Sara Wilber Curatolo
Sara Wilber Curatolo, 68, of Hurricane, W.Va., went home to be with her Lord Saturday, April 15, 2006, at her residence. Funeral services were conducted Wednesday, April 19, 2006, at Heck Funeral Home, Milton, W.Va., with the Rev. Allen Stewart officiating. Burial in Forest Memorial Park, Milton. Sara was born September 17, 1937, in Milton, a daughter of the late Lindsey and Elizabeth Lunsford Grass. She is also preceded in death by one brother, Joe Eddie Grass and one sister, Jane Ann Meadows. Sara was a graduate from Milton High School, where she was also crowned Miss Greyhound. She also attended Marshall University and Catherine Gibbs Finishing School. She was the training director for Gimbles and Wanamakers and the Vice President in charge of personnel for Diamond Department Store. Sara was the personnel director for Kaufman Department Store and was the human resource manager for Jackson and Kelly law office. She was on the Board of Advisors for Sunrise Museum and taught merchandising at West Virginia State. She is survived by her loving husband, John Anthony Curatolo; two daughters, Jane Lee Unabia and her husband Edward and Dee Ann Wilber, one stepson, John Michael Curatolo and his wife Jean; one stepgrandson, John Michael Curatolo Jr.; one stepdaughter, Anne Catharine Mecum and her husband Sam; two stepgrandchildren, Anthony Michael Mecum and Mary Catharine Mecum.

Saundra Kay Bias McGinnis
Saundra Kay Bias McGinnis, 55, of Columbus, Ohio, formerly of Barboursville, passed away Saturday, April 15, 2006, at home. Funeral services were conducted Wednesday, April 19, 2006, at the Wallace Funeral Home & Chapel, Barboursville, by the Rev. Tommy Jeffrey and eulogy given by Flo Stephenson. Burial in Green Valley Cemetery. She was born November 10, 1950, in Huntington, a daughter of Hester Bias Chapman of Huntington. She is survived by her husband, William McGinnis; one daughter, Amanda McGinnis; three sons and daughter-in-law, Frankie, Jason McGinnis and Shannon and Tabatha McGinnis; three sisters, Judith Hedrick, Glenna Frame and Shirley Roach; five brothers, Daniel Bias, Clinton Chapman, Bobby Dale Chapman, Michael Chapman and Jackie Mays; three grandchildren.

Curtis Ray Black
Curtis Ray Black, 53, of Huntington, passed away Sunday April 9, 2006. Funeral service were conducted at 11 a.m. Friday, April 14, 2006, at Wallace Funeral Home & Chapel by the Rev. Tommy Jeffrey. Burial in Bowen Cemetery. He was born November 10, 1952, in Cabell County, West Virginia, a son of Mervin Black of Barboursville and the late Lois Welch Black. He was preceded in death by one granddaughter, Brittany Brumfield and one nephew, Freddie “Buck” Billups. He is survived by three children, Rebecca Brumfield and her husband John of Lesage, Anthony Black and his wife Kim, of Wayne, W.Va., and Amanda Clonch and her husband Will of Chesapeake, Ohio; two sisters Kathy Billups of Huntington and Becky Haun and her husband Gary of Columbus, Ohio; one brother, Richard Black and his wife, Tish of Barboursville; four grandchildren, William Black, Bethany Brumfield, Taylor Clonch and Lacy Clonch; and a host of family members who he loved dearly and many friends who he loved as family. Pallbearers were Anthony Black, Will Clonch, Brandon Black, Shannon Black, Tracy Haun and Darrell “Boo” Black. Wallace Funeral Home, Barboursville, was in charge of arrangements.

Lonnie Edward “Eddie” Snyder
Lonnie Edward “Eddie” Snyder, 47, of Barboursville, W.Va., passed away Friday, April 7, 2006. Funeral services were conducted Wednesday, April 12, 2006, at the Wallace Funeral Home & Chapel, Barboursville. Burial in White Chapel Memorial Gardens, Barboursville. He was born August 5, 1958, in Ohio, a son of the late Snyder and Mary L. Gartin Snyder. He attended Christ Temple Church and was a veteran of the United States Marine Corps. He is survived by three sisters and brothers-in-law, Janie Hammond of Connecticut, Karen and Bob Sellards of Barboursville, Debbie and Greg Pauley of Barboursville; one brother, Dale Snyder of Barboursville; a very special niece, Tracy “Butch” Black and many more special nieces and nephews; special friend, Melissa Sellerds. military graveside rites were conducted by VFW Post #9738, Guyandotte.

