Jenny Lynn Taylor
Parkersburg, WV

Jenny Lynn Taylor, 50, of Parkersburg, passed
away March 30, 2014, at Marietta Memorial
Hospital.

She was born March 15, 1964, the daughter of
Gale P. Taylor and Joyce Pyles Taylor.

Jenny graduated from Parkersburg High School
with the class of 1982. She attended Marshall
University and West Virginia University at
Parkersburg. She had served on the Board of
Directors of the Mid Ohio Valley Multi
Cultural Festival. Jenny had worked at Harts
Department Store, retired as a kitchen
designer at Lowes and also spent time at
Carter Lumber, and of late, had managed
Worthington Golf Club, her family's business.

Jenny loved so many things -- a good
adventure, white water rafting, zip lining, bi-
plane rides and traveling with friends. She
loved her cats, the sea shore, reading, art,
crossword puzzles, word games and a good game
of scrabble or charades. She loved just being
with friends and having a good time. Most of
all, she loved hugs.

Surviving in addition to her parents is her
sister, Susan (Dean) Merriman; her brother,
Eric (Krissy) Taylor; special aunts, Linda
Angelo and Nancy Taylor; a nephew, Tyler
Merriman; five nieces, Abby Merriman, Hannah
Bonnell, Katie, Bella and Gracie Taylor; along
with many other relatives, friends and her
Worthington Family.

We send you off with Hugs Jenny!

There will be a memorial celebration of
Jenny's life at a later date at the
Worthington Golf Club.

Memorial contributions may be made to the
Strecker Cancer Center, 400 Matthew Street,
Marietta, Ohio, 45750, or to the charity of
the donor's choice.

The family would like to express special
thanks to Dr. Kelli Cawley and the staff of
Marietta Memorial Hospital for the care and
compassion shown to them and Jenny during her
illness.

Kimes Funeral Home & Cremation Services of
Parkersburg is assisting the family.

Charles Houchin
Williamstown, Wv

Charles Ray "Chuck" Houchin, 65, of
Williamstown, passed away March 28, 2014, at
the Arbors of Marietta.

He was born July 17, 1948, in Parkersburg, a
son of the late Ray H. "Pete" Houchin and
Frances Blosser Houchin.

His stepmother, Opal Houchin of Ravenswood,
formerly of Parkersburg, survives.

Chuck was a graduate of Wirt County High
School and he retired from Matlack Tank Lines
as a driver with 25 years of service. He was a
member of Fellowship Baptist Church on Rosemar
Road, and had served in the U.S. Army
Reserves. He was a member of the National
Rifle Association, enjoyed hunting and fishing
and spending time with the grandkids.

In addition to his stepmother, he is survived
by his wife, Margie Ellis Houchin; two sons,
Carl L. (Tracy) Powell of Boaz and Jason S.
(Melissa) Powell of Dayton, Ohio; two
daughters, Deena L. (Jerry) Proffitt of
Athens, Ohio, and Tara E. Houchin (Mike) Marsh
of Parkersburg; 10 grandchildren, Shandi Good,
Tyler Powell, Jeremy Good, Kylie Powell,
Brooklyn Powell, Trevor Powell, Natalia
Cozzens, Christian Powell, Ireland Powell and
Tristan Roberts; one sister, Sharon Kay Jones
of Elizabeth; and a stepbrother, William
Granville (Judy) Whited of Ravenswood. He is
also survived by one brother-in-law; seven
sisters-in-law and their spouses; and several
nieces, nephews and cousins.

He was preceded in death by a brother-in-law,
Homer Jones.

The funeral service will be 11 a.m. April 5 at
Kimes Funeral Home, 521 Fifth St.,
Parkersburg. Pastor Leon Valentine will
officiate and entombment will follow at Sunset
Memory Gardens. The visitation will be from
2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. Friday.

Russell Herman Knupp
Vienna, WV

Russell Herman Knupp, 81, of Vienna, passed
away March 22, 2014, at Camden Clark Medical
Center.

He was born Dec. 31, 1932, at Belleville, a
son of the late Hoyt Knupp and Virginia Scott
Knupp King.

Russell retired from Corning Glass with over
50 years of service. He was a U.S. Army
veteran of the Korean War and was a member of
VFW Post 1212.

Surviving is a son, Thomas D. Duffy Jr. of
Indiana; a daughter, Laura E Anderson of
Vienna; five grandchildren, Misty D. (Jayson
L.) Morris, William Russell "Rusty" (Jamie)
Anderson, Thomas D. Duffy III, Christopher T.
(Diane) Duffy and Amy Michelle Duffy; and
several great-grandchildren. Also surviving
are special friends, Karen West and Rose and
Jim Shutts; and special cousin, Scotty Amos.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in
death by his wife of 45 years, Margaret E
Nesselroad Knupp; a grandson, Andrew Michael
Duffy; a brother, Johnny Knupp; and an infant
brother.

The funeral service will be 1 p.m. Tuesday at
Kimes Funeral Home, 521 Fifth St.,
Parkersburg. The Rev. Jerry Caplinger will
officiate and burial will be at Pleasant Home
Cemetery at Belleville. Military rites will be
provided at the funeral home by American
Legion Post 15 of Parkersburg. The visitation
will be from 4-8 p.m. today and from 11 a.m.
until service time Tuesday.

