David Roscoe Nesselrotte, 59, of Parkersburg,
passed away Sept. 11, 2013, at the Willows
Nursing Center.
He was born March 18, 1954 in Parkersburg, a
son of Jessie Speece Nesselrotte of
Parkersburg and the late Daniel R. Nesselrotte.
He was a member of the Fellowship Baptist
Church and was employed as a Sandblaster with
G.E. Plastics.
In additiion to his mother, he is survived by
a son, Dale Edward (Shayna) Nesselrotte of
Parkersburg and a daughter, Jennifer (Junior)
Swiger of Parkersburg; six grandchildren; two
sisters, Rebecca (Randy) Waggoner of
Parkersburg and Cynthia (Howie) Powell of
Parkersburg.
In addition to his father, he was preceded in
death by two infant siblings.
The funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m.
Saturday at the Kimes Funeral Home, 521 Fifth
Ave., Parkersburg, Pastor Tom Blake will
officiate and burial will follow at Evergreen
North Cemetery. The visitation will be on
Friday from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. and an hour prior
to the service on Saturday.
Brian Michael Smedley
Parkersburg, WV
Brian Michael Smedley, 45, of Mineral Wells,
went home on Angels wings to be with his
Heavenly Father and Jesus, his Saviour from
Camden Clark Medical Center, on Stpt. 10,
2013, following a brave and courageous battle
with cancer.
He was born Aug. 14, 1968 in Parkersburg, the
son of Michael J. and Sandy Beach Smedley of
Parkersburg. Brian was a 1986 graduate of
Parkersburg South High School where he played
football and was on the track team. He had
attended Glenville State College. He was an
active member of the Mt. Pleasant United
Methodist Church in Mineral Wells.
Brian had been employed as a chemical operator
with the Energizer Battery Company in
Marietta. He was an avid sports fan enjoying
all types of sports, he was a Buffalo Bills
and West Virginia Mountaineer Fan and also
enjoyed Bowling.
Brian was a wonderful family man who was loved
and will be missed by all that knew him.
Surviving in addition to his parents is his
wife Michele L. Brown Smedley, his son, Bryce
Michael Smedley and his daughter Olivia Grace
Smedley, both at home; his sister Tammy (John)
Moore of Parkersburg; sister and brother-in-
law, Lora and Tim Bruker of Vienna. Nieces,
Jessica and Toria Moore and Caroline Bruker;
aunts, Judy (Hank) Oldaker and Rhena Stanley
and uncle Bob (Kitty) Beach.
He is also survived by in laws Rev. Wayne and
Nancy Rundle Brown of Parkersburg and
grandmother-in-law Pam Brown of Fairmont and
aunts and uncles Hazel and Mark Armstrong of
Mineral Wells, Daniel and Helen Rundle and
David and Theresa Rundle of Fairmont, many
special cousins and other extended family
members and many close friends and
acquaintances and special pet "B.J."
Preceding him in death are paternal
grandparents Lovell and Belle Smedley and
maternal grandparents Claude and Orpha Beach.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m.
Saturday at Kimes Funeral Home, 521 Fifth
Street, Parkersburg, with the Rev. Kevin Lantz
officiating. Entombment will follow at the
Three Crosses Mausoleum at Sunset Memory
Gardens. Visitation will be held on Friday
from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. and one hour prior to
services on Saturday.

for the care given to Brian during his illness
and special thanks to Dr. Kelli Cawley for her
care and professionalism shown during Brian's

