poca; 18 grandchildren; and 14 great grandchildren.
Funeral services were held 2 p.m. Friday, March 3, at Gatens-Harding Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Anthony Moss and the Rev. Randy Carter officiating. Burial in Wade Chapel Cemetery.
Gatens-Harding Funeral Home, 147 Main St., Poca, was in charge of the arrangements.

Macy Campbell Fisher
Mrs. Macy Campbell Fisher, 94, of Hurricane, formerly of Rainelle, Columbus, Ohio and Huntington, died Tuesday, Feb. 28, 2006 in Teays Valley Nursing Center, Hurricane, following a long illness.
Born May 22,1911, in Pittman, she was a daughter of the late William Lee and Nettie Priscilla Durham Campbell.
A former hotel manager for Brown Hotel, Rainelle, she had also worked for the Meadow River Lumber Company, Rainelle. Mrs. Fisher was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star and First United Methodist Church, Huntington.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Darrell Fisher in 1993; four sisters, Mary Campbell Hughes in 1993, Mable Campbell Simmons in 1978, Hattie Campbell Parker in 1998 and Jean Campbell Settle in 2001; and seven brothers, William Adam “Add” Campbell in1978, Clinton Campbell in 1911, Ralph Campbell in 1993, Alfred Campbell in 1991, John Campbell in1988, Leonard Campbell in 1990 and Herbert Campbell in 1943.
Survivors include one brother and his wife, Kenneth W. and Lucille Campbell of Hurricane, and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held 1 p.m. Saturday, March 4, at Wallace & Wallace Funeral Home, Rainelle, with Pastor Allen Johnson officiating. Burial in the End-of-the-Trail Cemetery, Clintonville.

Malinda Priddy
Malinda Priddy, 91, of Buffalo passed away Tuesday, Feb. 28, 2006, at St. Mary’s Medical Center following a long illness.
She was a lifelong resident of the Buffalo area, a member of Cross Creek Community Church and a cook at Buffalo Elementary School with 20 years of service.
Born Feb. 19, 1915, she was the daughter of the late Wayatt and Ida Nichols. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Oscar R. Priddy; son, Harold E. Priddy; and grandchildren, David A. Craig, Penny K. Martin and Delmas D. Rhodes.
Survivors include daughters, Barbara M. Garrison and Esta Mae Craig, both of Buffalo, Patricia Warner of Westerville, Ohio, Anna S. Craig of Columbus, Ohio, and Virginia B. Rhodes of Buffalo; sons, Emmitt F., Oscar “Scooter,” and Franklin Priddy, all of Buffalo; sister, Stella Epperly of Belle; 19 grandchildren, 26 great-grandchildren and six great-great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Priddy’s services were held Friday, March 3, 2006 at Cross Creek Community Church, Buffalo, with the Rev. Harold Landers officiating. Burial in Cross Creek Church Cemetery.
Raynes Funeral Home, Buffalo, was in charge of arrangements.

Roberta Lynn “Bert” Black
Roberta Lynn “Bert” Black, 49, of Salt Rock, W.Va. passed away February 28, 2006 in Pittsburgh, Pa. Funeral services were conducted Friday, March 3, 2006, the Wallace Funeral Home, Milton, by the Rev. James Jobe. Burial in Enon Cemetery, Salt Rock. She was born October 17, 1956, in Lincoln County, West Virginia, a daughter of Eva Holley Morrison of Glenwood, W.Va., and the late Donald Reed Morrison. Also surviving are her husband, Jack Black; two sons and a daughter-in-law, Kenneth Mae Black and Jack Todd and Tina Black, all of Salt Rock; two grandsons, Austin and Ricky Newman; one granddaughter, Tori Black; sisters, Reba Swann of Barboursville, Debbie Wilson of Huntington, and Alma Chapman of Milton; brothers, Ronald Morrison of Glenwood and Wesley Morrison of Lesage; special friends, Tim and Brenda Bradley and Bobby Saunders. The family would like to thank their friends and family for all of their help during Bert’s illness.

Charles E. Ferrell
Charles E. Ferrell, 61, of Barboursville, passed away Monday, February 27, 2006, at St. Mary’s Medical Center. Funeral services were conducted Friday, March 3, 2006, at the Wallace Funeral Home & Chapel, Barboursville, by Pastor Rick Glass. Burial in Spring Hill Cemetery, Huntington. He was born January 18, 1945, in Branchland, a son of the late Delbert Ferrell Sr., and Ethel Triplett Ferrell. He was a retired Lincoln County Sheriff’s deputy. He was also a veteran of the U.S. Army and served during Vietnam. He was preceded in death by three brothers, Donald, Delbert Jr., and Merida Ferrell and two sisters, Kathleen Dancy and Leah Collins. He is survived by his wife, Phyllis Sizemore Ferrell; two sons, Charles Ferrell Jr., and John Ferrell both of Barboursville; three sisters, Betty Harris of Umatilla Fla., Margaret Burdette of Clendenin, W.Va., and Sue Copley of South Point, Ohio; one brother, Larry Ferrell of Charleston; six grandchildren, Chris, Jonathan, Jordan, Sara, Matthew and Shelby. Pallbearers were Stanley Woods, Danny Green, Johnny Stone, Sherman Canterbury Jr., Lewis Sizemore and Bill Wade.

Nancy C. Ball
Nancy C. Ball, 67, of Scott Depot died February 26, 2006, at SunBridge Care and Rehabilitation Center following a long illness.
She was a member of St. John’s United Methodist Church, Scott Depot.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph R. Ball Sr.
Surviving: sons, Joseph R. Ball Jr., John Curtis, Richard and Ralph Ball; sister, Vicki Voltz; grandchildren, Patrick Mills, Emma, Samuel and Katelynn Ball, Arrow and Nabahe Tewawina; great-grandchild, Ethan Tewawina.
Service was held Thursday, March 2, 2006, at Tyler Mountain Funeral Home, Cross Lanes, with Pastor Mike Rader officiating. Burial was in Tyler Mountain memory Gardens.
