Freda Marie Stoneking
Parkersburg, WV

Freda Marie Stoneking, 89, of Parkersburg,
passed away Nov. 20, 2012, at the Worthington
Manor Nursing Facility.

She was born June 1, 1923, in Wood County, a
daughter of the late William Wallace and Della
Pearl Smith Johnson.

Freda was a member of the Sand Hill United
Methodist Church and was a Homemaker. She was
a member of TOPS and the Red Hat Society. She
enjoyed Quilting, Sewing, Cooking and
socializing with people.

Surviving are two sons, Harold J. (Shirley)
Stoneking Jr. of Winchester, Ky., and William
Patrick (Diana) Stoneking of Reno, Ohio; three
daughters, Elaine (Don) Hannaman of Ocalo,
Fla., Jane (Johnny) Jurado of Parkersburg and
Nancy (Richard) Line of Clifton, Va.; 12
grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren; two
brothers, Arthur Ken Johnson and Robert Wayne
Johnson, both of Parkersburg; one sister,
Carolyn Johnson of Harrisville and many nieces
and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded
in death by her husband, Harold J. Stoneking
Sr.; daughter, Doris Mae Stoneking, infant
daughter, Roberta Marie Stoneking; brother,
Willim Daniel Johnson and five sisters, Anna
Lee Chaplick, Lena Murray, Christine Murray,
Ruby Hajjar and Mary Hammett.

The funeral service will be held 1 p.m.
Saturday at Kimes Funeral Home, 521 Fifth
Street, Rev. John Frum will officiate and
burial will follow at Mt. Olivet Cemetery. The
visitation will be Friday from 2-8 p.m. and an
hour prior to the service on Saturday.

Joe Douglas Brand, 62, of Kenna, W.Va., passed
away Sept. 29, 2013, at the Hubbard Hospice
House in Charleston.

He was born Feb. 4, 1951 in Rockport, a son of
the late Clement L. and Annabell Pierce Brand.

Joe was a former employee of Walker
Parkersburg and Gatewood Products. He was a
member of the DAV Chapter #6, the VFW Post
1212 of Parkersburg, and a former member of
the DAV Chapter 6. He enjoyed hunting.

Surviving is his longtime companion, Linda
Hartshorn and her daughter, Kim Anderson and
her three children, Aerieal Wedekamm, Khali
Naylor-Anderson and Lillith Naylor-Anderson;
one brother, Cleston "Bing" (Darlene) Brand of
Washington, W.Va.; one sister, Oleta "Peach"
(Greg) Lyons of Grayson, Ga.; a brother-in-
law, Ronald "Gene" Amos of Parkersburg; and
several nieces and nephews. In addition to his
parents, he was preceded in death by two
sisters, Patricia Lott and Helen Amos.

The funeral service will be held at 2 p.m.
Thursday at Kimes Funeral Home, 521 5th
Street, Parkersburg, with Pastor John Barker
officiating, and burial will follow at the
Pond Creek Baptist Church Cemetery. The
visitation will also be on Thursday from 11
a.m. until time of the service.

Loren Kittle
Little Hocking, OH

Loren Brooks "Potsie" Kittle Jr., 65, of
Little Hocking, Ohio, passed away Sept. 24,
2013, at his home.

He was born Feb. 26, 1948 in Parkersburg, a
son of the late Loren B. Kittle Sr. and Velma
K. Childers Kittle.

Loren was a 1966 graduate of Parkersburg High
School and was employed by Tim Ellison's
Excavating and Dozer Service of Elizabeth,
W.Va.

He was a member of the National Rifle
Association and the Mountain State Muzzle
Loaders Association and he was an avid Sprint
Car Fan following the Ohio Valley Sprint Car
Association.

Surviving is his wife of 42 years, Beverly
Wigal Kittle; his daughter, Jenny R. Kittle of
Little Hocking; he was very proud of his
grandson, Walker Church. He enjoyed going to
his basketball and football games.

Also survived hy his sister-in-law, Margie
Kimes Kittle of Washington; his brother-in-
law, David Keener of Marietta; his nephew,
Alan Kittle and great-nephew, Shane Kittle and
his aunt, Roberta Farrar of Parkersburg. He is
also survived by two honorary daughters, Robyn
Stewart and Karen Hensley Henthorn.

In additiion to his parents, he was preceded
in death by his brother, Sam Kittle; his
sister, Sandra Keener and his uncle Raymond
Childers.

The funeral service will be held at 2 p.m.
Friday at Kimes Funeral Home, 521 Fifth
Street, Parkersburg. Pastor Bob Farrar will
officiate. The visitation will be from 4-8
p.m. today and an hour prior to the service on
Friday.

Roger David Hale
Belpre, OH

Roger David Hale, 58, of Belpre, Ohio, passed
away Sept. 23, 2013, in the emergency room of
Camden Clark Medical Center, St. Joseph's
Campus.

