Jimmie Gianettino
Parkersburg, WV

Jimmie Gianettino, 78, of Parkersburg, passed
away Sunday morning, Feb. 9, 2014, at home
under hospice care, after battling heart
disease.

He was born Nov. 20, 1935, in Clarksburg,
W.Va., to the late Tony R. and Thelma Davis
Gianettino.

He was a 1953 graduate of Victory High School
(Clarksburg), and then joined the United
States Navy. After being discharged, he went
on to college on the G. I. Bill and earned a
Bachelor's degree from Fairmont State College.
He worked for Monongahela Power in Fairmont
for 28 years before retiring in 1991. He
enjoyed doing handyman work for several years
before moving to Parkersburg in 2008. He
volunteered with Habitat for Humanity and at
Camden Clark Medical Center until his health
would no longer allow it.

He was a member of the Lambert's Run United
Methodist Church in Clarksburg, and currently
attended Trinity United Methodist Church where
he served as a teacher for the Goodwill Class,
and as treasurer of the United Methodist Men.

Surviving are his wife of 50 years, Susan
Thorne Gianettino; his daughter, Lisa
Gianettino (Eric Yoder) of Parkersburg; his
son, J. Alan Gianettino (Christy) of Sunbury,
Ohio; and his three precious granddaughters,
Kensey, Ella and Mia of Sunbury. Also
surviving are three brothers, Robert (Sondra)
Gianettino of East Lansing, Mich., David
(Carolyn) Gianettino of Chandler, Texas, and
Kenneth (Sara) Gianettino of Clarksburg; his
wife's brothers and sister and their spouses;
and several nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and
cousins. He was preceded in death by his
parents, as well as his step-father, Brinton
Riddle.

The family would like to thank the nurses and
aides of the 3rd floor telemetry unit at
Camden Clark Medical Center, St. Joseph's
Campus, for taking excellent care of Jim
during his long stay. We would also like to
thank Housecalls Hospice for their care in his
last days.

The funeral service will be conducted at 1
p.m. Friday at Trinity United Methodist
Church, 10th Avenue and Thomas Street,
Parkersburg. Pastor David Stilgenbauer will
officate and burial will follow at the Mt.
Olivet Cemetery with military rites conducted
by the American Legion Post # 15. The
visitation will be on Thursday from 1-8 p.m.
at Kimes Funeral Home, 521 5th Street,
Parkersburg, and an hour prior to the service
at the church on Friday.

Memorial donations may be made to Trinity
United Methodist Church Memorial Fund or
Housecalls Hospice

Renae Lynn McCune
Parkersburg, WV

Renae Lynn McCune, 54, of Parkersburg, passed
away Feb. 2, 2014, at home.

She was born Nov. 17, 1959, at Gallipolis,
Ohio, the daughter of the late James and
Dorthea Roach McCune.

Renae had been employed at J.C. Penney as a
supervisor, and was a member of the Pleasant
Grove Church near Reedy, W.Va.

Surviving is her husband, Thomas Speigle Sr.;
two sons, Donnie (Christina) McCune and Thomas
Speigle Jr., both of Parkersburg; five
grandchildren, Donavon Morris, Jacob McCune,
Mackenzie Robinson, Dakota McCune and Caden
McCune; and also her "kids", pet dogs, Jasmine
and Gracie; bird, Peetie; and cat, Lucky.

There will be a private family gathering in
her memory at the convenience of the family.

Kimes Funeral Home & Cremation Services of
Parkersburg is assisting the family.

Sharon Sue Johnson
Vienna, WV

Sharon Sue Johnson, 51, of Vienna, passed away
Feb. 1, 2014, at Camden Clark Medical Center.

She was born March 24, 1962, in Parkersburg, a
daughter of Joan Edgell Lemasters Mayle of
Vienna, and the late Garland W. Lemasters.

Sharon had been employed at the downtown GC
Murphy Co., Hills Dept. Store and David Weiss
Dept. Store. She enjoyed cooking and gardening.

Surviving is her daughter, Hope (Jacob)
Scholtz of Parkersburg; three grandchildren,
Taylor Hawkins and Cali and Titus Scholtz;
three brothers, Roger (Judy) Lemasters and
Jimmy Lemasters, both of Parkersburg, and
Curtis Lemasters of Vienna; two sisters, Linda
(John) Shields of Vienna and Lela (Mike)
Spagnola of New Jersey; and several nieces and
nephews.

She was preceded in death by a brother, Ralph
Lemasters.

A funeral service will be 7 p.m. Tuesday at
Kimes Funeral Home, 521 Fifth St. Pastor Jerry
Caplinger will officiate. The visitation will
also be on Tuesday from 5 p.m. until service
time.

Edith Elnora Thompson
Parkersburg, WV

Edith Elnora Thompson, 81, of the Ashby Ridge
Community, passed away Jan. 27, 2014, at her
home.

She was born Sept. 26, 1932, at Medina in
Jackson County, a daughter of the late Naaman
Bernard and Grace Maude Stallings Bever.

She was a member of the Liberty Street Church
of God.

