Sandra B. Taylor, 73, of St. Marys, passed
away Jan. 24, 2013.

Private family graveside services will be
Saturday, Feb. 2, 2013.

Kimes Funeral Home & Cremation Services of
Parkersburg is assisting the family.

Ellen Jane Pierce
Townville, SC

Ellen Jane Langford Pierce, 64, of Townville,
S.C., departed this life on Thursday, Jan. 24,
2013.

Jane was born on Sept. 23, 1948, in
Parkersburg, a daughter of the late Orus Carl
and Wilma Ann Heckert Langford.

Jane graduated from St. Marys High School with
the class of 1966. She also graduated from the
Camden Clark School of Nursing in Parkersburg
with the class of 1969 and began a lifelong
career of dedicated nursing at both Camden
Clark Hospital in Parkersburg and the Oconee
Medical Center in Seneca, S.C.

Jane was an active member of Zion United
Methodist Church in Sandy Springs, S.C.

In addition to the many friends she leaves
behind, Jane is survived by her husband, Rodger
Pierce of Townville, S.C.; one son, Gregory
Scott Pierce, and one daughter, Diana Jean
Pierce Prickett and her husband Jason, all of
Sandy Springs, S.C.; Jane is also survived by
five grandsons, Dylan and Mason Pierce, Jacob
Hudson, and Donovan and Samuel Prickett, all of
Sandy Springs, S.C.; one brother, Carl Langford
and his wife Sandy of St. Marys; her twin
sister, Jean Lawrence of Parkersburg and two
other sisters, Sandra Headley of Friendly,
W.Va. and Katherine Malone and her husband Jim
of St. Marys. Also surviving are several nieces
and nephews.

The funeral service will be held at 11 a.m.
Tuesday at Kimes Funeral Home, 521 Fifth
Street, Parkersburg. Pastor Todd Hill will
officiate and burial will follow at Pleasants
Memorial Gardens at Eureka in Pleasants County.

The visitation will be on Monday from 6-8 p.m..

Jane was requesting that memorial donations be
made to the Cancer Association of Anderson,
S.C., c/o 215 East Calhoun St., Anderson, S.C.
29621.

Oma Pearl Jackson (Shepard)
Parkersburg, WV

Oma Pearl Jackson (Shepard), 53, of
Parkersburg, passed away Jan. 18, 2013, at
Camden Clark Medical Center.

She was born Oct. 19, 1959, in Wood County, a
daughter of James Franklin Jackson of Illinois
and Rosella Riggs of Parkersburg.

Oma was a graduate of Parkersburg South High
School, and retired from the Wood County Board
of Education, having worked at Emerson School
for many years. She loved sewing, enjoyed
birds and her dogs, and she loved all animals.

She is survived by her husband, Larry W.
Shepard Jr.; one daughter, Jamie Jackson of
Parkersburg; one son, Earl (Elizabeth) Jackson
of Charleston; two stepsons, Larry (Ashley)
Shepard III of Parkersburg and Derek Shepard
of Hawaii; three grandchildren, Tristen
Terrell and Kyara Jackson, both of
Parkersburg, and Sophia Paige Jackson of
Charleston; two step-grandchildren, Noah and
Jude Shepard of Parkersburg; six brothers,
Bill (Sherry) Hess, Carl Hess and Gary
Jackson, all of Parkersburg, Mike Jackson,
Brian Jackson and Tommy Jackson, all of
Illinois; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her first
husband, Earl Jackson.

The funeral service will be 1 p.m. Tuesday at
Kimes Funeral Home, 521 Fifth St.,
Parkersburg. Pastor Lloyd Winans will
officiate, and burial will follow at Mt.
Pleasant Cemetery in Mineral Wells. The
visitation will be 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. today.

Special thanks to family, friends, nieces and
nephews, the doctors and nurses at Camden
Clark Medical Center, the doctors and nurses
at Ohio State University Hospital, and
Housecalls Hospice Nurses, Teresa Lowe and Amy
Jones.