He was born in Parkersburg on Dec. 5, 1954,
the son of Gladys L. Sloan Hale of Parkersburg
and the late Rev. Ernest C. Hale.

Roger was of the Baptist faith and was a 1973
graduate of Parkersburg High School. Roger was
employed by United Rentals of Marietta as
Operations Manager.

In addition to his mother, he is survived by
his former wife and friend, Cheryl Hale of
Parkersburg; one daughter, Cheryl Walters of
Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio; two grandchildren,
Braunavon and Braylon Arsenault; his sister,
Linda (Joe) Meyer of Canton, Ohio; uncle and
aunt, Rev. Clay and Geraldine Sloan of Naples,
Fla.; longtime special family friend, Terri
Furr of Parkersburg; and a host of many other
close friends and acquaintances.

The funeral service will be held 11 a.m.
Friday at Kimes Funeral Home, 521 5th Street,
Parkersburg. Rev. Dr. William Thomas will
officiate and burial will follow at Sunset
Memory Gardens. The visitation will be on
Thursday from 3-8 p.m., and an hour prior to
the service on Friday.

Michael Scott Beeson
Mineral Wells, WV

Michael Scott Beeson, 54, of Mineral Wells,
W.Va., passed away Sept. 15, 2013, at Camden
Clark Medical Center.

He was born Aug. 22, 1959 in Parkersburg, a
son of Charles S. Beeson of Mineral Wells and
the late Madalone "Mattie" Schultz Beeson.

Michael was a graduate of Williamstown High
School, was a member of the Pentecostal Church
in Ravenswood, and he had worked as a horse
trainer. He was a member of the American
Quarter Horse Association.

Surviving in addition to his dad is his former
wife, Suzanne Nay of Tuppers Plains; a step-
daughter, Nicole; two sisters, Pam (Bob)
Radabaugh of Hamilton, Texas, and Beverly
(Sam) Fugitt of Mineral Wells; three nieces,
Jennifer Thompson, Jessica Valez and Mattie
Fugitt; three nephews, Brandon, Joshua and
Nathan Radabaugh; and several great-nieces and
nephews.

There will be a private memorial service
around Christmas time at the discretion of the
family.

Kimes Funeral Home & Cremation Services of
Parkersburg is assisting the family.

The family would like to express their thanks
to the nurses and staff of the CCU Unit at
Camden Clark Medical Center with a special
thanks to Dr. Kelil for his care and
professionalism shown to the family while
Michael was under his care.

Jerry Clinton Reeder
Columbus, OH

Jerry Clinton Reeder, 73, of Columbus, Ohio,
formerly of the local area, passed away Sept.
13, 2013, at the Columbus Colony Elder Care at
Westerville, Ohio.

He was born May 7, 1940 in Parkersburg, a son
of the late George C. "Tiny" and Theone E.
Roan Reeder.

Jerry was a member of the Middle Park Church
of God in Columbus and had been affiliated
with the Liberty Street Church of God in
Parkersburg. He was a 1958 graduate of
Parkersburg High School and West Liberty
College in 1963. He had worked at Hartmans
Sports Card Shop in Columbus for 25 years and
was a former School Teacher at Little Hocking
from 1963-1969, where he started the
Elementary Band and had directed the choir at
Warren High School. He also taught school at
Sandy Valley, where he directed the choir and
produced many musicals. Jerry was a member of
the Hall of Fame Barbershop Chorus from 1971-
1988 and sang in the International Chorus in
1988. He was currently a member of the Singing
Buckeye's Barbershop Chorus. He had received
many singing awards including Barbershop
Quartets and Barbershop of the Year in 2012.
He had sang in various Barbershop Quartets.

Surviving is his brother, Robert B. "Bob"
(Pat) Reeder of Little Hocking, Ohio; sister-
in-law, Eleanor Reeder of Grafton, Va.; two
nephews, Senior High Youth Pastor, Eric
(Marsha) Reeder of Anderson, Ind., and Brent
(Stacy) Reeder of Pace, Fla.; three neices,
Kimberly Turner of Foot Hills Ranch, Calif.,
Danielle (Donald) Fordyce of Parkersburg, and
Emily Harper Griffiths (Darryll) of Paquoson,
Va.; and several great-nieces and nephews. In
addition to his parents, he was preceded in
death by a brother, Larry L. Reeder; and
sister-in-law, Elaine M. Watson Reeder.

The funeral service will be held at 1 p.m.
Monday at Kimes Funeral Home, 521 5th Street,
Parkersburg with his nephews, Eric and Brent
Reeder, officiating and burial will follow at
Sunset Memory Gardens. The visitation will be
on Sunday from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m., and on
Monday from 11 a.m. until time of service.

The family would like to express special
thanks to the Nurses and Staff at Columbus
Colony Elder Care in Westerville, Ohio, for
the excellent care shown to Jerry during his
time there.
