David Neil Walker
Ravenswood, WV

David Neil Walker, 56, of Ravenswood, W.Va.,
passed away at his home on July 13, 2013.

He was born Feb. 21, 1957 in Spencer, W.Va., a
son of the late Garnard Walker and Betty
(Parsons) Walker.

David was a graduate of Spencer High School
and a Baptist by faith. He retired as a Field
Manager from the Defense Department in
Baltimore, Md. and enjoyed fishing.

He is survived by his wife, Paula (Hood)
Walker; two daughters, Bridgett Walker of
Charleston, W.Va., and Brandi Ordonio of
Ravenswood; four brothers, Randall (Dina)
Walker of Spencer, Terry (Cheryl) Walker of
High Point, N.C., Kevin (Shelly) Walker of
Spencer, and Robin Walker of Charleston,
W.Va.; three grandchildren, Lane Seal, Cody
Seal, and Adelina Ordonio. He is also survived
by a mother-in-law, Colleen Hood, and a sister-
in-law, Kathy Greenleaf and her husband, Ron,
a brother-in-law, David Hood and his wife,
Patty.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in
death by a father-in-law, Alford Hood.

Donations may be made to the American Lung
Association.

A Memorial Service is planned for Sunday, July
21, at 3 p.m. at the Ravenswood Freewill
Baptist Church with Pastor Chris Skeen
officiating.

The family will receive guests one hour prior
to the service at the church.

Gale Edward Anthony
Parkersburg, WV

Gale Edward Anthony, 81, of Parkersburg,
passed away at his home on July 12, 2013.

He was born Feb. 23, 1932, in Parkersburg, a
son of the late Lemuel Leslie and Edith Almira
Wyers Anthony.

Gale was a member of South Parkersburg Baptist
Church, and a 1950 graduate of Parkersburg
High School. He was employed as a technician
by Lucent Phone Company, and was in the U.S.
Navy during the Korean War.

He is survived by his loving wife of 37 years,
Jean Eleanor Black Anthony; two sons, Michael
Anthony of Parkersburg and Randy Anthony of
St. Albans, W.Va.; two stepsons, Kenneth
(Joyce) McIntire and Craig (Laurie) McIntire,
both of Parkersburg; a daughter, Kathy Anthony
of Cedar Grove, W.Va.; and two stepdaughters,
Carla (Dr. Richard) Johns of Parkersburg and
Melanie (Steve) Lester of Charlotte, N.C.; two
brothers, Gary (Sandy) Anthony of Yuma, Ariz.,
and Michael (Amanda) Anthony of Vienna, W.Va.;
two sisters, Jean (Lester) Caplinger of
Parkersburg and Betty (Ernest) Varner of
Vienna, W.Va.; 14 grandchildren, Dustin (Ana)
Anthony, Doug Anthony, McKayla Anthony, Erin
(Mike) Speese, Alex Johns, David McIntire,
Austin (Cori) McIntire, Brandon McIntire,
Amanda Zito, Ericka (James) Morse, Shannon
(Andy) Garner, Tasha Compton, Michael Maxwell
and Dannielle (Mick) Maynard; and 13 great-
grandchildren, Justice, McKenzie and Landon
Anthony, Luke, Nik and Ben Zito, Jaden and
Gage Garner, Banner and Avery Morse, Stella
Speese, and Ryder and Carter Compton.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in
death by a brother, Graden Anthony; and a
sister-in-law, Doris Anthony.

The family would like to express a special
thank you to Dr. Nik Shah and his staff for
their care and support.

Donations may be made to South Parkersburg
Baptist Church, 1655 Blizzard Dr.,
Parkersburg, WV, and Housecalls Hospice, 1226
Market St., Parkersburg, WV.

A memorial service will be 11 a.m. Friday at
Kimes Funeral Home, 521 Fifth St.,
Parkersburg, with Pastor Joe Busch
officiating. There will be no visitation.

Larry Hugh (Barney) Barnes
Cottageville, WV

Larry Hugh "Barney" Barnes, 73, of
Cottageville, W.Va., passed away July 10,
2013, at the Hubbard Hospice House in
Charleston.

He was born Oct. 3, 1939 in Marietta, Ohio, a
son of the late Earnest and Dolly Hanna Barnes.

He was a self employed truck driver/owner and
operator for 50 years and he enjoyed working
on and riding Harley Davidsons.

Barney had served in the United States Marine
Corps from 1956 thru 1959. He was a member of
the American Legion of Charleston.

Surviving is his wife, Mary Ann Eddy Barnes;
one brother, Jerry Lee (Dianna) Barnes of
Washington Bottom; one daughter, Kathy Lynn
Barnes Van Meter of Rockport; one
stepdaughter, Michelle Lynn Radcliff of Rock
Wall, Texas; one stepson, Robert Kenneth
Wilson of Tucson, Ariz., and a half-sister,
Lisa Dawn Sims of Waverly; 12 grandchildren;
five great grandchildren and several nieces
and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in
death by a son, Kenneth Lee Barnes, and a
brother, Donald W. Barnes and a nephew, Rodney
Barnes.