Louise Fetty
Louise Fetty, 74, of Milton, W.Va., passed away Sunday, April 9, 2006, at her residence. Funeral services were conducted Wednesday, April 12, 2006, at Heck Funeral Home, Milton. Burial in Forest Memorial Park, Milton. She was born October 19, 1931, in Cabell County, West Virginia, a daughter of the late Juble and Nannie Burns Porter. She was also preceded in death by her husband Glen Everett Fetty; sister Nancy Keeney; brother Robert Porter; three grandchildren, Christopher Hatfield, Tommy Sowards and Allan Stanley; son-in-law Leo Johnson. She was a loving mother, grandmother and sister and will be sadly missed. She is survived by her seven children, Deloris “Dee Dee” and Kelvin Cremeans, Glenna “Tootsie” and Mike Hatfield, Gladys Johnson, Donna and Delbert Sowards and Billy and Kristi Fetty, all of Milton, Sylvia and Michael Rapoza of Savannah, Ga. and Rose and Delmar Stanley of Milton: sister, Kathryn Holley of West Hamlin, W.Va.; brother Juble Lee Porter of Milton; 19 grandchildren, Kelvin “K.C.” and Melinda Cremeans, Stacy and Kandi Cremeans, April and Adam Hill, Cindy and Geoff Johnston, Mikey and Danielle Hatfield, Tina Sowards, Patty Sowards, Gina Redmond, Jill Lucas, Kelly Chadwell, Mikey Chadwell, Sam Chadwell, Christoper Fetty, Mark Fetty, Abby Fetty, Jason Rapoza, Derek Rapoza, Jamie and Joseph Waugh, Delmar and Cindy Stanley; 20 great-grandchildren and one that was very dear to her heart, Joshua Waugh; three great-great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces and nephews. Special thanks to Hospice for the care they gave to our mom. The family requests donations be made to Hospice of Huntington.

Kenneth M. Lowe
Kenneth “Red” Mitchell Lowe, 65, of Hurricane died April 8, 2006, at home after a short illness.
Born August 13, 1920 in Kanawha County, he was the son of the late Lester J. and Nancy M. Lowe. He was also preceded in death by his cherished wife, Oreita Ann.
He was a veteran serving in the U.S. Navy during World War II. He retired from Union Carbide with 40 years of service. He was a member of Forrest Burdette United Methodist Church, a Mason and a member of Putnam Lodge No. 139, the Scottish Rites, and I.A.M. Local 656.
Surviving: daughters and son-in-law, Nancy Adkins of Fayetteville, Sandy and Carl Handley of Fayetteville, Arkansas; grandchildren, Sara Adkins of Asheville, North Carolina and Christopher Adkins of Fayetteville; brothers, John Lowe and Joe Lowe, of Beckley; sister, Patty Mayes of St. Albans.
Service was held April 11, 2006 at Allen Funeral Home, Hurricane, with the Rev. Dr. Dan Hogan officiating. Burial was in Valley View Memorial Park, Hurricane.

Dorothy F. Melton
Dorothy F. Melton, 84, died April 8, 2006, at Hubbard Hospice House, Charleston, after a brief illness.
She was born November 5, 1921 in DuBois, Pennsylvania , one of seven children born to Leslie and Macie Field.
A longtime resident of the Hurricane-Scott Depot area, she was a member of Teays Valley Presbyterian Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Woodrow Melton.
Surviving: sons, Jeff Melton of Scott Depot, Wade McClure of Lewisburg and Gerald McClure of Bettendorf, Iowa; brothers, Robert of South Charleston and Charles of Laurel, Mississippi; special niece and nephew, Becky and Homer Toler of South Charleston; grandchildren, Chad Melton, Jason McClure, Julie West and John McClure; great-grandchildren, Reid McClure, Katrine, Chloe and Caroline Macy West.
Service was held April 12, 2006 at Chapman Funeral Home, Teays Valley, with the Rev. George Bendall and Dr. J.D. Harrah officiating. Burial was in Cunningham Memorial Park, St. Albans.
Memorial donations may be sent to Hubbard Hospice House, 1001 Kennawa Drive, Charleston WV 25311, or to a charity of choice.

