Garnet Eloise Naylor
Prkersburg, WV

Garnet Eloise Naylor, 86, died on May 7, 2014,
at Camden Clark Medical Center of
complications following surgery.

She was born in Parkersburg, W.Va., on Sept.
14, 1927. She was the daughter of the late
Gertrude Wigal Emrick and Clarence Ray Emrick.

She graduated from Parkersburg High School
with the class of 1945. She was happily
married to Leonard Earle Naylor for 67 years.

She worked for New England Mutual Life
Insurance Company and the Ideal Box Company.
She retired from Borg-Warner Chemical Company
(GE) after 17 years of working in the
Purchasing Department.

She was a member of Trinity United Methodist
Church, where she was a faithful member of the
Good Will Sunday School Class. Throughout the
years, she had served the church in a variety
of roles including counselor for the youth
group, Membership Secretary and Secretary of
the Administrative Board.

Eloise was preceded in death by her parents;
two brothers, Bernard and Ray Emrick; and a
half-sister, Jan Blanchard.

Eloise is survived by her husband, Earle;
daughter, Vickie (Frank) Bono of Parkersburg;
two grandsons, Eric (Beth) Bono of Lakewood,
Colo., and Jeremy (Susie) Bono of Colorado
Springs, Colo.; four great-grandchildren,
Ellia and Celine Bono of Colorado Springs and
Phoebe and Shane Bono of Lakewood; her
brother, Charles "Chuck" (Sue) Emrick of

Juanita Emrick of Belpre; sister-in-law,

many dearly loved friends. Among her most
cherished friends are members of her sewing
club that met continuously for more than 50
years.

Eloise was a loving and kind person, and, in
her quiet way, was always eager to help
family, friends and aquaintances who were in
need. She loved nothing more than having her
house filled with family and friends. A friend
fittingly described her as "gentle in her
speech, generous in her heart, gorgeous in her
spirit."

Foremost, Eloise was a devout Christian who
was deeply committed to her religious values
and lived her life as a faithful witness to
Jesus Christ, her Lord and Savior. Her
greatest legacy was the Christian example she
set for all who knew and loved her.

She enjoyed visiting her beloved grandsons in
Colorado. She was known as "Granny Great" to
her four great-grandchildren. She always told
everyone that it was not because she was great
but because she was already "Granny" to her
grandsons. Nonetheless, her grandchildren and
great- grandchildren truly believed she was,
indeed, great.

The funeral service will be held at 11 a.m.
Saturday, May 10, at the Trinity United
Methodist Church. Pastor Dave Stilgenbauer and
the Rev. Marjorie Bevans will officiate and