Michael Kevin Martin
Vienna, WV

Michael Kevin Martin, 54, of Vienna, passed
away March 13, 2014, at Camden Clark Medical
Center, St. Joseph's Campus.

He was born in Parkersburg on Dec. 13, 1959, a
son of Cherie Mayle Shields and William
Shields of Vienna, and the late Garland Martin
Jr. of Elizabeth.

Michael was a 1978 graduate of PHS, was of the
Protestant Faith, and had worked at Domino's
Pizza of Vienna. He had also worked as a
handyman. He enjoyed hunting and fishing.

In addition to his mother and stepfather,
surviving is his girlfriend, Sandra Wright of
Vienna; two sisters, Carrie Shields of Vienna
and Terri Shields of Parkersburg; and a
nephew, Justice Shields. He is also survived
by several half brothers and sisters.

The funeral service will be 2 p.m. Monday at
Kimes Funeral Home, 521 Fifth St.,
Parkersburg. Pastor Jerry Caplinger will
officiate and burial will follow at Pakersburg
Memorial Gardens. The visitation will also be
Monday, from noon until service time.

Tammy Marie Ahart Harding
Parkersburg, WV

Tammy Marie Ahart Harding, 53, of Parkersburg,
passed away March 5, 2014.

She was a daughter of the late Hartzell and
Juanita Ahart.

Tammy was of the Baptist Faith and had been
employed at Camden Clark Medical Center and
the Wood County Board of Education.

Surviving is her daughter, Stacey (David)
Cunningham; two grandchildren, who were the
light of her life, Trey Cunningham and Lexi
McAtee; her sister, Cindy (Rick) Stephens and
her long-time friend and father of Stacey, Sam
Fox.

The funeral service will be held at noon
Saturday at Kimes Funeral Home, Pastor Danny
McVay will officiate. Burial will be at a
later date at the Neale Cemetery, Vienna.

Visitation will be one hour prior to the
service on Saturday

Rchard Carroll Deems
Washington, Wv

Richard Carroll Deems, 70, of Washington,
W.Va., passed away Feb. 13, 2014, at Camden
Clark Medical Center.

He was born July 8, 1943, in Wood County, a
son of the late Harry B. and Rita Bernice
Parsons Deems.

Richard retired from Ames with 37 1/2 years of
service. He enjoyed attending and
participating in horse shows, enjoyed boating,
camping, gardening and playing cards.

Survivors include his longtime companion, John
Kirk; two brothers, James F. (JoAnn) Deems of
Larkmead and Larry G. (Karen) Deems of
Washington; two sisters, Darlene (Walt)
Schroeder of Parkersburg and Sandy Simmons of
Parkersburg; and sister-in-law, Sheila Deems
of Parkersburg. He is also survived by several
nieces, nephews, cousins and special cousin,
Norma Jean Lemon of Parkersburg.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in
death by two brothers, Robert L. Deems and
Harry David Deems; and a sister, Joan Rebholz.

The funeral service will be 11 a.m. Monday at
Kimes Funeral Home, 521 Fifth St.,
Parkersburg. Pastor Jeff Williamson will
officiate and burial will follow at Evergreen
South Cemetery. Visitation will be Sunday from
2-8 p.m.

Memorial donations may be made to the American
Cancer Society or the Humane Society of
Parkersburg.

Emmer Paul Braham
Lubeck, WV

Emmer Paul Braham, 81, of Lubeck, passed away
Feb. 11, 2014, at his home.

He was born Aug. 7, 1932, in Parkersburg, a
son of the late Walter R. and Lena L. Hull
Braham.

Emmer was a member of Lubeck church of Christ
and retired from Kaiser Aluminum with 15 years
of service as a furnace operator. He was a U.
S. Army veteran of the Korean War. He was a
member of the Jackson County C.B. Club, had
served as an Auxiliary Policeman in Ravenswood
and was one of the first certified E.M.T.'s in
the state of West Virginia. He had served with
the Ravenswood Volunteer Fire Department and
was a Charter Member of the Silverton
Volunteer Fire Department. He enjoyed hunting,
fishing and was a WVU Mountaineer Fan.

Surviving is his wife, Jenoise Yoho Braham;
two daughters, Lois Ann Ripley and D.J. (Guy)
Haynes, both of Parkersburg; four
grandchildren, Ryan (Lori Ferrara) Morris,
Kayla Morris, Sarah (Joshua) Tucker and
Suzanne Ripley; two step grandchildren,
Heather Bailey and Andrew Haynes; one great-
granddaughter, Ella Tucker; two step great-
grandchildren, Alexas Bailey and Scott Bailey;
and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in
death by two brothers, Blaine Braham and
Walter Ray Braham; and a sister, Wanda
Richards.

The funeral service will be 2 p.m. Monday at
Kimes Funeral Home, 521 Fifth St.,
Parkersburg. Evangelist Steve Fuchs and
Emmer's brother-in-law, Evangelist Gale Yoho,
will officiate and burial will follow at Mt.
Olivet Cemetery with military rites conducted
by American Legion Post 15. The visitation
will be Sunday from 2-8 p.m. and one hour
prior to the service on Monday.