Shirl Junior Lipscomb
Parkersburg, WV

Shirl Junior "Butch" Lipscomb, 60, of
Parkersburg, passed away Jan. 15, 2013, at his
home.

He was born Aug. 8, 1952, in Wood County, a
son of the late Shirley and Frances Moore
Lipscomb. Butch was employed with the
Salvation Army in the Warehouse for 15 years,
and he liked working on cars.

Surviving are two sons, Shirl "Butchie"
O'Brien of Parkersburg and James Albert
Lipscomb of Roanoke, Va.; two grandchildren,
Brooke Dawn O'Brien and Russell James O'Brien;
one brother, Roger (Pat) Lipscomb of Belmont;
and three sisters, Betty Leek, Johnnie B.
Ferebbee and Mary Hodges, all of Parkersburg.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in
death by a sister, Linda Lipscomb in 2007.

There will be a visitation with viewing from 5-
7 p.m. Thursday, with a brief 7 p.m. service
at Kimes Funeral Home, 521 5th Street,
Parkersburg; Rev. Duane Porter will be
speaking.

Parkersburg is assisting the family.

Vicki Joe Dennis Gheen
Washington, Wv

Vicki Joe Dennis Gheen, 63, of Washington,
W.Va., passed away Jan. 13, 2013, at her home
unexpectedly.

She was born Aug. 1, 1949, in Parkersburg, a
daughter of the late Pearl Leon and Betty
Stewart Dennis. Vicki was a member of the
Williamstown First Baptist Church, and more
recently attended Lubeck Community Baptist
Church. Vicki was a graduate of Parkersburg
High School and The School of Nursing. She was
currently employed at the St. Marys
Correctional Center as the Director of Health
Care Services and was a former employee of
Camden Clark Medical Center and Selby
Hospital. She had also been employed by Dr.
Kenton Harris. She enjoyed watching football,
all types of car racing and enjoyed watching
her nephew play basketball for Parkersburg
South High School.

Surviving is her husband, Clinton J. Gheen;
one son, Patrick (Vicki) Gheen of Vienna; two
brothers, Rev. James Leon (Myra) Dennis of
Hurricane and Douglas Paul (Mary Margaret)
Dennis of Washington; one sister, Saundra Jean
(Jack) Watkins of Delaware; and several nieces
and nephews.

The funeral service for Vicki will be held 1
p.m. Thursday at Kimes Funeral Home, 521 5th
Street, Parkersburg; Rev. Mark Houser will
officiate. Visitation will be 2-4 p.m. and 6-8
p.m. Wednesday.

Memorial contributions may be made to the
Humane Society of Parkersburg.

Faye Evelyn Bailey Cowdery
Belpre, OH

Faye Evelyn Bailey Cowdery, 81, of Belpre, and
a resident of Genesis Health Care in
Sistersville, and a more recent resident of
the Willows for the past two months, passed
away Jan. 13, 2013, at Camden Clark Medical
Center.

She was born Sept. 7, 1931, at Reedsville,
Ohio, a daughter of the late William Bailey
and Rita Margaret Wilson Bailey. She had
attended the Calvary Community Church, and was
a former employee of Barnes Grocery Store and
Vera's Restaraunt. She enjoyed cooking.

Surviving is her son, Stephen B. (Linda Brown)
Cowdery of Seabrook, Texas; one daughter,
Susan (the late Tom) Lemon of Parkersburg;
nine grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren;
brother, Ansil Bailey of Parkersburg; two
sisters, Betty Damron of Ravenna, Ohio and
Ruth Myers of Silver Ridge, Ohio; and several
nieces and nephews. In addition to her
parents, she was preceded in death by her
husband, Dale Cowdery; a daughter, Sharon Jean
Rizer Chambers; four brothers, Donald, Gene,
James and William Bailey; and a sister, Rosie
Bailey.

There will be no funeral service; however,
there will be a visitation with viewing from 5-
7 p.m. Thursday at Kimes Funeral Home, 521
Fifth Street, Parkersburg.