Homer Erwin Jones
Elizabeth, WV
Homer Erwin Jones Jr., 65, of Route 2
Elizabeth, passed away Sept. 8, 2013, at his
home.
He was born Sept. 4, 1948, in Parkersburg, a
son of the late Homer Erwin and Florence
Elaine White Jones.
Homer was a graduate of Wirt County High
School and was a salesman with Homer's
Specialty Building Products of Mineral Wells.
He had served in the United States Army. He
was a member of the Wild Turkey Federation and
enjoyed hunting, fishing and his bass boat.
Surviving is his wife, Sharon Kay Houchin
Jones; one son, Matthew (his fiancee, Taylor
Scott) Jones of Newark; one daughter, Melissa
(Chris) Speece of Newark; two grandchildren,
Trevor Jones and Isabella Speece; his sister,
Doris Eileen (Wayne) Lynch of Greenwood,
W.Va.; a niece, Carrie (Jason) Senft of
Fairmont; and a brother and sister-in-law,
Chuck and Marge Houchin of Williamstown.
The funeral service will be 1 p.m. Thursday at
Kimes Funeral Home, 521 Fifth St.,
Parkersburg. Pastor Dwight Brohard will
officiate and burial will follow at Fought
Cemetery at Newark. Visitation will be from 2-
4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. today and an hour prior to
the service on Thursday.
Orpha Opal Beach
Parkersburg, WV
Orpha Opal Beach, 96, of Parkersburg, went to
Heaven on the Wings of Angels surrounded by
her family from the Willows Nursing Center,
Sept. 3, 2013.
She was born at Belleville, a daughter of the
late Charlie Edward and Ora Della Life
Holliday.
Orpha was a long time member of Trinity United
Methodist Church, where she was a member of
the Willing Workers Class and the Star of Hope
Circle of the United Methodist Women.
She retired from Dils Department Store and was
a former employee of the American Viscose and
the Wood County Board of Educatiion. She
enjoyed sewing and was an excellent seamstress.
Surviving is her son, Bob (Kitty) Beach and
her two daughters, Judy (Hank) Oldaker and
Sandy (Mike) Smedley all of Parkersburg; six
grandchildren, Sherry Cain of Ocala, Fla.,
Kristy (Mark) Keeney of Parkersburg, Tammy
(John) Moore of Parkersburg, Brian (Michele)
Smedley of Mineral Wells, Scott Beach of
Parkersburg, and Lori (Jason) Enoch of Mineral
Wells; eight great-grandchildren, Heather
(Cody) Miller, Zack (Holly) Cain, Jessica
Moore, Toria Moore, Olivia Smedley, Bryce
Smedley, Matthew Enoch and Joshua Enoch.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded
in death by her husband of 53 years, Claude E.
Beach whom she married on Feb. 20, 1937 by the
Rev. I.S. Maddahgh, a grandson, Larry Scott
Oldaker, a brother, Carl Holliday and three
sisters, Maggie Cross, Lillie Beach and Virtie
May Holliday.
The funeral service will be held at 1 p.m.

Street, Parkersburg. Pastor Dave Stilgenbauer
will officiate and burial will follow at the
Evergreen South Cemetery.

Cheryl Lynn "Sherry" Montgomery
Parkersburg, WV
Cheryl Lynn "Sherry" Montgomery, 55, of
Parkersburg, went to be with her Jesus on
Sept. 2, 2013, from Camden Clark Medical
Center.
She was born July 25, 1958 in Parkersburg, a
daughter of Bonnie Jean McBride Hopkins of
Parkersburg, and the late Earl Samuel McDonald.
Sherry attended PSHS and was a homemaker. She
was an active member of the Union Valley
Baptist Church where she was a Sunday School
Teacher, worked a lot with the youth and the
VBS.
Surviving is her husband, Clyde
Michael "Mickey" Montgomery; one son, Morgan
Taylor (Nikki) Montgomery; a daughter, Tina
Marie Montgomery, and a step-son, Michael
Robin (Lacey) Montgomery, all of Parkersburg;
five grandchildren, Alexis Full, Isabella,
Lucas, Cammi and Hunter Montgomery; three
brothers, Michael Gail McDonald, Earl
Samuel "Boe" (Sherry) McDonald Jr. and Daren
James McDonald; and one sister, Misty Dawn
Hopkins. In addition to her father, she was
preceded in death by a brother, Norman Shawn
McDonald.
There will be a memorial service held on
Saturday, Sept. 14, at 3 p.m., at the Union
Valley Baptist Church at 3349 Old St. Marys
Pike, Rev. William Law will officiate. There
will be a reception following the service.
Memorial donations may be made to the American
Cancer Society.

Lottie Margaret Ullom
Ravenswood, WV
Lottie Margaret Ullom, 78, a resident of
Ravenswood Village, passed away Aug. 19, 2013,
at the Cabell-Huntington Hospital.
She was born Jan. 31, 1935 in Zanesville,
Ohio, a daughter of the late Guy and Eldred
Wilson Bell.
She was a member of the Elizabeth United
Methodist Church and also a member of the
Eastern Star. She was a devoted and loving
mother and grandmother.
Surviving is her two sons, Jeffrey (Patricia)
Ullom of Murrells Inlet, S.C., and Jonathan
(Nancy) Ullom of Evans, W.Va.; grandchildren,
Holly, Jeffrey Jr., Jonathan Jr., Scott and
Jordan; great-grandchildren, Noah, Jonah,
Isaac, Hannah, Faith, Silas and Calli; and a
sister, Mary Lou (Stewart) Gardner of Delray
Beach, Fla. In addition to her parents, she
was preceded in death by her brother, Holly
Bell.
There will be a memorial service at a later
date at the Murrells Inlet, S.C. United
Methodist Church.
