Shirley Ann Schuler, 77, of Parkersburg, passed
away Aug. 12, 2014, at her home.
She was born on July 7, 1937, in Parkersburg, a
daughter of the late Clarence and Minnie Uhl
Anderson.
Shirley was a homemaker, an avid WVU
Mountaineers fan and enjoyed watching her
grandchildren play sports. She had worked as a
cook at Benny's Waffle Iron Restaurant.
Surviving is a son, Richard Schuler Jr. (Carey)
of Parkersburg; three daughters, Jenny Deberry
of Inman, S.C., JoAnn Schuler Harrison of
Parkersburg and Major Janet Schuler Harrod
(Alex), stationed with the U.S. Army in South
Korea.; 9 grandchildren, Steven Dennis, Ricky
Deberry, Michael Deberry, Lee Ann Schuler,
Jennifer Schuler, Ashley Schuler, Alexis
Harrod, Samuel Wayne Schuler and Mollie Miller;
12 great-grandchildren, Eli Deberry, Caitlyn
Headle, Madison Jo Richards, Chloe Kirk, Conner
Diaz, Avah Diaz, Liam Deberry, Haiden Deberry,
Ava Deberry, Brylee Dennis, Steven Dennis Jr.
and Jace Deberry; one brother, John Anderson of
Parkersburg; one sister, Betty Scott of
Parkersburg; and many nieces and nephews. In
addition to her parents, she was preceded in
death by her husband, Richard A. "Dick"
Schuler; and an infant son, Russell Schuler;
three brothers, Everett, Harold and Clarence
Anderson; five sisters, Beulah Anderson,
Kathleen Burdette, Edna Gildow, Virgie
Nesselrotte and Pauline Atkinson.
The funeral service will be held at 2 p.m.
Sunday, Aug. 17, at Kimes Funeral Home, 521 5th
Street, Parkersburg, with Pastor Lynn Roush
officiating. Burial will follow at Evergreen
South Cemetery. The visitation will be from 2-7
p.m. Saturday, Aug. 16, at the funeral home.

Belleville, WV
Cheri Diane Cox, 53, of Belleville, passed away Aug. 12, 2014, at Riverside Methodist Hospital
in Columbus, Ohio.
She was born June 1, 1961, in Parkersburg, a
daughter of Bob and the late Judy Dickel.
Cheri enjoyed spending time at her farm with
her dogs, gardening and bird watching. She also
enjoyed playing cards and spending time with
friends and family, especially her grandson.
Survivors include her husband, Doug Cox of
Belleville; a daughter, Ashley (Chad) Smith of
Parkersburg; two brothers, Lynn (Linda) Dickel
of Parkersburg and Sam Dickel of Mineral Wells;
a grandson, Chance Henry Smith; and two step-
granddaughters, Alexis and Chloe Smith.
The family will greet friends from 3-7 p.m.
Friday, Aug. 15, at Kimes Funeral Home, 521 5th
St., Parkersburg. Funeral services will be
conducted at 3 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 16, at the
funeral home, with Pastor Randy Kochersperger
officiating.

Linda Jean Walker, 62, of Parkersburg, passed
away Aug. 9, 2014, at Genesis Health Care in
Marietta.
She was born Nov. 30, 1951, in Waynesburg,
Pa., a daughter of the late Glenn and Louise
Allen Powell.
Linda attended Big Tygart Baptist Church and
had worked in the call center for Woodcraft.
She enjoyed knitting, woodworking, NASCAR, the
Pittsburgh Pirates and spending time with her
grandchildren.
Surviving are two sons, Larry (Angela) Walker
and Steven "Bub" (Amber) Walker, both of
Parkersburg; grandchildren, Sebastian, Hunter
and Remington Walker, Hunter and Haden
Waggoner and Easton Walker; and two brothers,
William "Bill" Smiley of Washington, Pa., and
Jason (Amy) Powell of Garards Fort, Pa.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded
in death by a grandchild, Sabrina Walker.
The funeral service will be 11 a.m. Wednesday
at Kimes Funeral Home, 521 Fifth St.,
Parkersburg. Pastor Matthew Robinson will
officiate and burial will follow at Wadesville
Cemetery. Visitation will be 4-7 p.m. Tuesday.
Carla Davis
Parkersburg, WV
Carla Sue Davis, 63, of Parkersburg, passed
away Aug. 8, 2014.
She was born Nov. 23, 1950, in Parkersburg, a
daughter of the late Earl Buhl and Frances
Virginia Ferrell Davis.
Carla was a graduate of Parkersburg High
School. She retired from the U.S. Bureau of the
Public Debt. Carla enjoyed camping, was an avid
reader, she loved and enjoyed her dogs and
animals and loved the outdoors.
Surviving include Kathleen "Kat" Dailey, her
partner of 28 years; one brother, Mike (Sandy)
Davis; and a sister, Fran Lemley, both of
Vienna. Also surviving are several nieces,
nephews and great-nieces and nephews. In
addition to her parents, she was preceded in
death by brother, Mark Davis; and a half
brother, Jack Davis.
A celebration of Carla's life will be held at a
later date.

Benny Harrison Cain of Parkersburg departed
this life Aug. 5, 2014 at his home.
He was a son of the late Virgil Cain and
Wuanita Cain Buchanan.
He is survived by sisters Marie (Lester) McGee
and Susan Cain, and a brother, Richard (Judy)
Cain and a dear friend, Tammy Cline.

Parkersburg, WV
Mary Lou (Thompson) Evans, 79, of Parkersburg,
lost the battle with Parkinson's on July 25,
2014.
Mary Lou was born on Nov. 3, 1934, and
attended Parkersburg High School graduating
with the class of 1952. She was a charter
member of New Hope Baptist Church in
Parkersburg.
Mary Lou was preceded in death by her parents,
Lester D. and Vivian D. Thompson; her brother,
R. Darel Thompson; and niece, Debbie Thompson.
She is survived by her husband, C. Don Evans
Jr.; three children, Cheryl (Mike) Evans
Perry, David Lee Evans and Jeffrey (Rita)
Evans; four grandchildren, Laura May Evans,
Sarah (Domenic) Perry Ferrari, Conner Evans
and Mackenzie Graham; two great-grandchildren,
Payton and Phillip Ferrari; three brothers, H.
Dean (Barbara) Thompson, J. Dwayne (Patty Jo)
Thompson and G. Dwight (Kelly) Thompson; and
sister-in-law, Mabel Thompson.
The family would like to extend gratitude to
Hospice and the Staff/Administration of
Parkersburg Care Center in Parkersburg for the
excellent care and kindness during her stay at
the facility.