Mrs. Thompson had worked as a switchboard
operator at St. Joseph's Hospital, worked as a
clerk at Montgomery Wards, and had also worked
at the Parker Theater at one time. She was a
member of the Parkersburg Doll Collectors Club
and had bowled at Ren-Dor Lanes on Pike Street.

Survivors include her husband, Delmer Clinton
Thompson; two sons, Gary (Becky) Thompson and
Michael (Sherry) Thompson, both of
Parkersburg; five grandchildren, Kari
Thompson, Aron (Melissa) Thompson, Nicholas
Thompson, Ashley (Waylon) Clark and Clinton
(Joanna) Thompson; and four great-
grandchildren, Savanna Thompson, Isaiah Clark,
Addison Clark and Isaac Thompson. In addition
to her parents, she was preceded in death by a
daughter, Kendra Kay Thompson; two brothers,
Lloyd Bever and John Bever; and four sisters,
Genevieve Hickman Sanquineti, Helen Kidder,
Irene Kidder and Charlotte Allman.

The funeral service will be held at 1 p.m.
Thursday at Kimes Funeral Home, 521 5th
Street, Parkersburg. Rev. Brian Harrell will
officiate and burial will follow at Sunset
Memory Gardens. The visitation will be on
Wednesday from 2-7 p.m.

Opal May Weekly
Vienna, WV

Opal May Weekly, 83, of Pleasant View Towers,
Vienna, passed away Jan. 14, 2014, at Camden
Clark Medical Center.

She was born July 11, 1930, the daughter of
the late Cecil F. and Emma Weekly.

Opal was a long time member of the 36th Street
Church of Christ in Vienna.

She had worked as a bookkeeper for Accountant
Doyle Shuman for many years.

Opal was the last surviving member of her
immediate family.

There will be a graveside service on Friday at
1 p.m. at the Rockland Cemetery in Belpre,
Evangelist Tom Butterfield will officiate.

There will be a viewing at Kimes Funeral Home,
521 5th Street, Parkersburg beginning at noon
on Friday until 12:45 p.m. before proceeding
to the cemetery.

Marjorie Rose Bush Mathess
Parkersburg, WV

Marjorie Rose Bush Mathess, 79, of
Parkersburg, passed away Jan. 8, 2014, at the
Parkersburg Care & Rehabilitation Center where
she had been residing.

She was born March 19, 1934 at Big Springs in
Calhoun County, a daughter of the late Ernest
L. and Hester Viola Wilson Bush.

Marjorie was of the Protestant Faith and at
one time she was a shcool teacher in Calhoun
County.

She was a loving mother and grandmother and
Caretaker for many family members in the past.

Surviving are two sons, Gregory Alan "Greg"
(Kim) Mathess and Ricky Lee "Rick" Mathess
both of Parkersburg; two daughters, Jacklyn
D. "Jackie" (Craig) Casto of Belpre and
Jennifer D. (Mike) Pennybacker of Parkersburg;
grandchildren: Kimberlee (Jeff) Snider and
their children, Jada, Peyton and Braidyn,
Richard (Amanda) Mathess and daughter,
Annabella, Mike (Erica) Mathess and children,
Chace and Kage; Adam (Shalimar) Mathess,
Elysia Mathess and children, Autumn Izaak and
Emilee, Steven Casto, Shane Casto, Amber
Mathess, Justin Mathess, Asia (Trevor)
Jennings and daughter Hadley and Mika (Ty)
Cumberledge. Several great grandchildren and
one great great grandchild; two brothers, Jack
(Jean) Bush of Mineral Wells and Porter
(Carolyn) Bush of Lubeck; two sisters, Maxine
(Ted) Crouch of Vienna and Marie (Jack) Weese
of Beckley and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded
in death by her husband, L. Estel Mathess, a
son, Jeffrey Lynn "Jeff" Mathess, two
brothers, Ernie Bush and Charles Bush.

The funeral service will be conducted on
Saturday at 11 a.m. at the Kimes Funeral Home,
521 5th Street, Parkersburg, Reverend Norman
Butler and Pastor Gene Waybright will
officiate and burial will follow at the Nobe
Cemetery in Calhoun County.

The visitation will be from 4-7 p.m. today and
an hour prior to the service on Saturday.

Sharon J. Sharie Bell
Parkersburg, WV

Sharon J. "Sharie" Bell, 64, of Stillwell,
passed away Jan. 6, 2014, at her home.

She was born Sept. 23, 1949 in Wood County, a
daughter of Millie Sams Beall of Gilmer County
and the late Bud Phillips.

Sharie was employed by Shoneys Restaurant as a
Manager and she enjoyed Painting and Reading.

Her husband, Rodney A. Bell, survives.

A loving friend and mother. Nana to Zoey, Bowe
and Joe Ferrell.

Also surviving are two sisters, Kim Fury of
Wood County and Amy Self of Gilmer County;
seven nieces and nephews.

She was loved by many and will be missed
dearly. She is gone but never forgotten.

The funeral service will be held at 11 a.m.
Friday at Kimes Funeral Home, 521 5th Street,
Pastor Ronnie Hendershot will officiate and
burial will follow at the Lubeck Cemetery.

The visitation will be from 3-6 p.m. today.