The funeral service will be held at 1 p.m.
Saturday at Kimes Funeral Home, 521 Fifth
Street, Parkersburg; his brother Jerry Barnes
and friend, Shawn Lauderman will be speaking
and burial will follow at the Lubeck Cemetery.
The visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. today.

The family requested that donations be made to
the Hubbard Hospice House at 1001 Kennawa
Drive, Charleston, WV 25311-1824.

Homer L Rader
Parkersburg, WV

Homer L. Rader, 76, of Parkersburg passed away
July 3, 2013, at Camden Clark Medical Center.

He was born June 13, 1937, at Stinson, Calhoun
County, a son of the late James C. "Coy" and
Eulia Jarvis Rader. Homer was a 1956 graduate
of Calhoun High School and had served in the
United States Marines. He was a current member
of the First Assembly of God where he served
as an usher, a former member of the Akron-
Springfield Assembly of God where he served as
the Teen Department Sunday school
superintendent and had served as secretery-
treasurer while a member of the Barberton,
Ohio, Assembly of God. Homer worked for the
North American Roto Engravers of Wadsworth,
Ohio, retiring with 32 years of service. He
enjoyed gardening.

Surviving is his wife of 53 years, Wandalee
Smith Rader, whom he married on April 16, 1960
in Ritchie County; one son, Christopher L.
(Brenda) Rader of Dallas, Ga.; one daughter,
Victoria L. Rader of Parkersburg; two
grandsons, Jonathan and Jeremy Rader; four
brothers, Charles (Evadeen) Rader of
Barberton, Ernest "Tom" (Diana) Rader of
Annamoriah, James (Sylvia) Rader of
Victorsville, Calif.; and Russell (Susan)
Rader of Los Angeles, Calif.; two sisters,
Leona Ruth "Judy" (Keith) Bowman of
Grantsville, and Jean (Bill) Pitz of
Barberton; and many nieces and nephews. In
additon to his parents, he was preceded in
death by a brother, Robert (Betty) Rader, and
a sister, Elizabeth (Trent) Vasquez.

The funeral service will be held at 10 a.m.
Saturday at Kimes Funeral Home, 521 Fifth St.,
Parkersburg, with the Rev. Robert Holland
officiating. Burial will follow at the Morris
Family Cemetery in Ritchie County. Visitation
will be held from 4-8 p.m. today.

Irene Sue (Gag-gie) McVay
Vienna, WV

Irene Sue "Gag-gie" McVay, 59, of Pleasant
View Towers, passed away July 1, 2013, at her
home.

She was born in Calhoun County on April 2,
1954, a daughter of the late Arley Kellar and
Elodene Crawford Kellar, and stepdaughter to
the late Donald Kellar.

Irene was a member of Davisville Community
Chapel and had formerly attended Spreading
Truth Ministries, where she had taught Sunday
School class. She was a homemaker and had
received her GED from Parkersburg Christian
School and had worked in a prison ministry.
Irene was a dedicated mother and dearly loved
her grandchildren. She enjoyed making jewelry
and going to the beach.

Surviving is her daughter, Rebecca (Leon)
Poling of Elizabeth, and her son, Charlie
Carver of Washington, W.Va.; six
grandchildren, Jonathan Gill, Stephen Gill,
Madison Braden, Adam Poling, Amber Poling and
Brooke Poling; one great-grandchild, Delilah
Gill; and two sisters, Nadine Ruble of
Parkersburg and Sherrie Kellar of Lancaster,
Ohio.

There will be a memorial service at a later
date at the convenience of the family.

Kimes Funeral Home & Cremation Services of
Parkersburg, is assisting the family.

Barry Alan Parrish
Parkersburg, WV

Barry Alan Parrish, 46, of Parkersburg, passed
away June 27, 2013, at Ruby Memorial Hospital
in Morgantown.

He was born March 13, 1967, in Parkersburg, a
son of Norma Jean "Jeanie" Stulley (Ron)
Phillips of Beverly, W.Va., and the late Paul
David Parrish.

Barrry was a 1985 graduate of Belpre High
School, where he was Tri Valley Conference All
Conference Selection in Cross Country in 1983
and 1984. He was self-employed and was an avid
dart player for many years, and qualified many
times for the National Dart Tournaments in Las
Vegas. He had many friends which he referred
to as his "Dart Family." He also enjoyed
raising house plants and going to the beach
with his family.

In addition to his mother and stepfather, he
is survived by his daughter, Shaylee Nicole
Parrish of Parkersburg; his brother, Bryan D.
Parrish of Belpre; two sisters, Laura Parrish
of Little Hocking and Leigh (John) Stubbs of
Waverly, Ohio; nieces and nephews, Brody
Parrish, Corey Parrish, Jennifer Parrish,
Kristin Stubbs, Isaiah Thomas, Cayden Parrish,
and Leon Parrish; his maternal grandmother,
Ruth Stulley of Waverly, Ohio; and several
aunts, uncles and cousins.

The funeral service will be 1 p.m. Tuesday at
Kimes Funeral Home, 521 Fiffh St.,
Parkersburg. The Rev. Dennis Pratt will
officiate and burial will follow at Fairview
Cemetery on Ohio Route 339. The visitation
will be Monday from 3-8 p.m. and an hour prior
to the service on Tuesday.