L. Gary Mosier
L. Gary Mosier, 58, of Scott Depot died April 9, 2006, at his residence.
Born January 31, 1948 in Bloomington, Indiana, he was a son of Lloyd George and Margaret Louise McGlocklin of Plainfield, Indiana.
He was an operations and training coordinator with the Transportation Security Administration at Yeager Airport, and was a former air traffic controller at MBS International Airport, Saginaw, Michigan. he was a member of Redeemer Lutheran Church, Charleston, and served during the Vietnam Era with the U.S. Air Force.
Surviving: wife, Sandra Thiede Mosier; son, John Mosier of Sun Prairie, Wisconsin; daughter, Sherri Mosier of Bloomington, Indiana; sister, Ginger Mosier of New Hope, Pennsylvania ; granddaughter, Jasmine Mosier of Sun Prairie.
Service was held April 12, 2006 at Redeemer Lutheran Church with Pastor Kirk Ducker officiating. Burial was in Holy Cross Cemetery, Saginaw, Michigan. Chapman Funeral Home, Teays Valley, was in charge of arrangements.
Memorial donations may be made to Redeemer Lutheran Church, 1 Deerwalk Lane, Charleston WV 25314.

Larry W. Johnson
Larry W. Johnson, 65, of Hurricane died April 13, 2006.
Born November 26, 1940 in Burnside, he was a son of the late Garner and Sylvia Maynard Johnson.
He was a truck driver and a member of the Teamsters Union Local in Huntington. He was a member of Kenova Masonic Lodge 110 and Scottish Rite Bodies, Huntington. He served during the Vietnam Era with the U.S. Army and was a member of American Legion Post 93.
Surviving: son, John Johnson and wife, Tanya, of Hurricane; daughter, Debbie McDougal and husband, Brad, of Fairmont; grandsons, Shawn Johnson and Jonathon McDougal; brother, the Rev. Dr. Gary Johnson and wife, Nancy, of Houlton, Maine; loving companion, Doris Bayes; nieces, Becky Reed and Julie Angotti, both of Houlton.
Service was held April 15, 2006 at Chapman Funeral Home, Teays Valley, with Minister John Holland officiating. Burial, with military rites by American Legion Post 93 and Masonic graveside rites by Kenova Lodge 110, was in Mount Moriah Cemetery, Hurricane.

Harold Ray May
Harold Ray May, 49, of Poca died April 10, 2006.
Service was held April 15, 2006 at Gatens-Harding Funeral Home, Poca. Burial was in Center Point Cemetery, Liberty.

Freda Mae Gibson
Freda Mae Chapman Gibson, 81, of Hurricane died April 12, 2006, at CAMC General Hospital.
Born July 11, 1924 in Hurricane, she was a daughter of the late John Edgar and Lula Ellen Turner Chapman. She was also preceded in death by her daughter, Vickie Sue Gibson.
She was a lifelong resident of Hurricane a member of Bethel Baptist Church.
Surviving: husband, Floyd Marcel Gibson; daughters, Linda Cullum, Marcie Edwards, Rhonda Canterbury, and Tammy Gibson, all of Hurricane; sister, Reba Forth of Milton; granddaughters, Patti Lane of Hurricane, Kristi Smith of Coolville, Washington , and Natasha Gibson of Boone, North Carolina; grandsons, Greg Ray of Hurricane and Eric Canterbury of Gulfport, Mississippi; great-grandchildren, Kaylyn Goff and Lane Canterbury, both of Gulfport; special nephew, Larry Chapman of Culloden.
Service was held April 17, 2006 at Chapman Funeral Home, Teays Valley, with Pastor Mark Kilburn and Pastor Harold B. White Jr. officiating. Burial was in Valley View Memorial Park, Hurricane.
